Tales: Choose Your Own Story Reviews

this app is a really great app. I like it because of the interactive stories and how you can make your own and publish it quickly. I have a few suggestions though, which, if implemented, would make me play and create on this app a lot more.

1. I wish there was some sort of way to download episodes in series to complete offline. This way, you can access some episodes offline if you prepare.

2. I would love if you could prompt the user to enter in text in your story and save it for later. For example, you could ask the reader what they want their character’s name to be for more customization.

3. A way to see all your stories, how many people have liked them, how many people have played them, etc. inside Tales without having to scour the whole platform because your stories aren’t very popular would be great.

I absolutely have loved Tales for ages! The stories are original and the interaction and wonderful! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Tales is such a hidden gem! There are tons of stories on here that stretch across so many different genres. You want super steamy romance? They got it. You want survival adventures? They’re here. Zombie apocalypse? Magical wizarding schools? Mafia? Mystery solving? Erotica? Werewolves? Vampire princes? Haunted houses?

I’m on other interactive apps and the variety just isn’t there. this app has that and at a really high quality bar. Visuals are amazing. Why aren’t more people talking about that?!

I’m seeing more and more stories reaching the finish line and lots more new stuff has been added. I also like that not all good / steamy / adventurous choices require payment (which is the case on other apps). I can have a good time without any premium options, and when I do want to upgrade, it’s well worth it.

I just recently discovered Tales and am shocked it’s not bigger tbh. It’s a lot of fun, with a wide variety of stories and genres. I’ve really enjoyed exploring my options. Definitely would recommend Tales to anyone who enjoys interactive fiction! I will say the one downside is the diamond prices; I’m not someone who is unwilling to spend money on an app. I frequently have in other apps, more than I’d like to admit honestly. But 5 dollars buys you thirty diamonds, when often a single decision is 25. I’m just not willing to spend 5 on a single choice. So, I do hope maybe in the future they’ll adjust the scale for diamonds (and maybe throw in a 10 dollar option, the jump from 5 to 20 is jarring ). Still, 100% worth the download.

I’m not even going to lie, this this app app is so underrated! The stories are amazing, great mc’s that have an actual character growth unlike other interactive story apps on here and visually appealing. It also has all types of genres. For once the storylines on here makes me want to read more.

The only thing I would say the downside is the updates. There are wonderful stories on here, that still need to be continued, but it has taken ages for the authors to update them, and I’m getting impatient, I’m starting to feel I won’t get to see their endings :(

For what’s it worth though, Tales is still amazing and I’m so glad I downloaded it as you should too!! I hope it gets the recognization it deserves.

I want to like Tales, but there are a lot of glitches. The progression resets on its own. Also, if you choose to re-read a chapter, your purchases aren’t saved! You’re expected to purchase them again! There are a lot of good stories, but they’re NEVER updated, or finished. You’re left in limbo waiting for a conclusion. There should be some type of contract with the authors who post their books on Tales . If they don’t provide chapters in a certain amount of time, their work should be removed from the platform. We should also have weekly releases from at least SOME of the books. I will never spend money on Tales as it is now. It’s insane to me that a subscription is even offered, because it will be a total waste of money. You would be subscribing to getting bits and pieces of stories. The subscription shouldn’t be offered until you guys have some structure.

I love mixing in my heavier paperback novel reading with something from on here. The episodes are a good length while brushing my teeth or waiting for water to boil for tea.

Some stories are better than others I’ve found. The recommended or featured ones are my favorite.

Tales itself can be interesting, but the stories rarely get updated. For instance, I have been waiting for the “Save the Queen” story about Anne Boleyn to update with new chapters/be finished for over two years and nothing. It’s like that with the majority of the stories on Tales. This isn’t even the first time Tales has been released. It was released before, never updated and then re-released as a separate app with the same name. I have both versions on my phone. I don’t even fully understand why they re-release Tales separately when there is no difference between it and the previous one. Why not just update the stories on the previous one? This is such a cash grab. Why would anyone pay for stories that are not completed and the developers have no intention of completing?

These stories would be great if your progress ever saved properly. Pretty upset that I have spent so much on diamond choices that no longer show up in stories that I had previously read (my progress doesn’t show up for most either) the stories that DO show my progress won’t open. I paid $80 for a years subscription and my account has saved 0 progress and can’t open stories I had previously started and customer support is ignoring me, soooo it’s a scam. It’s sad too, because the writers are talented. You are better off with Choice of Games or Delight Games since those apps actually work and the customer support doesn’t ignore you.

It used to be really fun ( good stories and choices. In a few stories the most desirable choices required diamonds, but they have to make money somehow. ) but in the past few days it has just been stuck on the loading screen. I saw that that's around the time the latest update was released, so i assume that the update caused the issue. You have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times in order to get it working again for some time.

Of all the similar apps I’ve played, this has the most elegant design , and the stories are well -written (no typos or anything) and interesting. However, if you don’t want to spend real money you’ll never finish a single book, because (unlike the other apps) your keys are not restored after a time .Also, there are no rewards after finishing a chapter and no way to win keys or diamonds except paying! Pity…

I love Tales, it has such GREAT stories but I would like it if there were some more romantic stories along with choosing your gender. There is also this issue where the game randomly quits on me or when the background is switching in a story, the whole thing just turns pink, so if y’all could fix that I’d appreciate it and give Tales the 5 stars it deserves!!🥰

I wanna enjoy Tales but it’s very glitchy at the moment. The few stories I read on here were really good! But Tales itself acts up often. It’ll take forever to load the stories, or they'll close themselves completely DURING the loading process. Worst part, I purchased a few extra keys and while the payment went through, zero keys were added for me to use :| thank god I only bought the smallest amount you could lol

So I’ve had this game since like June of 2020. It started being super buggy on me, the stories that I have read wouldn’t keep it’s progress or even be put under my ‘continue reading’. I decided to delete the game and reinstalling it. I installed it and then I find this game? It being the same exact one as I just reinstalled but it’s different? So now I just installed this game and I have two of the same. I’m sorry if this sounds confusing but I’m confused haha

I really enjoyed Tales. It has millions of stories of different genres, and they’re all pretty cool. However, I got to the last episode of Truchange, and it reset me to the beginning. This is really upsetting because tickets take 2 hours so it will take me a while to get my progress back. Otherwise great app.

I’ve been on all the popular story apps, Choices, Episode, etc, and this app is my favorite! The stories are complex, with great character development, and the graphics are really great. If you enjoy books in general, this is such a fun way to experience them. Love!

I recommend Apex Predators honestly it got me hooked! Search up Lena Nguyen and check out her other work!

I love the story’s but recently on a few of the stories I’ve been reading, you get to a certain point in them and then if you press continue to read, it has you re-do the part you just read. Plus your wasting a key on it and you only get one of those every three hours. Very frustrating app.

The stories have constant glitches, and it seems like the bugs I’ve reported are left unchecked. The support system is flawed; it’s only a one-way communication system that seems outdated. Gems cannot be earned in any way besides spending real life currency, so you’re stuck with what you have. This is the biggest downside of this app, especially when I encountered at least 3 premium choice options in a single chapter.

The stories are great! However, Tales needs some serious fixing. I’ve encountered portraits that are switched, names that are duplicated (which makes it SUPER confusing to read), and Tales freezing. I’m actually a subscriber - I love the stories that much but it would be nice to get an update soon.

I love the concept of Tales & it had me hooked until I went to bed at around 1am and it showed that I would get a key in 2 hours then I wake up this morning at around 10am and its showing I now wont get the key for 17 hours lol. 24 hours for one key is a little ridiculous & I understand that there are free books but their aren’t that many and the majority of them aren’t completed. I really enjoyed Tales but only being able to make it the first chapter of a story then only being able to read one chapter per story per day (unless you purchase more keys) isn’t something I’d like to do. like I said the concept was cool and alot of the stories and writing are amazing but that key system is a little outrageous lol

I love the book I’m reading right now. Just one note to the makers of Tales . I wish that there was more then one key a day. In the book I’m reading right now some chapters are real short. I wait 24 hours for a few paragraph chapter. That’s my only thing I dislike. But other then that it’s a great app. I was looking for an app after Lovestruck went away I tried a few others but wasn’t liking them. Then I found what I was looking for in Tales.

Great app! Love interactive stories so I’m surprised I never found out sooner. Daily login gems or ads for gems would be great. Or calendar rewards. Ways to reward daily players. Hope you guys update regular as I just started a story with only three chapters out!

The timer on the keys are a huge problem. I had 4 keys, I used 3. The timer said I had to wait for a certain amount of hours. I came back to Tales 2DAYS later and I still had one key. Please fix this. Also on the website it’s hard to even write one chapter of a this app story bc the website keeps crashing and acting slow.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the chapters of this book . Always ready for the next chapter . Keeps me on the edge wanting to read more . Thank you !

Tales definitely has been cool but it needs some work. I was playing one of the stories. Got to choose my character in the beginning of the first episode. Then I started the second episode and was a complete different character option and I have no way of fixing it so I’m a bit angry.

The problem is I can’t even get in Tales please fix this issue🥺.
