This app has me crying

KETA is causing the most stress to me ever. I cannot get to step 6 to submit payment. I can’t even use the online browser, my MacBook, nothing is working and im crying from stress. I’ve been at this for about 4 hours at this point.

Poor, Poor, Poor

The layout is seemingly straightforward, but the functionality is extremely poor. It doesn’t take input reliably and the address for your stay in Korea function doesn’t work at all. Payment entry is difficult and not consistent. I had to start over multiple times. Check the automated input from the passport scan CAREFULLY. It is very unreliable.

Unholy nightmare to use

I tried in the web browser, I tried in KETA . Took me 2 hours to figure out how to enter the data it wanted. Used interface abomination. Credit card input looks totally sketchy too.

Trash

If I click “add file” it keep brings up scan passport or face but nothing happen and there’s no other option. I’m struggling with this for over an hr now. I don’t know what to do. They should have update to fix the bug. This is so stupid!

Junk!

10Mb download on sketchy cell network! Really? Plus, you enter all this information, PAY AN APPLICATION FEE, and wait . . . And wait…. I didn’t know I had to complete electronic entry forms until I got to the airport! Waited 1 1/2 hours for my application to be “approved”. Missed my flight. Worst App and service EVER!!!

Horrible inconvenient app

Really hard to enter credit card information (forget about Apple Pay). It takes a government bureaucrat to not make the payment function work properly when charging a fee…

Woeful

KETA is even worse than the website, and that’s an achievement I never thought would be possible! It’s basically the website wrapped in an app but somehow even worse. It times out loading every single page, which means things like drop downs or uploads just don’t work

0 stars, theives

I saw other people traveling to Korea who were still unaware of this new policy that missed their flights like me. These theives costed me hundreds of dollars to reissue a ticket for the following day because they can’t be bothered to streamline this system better after over a year of people dealing with this. Frauds. I’m surprised no one has filed a class action lawsuit yet.

Worst App Ever Made

Why is this even necessary to enter the country? They made traveling to Korea as hard as possible and this all is full of bugs and I highly recommend you use a computer instead of KETA. It took my 8 different tries to fill out this application and it kept deleting all my information on the previous tries. Update KETA or something.

Money Maker

KETA is not user-friendly. I was not able to certify several family members in one application. I had to submit individual applications. Adults and kids fee were the same price for processing. It took several attempts for each application to be successful. I had to use a separate debit / credit to make each payment. Otherwise the debit / credit card account is flagged as fraudulent. Rather pain staking process. KETA is better than the online site. Good luck everyone.

Shameful Incompetence

After spending way too long time trying to apply for my parent K-ETA (i did their application since they don’t speak english and aren’t tech savvy) i finally managed to submit. a day later, i got approval emails. Months later when it was time to check in to their flight it turns out that K-ETA scanned my dad’s passport number incorrectly and while i had an approval, it was not valid for boarding the plane. Cost me $800 to reschedule their flights. No customer service, no recourse, no accountability. Do yourself a favor and avoid Korea. KETA can really ruin your travel plans.

the most god awful system

app absolutely bugged out and we had to use the website. the photo upload system should be considered a new form of torture with how painfully specific it is around upload sizes. the application itself also had bugs, as trying to put “NONE” would not work for the address despite the red text literally telling you to for specific circumstances. charging is a complete scam and you would expect better software for a mandatory entry form for the country. honestly they should either delete this forever or fix their broken overpriced unrefined software

Steps to apply for K-ETA that worked for me:

1.) I completed everything but the payment on the official website (photos and everything), because the payment system was broken and accepted none of my cards

2.) Open KETA and press apply (don’t worry, it will soon allow you to continue your progress from the website

3.) Agree to their terms and conditions, then input your passport # and email address. After you do this and click “next”, KETA will detect your ongoing application on their website and give you the option to continue progress and skip to the payment screen.

4.) From here, all you have to do is pay the application fee. From my experience, only a visa card worked. A mastercard may work (I haven’t tried), but a visa card worked for me (discover card does not work)

5.) done

KETA can definitely use some maintenance. As it stands, it is truly a struggle to complete such a simple process due to technical errors

Not perfect but worked

I completed visa applications for myself and my wife. Documentation isn’t great. When it asks for the street address in Korea it wants the street name not the whole address. Then you choose the address from the list. Taking a selfie was a little wonkie. It did crash once and I had to start it over. However, application was approved overnight. Now I can but my plane tickets.

App works but cant print.

Was able to get my info in and approved but cant print the form. Print button does nothing.

App went smoothly 2023

Applied and approved within the hour.

Just make sure when you scan your passport to take it a little higher than the boundary until you see a confirmation.

Also for the self portrait, my advice is to not wear glasses, the reflection will show if you do.

Make sure all your details are correct because it needs to match your passport when you arrive to immigration or else you might delay the process.

Great

I saw so much bad reviews. I was a bit nervous to use it. But it worked perfect for me. Got approved and everything very fast. KETA was very easy to use

Got approved in less than 30 mins

KETA has such low ratings but it was very straight forward and user-friendly for my family and I. The passport scans were quick and efficient. The in-app photo booth was very handy as well. We took pictures straight from my iPhone.

Works Great!

I applied for a K-ETA and edited it in a later time without any problems. KETA is a bit slow, but it works.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews…

I originally started applying for my K-ETA through the website but quickly realized it was very difficult to upload pictures. Even after I’d cropped them down as small as I could, the size limit was still exceeded. After a couple google searches, it was advised I try KETA instead because it sizes the pictures for you. I had initially avoided using KETA after seeing all the negative reviews, but I figured I’d give it a chance to possibly spare myself some frustration. Not only was taking and uploading the pictures one and done, but the whole process was super smooth, only costed me $8, was easy to understand and I got approved in the same day. I absolutely recommend using KETA instead of the website. Also, I’m 4 weeks out from my trip in case that helps anyone with timing!
