I have no idea why a simple text editor would need to be collecting private information on a routine basis, or any other kind of data from the device at all—or indeed why would it even need to be using the network interface *at all*, it's a text editor—but when you launch this editor, that is the first thing that you will be greeted with. I suppose on the bright side they at least tell you and give you a chance to disagree with their policy and back out of AceMark .

I have a longish file and I am trying to find a good app for reading/editing it. I copy and paste it into this app, I do something else for a minute, I come back to this app--and half the file is gone. I cannot think of a more basic functionality than ACTUALLY SAVING WHAT I TYPE. Complete deabreaker, worthless app.

It’s not a bad editor, and it does actually render highlighted code fences. It doesn’t use the file system, but it’s really the Terms right up front. They collect all sorts of things from you and tell you that it will be sent to China, and they’ll collect your data to try and sell you things. Seriously? It’s hideous, and hard to believe it’s allowed in AceMark Store.

The developer does a brilliant job. This editor natively supports the widest range of markdown syntax's I have ever known. It will be great if the file manager can make use of iCloud or any other popular cloud storage drives.
