Everything was going fine with HOLLA until I received a message from this app stating that I had a temporary ban for inappropriate behavior. There was no explanation stating what exactly that means. I did not do anything inappropriate, especially considering all the guys I see on this site flashing their junk. I emailed the this app team to question them about my ban, but they never got back to me. this app then sent me a message saying I either have to wait 1008 hours or pay 1000 coins to have my ban lifted. I paid the 1000 coins, so I could continue to use match preferences. The ban was lifted, but before I could even chat with anyone else I received a new message stating that because of more inappropriate behavior I had a permanent ban, and I lost out on all my coins. I had not even spoke to a person since my temporary ban was lifted, but somehow I was being inappropriate. I think this is some kind of scam by HOLLA in order to get you to pay 1000 coins.

Every time I get on I just see the same people hardly anybody new the more and more I see them the more I realize there likely fake and bots, everything got borked since that “spotlight update” which I still don’t know what that is , on top of all the fake cam people I get, the ones that are actually real are all mostly 18 ,now I’m not saying I don’t what to match with them anymore but I use to get people around my age range(mid twenties) more often, now I hardly do. I don’t have prime right now so I just turn off the North America on my region preference and I still get only NA more often then not then before! Again I don’t have a problem matching with NA but the mixing of other countries in there is almost none existent , there’s no more variety it’s always 18 and NA I wouldn’t have that much of a problem with that if I got the variety that was there before ...now it’s tiring and I wont get on until it’s patched. Even if I buy tokens and look for a specific gender ..guess what? Same thing with maybe one or two times I see a country I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Hopefully you guys patch HOLLA cause I do enjoy it but right now it’s not enjoyable. Give the variety back and get rid of the fakes, thank you.

I downloaded the a app back in june summer of 2019 and that is when it was at its best. i used HOLLA a lot and made lots of good matches and friends. Ever since it updated though right before the spotlight update it was 11 gems highest to match with preferred gender and you could also get it down to 9 gems per match permanently by matching with people with gems a certain amount of times. NOW all of a sudden it refreshes every month and max gems required is 12 to match with preferred gender. I ALSO perchased prime and in fact it was worse than the free edition of this app because you weren’t able to watch ads anymore to get free gems. also now with the update it asks you if you want to accept when seeing full profile and if i feel as if that was a judgmental issue because i’ve had awesome pick up lines to start a good convo it was never about an image and this was before that update. I DONT KNOW why HOLLA is getting worse when it was soo fun at one point. i didn’t mind buying gems but now it seems like a big rip off. I put in so much time and made much progress on HOLLA just to get jipped. PLEASE FIX THIS FOR THE TRUE this app COMMUNITY! 😭😡

So HOLLA is meh at best so far. Mostly it's just guys so you're basically pushed to buy gems for specific genders. Half the time, you get matched with people who don't even speak English after selecting English only (should be country matching as well). I have also used gems to match with women only to be matched with guys using a profile saying female. A waste of my gems no doubt!

(Edit): so I got into HOLLA again and it has improved on how many creeps there are, and anyone you report for being sexual etc is usually banned within an hour :) but my main problem? I’m 21 and I do NOT like connecting with 13-17 year olds. Please at least let me skip them before we actually connect or let me select an age range I want to speak with (18+ for example) and still, the gems are such a rip off because I’ll talk to a girl for maybe 1 minute and in the middle of a good conversation they just skip. No gem refund even if it’s almost instant. So many rude people too. Just farm gems, have fun in the game section.

I really like the nearby feature you all added, or the concept of it atleast...seems like everyone that matches me is a bot because 99% of them i can asure i never slid left on. It has been maybe about 2 people in the last 8 months that I've actually matched with from the nearby feature who were actually nearby🥴. But i've had this app for a long time, even before this update and i see significant changes in the flow of HOLLA . Before the update HOLLA worked smoothly and nice, now it lags and crashes. When i match with someone its been plentyyy of times where we add eachother as friends and later i go to text them and see that they're not on my friends list. So i go back to see if the persons on my history and its asking me to super message them🤔. Anyways, HOLLA is cool but can you please just fix these simple issues.

Honestly there should be age restrictions to this. The amount of perverted old creeps and children that use this is insane..
The overall principle of HOLLA is astounding. Kind a like standing in the elevator just on your cell phone. Meeting new people from across the world is great but it's probably best that anyone under the age of 18, that's listed should be with their own age group. No adults should be allowed to video chat with random children. Also adult approval by a parent/custodial guardian if underage. From what I've experienced in the past night of using this, it's a pedophiles heaven.
I'm sure anyone with children who has been a part of creating and promoting HOLLA would agree with me.. Keep it up can't wait to see what happens! Hopefully this can be addressed before it hits major news networks.. Or how to catch a predator.. ✌🏻

The fact that you have to pay to talk to the opposite gender consistently is annoying. Considering no guy wants to ever talk with another random guy on HOLLA. If someone were to come out with an app that didn’t charge you for matching with only the opposite sex HOLLA would be out of business tomorrow.. what’s even more strange is that the rest of HOLLA is laid out like a dating app so that’s obviously what they’re going for. The tokens are also very expensive and there is no good way to earn enough to actually make you want to use HOLLA more than a few minutes unless u want to waste your time getting connected to guys who skip you immediately. I feel there are other ways to make money other than just charging for a simple gender matching feature.

HOLLA is pretty cool and a nice way to meet people. I like that you’re forced to speak pretty much face to face. And the blur is really nice for those few people who can’t keep it in their pants. There are just a few things I think that could really use some improvement.
•The messages displayed on screen while searching for a match might need to be on the screen like at least 2-3 seconds longer. Especially for the longer messages.
•Make it easier to get out of a chat that you don’t want to talk to. Like just a plain end call button instead of swiping up. The swiping up option doesn’t pop up immediately.
•Instead of having just a North America button, you should also have an on button for only matching with someone from Europe or other parts of the world as well. I speak German and would love to be able to use that to my advantage!

I’ve had HOLLA for a couple of months and it worked great. The new update ruined it though. One, when you go live you can’t say yes or no to who you match with. You automatically get matched with someone. You get matched with people that are to old or young. Next, I don’t like the new nearby swiping feature. It’s supposed to open from 9-10 but I kept checking yesterday and it never opened. I deleted HOLLA but still never opened. I wish it was open all the time just in case you don’t want to go live. Also I don’t like how you have to pay 100 Gems to see who likes you. Then once you pay, the person is either to old or to young. It is a waste of gems. Honestly, go back to the old this app.

Everytime I get on I meet someone new. I’ve even made friends with local people! I’ve met people from all corners of the map and made actual friendships that I think will last. Prime gives you 30 gems a day which adds up over time. I use HOLLA everyday to gather points for more gems. It’s not like other apps where it’s all about the money. HOLLA actually lets you navigate without paying as long as your cool with meeting new people regardless of gender and are consistently on. this app is helping bring down language barriers even if it’s just smaller simple words the translator translates to your language of understanding. That’s the future if you ask me. Problems only include some not many mean people or non age appropriate stuff which is blocked by there blur effect screen

Its really a cool app that really connects people around the world!!! Unlike other dating apps like Tinder, POF etc, its really young and its brilliant live cards mode kills me!!! Not only can I have instant live video chat with other people, but I also got the right to choose the one I would like to have further conversation after reading their profile!!! Its not like endless waiting for no response, but live swipe live chat immediately!!! Never seen an app bonds people in such a smart and effective way!!! Love it a lot!!!
Well, one suggestion to mention is that really wanna an age filter bc I would like to talk to the same age and make friends in reality 😂

Are you tired of going on omegle and seeing random guys doing playing with themselves? Well guess what? this app doesn’t have that at all! Guys on HOLLA know that if they do that they will get banned. You also don’t have to worry about underage people. Everyone on HOLLA is over the age of 18! Ever since the update they added a feature with built in translate so you can talk to people international without having I worry about translating, and it’s seriously amazing. You meet tons of amazing people on here. Definitely with the download.

I promise I’m not a paid review!!! I originally was using HOLLA monkey which is very similar to HOLLA but I hated monkey cause of how rude and inappropriate people were. On this app, people are banned permanently if they use HOLLA to be rude or disgusting. My only thing is wish this app did that monkey did, is instantly match people who are close to the same age as you. I’m a 17 year old female and on monkey I would get matched with 16-19 year olds only. On this app however, I’ve been matched with 20-24 year olds and that makes me a little uncomfortable. They’ll say stuff like “oh it’s okay to talk cause we’re not doing anything” but it’s still wrong. Other then that though, I love HOLLA and have made a lot of friends on it. Thank you!

HOLLA is by far my most used app, I use it every day and I always come across new friends. I’ve meet people who I now consider “close friends”. HOLLA is always full of fun people.
I’ve been using HOLLA for a few months now and one thing I don’t like is that once I’m out of gems it’s not very easy to get more gems and I really wanna make it easier to get them, also the filters are rarely used so try making different ones like Snapchat does.
Again this is by far my favorite app and my life would be a lot different without it honestly.
