This app is completely useless

The online portal allows you to view patient history, upcoming visits, check messages. MedStarHealth seems to be completely independent of the online portal and does not track any of your medical history. If I could give MedStarHealth 0 stars I would.

Disappointing

When log in MedStarHealth then has to log in again patient portal . I mean this very frustrating that this could be way simpler but they choose not to . Please follow kaiser or other app at least you can have an idea how to design a simple app

This may be the worst app I’ve ever used

We’re required to upload our insurance cards and photo ID before each appointment ( it doesn’t save no matter how many times I’ve visited this doctor), but MedStarHealth crashes repeatedly or doesn’t save the photo. I usually have to try at least 20 times before I can actually check in. Particularly to check in at urgent care (I was literally bleeding while trying to upload my photo id), this is truly unacceptable.

Confusion

MedStarHealth is terrible. It bounce you all around in a confusing manner. I used the portal to access and set up MedStarHealth . It only passed my profile information not all the other data I had created in the portal. In MedStarHealth to access that information I need to transfer from MedStarHealth to the portal.
If you would like a model app look at INOVA MY CHART. Very easy user friendly without bouncing around.

Two in one equals none

Are there two apps in MedStarHealth? It’s really confusing to navigate, and some items on one part of this duplex ?thingy? are not on the other.

App doesn’t work nor is useful

The usefulness of MedStarHealth is questionable. You can’t link your profile to your patient ID, so it doesn’t pick up any useful data on tests, etc. Also, no option of payment. Not sure why have it.

App issue

For some reason I can login on the website and not MedStarHealth . I’ve tried on multiple occasions by now. Also, why do we have to create a profile when logging into the patient portal? That makes 0 sense.

Can’t make an appointment

When I try to make an appointment, it would only give me the option whether I want to get a flu shot or covid shot. It wouldn’t give me any other option so I cannot move forward the process of making an appointment. I guess I’m not going to visit the MedStar never ever.

Password Snafu

I am so ready for MedStarHealth to be amazing.
Unfortunately I cannot get my password to work. I can access the account via my browser. I have even spent the time to reset my password. Nothing seems to work.
Sorry, I will change my review when MedStarHealth allows me access.

Worthless app

Would rate zero stars if I could. Installed and was given option to link with my Medstar portal. As soon as I finished setting up my login for MedStarHealth and went through the “Let’s get started “ screen, it took me to a completely blank screen with just the Medstar name and logo at the very top. There is nothing to click on so I can’t access or do anything. This is worthless! I agree with other reviewers that this is very disappointing from a major healthcare provider.

Why are there two apps or sites for the same information?

This makes no sense. Why create an app to provide access to a website? User has to enter access information multiple times. Useless UX.

Link to the patient portal doesn’t load

Why isn’t everything just integrated into MedStarHealth ?

Incomplete

I have to assume that MedStar is in the process of switching from the older patient portal to the newer MedStar Health, but why roll out the new before it is finished? It doesn’t provide access to your medical history or your messages and without those, you still have to go to the legacy portal.

Having two accounts is also annoying and the new system has a more restrictive password requirement, with only a limited set of special characters allowed - why?!

Two stars only because it is a cleaner looking interface, so hopefully they bring all of the functionality of the portal in soon.

Hard to use

MedStarHealth is poorly designed and not user friendly. I feel like it is a huge circle and once you get caught in the loop that takes you nowhere it is hard to get out!!

Not MyChart

I wanted this to be easy to use. I saw a doctor at MedStar for a second opinion. Although my decision remains the same, my inability to send a quick email and ask a few questions, is a huge problem compared to MyChart. This is effecting my decision to change to MedStar from Luminis

App Within an App

I can only look at my labs and it takes 3-4 log ins to get to the information I need. Literally an app for MedStar then an app within the main one to get to the patient portal.

MedStarHealth might as well be useless if you have a child on your insurance. You can’t see any of their labs, only past visit information.

Opens to a blank page

Unable to see the landing page. Opens to a blank screen.

Password requires frequent resetting

My password/ username is frequently not recognized and requires resetting. Sometimes locking me out of MedStarHealth for 24. I appreciate security, but this feels like a technical glitch.

Bad execution

MedStarHealth could be great but there are a couple major problems—it cashes often and it’s hard to find items in the many subcategories.

Adequate. Kludgy. Frustrating. Not for everybody

Improved. Hardly ideal. Serves 2 functions: 1) provider lookup. 2) portal access. Portal access is like an app within the Medstar app. Happily, they've made it so you don't need to log in twice. Finally.
Unfortunately, since the portal is like an internal app, you can't get notifications about new messages (from doctor, lab etc) you've received.
