They Closed out my life Ins policy w/o good reason

I have been a loyal customer since the early 90’s I received a letter stating that I owed $ 408 and because it’s past due they are canceling my life insurance when I called I was on the phone for over an hour and finally someone answered finally I asked them why I owe this amount they said they raised my monthly payment from $110 to $123 in November of 2019 !! What is the problem o said you are still taking $110 I don’t understand I never received an email or letter telling me that it was raised so they continued and said that the balance is the difference from November till till August 2020 are you kidding me every time the raise the monthly payment they just take the new amount monthly so the policy WAS CANCELLED and they said I have to wait till a receive the cancellation letter then I can pay the balance and reinstate the policy That’s a whole load of crap I couldn’t even pay it online before the cancellation I just received the letter it was dated August 25,2020 I got it September 19,2020
This Company used to be the best now I don’t know what they are doing BE CAREFUL CHECK YOUR POLICY ONLINE

Site does not have adequate tracking detail

We use this for my wife’s 403 b plan deposits. The site does not provide the ability to show deposit information over time as all other financial institution sites I utilize. We brought this to their attention a few times. We were told it’s in the next update but there has been minimal if any improvement. There weren’t many choices for 403 b so it is what it is. Thankfully the majority of our investments are with institutions that have responsible deposit and balance tracking information.

I can’t get anyone to pick up the phone

I need to get through to speak to a person urgently, but cannot get through! I have waited on the phone for periods of 45+ minutes TWICE trying to get through to speak to an attendant, and nobody ever picks up. I have logged onto the website and set up an account, but the screen says, Sorry, something went wrong. We are working on it now.” I cannot see my account info. No email option is given for service. PLEASE FIX THIS!

Not very user friendly for login

Equitable does not allow pasting a password as do most other financial apps I use. I have 16 character password that is unique to this account and not one to easily remember. My password is stored in an encrypted app on my phone so I can copy it and then paste it, but not with Equitable.
Also found the support phone number in Equitable and pressed it, but it wouldn’t dial the number. Most other apps allow dialing a phone number by just touching it.
They need to up their game on Equitable.

Such a poor reflection of the company

I’m very happy with this app, but Equitable is mind boggling bad. It just took over 2 minutes to login. That’s two minutes of spinning loaders (yes plural, there were two spinning at the same time). And then when it finally does log in, there’s not data loaded… it still has to load all my account data. What in the world happened that it took 2 minutes to just log in? Please fix this horrendously broken “app” (app is in quotes because this is clearly a lightly wrapped web view)

Terrible App Performance

Equitable is so slow to load. It takes more than 10 seconds to show my balance!! Terrible API performance. This is unacceptable for a modern app. If it were not for good service from my advisor, I would dump this app. I know banking transactions happen at a snails pace are ridiculous anyways, but having a wire transfer from one of my investment accounts to my this app account take multiple days to show up in this app is very frustrating as well as preventing any market gains from accruing in my account in the interim.

Who built this website.??

Thank you for asking for my customer feedback. In short, there is absolutely nothing that is customer friendly! Please require everyone in your IT Dept. to open several types of personal accounts. Try to navigate among accounts. Nightmare!! Then check out Voya, Fidelity, Ameritrade, to name a few. Each of these companies have comprehensive, intuitive web sites. I cannot express how frustrated I am with my accounts being held with this app. The sole reason my money is here; I'm very comfortable with our Financial Planner.

App has never worked for me

I can’t even get into Equitable . I was made aware of its existence while logged in to my account from my desktop. I keep getting a vague “something went wrong error.”

This error message immediately reminded me why I didn’t have Equitable . I had deja vu all over again. This must be my 3rd time trying their app and deleting it after it doesn’t work (I have to log in thru safari).

Honestly find this app (and AXA before this) to have the worst online tools. The only saving grace is that I basically put money in and don’t need to do much with it otherwise this poor app and equally poor website would make me switch institutions.

App needs work

App takes long to load between pages. It doesn’t give enough details about your account, specifically account history. Being able to see how the account was performing, let’s say a year back to present is not possible. If it is, it’s not a user friendly way and impossible to navigate to. Would be great to be able to see past history in the form of analog or a graph to present time. When trying to navigate to web page from app, it quickly diverts you back to the underperforming app with inadequate graphs that only show minimal information.

Stay Away!

Full disclosure, this review is less about Equitable and more about this app the company. My spouse has been trying to transfer funds and it seems they deliberately make the process very painful compared to other financial firms we have done business with. If you want to transfer money, or do a rollover, she needed a special form that needed to be mailed to her. The advisor never returns calls, and it feels like things are deliberately complex and cumbersome to prevent people from leaving the firm. Overall, one of the worst customer experiences we’ve had, and would absolutely not recommend doing any sort of business with this app.

Room for improvement

The Website is okay to access basic policy info. There are a number of functions I cannot do online, some are due to the limited nature of our portable group policy. I cannot change my personal info, receive e-notices, pay premiums or set up an automatic premium pay plan. Besides these limitations, while using a mobile device, I got stuck on a page and could not get off until I restarted my device. There is room for improvement.

Not setup for mobile viewing

App is not very helpful as a mobile app to review investments. Can not view categories without swiping across to read entire line of a particular investment and it will not rotate to make it possible to view the entire width of screen. It’s just not made for viewing on a mobile phone. So each time I use Equitable after getting frustrated with it I close it down and go to the PC to read without the aggravation.

Very limited function, often not working

Equitable is OK when it works, but often, at critical times it returns a “something went wrong” during login. This forces me to go to a computer and login to the website to view my account. Very annoying. What’s the point of having a mobile app if it’s so unreliable?

Poorly built

Equitable is just poorly built. I can see my funds, which is great, but why is half of the screen cut off? Why are the tabs off to the far left? Why is it easier to navigate on the computer when it’s supposed to be more convenient on the phone app? Great idea but y’all need to work on this to make it more stable. Equitable just feels broken. College students have made better apps.

Worst service ever!

I thought I would get something better than the regular website, but it is the same. I never had any reason to need service since I purchased the policy 46 years ago until last Monday. I called the toll-free number and was on hold for 2 1/2 hours! I finally get through only to be told that they could not help! I was given 3 numbers to call. One was disconnected, the second hung up, and the third had me leave a message and never called me back. I then found a list of agents, picked one, sent two emails, and guess what? Never got an answer. I guess the next trick is to call the number to report a death and see if they will at least direct to someone!!! There’s more, but I’m tired of typing.

Too slow

Equitable does not give updates in real time or with short delay. In our up-to-the second world we now live, I find this a bit annoying.

Also, Equitable does not allow me to stay signed in and although it allows to choose Face ID, it does not actually work.

Web sit

Your website is extremely slow and cumbersome, and there is absolutely no data that tells you what was invested and how your stocks are doing.

Useless

I’m assuming there was an update to Equitable and something changed recently. The layout of Equitable has become very difficult to navigate. It also takes forever to load. I wish they would revert back to the old version

My professional advisor

My financial advisor has made and is making wise decisions regarding my investments.
Additionally he is available when I ask him advise , he is most professional and communicates clearly. He is a keeper!

Unable to launch

That app freezes all the time, it has been completely impossible for me to get in for the past 48 hours.
