I travel to numerous countries on business and concur with all the reviews that suggest this product doesn’t work as advertised. I have literally followed all of the manufacturer’s recommendations because I really needed the product to work, but unfortunately it simply does not. While using this app I have used a translation app (both Google Translate and Papago) simultaneously on different device and achieved far superior results. These have now been collecting dust in my desk drawer after spending countless hours trying to make them work and experiencing frustrating/embarrassing situations in front of clients.

It says here that they don’t collect personal information but when you launch Timekettle you must agree to their privacy policy. They specify that they collect any and all the personal information they can on your phone and if you accept their policy you agree to giving them the right to share that information. How is this an approved APP here? Timekettle should either be bounced off the store or the privacy policy should be one that isn’t a declaration that your private information is up for grabs.

Got M2 for my travels to South America for six months and I was having issues in America but I gotten what I thought was fixed but when I got here Timekettle and the earbuds just do not connect with each other when I was working on getting them fixed they will immediately disconnect and then I have to reset everything which makes it super frustrating I might as well just use Google translate for free and avoid $140 I spent… DO NOT BUY THESE! Just use google translate for free. Great concept horrible execution

We have had these for over 2 years in our schools and we just can’t keep supporting them. Timekettle is not friendly on iPads at all which is all the kids use. We need the translation timing and accuracy higher and iPad native design. If that happened I think we could get to 5 stars but in their current state it truly feels like a 1-2 star product.

I travel to Peru quite often, my wife is from Peru and sometimes I need help understanding my in-laws. I'm extremely disappointed in this product. They are great for music, but it lacks in translation. They’re not very accurate and they are very slow to translate. I’ve recently bought a different translator and will that and hopes that the translation technology is better.

I recently got a this app for my travels and I used it while I was in Mexico and I would say the accuracy for this product is probably somewhere in the 20% range. Me and my friend where frustrated. such a great idea with low functionality. I thought this was going to help me reach people that I couldn’t talk to before. It does that but on a very low level. The good thing is it holds a charge well and it has an offline mode that will at least give you an option to try to use it with friends. Please make this product better.

The translation part seems good, but speaking simple English phrases confuses the voice recognition system greatly. My daughter wanted to say, “Please May I have your napkin.” It never picked up the final word across 10 tries by three different people, both hand-held and on the table. It mostly got the other words. Mostly. But basically I don’t see how I could use this except when typing in words. Which is not what I bought the Kickstarter microphone for..

I had previous products from this app. Now getting the WT2 edge and the translation couldn’t be any worst. Speaker mode listens to the mic when saying it out loud and translate it very horribly. At the very least mute the mic when saying the translation out loud, so it’s not picking any unwanted feedback.

The 2nd ear piece keeps disconnecting. You gotta be kidding me if you think this is a product. This is an alpha test device. It’s no where near polished.

This company has dropped quality by so many tiers. It’s like a kids toy that malfunctions… out of 5 sentences I said it picked up one correctly… 20% accuracy.

Got ripped off from a Chinese five dollar product. Selling for a hundred dollars.

Rather than telling me to contact support how about fix your product? There is nothing you can do from my end. Telling me to reset the device or “make sure I got the latest update” (when I already do have the latest) isn’t going to fix the product.

Spend some money on good programmers and get some firmware updates to fix these issues.

I am using the WT2 Edge to try and have basic conversations between Spanish (Colombian) and English (USA) but it has been extremely frustrating. There are significant 5 second plus delays and the English earbud is frequently unintelligible. It also seems to translate phantom words. The Spanish earbud also has significant delays but the translation as usable but poor. This occurs either with high speed internet or 4/5 G cellular network. We have given up and use other free translation apps where you speak directly into the phone with much more functional communication. I will try to work out these issues with support before completely giving up of this product. It absolutely does not offer what is advertised.

As a teacher with mane English learners (some who speak no English) I thought this would be a big help. One student has a translation app that does MUCH better than this. Don’t buy. Not worth the money. I am sorry I supported this on Kickstarter. I hope they can improve the product so I can change this rating. The IDEA is a good one!

Timekettle crashes a lot during conversation. I like it because if I want to have a serious conversation (without texting or typing translations) this is the only way. Of course Timekettle misinterprets our words sometimes but this is all we have for now. If this product was improved and updated, I would definitely buy a better version or new headset. It pisses me off when we have serious conversations and it crashes in the middle of my sentence. However, I keep my this app headset with me on every trip abroad.

The translations and everything all work great, but I’m a little lost. In the manual it says there’s 5 functions including the “Learnanywhere” but on my app there’s only 4? I don’t know if it’s my model of the headsets (the WT2 Edge) or if I need a plug-in or something along those lines. The manual shows the option as gray instead of blue so I can’t click on it so I’m probably being dumb but I can’t find any information on it.

I purchased the this app M3 translator earbuds so that I could speak with my Russian girlfriend, and they have worked out fairly well except I continually have a problem that when she speaks, it does not translate right away, and I always have to ask her to repeat what she said. It seems if there’s any delay in conversation then it goes into a sort of sleep mode and wakes up when conversation starts, but doesn’t always want to translate what it said until the next full thing is said. I have also noticed the accuracy of the translation could be better as some of the things that have been translated have almost started a fight between us. Lol. I can work around the translation, but it would be great if it was more accurate.

I am using this at work, and it allows me to talk to clients when someone who speaks Spanish is not available. Usually, I’m working with a new client in a quiet environment, so I use speaker mode. Both of us like that we can read the text to ensure it heard us accurately. I also used it to translate text.
I will occasionally use it to listen to discussions between the client and case manager, but the conversation is usually too fast, though I am able to catch a few details.

Incredible. Response time on WiFi is nearly simultaneously to input! Clarity excellent. Mind you, I e only tried the Chinese. But have Hispanic neighbors whom I will try out next! So far exceeds my expectations. This is on my my first few minutes of using the product and I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with this product. I am real. I am NOT being paid to write and post this review. I am very critical about my devices and need them to work as described. WT2 plus exceeds my expectations. Did I say that already? Well, it's worth repeating!!
Your search is over, if you are looking fir a travel translator companion. I've been abroad 12 years using iPhone translating apps. This far exceeds all apps I've used thus far!!!!!
Worth a try!

I bought the WT2 Edge to communicate with my girlfriend. I am American, She is Venezuelan. Upon first try, the translators worked about 99%. I had poor connection which was my carriers issue. But when the phone had perfect signal, they performed flawlessly. You have to be a little patient with difficult names but if you speak clearly these translators perform very well!

It works pretty good, not perfect, but completely acceptable. There is a short lag in the conversation, but it is certainly better than handing a device back and forth. It is a little pricey, but if you need a translator, it is worth it.
Is it perfect, no, but it is better than other translators I’ve tried.

The sound quality in the Time Kettle earbuds is better than other realtime translators I have tried. Translates quickly in the online mode. I will be downloading the offline language pack to use when internet is not fast or available in the rural areas of my travels to Spain and Peru. Online chat with support representative was very helpful and resolved my questions.

It is a great product for people that can’t read. You can totally use google translate and be ok to translate without this device. However, I love being able to talk and hear in my language as I am speaking to someone that speaks another language. The review I saw said they can’t hear anything on or off but there is a setting that turns off the feedback I wonder if they had that off. I’ve used mine only a few times but I love them. It’s so nice when I’m teaching I can give the ear bud to the person that does not understand english and I can speak English and they hear Spanish…

I like the ear buds and think they are cool. I also go around listening to people that speak Spanish and think i can’t understand.

I had tried to update my review last year but will leave this new one, i’ve been very happy with all the updates. There has been some issues along the way, but the developers have been working them out, but for the most part, this translator has been with us since the beginning of our relationship when we couldn’t understand anything without using this translator. This is let us be able to look at each other in the eyes and talk to family dinners attend church services together be able to build a relationship with each other‘s family without having a language barrier we use this from movies, bowling alleys, dinners, carnivals, just taken drives in the middle of the night and talking about nothing and everything and I wanted to update my review because today i’ll be taking this to listen in as we have our second meeting with the pastor. When I bought the translator two years ago to be able to speak in communicate with a friend and overtime that friend became a fiancé and I will say this translator did have a big part of that, many hours of translations ran through the translator I’ve been able to listen in. I’ve been able to join in and our family has been able to be a part and I’ve seen this product grow from the beginning, but what’s kept me pleased is the developers are always adding updates they listen to the problems and they work on them, and when you’re done with the project like this things do take time continue to use the product and be a customer.
