VIP locked out

I have tried to contact app support for 3 different apps that connected to this app. I’m a VIP member, meaning I paid extra money. I have been locked out of all my apps connected to this app. I get sent an email telling me where my problem ticket is and whether or not it’s in line to be answered. To go there to find out answers. Here’s the main issue…I’m locked out! That means I cannot login at all! Every time I try, I get a box that says….Your account is locked out contact app support. I did that 3 times a week ago. Cannot log in to see where my ticket is nor why I am locked out. I have no way I of logging into 3 separate apps. I literally watch hundreds of shows and need every form possible to keep tract. I even paid money to get full access and have unlimited number of shows to track. Cannot do any of that since I was locked out 7 days ago. Cannot go into app support, as I’m locked out from signing in. No reason has been given. Everything was working fine in the morning it all occurred, but by afternoon, locked out. This is the only way I can contact anyone to find out what’s going on. There is no real logical reason for my account to be locked out. HELP!!!!

Almost A Must Use

This replaced a few apps I’ve used for Trackt over the years. It would be nice if the “Up Next” module would list how many I watched episodes besides the next one (if any) are waiting to be watched. TV Time (not a Trackt app) has this feature. With this feature, this would be my go to app.

Would also be nice if “Up Next” dynamically updated to reflect something you just marked as watched by making it disappear or (if there are more episodes) changing the display to the next episode.

Looking forward to see how this evolves.

I’ve been using this app’s service for years. So, naturally when they release the official app, I was excited. But as you can possibly read in many other reviews, usability wasn’t at the core of the effort to bring its service to their mobile audience.

There are too many taps to accomplish simple tasks. When you mark a film or episode as watched while in a list, the purple check mark gets ticked for unrelated films/episodes too. In the recommended section of Trakt , there isn’t a way to remove recommended films when you’re on the list view; so you can only remove the top recommended item in the Home Screen.

There isn’t a widget about what items come next to be watch but there’s one for what you’ve recently watched which I found very odd.

The best way I’ve got to think about what Trakt is in relation to this app is “everything”. Instead of an iterative design to bring one well done feature at the time, an app was released with every feature this app offers without particularly excelling at any of them. this app has become a jack of all trades among apps using its API. 3rd party apps are still better options. I do wish to see how Trakt evolves and I’m regularly checking back between updates but it still doesn’t replace the third party app I’m using.

Too many taps

I see what this app is going for here. A simple, clean interface that’s easy to navigate. It doesn’t really work well the way they’ve implemented it here, however. I’m really annoyed that I have to tap to expand sections to find everything I want. Watcht presents all of the important information all on one screen and it just works better.

If the official app didn’t have synchronization delays like the third party apps do, it might warrant becoming my daily use app. But it does. If I update something on the website, it can be several minutes before it’s reflected in Trakt .

This just sort of results in a lackluster experience as a user, and this keeps me going back to Watcht for now.

I’ll stick with Watcht

I’ve been using Watcht for a few years now. I always thought the Watcht app was the official this app app but I guess not. I tried the new this app app for a few episodes and found it nowhere near as easy to use. I do use the this app website periodically when I happen to be at the computer but still find the watcht app more intuitive. I’m going to stick with Watcht and hope this app takes some lessons with how easy it is to keep track of episodes in that app.

Some examples
- Watcht let’s you page through episodes or mark what you watched on the season main screen. For this app that seems to be a multiple step process. There is a clear indicator of what episodes I’ve marked watched so I don’t have to read into it too much.
- Watcht doesn’t have ads mixing in with the content
- Watcht episode screen is much simpler and has everything I want up front with no clicking to expand / collapse including last watched date, actors, comments right there.
- I’m not seeing a good history view of what I actually watched. Watcht history is much better

A good start

A long awaited app is finally here! Onboarding process is pretty good, but the way to track watched shows isn't intuitive. You have to press the red button in the top right, but the other buttons are the same as the this app website.

I discovered I could swipe to the next episode by pulling from the side. But I suspect many users won't.

Also...I wanted an ad-free option. Even if I gotta pay for it.

Not sure who this is for but it’s not for me

The user experience is the polar opposite of what I want a TV tracking app to be. I downloaded Trakt to start tracking what I had watched and what I wanted to watch. Very simple goal.

First thing I do is search for “The Expanse”. Nowhere do I see a button resembling anything close to meaning “I want to watch this show”. All I see is “add to collection” which immediately “collects” (whatever the heck that means) ALL episodes of the show or a button to add it to a list. Okay, I think to myself, let’s create a list to track TV shows I want to watch.

Now I want to mark Season 1 as already watched so I can start from Season 2. Tap the checkmark button and the only options I see are “check in” (what?) on episode 1 or add the ENTIRE show as watched. I accidentally mark the entire show as watched and now there’s no way to undo that.

At this point I’m done, I’m better off using a spreadsheet.

Finally don’t have to use the webpage

I’ve been on the beta for Trakt for awhile, and while it had some bumps in the beginning, it’s now an awesome app that makes it easy to track the shows and movies your watching. I’m glad I don’t have to use the webpage on mobile and struggle to add things through there. Love what you’re doing this app team, and I’ve been a VIP for 4 years and plan on staying one for years to come!

Finally!

So happy to finally have an app! I've been using this app to keep track of what I'm watching for a while now. There's another app I've been using to sync with this app as well, but there are still things I go right to this app to do, so I'm happy that there's an official app available now! So far it seems to work well and feels a lot quicker/smoother to use than the mobile web app does.

So close to perfect, and yet.

Genuinely love the this app UI and have grown very fond of it after departing from Letterboxd, due to this one having both TV and Movies. Unfortunately it’s the lack of general features in Trakt version, even though found on the website, that makes the this app App fall short. Why can’t I see the ratings my friends have given what they watched on Trakt ? Nearly perfect.

Ads

Trakt has potential and I was optimistic when I got the email today that Trakt has launched. But then I saw the first ad... and I was out. Give me an option to pay to remove ads, but for now it's a deal breaker.

Update: developer said to contact them directly, as there might be other options to remove ads. Great!

Needs adjustments

App was great until a recent update.

The track this show/movie butter MUST be reverted to let us choose to (watching now/just finished/other date), instead of the irritating way it does it now which is only just finished.

To actually “check in” for something I’m watching now, I now need to take multiple steps, tap the track button, tap the history button, tap the check mark on the item I just “watched” that I haven’t watched yet in reality, and THEN tell the system I’m watching now, followed by deleting the original tracking.

This is irritating, and I KNOW you can have it work as letting us select, when we tap track, you had it that way before. Either revert back or add a check in button!

Nice addition

I like the new app. I know you can make your own lists, but I’m having trouble finding popular lists that are already available, whether made by other members or by this app.

By

Extremely Useful

this app was already strong as a website, and Trakt makes logging on this app much easier to do on the move. Trakt design is clean, satisfying, and user friendly. Ads are not too intrusive from what I’ve experienced so far. I’m a huge fan and will definitely continue using Trakt a lot.

Excellent app

Lovely app that does exactly what I need—update my watch list and collections, rate and comment on shows/movies/individual episodes. Very nice app. I’m a basic user so I don’t use most other features so I can’t give a review on those aspects like other reviewers, but for the simple stuff this works like a charm.

Just not there yet

I really wanted to like Trakt but it just isn’t there yet. The layout isn’t user friendly. I tried but could never find a way to untrack tv shows. The “Watch next” page isn’t pleasant to look at. iShows has a much more pleasing look. I really like that it’s connected to your streaming services for quick access to shows but we need to have more customizable options.

It’s about time!

One of the best sites ever for keeping track of all the movies and stuff you watch finally has an app! I love writing personal reviews and rating movies, discovering new things to add to my watchlist etc.... I’m into knowing what my favorite movies are, and this app helps me build my top lists.

Extreme Happiness

I’ve been using this app for 8 years now and I absolutely love being a part of the progression! This is something I’ve been using on a daily basis since I found out about it and it just keeps getting better and better! Thank you for creating it!!!

You are finally here.

Here are the feedbacks:
1. Hide movie or TV related information for those who only tracks movie or TV shows;
2. Show weekday in calendar mode (upcoming schedule);
3. Hide no show day option in calendar mode, so as to remove empty cells;
4. Add movie and TV show cover in calendar mode;
5. Auto adjust the size of up next / continue watching;
6. Add option to show/hide each cell in home tab;
7. Move watching habits to me tab;
8. Complete the information of the TV show « Samayou Yaiba » (the one in 2021);
9. Correct the air time for « Trying » (AppleTV+).

Thanks ;)

Already switched

For some reason I had been using the “watcht” app and I’ve already deleted that and switched to this. Much cleaner. Some of the text needs more contrast but that’s it.

Needs usability adjustments to truly shine.

For something as common as marking an episode as watched, the user should be able to do that the easiest of anything. This is not currently the case. The Watcht app (uses the this app backend), while having its own usability issues, at least allows the user to quickly check off watched episodes from the season overview list without having to do multiple steps starting with having go into each specific episode’s info page. This becomes tedious if you’ve missed a few episodes and you just want to check them off to accurately depict your completion status. The short/long swipe-right functionality should be used in this case instead of taking you to the next season.

I like the minimalist and clean design of Trakt . It’s overall more intuitive than Watcht, but it still could offer a better/more logical user experience.

No list search?

I was using watcht for this app until I saw you had the official this app app. I was super excited and downloaded it right away. For the most part, the interface is great and easy to use. However, I can’t access my liked lists or search for lists. Please please add this into your search feature!!

By

Worth the wait

Very well designed and easy to use. I love the From Your History list for actors.

Please add Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores in, though. I find those essential when browsing.

By

trakt scores again!

I am SO excited to see this app launch their official iPhone app! The graphic design and functionality is well done. I think any user will really enjoy Trakt. Bravo!

By

Finally!!!!

I’m so glad they came out with their own app. Now I can stop using all the crappy 3rd party apps that connect to this app. Job well done & keep up the good work.

By

Amazing!

I’ve been using Trakt for a while as a VIP member and I must say it’s awesome and super convenient.

All the great things this app offers but now mobile!

Thank you!

By

Finally the official app!

I was tired of using other apps that couldn't get it right.

Welcome, Trakt App!

Pretty and efficient. Always room for expanded functionality, of course. Suggestion: Sort filters for the Collections queues. An auspicious beginning. Kudos!

Trakt now in the App Store!

Beautiful User Interface.
I will be using Trakt daily.

Last week I was searching for the this app App, and thought when will they release an app?
I immediately downloaded it after I saw the announcement on their website.

Thank you, this app team.
