MEW crypto wallet: DeFi Web3 Reviews

Followed precise instructions from MEW to restore a wallet because it had refused to acknowledge the correct password out of nowhere. After restoring it, the extra accounts that were added to this wallet disappeared, we’re not restorable, and half of the funds that were in the wallet five minutes previous to the restore disappeared. Not one tech at Myetherwallet has any clue what happened, is not even acknowledging the problem and keeps giving the same instructions like they don’t even know the wallet can have more than one account attached to one set of keys. I’m starting to wonder if it’s a robot that is responding. Whoever or whatever it is is not able to comprehend the problem and keeps giving basic instructions over again that are completely unrelated to the serious glitch in their software. They refuse to acknowledge the pictures of my deleted accounts and take days and days to respond. It’s now been weeks since MEW deleted my accounts and still no resolution. This might be the worst customer service I’ve received in I don’t know how long and my next stop is the better business bureau and then the attorney general’s office.

I am relatively new to crypto. When the xrp spark drop was initiated Coinbase didn’t support it and going on the suggestions of the information provided I moved the coins to the MEW wallet. I eventually moved them back. What I didn’t realize was how much it costs to do so. I finally found out what it means now when folk are talking about gas prices. Unfortunate for me is I went there and swapped two different tokens and lost a high percent of my intended investment in gas fees. More concerning is that it seems that the gas price is so high that I may lose the bulk of what I have or thought was an investment in gas fees. Bottom line ...... Unless you are a big time investor stay away from apps like this. It is almost impossible because you will have to pay big fees to do anything. I could have left my money in the bank. This particular app is a money grabber.

Yesterday I was robbed of my Thor rune coins. I received 4000 shares of a token named DoDo egg. The day before I received 2500 coins from Kicool. Never heard of them. Anyway checked my MEW this morning and noticed I didn’t have all my funds. In looking I checked the transaction log. It was sent to another address. You contact MEW and they said maybe next week they would respond. And the first disclaimer without even knowing the situation is your funds are lost for good. You would think the amount of people that are robbed using this wallet they would at least fake a concern. With the amount of money in these coins that they could have a department that could look end to crimes. Just a idea to give people a little confidence in your product.

MEW should be made easier to use in adding wallets for the different tokens like for example with the JAXX wallet or the Ledger hard wallet.
If MEW would provide a better overview of the tokens that can be stored then I would use it more frequently than I do now. The only thing I rate MEWcryptowallet for, is the news updates which I enjoy hence the 3 stars. I hope this feedback will lead to a more user friendly and easier access/overview than what it is now. It has potential if the team behind MEW has the creativity to do so and listens to its users. Thanks guys

I have been in this realm for awhile and MEWcryptowallet is so much better than anything else for ERC-20 and easier than before. Instead of MetaMask now your phone! Simple, fast and safe. I can’t wait to see 10 years from now when we are completely decentralized

Suggests to add funds, then try swapping them to a token to earn interest. $120 later and I still cannot access my own AAVE because MEWcryptowallet over estimates the gas charges to just swap it back to Eth (already lost $30, what’s another 30 to get back 60?)

I currently have $94 sitting and rotting in AAVE that I could use to feed myself because I have $1 to my name, but apparently I must fund my account in order to get my AAVE back.

Straight up deceitful and shameful, To prey on people’s lack of knowledge during a global crisis that has left America, “the leading country”, without food that its citizens can afford.

Easily one of the best apps I’ve seen for iOS in a long time.. also like that they hash and store locally your private key.

I’m wondering tho about how they could afford to offer buy with Apple Pay and that 30% Apple takes..?

I recently bought some eth to send somewhere else and now I am stuck in a loop about my sent transaction is done but nothing is moving. Feeling pretty annoyed.

I have MEWcryptowallet specifically for ethereum. Recently the price has been up and down a lot. MEWcryptowallet by default sends a notification when the price has a quick change of + or - 5%. There’s no way to turn this off per their customer support. Unless you like getting spammed with price notifications, choose another app. I’ve since moved all of my crypto to Coinbase who seems to have notifications figured out.

Firstly the design and the UI is really amazing Intuitive and simple. Exactly what I wanted. Also thanks to MEW I was even able to reclaim lost etherum from another wallet. I had lost my pass phrase, but their private key recovery options worked great.
Keep up the great work.

Super easy to navigate wallet on the phone app able to create wallet addresses to add tokens, airdrops or personal accounts to use instead of your main ether wallet for privacy issues and security. Thumbs up!

After battling for over two months I am out 500 dollars because they will not listen to my emails nor will they recognize the mistake they made. On my public address on Etherscan shows a balance of .759 Ethereum yet on my MEW WALLET app it shows I have a balance of zero dollars. After trying to show this to the support team they refuse to fix this problem and keep telling me that there is nothing they can do.

This wallet is beautiful to look it few dates use it. What a cruel joke. The is no relationship between funding options and gas prices. And frankly the ethereum platform—ETH and all of its related tokens requiring the use of gas in order to make a trade— is so expensive that it should be dubbed the platinum platform.

I have been using my wallet for a while and have a good amount of money in it. As of today it keeps crashing and doesn’t open for more than a white screen. Hope this bug is on your radar and that it’s fixed ASAP. Will delete this review once it’s fixed, other than this HS been a good experience. This is terrible atm though and needs to be urgently fixed.

MEWcryptowallet just feels new and silky. I love how easy it is to buy eth, but I also love the personality that shines through MEWcryptowallet. The animations are adorable and I’m in love with the unique color card that everyone gets.

Tried to use MEWcryptowallet for a basic payment and the fees it charges weren’t enough for the transaction to process. So the transaction failed and my money was frozen! MEWcryptowallet then didn’t have a way to fix this problem like any responsible crypto payment system should so now I’m still stuck waiting for customer service. Don’t ever use!!!!

I’ve had the same balance now for over a month even after doing updates. I have recently sent some tokens to this wallet that have not showed up. I have contacted support but no answer get. Please fix this issue.

This is the worst wallet ever. They appear to be decentralized but recent happenings have made me realize they are just the opposite. The Mew organization rerouted my transactions with uniswap thereby making me lose out on the airdrop opportunity and claiming the funds for themselves. This is close to the worst thing that has happened to me this year. If I could rate this a zero, I definitely would. They should not be allowed to operate.

Lesson learned. Bought Ethereum inside MEWcryptowallet , most of my purchase eaten with transaction fee. Poof. Not the devs fault, but a bigger warning and the option to cancel when you’re about to waste most of your money would be helpful.

First off, the whole thing with charging people $50 once you get your greedy hands on our crypto just to do anything is pretty messed up. I wanted to stake my Skale, but was forced to spend $50 and link my bank to them first. Didn’t like how shady that was so decided I’ll just move my crypto back. Oh no, gotta link that bank account and spend $50 first. Shady, shady, shady!

This is definitely a great mobile wallet from all degrees. Still, adding support that allows user to sort their accounts is a very useful twist.

MEW is just great - very convenient and user-friendly. Very easy to deposit/transfer ETH-based cryptos with no hassle of using different addresses; you use just one ETH address. Cool!

Worked for a couple of transactions but now constantly crashing when trying to send ETH. As soon as “go” is pressed after destination wallet address is pasted, app crashes. Please fix this.

I can finally see my other erc20 token that’s not ether!!! Mewconnect never showed my tokens unless it was eth.
