VooV Meeting Reviews

I recently dialed in for a VooV Meeting which was set up by another person using one of VooVMeeting ’s US access numbers. Few weeks later I received an international call bill from my service provider for over USD 700 for the meeting call. Apparently, VooV app dialed a Chinese number without users awareness. Two other meeting participants incurred international call charges as well.

I tried to contact Tencent for help, but the answer was “we couldn’t duplicate the problem, so we couldn’t help you...”

I can see now why Trump administration is trying to ban Tencent’s apps, such as Tiktok and WeChat.

I have tried to create my VooV account several times hoping this is fixed. So, I am an expat living in China. I have only a Chinese cell phone number. When I try to create my account, it says, “No, if you are a mainland China use, you must use Tencent Meetings.” However, Tencent Meetings is not in the US APP store where I get my Apps! So, therefore I cannot use Tencent Meetings nor can I use VooV. Kind of a big problem for all of the teachers right now in my situation trying to teach our classes using software that is stable in China. Zoom and Skype are not that stable.
So, what am I supposed to do?

I use this software to have meetings with my colleagues in China but it is still missing two key features that zoom has :-( The first one is being able make to draw annotations over the shared screen with the cursor and the second is being able to watch videos with audio from the presenters shared desktop view.

I use Zoom for the many meetings that I have had online in the US but was having trouble with it using meetings between Boston where I am and my students in China. Using VooV here while my students use TenCent Meeting has worked extremly well over the course of many classes.

You need to sign 3 consents just to get VooVMeeting open, and you must provide your phone number. VooVMeeting also probes your local network like printers and your company network structure. The video and audio ids not synced (lags around 1s) and all data goes through China Tangent, as a result even a connection between New York and Beijing or London has 5s lag between speakers. Horrible!
Just use zoom or Skype or anything else really.

Hi, I think you can change the region of App Store and iPhone to China mainland. Then you will have access to “Tencent Meeting”. Hope it helps.

I wonder why I can’t create an account with my mainland phone number? The problem is you don’t have the tencent meeting on the Us App Store! Several months passed and it still wasting ppl’s time like this. Can’t you fix this problem? Or zoom is much better why not using it🤦🏼‍♂️

Are we able to record? I would like to record a few classes. I'm teaching from the US to Chinese university students.

Also, if I play a video, they cannot hear the audio if I'm in full screen.

Unable to send messages in group video calls. Happened on my M1 MBP. Otherwise, it works pretty well. I hope this bug gets fixed soon!

Force user sign up with mobile phone, and Chinese mainland have another junk app which user must switch after select +86 mobile number.
I have enough good meeting app for daily use.
Tencent is no longer a great company anymore.

After installed VooVMeeting, one day later my Google accountwas hacked,VooVMeeting log in my Google account and transfer the files in the Google hard driver and the images

No need to build a attendee list beforehand, among other unique features.

Record button disappears right after start or join a meeting

Reconnecting.... most free ones are better than this one yet our custom insist to use this and spend most time in meeting how good this is.
And we can’t question any issue of VooVMeeting......

There is no join meeting option! You need to give Tencent your mobile phone number to use it under the name of verification! Why Tencent want my mobile number for?

Could you enable sound sharing in the presentation mode?

Accidentally entered the wrong date of birth and the software doesn’t allow me to use anymore and doesn’t allow me to change. So stupid!

Had connection issues with everyone else. Wouldn't let me sign in after logging out. Could not use at all >:(( Very bad reviews

Zoom is overloaded now and has performance and sign up issues. Voov is an alternative that is free for up to 300 user meetings. It is made by TenCent and has better infrastructure backing it up, meaning fewer issues. Both are developed by the Chinese, but Voov doesn’t send your data to Facebook like Zoom does.
