Super bad

1. Even the employees at the bank admit that they can’t get CBE to “act right “ on IOS devices. It logs out in the middle of use, says “unable to sync” and expires way before the expiring date of CBE .
2. It doesn’t show all your transactions. For some reasons only a selected random transactions or displayed. Overall an app that really needs refinement on Apple devices and the developers need to sort it out. This from the biggest bank in the country is 100% unacceptable.

Sync failure

It is so embarrassing apps, it keeps saying sync failure when I tried to login. I did update apps and software, but still the same. I did everything what I supposed to do to get logged in and access my mobile banking account, but I couldn’t. Even I contacted this app customer service, they said go to the nearest branch and they will fix it, but I’m out of country, how can I go to nearest branch, so embarrassing. It is big company why didn’t fix it this kind of miner issue. Who ever concern please look at this kind of bad situation and fix permanently. I feel sorry.

CBE Mobile Banking App on iPhone Glitches

I have been using the this app Mobile Banking app on my iPhone for the past two years. Overall, it worked well, aside from a few minor glitches. However, starting last month, I have been unable to use CBE properly. While I can log in, I cannot perform any transactions or even view my updated balance. CBE still displays my balance and transactions from a month ago.

Could you please confirm if there is an outage affecting iPhone users or provide any assistance to resolve this issue?

Mobile banking is not working on I phone.

It has three episode of mobile banking stop working since I set up mobile banking three months ago. I think I phone is not compatible for this app mobile banking app. The tailor question is also confirming my suspension. “ Is your phone iPhone?” My primary phone is iphone and It will be inconvenient to carry two phones. The bank tailor try to set up my mobile banking again, but the anticipated message is not getting through my phone.

Half way there

1) CBE lacks a means do download statements.
2) UI on toggling between various accounts is not intuitive.
3) Dialogue box to “accept” or “cancel” in Amharic uses the words አዎ and አይ which are placed too close to each other and can also be misread by users.
4) There should be a means to wire to other this app birr accounts. Not just topping up your own this app Birr wallet.
5) UI when selecting different activities such as wire to this app account or another account etc needs better graphics. Simple text is the way it exists.
6) Being able to top up your mobile phone card should not eat up valuable realestate right at the main accounts page.
7) Accounts page needs better designation to savings vs checking account.
8) Fail error messages should be more descriptive

This is a good start but by no means on par with what a multi billion dollar firm like this app ought to be providing to customers.

‘Sync failed’ on I phone

As Ethiopian leading bank it is expected to be the best in every way possible but CBE is the worst of them all, specifically for iPhone users, I personally am tired of going to the bank every other month if not week to fix these problem. I’m sure there are so many people out there who can relate
I hope your IT department will come up with a solution anytime soon.

It’s a stable app however it has a limited transactions activity log

The only thing I miss from CBE is the transaction list, for some reason you have limited to a couple of recent activities but why not show all what is the big problem of fetching that data upon request, other than it’s a good and stable app

Pleas fix this

So I have used CBE for more than 3 years now, and there was this one annoying problem ever since I started using, when I transfer money and write the RESON it keeps saying “the repository already exist” for gods sake reason are not unique I’d so every time we might have the same reason to transfer money for so pleas pleas the development team fix this annoying issue

The app is not working properly on iPhone

issue with an iPhone mobile banking app not syncing correctly. I Checked the Internet Connections, Reinstalled the Application, and updated the to but none of these steps didn't work so every time I get Sync issues I have to go to the bank and rest CBE and I'm tired of that. I hope you're going to fix the problem

App issue

I like the start to make customer’s life easier. One issue that i noticed with this application is when transferring from this app to other banks, it gives an error message at end as if the transaction failed. But then the next day you see the transfer happened. If the error message show up then the transaction should fail. Please developers look into it. I am sure i am not the only one this happened to.

Cbe app for iPhone using

"Hello this app Bank Team, I'm using your mobile banking app on my iPhone, and unfortunately, I'm experiencing some issues. CBE is not functioning properly, and it's making it difficult for me to manage my accounts. Could you please look into this and fix CBE ? I would appreciate it if you could improve the user experience and resolve the technical issues. Thank you for your attention to this matter

Paste approval

This this app app is very user friendly and easy to use. The only frustration I have when using it everytis is that it's paste approval request. One I don't think it is necessary. And two when you approve the paste approval request it logs out and I have to insert my pin again. That is extremely frustrating. But all in all great job by the design and development team.

CBE should be leading...

this app should be leading other banking and start interbank exchanges to. One thing I hate Ethiopian banking system is that, every bank force’s you to open an account to do any business to inflate their customers numbers.

If you have bank account in Addis Ababa and want to change even a phone number or even want to transfer large amounts, they demand that you open an account in the city and branch you are trying to do business:( otherwise you have to do the original bank you that you open your account! this practice need to be stopped immediately.

Other than that CBE saves a lots of time! The maximum amount of money to be transferred needs to be changed and also the transfer limit need to be removed. To do 20 transactions a week, we are opening four bank accounts! And so on... your policy only hurts the law abiding customers...

Added feature not working

The new feature added that allows users to either save the transaction summary as an image in their gallery or share it on social media doesn’t work. When you click on the share or save button the whole screen freezes and then CBE won’t be accessible unless you close it and reopen again.

Share & Download but not active

It’s a great app. On of the best in the banking industry in Ethiopia. One issue I’ve faced is the new feature you mentioned about downloading and sharing the transaction summary as an image is not functioning. When trying to download the image and/or sharing it, CBE freezes, becomes unresponsive and requires a restart of CBE all in general. I’ve overcome the issue by taking a screenshot as usual but Other than that, it’s great.

Issue with the new update

I like CBE. The new update has a disproportionate fonts and views. Another frustration is, I open CBE , go to the transfer page, switch to another app to copy account number and CBE automatically log me out. I don’t know why, it wasn’t like this on previous versions. Literally leaving CBE even for a second log the current session out. Some security functions should be left out to the users and CBE doesn’t need to take care everything.

Appreciation

Commercial Bank of Ethiopia is everything a bank should be. They are professional, kind, and local. Everyone there is so welcoming and they really make you feel like an important person. You just don’t get that kind of personal touch when banking with large national banks. I appreciate all the staff and look forward to many years banking with (BN)!

Performance improvement

I am using iPhone for this application. Sometimes my mobile banking application does not ask for password nor it logs out of it. Though I ask many branches, none has given me permanent solution. They make me uninstall and reinstall the software. After few days it starts that tragedy again. Please give due attention to this.

How to update the App

If you’re having an issue with CBE after iOS updates, I would recommend to delete CBE and download it again. After you download it again, it will ask you put your PIN in. Works fine

Fast and Reliable

I have been using other banks and I found this one is better than others its fast and reliable app. And I have a few suggestions for example CBE transaction history is limited it only shows few recent transactions it should provide monthly transactions. Good app
