I have been using t and from what I can tell it is mostly a waste, unfortunately.
Here are some issues: 1- you cannot adjust the pump from your app.
I understand the potential issues with this considering it is a medical device and all. However, it would be great to have a pin or something I could input to pump insulin from my phone. This could create that confirmation attribute that is needed to prevent accidents. The pump is almost annoying to pull out every time I need insulin.
2-why on earth can I not remove notifications from my app.
What is the purpose of t if I can’this app even remove the notifications that alert. Many types just say remove from pump. That would be fine except it kills my battery to clear these things.
3-keep it from KILLING MY PUMP BATTERY!
What I mean by this is simple: because of the lack of interface on t , I must interact with my pump physically which creates screen time and drains the battery. I can do without a phone…a pump not as much.
t is only good for sharing. I’m not all that concerned on the dr seeing something that me - a diabetic of 33 years (pump for 17)- won’this app see and adjust before our next meeting. What I need is freedom and independence from the physical touch. I will almost definitely delete this thing soon if nothing changes…

The design and layout of the application is great, for the first iteration of the application. Unfortunately there aren’this app enough features in the application, for example I can’this app really change the settings on the pump or anything like that, through the application. The worst thing about it all, are the Bluetooth drops, multiple times a day. I literally had my phone sitting right next to my pump when t lost Bluetooth connectivity.
I’m giving this applications two stars for now. This application was not ready to be released, in my opinion. The Bluetooth drops are a huge problem because it could be hours before the connectivity actually comes back. Unfortunately, Tandem should’ve waited to release this. They should have tested it a lot more.

I loved t. Very informative. I was actually happy that I could see all the information on it. But. Then came the “lost connection make sure phone and pump are near each other” okay whatever. No biggie I suppose. Maybe it was close at that time. Even thought I had my phone on my night stand. Then I got more alerts like this. I’m like wth, my phone and pump are right beside of each other. Guess what? Now it shows they need to be near each other again. My pump on my shirt. It’s there with a clip so it’s not going anywhere. And as you see, my phone is in my hands. So they are near each other. These things are always near each other. Right now it’s telling me that my pump has lost connection over a day! t to me is trash. It’s a good thing I have the other app that alerts you if my blood sugar goes to high or low. Because t, is useless!
I want to like it…

I like t layout and the ease with which you can scroll back and see blood glucose levels throughout the day. However, my information rarely appears. t shows me my current blood glucose, but has large gaps of information throughout the day. Sometimes, it shows me my glucose level and tells me I’m disconnected at the same time.
I reached out to customer service and they told me to make sure the Bluetooth was connected, it was. They told me to delete app and reinstall, which I did, and it still doesn’this app work. Then they reassured me that the data was there on their end, so I didn’this app need to worry. Well, I still can’this app see it.
My dexcom app has all of the data present on its mobile app, so I don’this app think it’s a connectivity issue. I’m running a new iPhone and I always have my phone in the pocket next to my pump.
Unfortunately, although the current settings update, it often doesn’this app update the graph making the viewing of trends impossible. (Fortunately the dexcom app still works to view CGM trends.)
Additionally, it would be great if there was an easy way to view recent bolus history on t (especially since the interface for viewing bolus history on the pump requires too many button pushes and doesn’this app display the information in a convenient way; the Medtronic pump has a better interface for viewing bolus history).
Also, although the graph for basal rates is helpful (when it loads, which it often doesn’this app as noted above), but it would be nice to be able to see what the actual rates are without needed to log into the web portal.
Modern diabetes options finally

Great first iteration of t. Overall happy with it and being able to see at a glance what my pump is doing. Some things that need to be added/fixed.
1.) The control iq symbol should be displayed top left of the graph like on the pump. Currently you have to swipe down to see if it’s active, on etc.
2.) should be able to control the pump from t for clearing notifications at minium but long term for bolusing, adjusting settings etc.
3.) Apple Watch support!!! We need complications on the Apple Watch so we can see at a glance what our pump is doing but also control it from the watch and clear notifications etc.
4.) Apple health support should be supported already. It’s a couple of checkboxes in Xcode when writing t and it’s a big fail that it’s not supported already. I should be able to write all the carb, blood glucose and insulin data that t already knows about into health so I can then use it in my other apps as I see fit. It’s my data give me access to it.
5.) widget support so we can quickly swipe down on the iphone and see at a glance what the pump is doing.
Overall great start from the only diabetes company willing to push common technology into the type 1 space.
Notation option

by ERapalee
Please add an option to add notes to the boluses and/or sugar changes. Being able to click on the “liquid drop” icon that shows how much was delivered and add a message or note would be a huge help to the user and the doctor. My doctor just did an adjustment to my bolus and I have had spikes and drops so I would think adding a note option to the “droplets” would allow the doctor and/or patient to see the reason for the dosage and or change in rate. There would be no reason to keep a separate record or forget what caused something the next time the doctor sees the charts, they will see the reason with the graph notes. I just had my A1C test and 5.6 is the best I have ever had in the 36 years of being a diabetic! I am glad I switched to the T2 pump and can’this app wait to see what gets added next! I have never written a review so I hope this makes sense. Thank you Tandem for having an amazing system that has made my life even better!
Love the display of Important Info

by Mercilesshellcat
This is a pretty great app. I’m overall very happy with its features and the Information displayed. It’s much easier to find important data by looking at t than searching through my pump settings.
One thing that I have an issue with though is that it keeps asking me to “Verify the time on your pump” almost constantly during the day. Even after getting it down to the closest second possible, it still says the time on my pump doesn’this app match the time on my phone. I think I get about 30+ notifications for this per day. So if that could be fixed, it would be the perfect app!
Great app... But...

I love t. Note you can not control your pump, only monitor it. I believe there may be a bug that appeared with iOS 14.x. The BG graph and basal value on the graph stop showing up at random times for hours to days, and then start up again. There still is communication with the pump because the current BG value and current basal rate still show and update as they should.
Another thing. when you scroll down below the graph there are many values listed but the basal setting for the profile isn’this app shown. Everything else seems to be shown.
A great app when it works like it did before the newest 14.x IOS versions appeared. I hope they fix it soon. And of course I wish I could control the pump through t . Maybe in future versions? 🙂
t is a great asset considering it’s in its’ infancy for development. All is well and relatively accurate. The only downfall is if you are giving yourself fractions of units per hour (ie 3.25) it only shows whole numbers. I’ve also found that I take 4.25 units as my basal rate and the this app:connect app still says I’m only taking 3 units per hour. This is a big problem when I need a refill as it doesn’this app show my treatment team the correct dosage. I don’this app think that they will rely on this too much since I can show them on my actual pump what the usage is but it would be much better if they could actually see the needs on t .
Great app for visualizing your Tandem data

by ExCapio
The this app:connect app is a great way to visualize all the goings on of your this app:connect pump. Sometimes it’s just easier to view this information on your phone than to unbury your pump, which is why I really love t. Information flows only one way—from your pump to t , and I’m sure that’s a safety feature, as being able to control your pump through your phone opens up a whole possible can of worms. But I wish— I SO WISH! —you could at least silence/acknowledge alarms and notifications through t too because, again, sometimes it’s just so much easier/convenient/unobtrusive to use t rather than unbury your pump.
Great first start, room to grow.

Looking at t, you can really get a feel for the direction personal diabetes management is moving, bringing the pump interface right into the devices that we all use every day. Although there is very little that’s actionable in t at this point, it’s a wonderful way to get insights into one’s blood sugar (through Dexcom integration), insulin dosage levels, and pump battery status. I expect it’ll take a longer time to integrate and clear pump control, but one thing that seems like low hanging fruit is writing blood sugar and insulin data back to iOS Health via HealthKit for use in other tracking apps. iOS supports tracking both basal and bolus insulins.
love this app!

I love being able to use my phone to keep track of my blood glucose and pump and CGM status. One suggestion for Tandem and t developer: please add a time and date of last infusion site change; it would be more convenient than having to look at the pump history.
Since my last review, I still like t and would not want to be without it, but it’s not working right; I am having issues with not seeing the blood glucose graph or bolus tracking at times, and sometimes I see a portion of t with a gray background. I close t and reopen it, and sometimes it fixes it but not always. I’ve tried restarting my phone and that doesn’this app help.
Since my last review, still love t , but it crashes intermittently throughout the day, causing me have to restart it. Today, it’s not been opening correctly, either a delay in starting or restarts in the mode where I have to click I Agree, then it circles, won’this app open and I have to restart it again. It’s getting frustrating. Please fix it, thanks

I personally would like to thank the developers of t from myself and my family. The information revised on t is amazing and it enables a diabetic like myself to see exactly where he needs to improve. t isn’this app for diabetics that aren’this app serious about controlling their blood sugars and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. If you are though it will literally changeyour and hopefully add years to it. I no longer need to wait to go see my endocrinologist every three on this to get the information I need it is literally right at my finger tips. Thank you so much for providing us the tools we need to be as healthy as we can be.
So after reading the reviews, and the response from the developer I downloaded. I noted that at least one user suggestion was already in effect. Mind blown! I can see my insulin on board without looking at my pump! I’m hoping there is a widget to be able to view directly on my Home Screen but more importantly I beg of you to allow this pump to connect directly to a smart watch also. This will allow us end users to not have to cart our phones around with us. As an emergency room tech I can’this app always have my phone with me and I can’this app always access my pump due to today’s PPE needs but I still need to know what’s going on. I can’this app wait to show this to the other T1 I work with.
What is the possibility of t info being accessed remotely or shared with approved individuals? This would allow the tslim pump to share info with the phone and for t to share with family while allowing the second communication port on the Dexcom transmitter to connect directly to a watch!!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I’m in a slightly different situation. My husband has Alzheimer’s and as expected his abilities are decreasing. Since I am with him almost 24/7 I have the this app:slim app and Dexcom connected to my phone. It is easy to see what his BG is doing because he is getting to the point he can’this app easily read the pump screen. t allows me to see when/how much insulin he has taken. For safety’s sake his max bolus is set at 6 and he doesn’this app usually try to take an additional bolus too early. I really want him to be able to use the pump as long as possible rather than go to MDI. He’s had T1 for over 50 years and we’ve taken advantage of all the new technology. Hooray for Tandem!!
Love this!

I’ve had T1D for 45 years and get excited every time new technology comes out to more easily manage my diabetes. I switched to Tandem a little over a year ago after having used another brand insulin pump for over 15 years. Tandem’s focus on making diabetes management easier sets them apart from the rest. t is in that same vein. It gives me all of the information that I would get if looking at the pump display itself - except in an app on the phone. Brilliant. When controlling the pump from t becomes available that will be yet another game changer. The only thing I’d love to see in t is a dictionary of sorts to explain the visuals along the X axis. Aside from that, thank you Tandem! Your software and thoughtful design makes treating a disease easier to manage.
Excellent first version …

For a new app, I find this one to be most useful and functional. It is nice, in particular to be able to see bolus/basal information at the same time you see CGM data over the past 24 hours.
There are 3 added features I would like to see: the first should be easy, but the second two are not as easy because they will require changes not only to t but to the pump software as well.
1. There seems to be no axis labeling on the vertical CGM reading axis. At the very least, we should axis numbers at the low and high alarm points and at least tic marks every 50 mg/dL.
2.It would be nice to be able to confirm alarms and warnings on t and have them be communicated back to the pump. While this will require software changes on the pump, the ability to discretely confirm an alarm on the phone would be most useful.
3. On both t and on the pump, I would like more flexibility in setting alarms to vibrate. In particular, if I am in church, at the opera, attending a wedding or a funeral, I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT an audible alarm to disrupt the proceedings. I would much prefer a vibrating alarm, that I could discretely handle, ever for the most urgent alarm.
Overall, this app:Connect is a useful and functional app that should only get better in the future.

Very nice display of relevant information

Easy to download & setup. The data is nicely laid out and has a similar feel & look to the pump screen. It would nice to include a TIR value (past 24hrs) but recognize this is not directly shown on online app either as one has to choose a time frame and look for the percentage on the CGM tab. ————-added 29jul————— I also like the simplicity of t and hope it does not become too encumbered with more features. t is much easier to visualize the automatic boluses amount and timing. Prior to t I could find this information on the pump but it several menus away. It would also be nice to have icons (on BG line) for the start/stop times for the sleep or exercise activities. I find myself trying to remember when I had it running and what happened with my BG. Overall, great job! So much better and very pleasing to the eye as compared to Dexcom’s app.
After all I agree with John it’s really excellent first version off t . I am excited to look forward to any upcoming improvements. I decided on the X2 pump because there are always updates available therefore you not constantly need to get a new pump! Depending on where you wear your pump it’s really helpful to use your cell instead of getting the pump out! On the suggestion John made I totally agree! Also it would be nice to have an option to share your data with a loved one like Dexcom offers! I do understand that adjustment should be made on the pump itself but I would love to see if you can consider the option to make in the future more pump control and adjustment on your cell! Reason I mentioned it is because I am a PD dialysis potions I sometimes wear my punt on my thighs and I always need to use the restroom to make adjustments or disable alarms. But I am happy with the first version of t !!! Thank you

Had to call tech support to get my pump connected to t , apparently my pump wasn’this app properly attached to my account and a dev had to do it manually in the database.
I’ve been using t for the last day, and I find it to be a let down. It’s an ok quick overview, but we really should be able to access more data, imo.
-should be able to drag a line across the chart to inspect bg, basal rate, and what mode my Control IQ was in at that time.
-needs a customizable widget (which will be much more prevalent in iOS 14
-would like to be able to interact with the pump from t (that’s a big ask, I’m sure the FDA clearance on that is tougher)
-notifications have such little information, I turned them off
-the UI looks super antiquated
-I should be able to export reports from t
The dexcom app is so great, I’m definitely judging this against it... and it’s losing big time. Would also like if they had an API that dexcom could just tap into... since their app is much better.
It’s a start, but has a long way to go in being useful.
Works good but needs improvement

t is great. I haven’this app had any issues so far. I love the simplicity, the design, and the fact that I can get a general overview without having to always pull my pump out.
There are a few features I would like to see in future updates.
1. WatchOS compatibility 2. IOS Widget 3. The ability to acknowledge notifications from the pump on t . 4. The ability to set reminders on t instead of the pump i.e; after bolus BG reminder.

This is a great app! I’m looking forward for better notifications, it would be nice to see the glucose number when it gives you a high or low alert. I like the widget Dexcom has also. Love being able to see insulin on board and how often CIQ is changing my nasal rates! Definately an improvement!!
Can you create a widget on the iPhone for this this app:connect app???????
I have pump paired with my old iPhone 8 Plus already. I also want to have the ability to keep that & also pair it with another (my other iPhone) simultaneously. Is this possible???
Is it possible to pair your X2pump with 2 devices??? Please...?
Data, Graphs, and Control-IQ (Oh My)

by Chase Lak
t allows a very seamless dashboard that displays all kinds of data. I can see control-iq basal rates and insulin delivery to the thousands decimal place and current information (what IQ is current basal rate, blood sugar level, and last bolus). It’s also nice to have the data sent to the web application so my doctor can access without having to be “plugged in” to my laptop directly. The only thing I wish t had was the ability for other users to remote monitor. It’s such a great feature with Dexcom’s app I wish it could be implemented on the Tandem app.
Fabulous App for TSlim Users
2024-11-17
by LeslieL0314
This a beautiful and well designed app for anyone who uses a TSlim pump. My 11 year old daughter is a T1D and I am always asking her, “how many units do you have on board? How many units are available? Do you need to charge?” I was exhausting these questions offer. Now I can look for myself on my phone and help her manage her pump. My only issue/ suggestion is t only works for us if I’m within range of her pump. I wish I could have access to this information, like Dexcom, while she is at school. t would be beautiful for working parents of “not yet” independent T1D. Thank you for this beautiful app.

I just downloaded this yesterday which was July 7, 2020. I love t so far. Can’this app wait for the option to bolus from my iPhone.
Course I simply love the Tandem X2 CIQ. Still not a human pancreas and settings need to be done appropriately BUT it is sooo much better than previous insulin pumps as to technology.
Would love to be able to have it as a widget so I can see while iPhone is locked.
