I started using DriveEasy because it was an option to get my premium lowered in extra 170 for my 6 month contract. All was dandy until I noticed the rating going down despite not being on my phone and doing what was required. It dings you for aggressive turn, hard breaking, and poor handling. I drive a Honda CTR and the car is meant for taking hard turn and has an incredible breaking system on the car. So every time I drive I get a 0 across the board for phone use and have built up a impressive streak of not touching my phone while driving but the way I drive I get destroyed. I honestly think it’s rigged bc I have driven perfect and it still dings me for hard breaking and aggressive turns despite what I do. Big shout out to the scum bag that came up with this idea bc he probably made the company millions of dollars for having premiums raised when people go to renew. Over all spend the extra money and opted out for this it will probably save you a ton of cash when you go to renew your insurance and you can drive however the F you want.

I’m a Automotive Technician, I do a lot of road testing during my work day , not using my personal Vehicle. DriveEasy logs all my road test as my driving and set my miles of driving as high .
Also if I’m a passenger it counts the miles and the driving style towards me. “Yes you can change that in DriveEasy ” who has time to edit every single trip daily .is ridiculous. Honestly geico should send a GPS receiver to work alongside DriveEasy
Like Liberty Mutual System .
One of my drivers in my policy don’t drive much and I get reminder email about making sure all drivers are using DriveEasy in order to keep the discount.
Time to shop for different insurance

Eats battery. Installed and setup exactly as Geico required. Kept getting emails saying to log into DriveEasy , but I never logged out and DriveEasy was always running, always connected to GPS, always connected to wifi or cell data. I sent screenshots to Geico and they replied not to worry and sorry for the frustration. Now they sent me a policy update with discount removed and a bill. WTH. Betting they are doing same to everyone else that were not actually driving anywhere because they were on COVID lockdown and thus showed no trips for a large number of days.

My new insurance with Geico starts today. What a joke?!
Unable to use an application to get this 20 % discounts???
On a first place, it’s violates my 5 th amendment rights. I don’t want any spy device in my car or my body. Period. Was FORCED by insurance agent to do so because it is two cars on policy and my daughter OK???! with this given her rights away.
One of the respondents below (Geico Employee Grivera 216) mentioned that it is only in PA to get this 20% discount, but it is no way forcing any their customers.
I guess the one ( millions of us) who unfortunate to live in PA doesn’t count as a customers.
Even though I was invited to use this unlawful application I been on a phone with a different bunch of Geico reps still not able to use this application telling me that telephone invalid. Dah!?

This company preys on stupid boomers like my parents who don’t read contracts realizing that they’re selling their soul for a stupid discount. If I had been notified I would be required to download an app that can track me wherever whenever I would have stopped them immediately, but unfortunately I wasn’t around while this decision is made. This company is dirty and I can’t wait to be done with this in 5 months. This should be illegal honestly.

DriveEasy drains your phone battery as you have to leave the location, motion and background refresh on all at times even when not driving. Not sure why the company has to track your movements while in your home, walking, shopping, etc and just about everywhere you carry your phone. You would think with all the money this company makes they could afford a better app design.

I had to reinstall and it would open on reinstall. I got a message that they could not reach DriveEasy again. Again it would not open. Again I reinstalled. It opened on reinstall. Let’s see if it’ll open again after this if I have to reinstall. There’s a major problem with DriveEasy and they’re screaming at me about it. I’m about to tell the program where to put it

Every couple of weeks I get an email from Geico warning about DriveEasy not communicating with the company.
So, I reinstall it and get it communicating again. I don’t like the accusatory tone in Geico’s email- as if it assumes I tried to disable DriveEasy .
It’s a problem with DriveEasy , not the user. Until Geico can fix DriveEasy , it should change its tone in the email. I don’t care about reinstalling it; I do care about improper implications.

DriveEasy is good for tracking how hard you brake and such. However, if you’re on your phone in the car and you’re NOT driving, you can the setting that you are a passenger, but the driving score still goes down. I deleted DriveEasy because my driving score was a 70, just from being on my phone while my boyfriend was driving.

DriveEasy is good but it keeps getting hung up every few months and then you download again, losing all the previous data.

I’m a beta tester for DriveEasy and I consider deleting it every day because it’s seriously killing my battery. You need to keep your location on at all times, which I never do. I only set apps to use location when app in use. I would love if I could open DriveEasy and then it tracks my location from there, but that isn’t the case.
Other than that, it’s a little off with hard brakes. I may make some occasionally and I’ll note them mentally, but other times it says I’ll make a hard brake when I didn’t at all.
As for the phone in hand, I don’t ever have my phone in hand and it does keep track of that and does not mark against you if you use a map app like waze while it’s hooked to your dashboard, which is a plus.
Wonder if they will eventually keep track of your speeds to adjust your rates. But right now I’m on the fence because it really does kill my battery through the rest of the day when I’m not driving.

This is great but.... if a passenger in my car is using my phone while I am driving it doesn’t give me an option to state that and because it does not state that it counts towards my driving score. It would awesome to have that option

I plug my phone at all times while driving and my battery stays at 100% (also using your “name brand” charging equipment it makes a huge difference in charging speed).
DriveEasy has changed my driving habits in a seriously positive way especially when approaching a red/green light intersection in a way that causes me no texting UFN to get “nailed” for “hard-braking” because I no longer get those yellow light surprises where you must stop because the light will certainly turn red prior to getting completely thru the intersection chancing a citation... ...or worse.
I like DriveEasy a lot. And the Roadside Assistant is a superb plus for sure.
Hope my input gave a new light on how you feel about DriveEasy.

I am one of DriveEasy beta testers, and so far I really like it. I appreciate the gamification of safer driving, and I definitely believe it makes me consciously NOT want to touch my phone while driving.
Having been rear-ended by a 20-something texter within the past five years, I applaud GEICO’s effort to reduce the amount of distracted drivers on the roads.
Most importantly, I’m looking forward to the reduced premiums for “Excellent” driver scores in the future.

I love the idea of keeping track of my driving. Honestly never realized how often I pick up my phone while driving. I’ve just started using DriveEasy but I think I’m going to enjoy using it to help my driving skills.
App is horrible keeps saying smoothness bad use cruise control I always use it. Says phone handling while the phone is in the console. I have lots of deer and other wildlife running out all the time so yes I have to handbrake occasionally. It's a pain in the butt. Good no distracted driving etc
DriveEasy has not tracked my trips (only 2) for the past 2 weeks. All my settings are correct. I keep getting emails asking me to verify and to tap the link and it will guide me through the process. When I tap it, it takes me to the same app page and there's no direction give--only info on my trips prior to 2 weeks ago. I have not been able to talk with an agent--only virtual chat, which is useless in this situation. Can I please get some help?
Ami registered already?
I keep getting the message to add phone number or lose discount. My phone number was added. The app is also draining my battery something awful.
This app was offered upon my renewal. Two drivers with very few trips as I work from home and my daughter is in virtual school + pandemic fears limit driving. This app constantly failinf on both phones and constant blame ant threats from Geico to raise rates because their app is failing. This is disgusting. They produce a defective app and belittle, accuse, and intimidate the client rather than fix it. There are thousands of these apps that work. They need to fix this.
