I have just opened a joint bank account with my husband, but I could not sign into WSECU using my email, and I called the bank to ask why this was the case. I got a hold of their app support and I was told that apparently only he can enroll in online banking as the primary account holder. He is also the only email that will be receiving information from the bank. Given that the point of a joint account is that multiple people are pooling their finances, I cannot understand how this app operates this way. I do not have access to my husband’s email, and I shouldn’t have to — I *should* have equal access as a member of the account. WSECU and online experience offer no alternative, and if I am incorrect about this lack of access, then it reflects poorly on the support person who did not explain a solution to me. I will be closing our account as soon as we have opened it and seeking a more functional bank. I haven’t even been able to try WSECU , but the instant roadblock led me to give it one star, which is, to be fair, more reflective of the bank’s practices.
