Couple of things

I really like NorthOne and overall I see where they are going with it. However, there is a lot of false/inaccurate information being advertised for NorthOne. FIRST, it doesn’t take 3 mins to setup an account. You can fill it out and submit it in 3 mins, but it’ll be a couple of days before you get an actual account. SECOND, you do not have control over your card. If you lose it you have to contact customer support, no ability to freeze it, change the pin or anything like that, so that feature isn’t operational. THIRD, you cannot integrate with Xero, QuickBooks, or the like. While they display this on the website, claiming its seem less, this option isn’t available. It says “coming soon” in NorthOne , but there isn't a real ETA on this. So overall, promising app, but false and misrepresented information. This brings a lack of credibility as this could really open the company up to a lawsuit. I’m not saying you shouldn’t use it, just giving you a heads up that things aren’t what they’re advertised to be. Also you have to question management. This is an elementary error. Again not saying you shouldn’t use it, just providing full disclosure where they are not.

STAY AWAY!!! HORRIFIC!!!

I opened an account with this bank in November 2020. It took about 5 minutes to provide all my information to open an account. I was approved shortly afterward. The customer service was always helpful and very responsive. The bank sent several emails out stating that they will upgrade all accounts and send out new cards. They keep reassuring us that we would love it and the process would be seamless.....THEN supposedly, the upgrade begins. I go to open NorthOne , and it says we are updating NorthOne , and it will take few minutes. I thought to myself, OK, no worries, I'll wait. The wait has been WEEKS!!! I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY OWN MONEY!!! THIS IS MY BUSINESS AND MY MONEY THAT I WORK HARD FOR! Suddenly customer service is AWFUL, RUDE, AND NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!!! Keatyn from customer service keeps telling me that they need a document from the secretary of state to complete the upgrade to my account. WHAT?!?!? I asked several times to give me MY MONEY AND CLOSE THE ACCOUNT. THEY HAVE NOT!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!! I'm going over to BBB NOW!! Oh, BTW, you should read the reviews on BBB. There are sadly many VICTIMS LIKE ME WITH THIS FRAUDULENT SO-CALLED "BANK"!!!

Simply amazing

Just set up an account and so far totally in love with this bank and app. A total breeze to set up the account and NorthOne interface is beautiful and so easy to use. I have always been so frustrated by the clunky interface of most all the mobile banking apps out there.

As the owner of a mobile app company, I can tell you how important it is to have a seamless onboarding process. this app hits this out of the park. Hats off to you guys for doing such an amazing job.

Closed My Accounts for No Reason, and Lost my $50. No access to anything, or reply to emails.

I NEVER leave reviews. So if I take time from my busy schedule, to write one, it’s transparent and serious.

Long Story: After reading a book that has inspired me to open multiple accounts, I looked for options that would be more out of reach than visiting the neighborhood branch. this app seemed to be a pretty easy option, so why not?

After opening my account and depositing the $50 that it asks you to (which took longer than expected), I then receive an email saying that my account has been locked and is under review for suspicious activity. I reply to the support ticket asking if everything was okay, and if there were any issues with my account. The very next day, I receive a reply from a different representative saying that after further review, my account has been closed. Also that it could be because of the bank’s regulations, and not so much about my activity (which, there was none - I just received the cards today).

Ok, so what about my $50? No response as of yet. I’m not upset at the loss of $50, but it’s the principle of the matter that my accounts were closed, without clear disclosure of reasoning, and now I’m stuck having to explore other options. Very poor experiences with this app.

Short Story: Don’t do it. Lack of CLEAR communication, and I lost money in a seemingly promising bank.

Stay away

I signed up for this account after seeing an ad. I figured if I could save money over my business account that would be great. Over two weeks after signing up I had never received my bank card. It has more fees than my traditional business account did without the services. I did an ach to my business account to remove the money I used to fund the account. So I could close this account ASAP. Two days later my money is no where to be found. This company sent me a response saying hey we send all cards out express. You should receive them in 2-7 days. That’s funny because you chatbot when I hadn’t received my card in 14 days said it could take up 21 days. You only hurt your company by responding I me. My money was moved to another account. Which actually has real time customer service. I repeat avoid at all cost especially for a business account

I have 8 bank accounts and this one was the worst!!

This is the only one I decided to shut down. From the jump they didn’t honor their own sign up bonus “deposit $50 using a friend’s referral link, and get an extra $75”. I should have known this was all a sick scam to convince new comers to sign up.

They have paid out many people but beware now they are just false advertising and attempting to lie to convince people for signing up to this $10/month horrible excuse of a bank. LILLI is so much better, and they’re half the cost for a premium card!! And did I mention they actually pay out their $100 bonus?

These liars ended up closing my account because I called them out on their crap after 4 days of no update.

Great for multiple small businesses!!

I run a full time bakery & have been selling antiques on Etsy on the side for 4 years and North one makes it super simple to keep track of both my payroll and second income w the sub accounts option, and I can integrate it directly with Etsy which is amazing. I switched over from Chase and was previously going between the Chase app and the Etsy shop owner application, now I just use north one for everything! I also love how clear the layout is for expense reports!!

Until today, was looking for wizards a banking Guru, who can hold my hand and walk through the maize of England.
Ah! Whatta relief, hand down I am an online freak, for many years was thinking why the banks aren’t online ? Than they appeared over the globe, business banking was still an issue, recently talked to a large bank whom I am banking with 20+ years, first they excused than Covid-19, than make an appointment, masked and distant socially, whatta drag ?
If your bank can do it why others don’t ? Answer is You comes to the clients and win the business, they are hiding , even though we find them but with their excuses it’s a shame.

Customer service is terrible!

This is the worst banking experience that I’ve encountered. You can’t speak to an actual person on the phone. They will have you schedule a call, yet never call you. Don’t bother trying to email them as they never respond. The only response I received was that they have suspended my account. How dare I ask questions about my money! This isn’t a good product and NorthOne is terribly designed. It’s near impossible to get a check deposited unless you agree to do it instantly and accept the associated fees. Stay away from this disaster! Go open an account at a local bank or credit union and save yourself from the hassle.

Looks good, but no response

Update: Even with technical issues, good customer service would have demanded communication with applicants trapped in a backlog. There was never an email or response from this app explaining what was happening. this app, should be abbreviated at this point to NO. I experienced NO customer service, first hand.

Over 6 weeks ago I submitted my application. I’m still “under review”. Since Azlo was closing, I needed a new account a little sooner than never. I ended up choosing Novo, and they got me right in, even asked if I was applying because Azlo was closing. They were apparently prepared for the influx of new users. My guess is that this app was not and they are still backlogged.

Horrible!!!

First of all, this is the first negative review I’ve even given a company in my life.

I don’t even know where to start.

I wanted this to work. It seemed like a great idea. But boy was I wrong.

First of all, it claims to be a solution for small business owners. But from my experience, it could actually be a problem for your business.

1. It takes entirely too long for your money to show up after you make a deposit. For small businesses, this is not good because we need access to our money ASAP!

2. The dashboard is confusing. Even after my funds said they were available, my debit card still declined. (Embarrassing). And yes my debit card has been active for 2 weeks.

3. If you have an issue and need to speak with a human, you have to schedule a call; which the next availability could be days away.

In my opinion, this could be good for a savings account because you can’t get access to your money when you need it.

Small business owners be ware. I will be withdrawing all of my funds once they become available.

Seems promising. Haven’t received confirmation email.

The sign up process was very easy. I received notifications that I was approved and that my card is on the way. I’m having difficulty confirming the initial confirmation email. I’m still going back and forth with customer service. I didn’t think something so simple would take so long. It has still been unsuccessful after checking all folders adding this app to my address book . This hasn’t been resolved yet, however it’s only been about 12 hours.

Horrible Mobile App Build and Crap Service!

This is probably the worst banking app on NorthOne Store. Our experience with this app has been full of ongoing ridiculousness:

1. Unable to see who/where pending charges are even coming from

2. $1 authorization charges and/or holds stay pending for weeks without resolution (even after the actual charge goes thru)

3. Horrible customer service

4. App constantly confuses and mixes up deposits and charges

5. Instant transfers from PayPal and/or CashApp takes days

6. Ridiculously high (daily) overdraft fees

7. Issues when disputing fraudulent debit card charges

8. Handing your business and personal information to 3rd parties without disclosing it to you

9. They will threaten (or will) close your account for giving negative feedback

The above is just some (of many) issues we’ve experienced with this app while doing business. As of 2021 we will no longer tolerate their financial ignorance, random mishaps, and other shortcomings!

Speeed it Up

So a couple things.

Overall app has a good UI, support are legitimately friendly and actually WANT to help you. Not like most other banks which will give you generic response after generic response and end up not solving a problem “cough cough Revolut”.

(BTW stay far away from Revolut unless you want to create a 5 month long migraine for yourself and your business)

-Best Features of North One-

- $10 Outgoing Wire Transfers

- Ability to deposit cash at ATM’s (rare for Internet Banks)

- Ability to use card with Apple Pay / $ App / Google Pay etc - Generate Invoices

Monthly cost is $10 but well worth it for all the features offered.

Time will tell but currently I’d consider North One them at least top 3 in the business internet banking industry.

Needed this

Owning two businesses means that my entire life revolves around my work. Banking used to be the most time-consuming part of it all, but since I’ve made this switch I can say I have noticed a significant increase in my free time. I always knew running two businesses would be hard, but I wasn’t prepared for the banking part. This has made that challenge a lot easier to deal with.

Just what I was looking for

I own a business that requires a lot of traveling and that used to be a major disadvantage for me. I would have to ensure I was close to a branch at least 3 times a month and plan my entire life around that. Now, I have it all on my phone! Besides not having to go to the bank, I no longer have to deal with banking hours. This is life changing.

Unnecessary banking

Their customer service is pretty good and every interaction has started and ended with professionalism.

The account itself is the issue. I can get a free business checking account from at least 4 surrounding banks. All of those accounts I can get can also connect to mainstream bookkeeping services like QuickBooks and can be accessed through a computer, phone or in person visit. If you have an issue with NorthOne you’re out of luck. Their website just refers you to the phone app.

Their charges are minimal for basic transaction volume ($10) but an unnecessary expense when the same number of transactions can be free.

Their sub account feature is neat and it makes it very simple to visualize your plan for your money. If it’s worth it for you then it is. I do not find that to be true for me.

Words cannot express how much I appreciate this bank App. As a small business owner working in the home improvement/ Real Estate industry there is just no better alternative, and I have been looking for months!

The best feature I love about this bank is that it offers as basic accounting software & built-in invoicing that is combined with your business banking! What a Godsend!

I can go on for hours on how easy to use, visually pleasing, functional, practical & straightforward everything is here. Like signing up took me 5 minutes on my computer

This might be a replacement for quickbooks ok the near future

It’s still brand new!

So far everything looks great. It’s a very well laid out app and very attractive too. I have only set up my account and made a small transaction, but so far I don’t have any complaints. I’m excited to get on track with this fresh new app!
