Nope

If you have to watch a video just to design a simple snowflake block, the interface is ridiculous. It should be a pretty straightforward thing. On to looking for a better app. My degree is from MIT in, basically, user interface. Getting started and doing something really simple should be intuitive. A 9 patch and a couple triangles should be obvious. Beyond that, sure, requires figuring out and diving into the manuals. Requiem got video tutorials means it takes way to long to learn anything. Video tutorials should be an option, but not the basis, to documentation.

Desperately needed quilt app

Quilters need a quilt app for easy quilt designing; this isn’t it. This is NOT user friendly. Give us some drag and drop options that are easy to access. Quilters shouldn’t have to watch multiple tutorials just to get started. I am very computer literate; Quiltler2 is VERY hard for me to use. Someone with minimal computer knowledge will walk away from this in a heartbeat. I will keep watching and waiting for simple quilt design app. This isn’t it.

Very clunky and difficult to use

Quiltler2 for designing is more frustrating than anything. None of the tools are logical and require multiple taps to do one thing. Good if you are making a quilt that are the same size blocks, but very frustrating if you are trying to do more modern or create your own quilt with different size blocks throughout. Back to my graph paper, pencil and calculator I guess.

Didn’t meet expectations

I spent over an hour watching tutorials and trying to create the design I wanted. I could not find a way to add sashing around blocks or a boarder to the quilt. I also was unable to create a simple 9 patch block or add measurements within a block to help calculate how much fabric I needed. I tried emailing with my questions but never heard back. In the end I just went back to drawing it on paper and figuring out my own math. It’s not a horrible app, I just could not do want I would expect when designing a quilt.

I tried

I gave up after I couldn’t get through the first tutorial. I understand the need to sell ads, I really do, but the first ad was too annoying (an ad for tires in a quilting app?). Even worse, I couldn’t figure out how long the ad was or if I had to watch the whole thing. Three times I touched the screen and got sent back to the beginning of the first tutorial, where I would fast forward and then get sent back to the same super annoying ad. I gave up and deleted Quiltler2 . There should really be some instruction on the first few pages because it definitely isn’t intuitive. I feel bad giving Quiltler2 a one star rating since I didn’t actually get to the part where I could use it, but I don’t think it deserves a 5. Since I have to give it something I’ll meet half way and give it a 3. You’ll have to decide for yourself if you can take the highly ridiculous ads ( or just buy it do you don’t have to decide).

Block design now requires subscription

I updated Quiltler2 and found that I can no longer design my own blocks. When I had first purchased Quiltler2 I could. Disappointed, but I understand it costs money to continue developing a product. Would rather just pay for incremental updated app versions though than have to subscribe in order to use a feature I was able to use at original purchase.

Nice!

A pretty good app! I wish I could select multiple blocks at once and change all their colors at the same time or copy and paste them all together to shift the design over. But I will say the free version is pretty good!!

Finally

I’ve been looking for an app like this for a long time. It really helps you visualize how your fabrics will look in whatever design you choose to make. It’s a little hard to learn, but once you get the hang of it, you will not be able stop playing with it.

Cool app

Somewhat of a learning curve but they do give a warning about that fact, and they offer very quick tutorials that explain features well. If you stay patient and keep trying it’s worth it. Cool app.

It’s just fun

I just started using Quiltler2 and am already really enjoying it. The tutorials are well done; informative and quick. I really appreciate how much thought has gone into making this a user friendly app.

Great Quilting app, second only to full version

Quiltler2 gives you a fantastic set of tools to help you design blocks, design quilts, and manipulate blocks within quilt design layouts! I highly recommend the full version. But I am grateful for this light one, because I would never have spent $ on the full version otherwise.

So worth the effort!

I wanted to create my own designs wherever Using my phone. My first quilt I just watched a couple of the tutorials to get started and when I had trouble I went and searched for the tutorial to show me how to do the next thing. Took my about 3 days to finish the design and one day to create 5 different layouts for my blocks with my fabric. Total game changer for me.

Love, love, love.

Great features and stellar service

I am new to using the Quiltler 2 app but am loving it so far. I enjoy the quick (just a few seconds, usually) and straightforward tutorial videos to learn how to navigate the various features of Quiltler2 .

What I’m most impressed with is Chris’s speedy responsiveness to email inquiries, and his incredibly fast updates to Quiltler2 . I recently emailed about an “issue” with blocks not continuously rotating when you tap multiple times. It turns out that this is the current expected behavior. BUT! Chris added the feature literally the next day. It’s so special that my inquiry went directly to the person who develops Quiltler2 . I feel so good about spending money on a ‘small business’ operation like this. Give Quiltler2 a try!

Pretty good for a lite version

There were some bug issues when I first tried Quiltler2 but since they have been addressed I’ve really enjoyed designing quilts with it. It’s a really great app to learn the system but there are limitations since it’s the free version. However, there’s an upgrade app that allows for more flexibility and based on my use of this one, I’ll likely purchase it.

One of A Kind

Quiltler2 is truly fantastic and such a bargain for the free version. The handy tutorials are concise and informative. It provides a simplistic, yet well executed user interface that becomes easier as you use it. I only have one recommendation for improvement - it would be game changer to be able to upload an image from our camera roll to fill the background/foreground.

Great Quilt Design App

I’ve been quilting for about 15 years and needed a great way to have full control of my quilt designs. This is definitely Quiltler2 ! I tried the Lite version first and love it so far. It’s got everything you need to design a great quilt. The designers have a ton of how-to videos to guide in learning Quiltler2 . The videos are really easy to follow and cover pretty much all the features. The designers are super responsive if you have any issues with Quiltler2 . So looking forward to creating my quilts using Quiltler2!

So far so good

I just finished the basics of my first quilt. I managed to design a block, rotate and recolor it until I had something similar to what I wanted to create based on a test block I’d already made. I can see what the pattern will look like before I do any more blocks. The only thing I encountered that really slowed me down was that I couldn’t figure out how to make the ruler extend across the block layout page so I could place my point in an exact place opposite the ruler.

Love this program

The program can be a bit confusing UNLESS you watch the tutorials. I was importing pictures and creating block collections in under 10 minutes.

I’ve just started exploring half square triangles and optical illusion quilts. Quiltler2 has already saved me a lot of time. No more graph paper.

I love that it allows me to take photos of fabric and use them in your quilt design. I can actually see the quilt before I even cut the fabric. Really see the quilt.

Thanks for making this app - love it!

I was a little confused when first starting Quiltler2. Watch the tutorials and then if you still have questions they answers questions pretty fast. I used the pattern from the last quilt I did to learn how to use Quiltler2 . I’m loving it more and more. I’ve been using an excel spreadsheet to try and make my patterns; this allows you to actually import pictures of your fabric so you can really see what your quilt should look like. Still have to figure out the yardage needed for each but this is quite an improvement.

Great quilt design app

Quiltler2 is awesome for mapping out quilt design ideas. It takes a bit of playing around but for the most part the interface is very straightforward. I appreciate having Chris, Quiltler2 developer, easily accessible to answer questions!
