I've had Rijksmuseum on my phone for several years and it was a great app. Now, I'm in Amsterdam and all I get is a black screen with Rijks Museum in white letters.

I've deleted Rijksmuseum and reinstalled Rijksmuseum and I can't get it to work on my iPhone 6 iOS is up to date.

Sound doesn't work

Unfortunately the sound did not work, rendering Rijksmuseum useless for the family game.

My account was connected to Facebook, but Rijksmuseum don’t have option to log in with Facebook.

I’m a museum docent in Dallas and was recently at the this app with friends. They wanted me to guide them through, but of course I’m not current on the collection there, so I directed them to Rijksmuseum. It is fabulous! The fact that you can go through on several preset tours or choose to explore the works of art by corresponding number is great. I enjoyed listening to the descriptions of the things I missed days afterward. My friends, new to museums, enjoyed Rijksmuseum very much. Highly recommended. Works great; just be sure to download it it your own language.

I recently visited the museum and did the highlights and building tours. I found them to be well done and had no issues connecting or with audio.

I pretty much never write reviews for apps, but Rijksmuseum made exploring the this app super easy and fun. I would highly recommend downloading it for your trip.

Audio works perfectly. There must be ignorants out there that didn't turn the volume up and later blamed Rijksmuseum for not hearing audio

Folks...same yourself €5 (what you will pay for the audio guide at the museum) and get Rijksmuseum for free. They are the same thing! I verified this with the museum!! Easy to navigate, Rijksmuseum has various tours from highlights to different collections. GPS helps you navigate from area to area (you’ll need to use the museum’s WiFi).

Each description is around a minute and gives details beyond what printed signs have. There are also additional details if you want to learn more. I don’t have an art background so I appreciated hearing about techniques of the artist or interpretation of how they used light or symbolism in their work.

One of the best apps I've ever seen. You tell it how much you want to see. I told it I wanted the quick tour. It knew where I was and sequentially directed me to about 20 artworks. It displayed the artwork on my phone (sometimes it was too crowded to stand in front of the art for an extended time). Meanwhile, it gave a concise audio explanation of the artwork.

It was better than the paid tour.

Rijksmuseum, with its guides and extra A/V content, is a work of art. It's got audio guides, clever video clips, wayfinding tips, and my favorite feature--a way to have your favorite artworks e-mailed to you!

It froze up a couple times when I moved in and out of WiFi coverage, but it was solved by restarting Rijksmuseum .

I have no suggestions. Just mad respect for the dev team. Thank you.

I am a BIG fan of the this app and all they represent. I downloaded their app at the museum and it did not work. Now it does - and it would have been smart of me to download it before my visit. Great app guided tours with behind the scenes and art information! A must have for the museum goer OR just to take a virtual tour!

I used this on my iPhone 6 during a recent visit. I really enjoyed the audio tours, and found Rijksmuseum to be reliable, easy to use, and very informative. Do this, instead of paying for the physical audio guide at the museum!

We loved this tour which we rented in the museum on on iPod touch, but it would obviously be cheaper just to download this free app!

The sound works if you turn the ringer button/switch to on (not silent/vibrate mode), and then turn up the volume.

6+ hours of audio if you pick the short versions of everything.

We’ve done several museums and sites on our trip, including Versailles, Musee d’Orsay, and the Van Hogh. This has been the easiest to use, allows me to use my own earbuds, and I’ve appreciated the descriptions. I’m not generally knowledgeable about art, and the narration points out just enough background and subtle intent/meaning to make it enjoyable without being overbearing. And it’s free!

I always try to get an audio guide at museums and was really pleased to learn Rijksmuseum provides a free one! Unlike a typical audio guide, you could select from a variety of different “tours” and type in the numbers from individual works. I loved the flexibility this provided. We did the highlights tour and a special exhibition tour - both were lovely! Also Rijksmuseum features a map / GPS that directs you to the next work in each tour, which is incredibly helpful for a huge museum like the this app!
