Echo, echo, echo….

Useless, useless, useless! Uninstalled. I spent an hour trying to get this to work using a new this app laptop, iPhone and wired headset. I was able to send and receive texts and make phone calls. The person on the other end of every call told me that my voice sounded horrible and that every word they said was caught in an echo-loop, repeated back to them multiple times. While troubleshooting, I found a 3 year old support post on this app’s website stating that headsets are not supported! Really?!?! Avoid

Pretty useless if you actually want to text from your computer

I was excited when this new version came out and it (mostly) worked for a little while. A couple of months ago it stopped working altogether. Although Dell on the computer and phone both work on their own they never seem to talk to each other. I can’t text from my laptop and rarely can view contacts. The only thing that works is the notifications (but who cares since I don’t need those) and the mirroring (again a feature that I’m sure is helpful to some but, I don’t need). I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled both apps (phone and laptop) multiple times in the hopes it works but it just doesn’t. Like a chump I open them almost every day to see if this is the day it’ll start working again and alas, my insanity meter keeps going up because it never works.

App doesn’t work

I really loved the old app and had no problems, but this new updated app just doesn’t work properly. The layout is nice and I like how Dell looks, but Dell just doesn’t work, every time I have to use it, it says that Dell can’t run in 2 different windows when I only have it open in one, and it always says to turn on the Bluetooth for my phone when I’ve already checked that my phone is connected with my laptop. Most the time I have to completely unpair my phone with Dell to get it to work. And lastly you have to keep Dell open on your phone this is more an inconvenience than Dell not working but if I leave to respond to a text or watch something on my phone I can’t use Dell on my computer.

Does not work

Worked great for 4-6 weeks but then just stopped working. Tried everything to get it to work, deleted apps, reloaded them and so on but did nothing. Tried using support but the window just kept closing and said it was open in another window, no it wasn’t. Using I-Phone 10.

Bugs

It keeps prompting me to connect my device via bluetooth to be able to send messages when it is already clearly connected since my contacts and photos are populated on the PC app.

Does not show up in my phone’s Bluetooth devices as an option but all of my permissions are turned on to allow connection to the PC.

I haven’t been able to use Dell (s) properly yet and even though the phone app says “mirroring”, it doesn’t do anything on my PC except it starts screen recording on my phone. Odd.

New version is terrible

The new version of this app Mobile Connect is plain terrible. No longer does it seem to pull contacts over Bluetooth so Dell has to remain open on the phone. It also doesn’t seem to work backgrounded. It loses Bluetooth connection often and I have to re pair it. The windows app is also way worse. Backgrounding doesn’t seem to work there either and it loses history every time. Version 3.3 is far superior. And yet they are discontinuing it. Please fix this version first!

Fantastic App, When it Works

Love Dell ’s potential and promise, but it’s riddled with issues and bugs that prevent me from giving it five stars.

Could use of couple of more features here and there like being able to send and receive group texts but that’s not the end of the world. When Dell is working as designed and expected, it’s fantastic. Yes, the mirroring isn’t perfect and it’s not going to allow you to seamlessly manage and use the phone with your laptop, but I wouldn’t expect Apple to allow for that type of tight knit integration.

The main problem with Dell is the fact that it just doesn’t stay connected for more than a couple of days. I’ve tried pretty much everything that comes to mind, restarting the phone and laptop multiple times. Killing the Bluetooth adapters on both and restarting. I have even deleted the programs from each device and reinstalled. But nothing seems to fix the connectivity issues permanently or even for very long.

After a few days, the two devices can’t talk to each other anymore and you will inevitably have to disconnect the phone from Dell on the computer and set it up again. And again. And again. I keep doing it because I love it when it works, but man what I would give for a long lasting solution to keep this program working.

Perhaps I’m one of the few with this problem and if so, I’m glad others get to use it to its full hassle free potential.

Resource Hog, Not Very Useful

I didn’t have any problems connecting to a G5 laptop with Windows 11 but oh my, when it does connect the this app Mobile Connect app on the PC is a huge resource hog.

Constant 20-25% CPU usage, so the onboard laptop fans were running all the time. So much for using this in a quiet room while I work. Less of a problem was the 1GB+ of RAM usage by Dell . I have 16GB so it didn’t matter as much, but still.

I guess Dell is useful for someone but not me. Seems a LOT easier to just pick up the phone and use it than go through all the steps to connect it. Plus, you have to keep the phone open and unlocked to use Dell , so you will probably need to have it plugged in full time with the possibility of screen burn-in. Not worth the hassle IMO

Bluetooth connection is a joke

Thought they would update this Bluetooth connection issue with new app but it’s still trash. iPhone is a year old and had no issues with other Bluetooth connections but of course this app’s beta program can’t connect.

Can no longer send messages from PC

Previous this app Mobile Connect worked just fine - this update, however, no longer allows me to send messages from my PC. It keeps prompting me to connect my device via bluetooth to be able to send messages when it is already clearly connected since my contacts are populated on the PC app.

Two stars just because the interface looks promising, too bad this update rendered the mobile connect feature essentially useless.

Good features, but one fatal flaw

The feature set is really nice, and being able to text with my iPhone from a Windows machine is such a unique capability compared with most other Windows machines.

The major problem is running it on a laptop, however. I have one of the top-of-the line, latest and greatest models that this app makes. But starting up this program causes an absurd amount of CPU usage on its own. It runs an entire processing core at max load, meaning the laptop is constantly generating a lot of heat and the fans are spinning at near max. It makes the machine hot and noisy, and drains the battery very quickly. Because of this, I’m gonna be uninstalling the program and not using it.

I’ll be checking back every few months to see if they’ve improved this, but until they do it’s unfortunately unusable.

Doesn’t pair

It doesn’t pair well with iPhone

As expected from a dinosaur company

Too many steps to send file to the computer. To little functionality. Can’t even copy a piece of text message to the computer. The project manager needs to get fired.

Great concept, terrible functionality.

Doesn’t really work with iPhone at least, it doesn’t sync texts and screen mirroring is incredibly spotty which is what I was looking to use it for in the first place. Work on functionality please.

Really Slow

I got Dell on my phone and my computer, I really wanted a way to easily get my photos on my phone on my computer. I got Dell and it was a really slow download from the beginning, I pared it with my laptop but it was really slow time, it took even more time to get my pictures just to show up. It works but it is ridiculously slow.🙁

Bugged

I have to delete and reload Dell every time I open it on my laptop for a new session with it. For some reason it doesn’t connect my laptop and mobile phone after opening, using it OK and then ending my use on the laptop. The next time I use it, I have to go through the steps of deleting Dell on my mobile, downloading it again and re-connecting it with the laptop all over again before I can use it. What am I missing?

Text messaging works fine

So far the main reason I was texting my this app computer and so far it seems to work fine for that. I may try out the other features but that’s the main one I need this for

Mobile Connect IMO

App is alright, I just wish that it would automatically connect to phone while on pc, as opposed to having to go on your phone and open the mobile connect application on there as well just for it to load your contacts and messages. Also im not sure if Dell supports video calls but if it does then that’s cool, if not then maybe add that feature.

Works great considering how much apple restricts

Had some tweaks to do on my pc to get it to run (non this app pc) but it works great to be able to send and receive texts as well as control the phone from my pc.

Overall a life saver

It is sometimes tempermental and I have to attempt the remote control several times, but it will eventually work, and controlling it from my computer is amazing. Typing on my keyboard is so much better than typing with my thumbs! Keep up the good work and keep improving Dell. This is one of my favorite apps!

They just can’t make this work

The last version of Dell for windows sort of worked. I could at least send sms. This one doesn’t work at all. It shows files but not sms and then after “troubleshooting” and pairing and unpairing it shows nothing at all. This might be a Microsoft problem as windows 10 says my phone Bluetooth is off but that isn’t the case. Ever wonder why we use a Mac? This is why.

Not working with iPhone 12 pro

installed both the new mobile connect. Not able to make the sms and notification work in this new app. The instructions keep saying to allow notification in the Bluetooth connection by clicking the I button near the pc name, but the reality there is no option for that. The iPhone continue thinks that the PC is a headset.

Bluetooth doesn’t work

Everything LOOKS like it’ll be great and the interface is cool, but everyone including myself is experiencing an error where Dell says Bluetooth can’t pair with my iPhone, despite it being turned on and in range. I’m deleting Dell until they can get this figured out.

Does not work

Dell does not work. Everything is set up correctly, but the desktop cannot seem to load anything (messages, contacts, files, etc.) it just gives the blue wheel of death.

Doesn’t work with iPhone 12 Pro Max

Mobile Connect 3.3 works great.
This one 4.0 has issues with notification and text messages showing up. It said Bluetooth issued even thought the Bluetooth is paired. So please fix it.

Not worth the aggravation

I wanted to buy a MacBook Pro for the iPhone integration but figured I could save several hundred dollars going this route. Don’t make the same mistake I did. This software is junk. this app needs to take their name off of it.

Garbage!

Previous version was fine. Update is a piece of garbage. Setup process flawed and Bluetooth not working. Some testing before you release an application would be appreciated this app.

Waste of time

keeps telling me to connect but I am connected on both ends and some things work
way to clunky to bother with app deleted

This is just bad

Really disappointed

Bluetooth no worky
