Still not fixed…

Several times I have spoken to Cox and made them aware that my wifi app is somehow 3 hours ahead of my actual time and they have me take the same steps over and over with no answer. One guy tried to say it was my phone?? Kinda odd considering my phone is in the correct time zone and displaying the correct time! How are we supposed to use the downtime and active time features if your app is telling my wifi that it’s 3 hours later than it actually is? This causes my daughters active time to begin and end at incorrect times, which meant yesterday she used some of today’s time and downtime has to be set with a 3 hour difference. Confused yet? Every time they tell me to do the same things….uninstall and reinstall CoxPanoramicWifi , restart the modem and restart my phone and then when I tell them I’ve already taken these steps before contacting them, they have me do it again as if I’m either lying or being in contact with them is going to somehow change the results, which, in case you couldn’t already tell, has not made a difference whatsoever.
These features would be so wonderful if they actually worked correctly. I know I’m not the only person with this issue…if you are going to ask for our feedback as customers it would be really great if you would actually listen and do something about it!!

Does the trick

As a person who streams everything, and has things hooked up that requires internet connection to operate (I.E security cameras) the long, dull nights of sitting in quiet darkness are over. I no longer have to un plug my router to eliminate my kids from internet access so they will go to bed. CoxPanoramicWifi gives me the ability to restrict specific devises at specific times, or I can pause internet access to those devises at a moments notice, even when I’m not at home. Oh, it was a point of contention at first. The tears, the “I JUST WANT 30 MORE MINS”. The stomping around were very real. But PARENTS, lemme tell you. Just get through that initial time of a poor attempt of a power struggle from your little darlings. They will soon learn that you mean what you say, and comply to their new reality- while you still enjoy your favorite Netflix shows and effortlessly scroll through social media. So sit back, relax, pause that internet with a simple click and have the peace of mind that you are now the absolute law on internet usage in your home.

No access

My app access has been denied ever since I had a support tech out here. I mean literally lost access as soon as they reconnected my modem. Cox support can’t help me and without access I am having trouble being able to view/pause/unpause devices. Which is a hassle because my internet disconnects every 15 minutes and yet somehow my data is through the roof and I have no way of seeing why that is (what is connected that shouldn’t be that’s possibly eating data when my service is out?) all I get is a message stating that “primary user must grant access” which is weird considering my account is the only user. Tried every trouble shoot (clear cache, created a secondary user, had cox change the secondary user to primary.. deleted and updated app and phone) nothing works. Cox support can’t figure it out, says they will connect me with someone else and then immediately hangs up. So no app access and no internet .. and no support.

The App does what it should

CoxPanoramicWifi is fine. I would like to be able to see real time speed within CoxPanoramicWifi and also be able to see my total usage for the month without switching apps.
I pay for the gigablast but continually see around 500 down and 30 up. If I wanted to get that speed I would have selected that speed. I have the standard pano router you guys offer, hardwired to the modem for my Xbox and PC but still see the same speed. That’s all throughout the day, not just in the evening when speeds are affected by the number of users on it.
Transparency would be a cool feature. Just a quick blurb on CoxPanoramicWifi as well saying hey speeds may be affected due to the number of users in your area at this current time. But that should be the actual case, not just a blanket statement to cover throttling.

Internet goes in and out

What is the point of offering an affordable option when the speed doesn’t support even a few devices? The more expensive/faster option, which my family really doesn’t need, is almost $100 a month! Most phone plans come with unlimited data, which is the reason I opted for the basic WiFi plan that seems to work at certain times. CoxPanoramicWifi is great! And I love how my apartment came prewired for Cox services. The troubleshooting capability on CoxPanoramicWifi seems pointless when the internet is not connected to the network, it’s almost impossible to get customer service to help troubleshoot, they repeat exactly what CoxPanoramicWifi suggests before actually sending useful help. Again...what’s the point of offering support if it doesn’t resolve a connection problem?

Substandard WIFI

Cox Cable has been to our home multi times and can not resolve the internet WIFI, latency, lag, speed or packet loss issue even using their internet premise WIFI equipment or added supplemental premise added WIFI extenders. The techs come out and seem to have the cable related knowledge but they all seem to fall short on their knowledge when it comes to the abilities of the Cox premise equipment or how to prove why the issues are happening. They also don’t have the ability to map the WIFI signal strength that runs through the house. Not one has shown any printout or live screen shot that shows how the WIFI reacts to the house, walls, ceilings or floors (2 story house). Even with Cox Cable management involved, that didn’t help. Thank goodness COVID-19 came. At least now they have a reason why they can’t do everything they can. The really sad part to this problem is that I’m not the only one having it.

Worst TV and Internet service

I have been with Cox since March. My installation was hindered by COVID, but I was able to self install. Since then internet speeds have slowed and my ability to view TV has gotten worse. I was forced to watch the last three week of football without sound and with service interruptions. I have contacted support several times and received a refund, but no improvement. I was notified today that the ”construction” that was causing my problems had ended so I tested the speed. (19.3 upload and 4.46 upload since I downgraded to 50 mbps) I was told to reset the modem that didn't work. My radio is buffering. (will try the manual rest when I leave) Waited 7 minutes with o response from tech text support. They disconnected without a response. I’ve done all I can to stay with them and tolerate the horrible service. I would check to see if you havsother options.

Why is it in Spanish?

CoxPanoramicWifi does some things well. It shows me what devices are connected and lets me be more in control of who uses the internet at certain times. However, there are so many things it just doesn’t do. When I clicked on “manage bill,” it took me to CoxPanoramicWifi Store. Seriously? Why even have a link in CoxPanoramicWifi if it make me download another app? Also, my plan allows 1.25 tetrabytes per month, but there’s no way to track usage in CoxPanoramicWifi . What’s the point? How can I know my usage if I don’t have a way to track it? It’s not surprising that Cox would create an app that is woefully incomplete, but this is ridiculous.

The latest absurd development is that everything is in Spanish. I have never chosen Spanish, as I do not speak Spanish. Why, Cox? This has made CoxPanoramicWifi completely useless.

Cox is too much work!

I like the fact that Cox is much cheaper than AT&T however having to register every iPhone TV etc. in every room is really a pain! I am not very tech savvy and this is making things worse! Plus it always says on my iPhone that Cox is an unsecure Ntwrk! Along with this I have to unplug the modem and reset the modem at least once or twice@ a day! Not really sure if you’re worth it! I wish you had a phone number that I could talk to somebody and they could show me what to do instead of the “chat” which is a bunch of crap! There are senior citizens like myself they’re trying to hang in here! Help us please!

On Internet for 9:25 hrs/0:30 minutes?!

My kids hate CoxPanoramicWifi almost as much as I do. The functionality was better when we first started using parental controls. However, for the last several months, it’s been a mess. For example, I wanted the kids to get some chores done after school before getting online so I set their time allowance to the minimum of 30 minutes when I went to bed last night (zero isn’t possible unless you Pause until you say yes apparently). Today, one kid couldn’t get online. The other kid shows in CoxPanoramicWifi as having used 9.25hrs out of his 30 minute allowance. What the heck?! Not only did it allow background apps online while he was at school, he was able to jump right on after school w/no limitations. CoxPanoramicWifi is quickly becoming useless!

The most unreliable ISP I have had in 20 years

By far the worst internet company I have ever used. Internet service is intermittent at best. The call center just repeats the same steps over and over again; re-boot my modem a few separate times then send a tech. They have been out multiple times and have done nothing to fix this issue. They have replaced my modem 3 times with no improvements and have never offered me any kind of refund for all the lost service and waisted time dealing with this issue. As soon as another ISP is available in my area in Virginia Beach I am changing. I am considering canceling it now and just using my phones hot spot which I end up doing 50% of the time anyway because my WiFi is down. It is sad my phone hotspot is 100% reliable when the internet I pay for through Cox is less than 50%.

No complaints

CoxPanoramicWifi works as advertised!
I'm surprised most of the reviews are in relation to Cox service in general instead of CoxPanoramicWifi as they should be.
That being said I was a long time Comcast customer which I was very happy with before moving to an area served by Cox. I've been very satisfied with my top tier internet service and equipment in general and very seldom have any service interruptions.
My experience may be due to much better infrastructure here in Connecticut. Regardless I felt the need to write this review just to say there are a few of us satisfied customers. I do wish cable pricing was more reasonable however.

Been getting progressively worse.

Cox WiFi panoramic app no longer allows me to sign-in, via CoxPanoramicWifi . The only difference on my end is a phone upgrade to iPhone 12 Mini. I’ve deleted CoxPanoramicWifi , resetted my network settings, rebooted the router, signed in to my account online, and other attempts. Although, I have been on two bars since last night. Pretty frustrating since I’ve been working from home, so reliable service is more important now, more than ever—especially since we pay over $100 every month for internet. I hear AT&T is offering fiber-optic connectivity directly into homes, very soon in my area. Help is on the way—if this is the quality of service to be expected from Cox. Very frustrated!

You know how it is

Cox is terrible. They’re another ISP who has a monopoly in the region with legislators in their pockets so nothing changes and competition isn’t allowed to happen. They don’t care about making their service better, they’re overpriced for terrible service compared to other industrialized countries and if something goes wrong with any of it they nickel and dime you to fix it while taking no responsibility for their product. When you’re forced to get this sub rate service (yeah, I’m forced because the only other option is dish, I’m in a situation where maritime equipment effs with satellite to point it’s unusable at various times during the day/night) just know you’re in for a headache. If you have another option, please use it before giving this company your money.

Reliablity

A warning usually displays during a Zoom conference indicating “internet connection unstable”. Many times during the day I see an error note on my laptop stating that it cannot reach the desired website as there is no internet connection. A few minutes later the connection is made. Upload & download speeds are good when connection is solid. I usually have to reboot the router every 2-3 days. We have 3 pods to CTR do the WiFi range, but these work only a shot distance from the router. No signal at all in the lower home and thus a smart TV there has no internet connection, just cable tv. Cox tech could not resolve this limitation. Only 2 pods of 3 are functional.

By

When it works, it’s fine.

I’ve had CoxPanoramicWifi for about a month now to help control my child’s internet access while my wife and are working. For about a week recently, CoxPanoramicWifi wouldn’t work at all which was extremely frustrating because I needed to make some adjustments to internet access. I wish there was a way to allow access to only a few sites and block everything else. As far as I can tell, CoxPanoramicWifi simply allows me to limit internet usage as I deem necessary for the users to whom I allow access to my WiFi. It’s a little interesting to be able to see who is using WiFi and how much but CoxPanoramicWifi isn’t all I hoped it would be.

By

Functional but limited

I really wish CoxPanoramicWifi had more customization options as far as imposing time limits goes. Instead of just focusing on total hours, why not give users the ability to select the time of day during which internet connectivity can be active? Also, why are their only two groups? Home and guest. That’s pretty basic and doesn’t allow for multiple groups to be monitored. As a parent, my children have more than just one internet connected device and it would be great to make separate groups for each of them as they’re not all subject to the same time restrictions. It’s aggravating. Please fix this.

By

Terrible connection

We just upgraded to the panoramic WiFi gigablast. Service is constantly crashing and must restart multiple times daily. They obviously don’t have the ability to serve all their customers and just continue to sell you more expensive packages and equipment. Hopefully the time will come when real competition arrives and they’ll be forced fix the problems. Most of the reviews on here are negative so the problems are systemic and need to be addressed.

Outrageous charges- so fed up with Cox!

I have been a Cox customer for seven years and I wish I had a choice of switching to another company. I was enrolled in auto pay and lost my credit card. While I was waiting for a replacement Cox charged my card on file which I had cancelled. They charged me $50 for a returned check fee. I called right away to ask if they would waive the charge and they said they had to escalate my request. For two months I paid my bill less the $50 fee. On my fourth call to customer service they told me they had denied my request, and in the meantime charged me $8.25 for a late fee. Run, don’t walk, away from Cox, unless you want to give your money to a company whose goal is to tack on outrageous charges and squeeze you for every dollar.

By

Worst Service Provider Ever!

Worst service provider I have ever dealt with. As a retired service member, I have had to deal with many service providers around the world and Cox is hands down the worst. The only reason I don’t dump them is because they have a monopoly on Aquidneck Island as the sole provider of service. For the last year and a half, my service drops out at least once a day and on most days 2 - 3 times a day. I know I am not alone as I have many friends onnisland that report the same issues. It seems Cox has known for quite some time that there is a problem but has been in no hurry to do anything about it. I can understand the occasional drop out, but daily is unacceptable for the amount of money we pay.

Awful, slow, marketing scheme to spend more money

Panoramic Wifi is a marketing scheme designed to spend more money with Cox, but actually not give you any more coverage or use of the speed you pay for. I bought the Pods to “extend” my network from the driveway to the backyard for the WiFi security cams, but the coverage is awful, the furthest out cams (that are well within Cox coverage specs) only connect half the time, the speed to connect is awful and defeats the purpose of the cams. On top of that, now the Apple TV buffers on Netflix when it never did before.

When installing Panoramic WiFi with Pods, you loose 5G and 2.4g networks, the Cox software determines the networks your devices connect to and the speeds... In my opinion an awful software that doesn’t work as advertised.

Again, I would not go with Cox hardware, awful, slow, clunky, expensive, doesn’t work and their billing depart will screw you over. I would give zero stars if i could. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. Waiting for contract to expire and going to another internet provider.

Take this review with the fact that I am a very savvy electronics and internet customer, i research a lot, not one to write reviews (but i read a lot of them) and i have called COX multiple times without help or improvement of the WiFi. Their customer service is terrible and their wait times on hold is awful.

Great app!

I’m so used to the regular Cox app, before the update- it was slow, buggy and it took AGES to load a page.
Now I feel like I should be giving CoxPanoramicWifi a few more weeks before I confirm my assumptions but I LOVE it! You can schedule down times, pause the wifi usage for just certain devices, it’s a great app! I’m not sure why it has so many terrible reviews. I’ve read through a few and I don’t have any of the problems others have talked about. Maybe I have the most updated version. Needless to say, it’s a great app and if you have children or if you just want to start fights with family members 😂 CoxPanoramicWifi is for you.

By

LOVE IT!!!

We LOVE CoxPanoramicWifi!!! We have our family separated out in it and each device assigned to each family member as needed. With one touch I can pause the internet which is helpful for Xbox and other gaming systems, smart TVs, phones (of your phone is wi-fi only), computers, etc. it’s helped us keep our kiddos in “balance” with work and play, as well as allowed us to stay strong to the consequences we set for bad grades, not so smart decisions, etc. Also, we get a notification for new connections of anyone not already on our network which is awesome as well! Nice job Cox! 👏🏻👏🏻 Excited to see CoxPanoramicWifi continue to improve!!

Pain in a Snap

I tried running the google WiFi mesh at the house, unfortunately that setup won’t work well with the Pano, the Contour boxes have to be on the Pano Network.

Purchased the 3 pack of Pods from Cox , installed CoxPanoramicWifi and had all three pods running in under 10 minutes. Added benefit that I can assign devices to user profiles, allowing me to turn off access to the router for certain tome frames. Great way to keep the gets off of the electronics on school nights. Bravo

Time limits

Any chance we can get the option to turn off WiFi for a particular device after it has been connected for a period of time? For example if I limit my kids to an hour a day of streaming, then after a device has been connected for the hour it simply loses WiFi connection....

Thanks for the response I hadn’t noticed the option to “pause after” time limit has been met!

By

Love It

I am not sure why it has such low ratings but I am giving it 10 stars if I could. My kids were sucking up the data faster that I could drink a coke. I tried telling them that we only get 1 TB of data but that was met with “don’t worry, you got plenty”. HA HA, momma bear finally has a way to cut off their usage by putting all the devices to sleep at a certain time and restricting usage to a few hours. So long data sucking xbox. I absolutely love CoxPanoramicWifi.

By

Updates are helping and I am sure even more are coming

CoxPanoramicWifi has seen some very good refinements and I am pleased with the service. For those of you that are having problems with the pods connecting the gateway needs a firmware update. For the PW6 if you ate on 3.1 it needs to be 3.3 or later per tech-support. I was having the same problem and once the firmware was updated via tech support the pods connected quickly.

Can not log in

Cox is the worst ISP. I have panoramic Wifi, and while at first it was great, over the last 6 months I have the worst service. I don’t have good phone internet service so we need WiFi connection.
I have changed my WiFi password before, tried logging into my WiFi online on cox, they redid the site, now it keeps telling me error, so I download CoxPanoramicWifi and now it’s telling me wrong password and I got locked out of my account.
They charge me ridiculous bill for crappy service. I’m canceling my services. I’ve given chance after chance to fix, Ive upgraded and still run into problems.
This was my last straw.

I have never seen an app with so many errors EVER

My family and I switched from AT&T to Cox in hopes to have some improvement with our connection and speeds. So far I'm beyond dissatisfied with not only our service but also CoxPanoramicWifi! I use CoxPanoramicWifi heavily to manage the devices that we use round the clock. It's almost 3 am and I can't connect my 3 month old daughters Owlet (heartbeat and oxygen sensor) because the stupid app once again has yet another error message. It's been like this for almost 2 1/2 hours and this happens every single day! Between this and the outages that occur daily, I'm considering taking my business else where.

By

Total Garbage!

I went to our local Cox solutions store today 12 Nov 2019 to upgrade to this “GLORIOUS” Gigablast Internet and the internet itself works great.

The problem is when you want to change the settings and create your own network name and password. The instructions state to download the Panoramic Wi-Fi App.

Once I did that I felt like I was on a phone call with Child Support Enforcement. They ask you to log in and after what seemed like logging in 4 times and getting locked out of the account I called customer service and they kick you to “tier 2” with a promise to call you within 72 hours so now the waiting game begins

Not ready for prime time—CS not helpful

Hey guys you were NOT ready for prime time with this. It’s not worth writing about my login problems since so many other people are having them.

However the idea that the error message has me calling 800 number, who then gives me an option to do a text chat, who then automatically responds way too fast with a lot extra stuff that I have to read and wait for somebody to answer. Doesn’t identify me by my phone number even though that’s tied to Cox. Just ask if I call CustomerService… And then wants to quickly ask me to reload CoxPanoramicWifi that doesn’t work…

Ineffective, sham to charge monthly rental fees

Believe the 1 star reviews. Our third party worthless tech, not cox employee forgot the extension pods on install. After holding forever they sent someone days later and didn’t advise me ridiculous charge per pod, per month. Complete sham! Don’t fall for the bait. We just bought EERO a one time purchase. Cox is the worst tech company I’ve ever had the displeasure of having for a (non) service provider. They even have bogus caps on WiFi data and try to steer you into inflated prices for “unlimited”. Cancelling services one by one as I move to better providers. Believe the reviews. All true.

By

A Must Have App For Parents!!

CoxPanoramicWifi makes it super easy to set time limits/alerts and parental controls for devices/users. The visual network activity graph is very useful too. I would however, like to see the signal strength to each device and actual data usage per user/device. Other than that, I love it!

By

Almost useless

Does not properly track data usage. Phones can be gone all day and still use data at very high levels. TV boxes that are not supposed to be using data show lots of usage. Son that streams Utube shown as little to no usage.
The good is I can pause devices but they still show usage at times.
I’ve been told by Cox that CoxPanoramicWifi is not tracking my use properly and I should not pay attention to what it shows. Why have CoxPanoramicWifi other than pause function?

By

No stars. Doesn’t work at all for me

Moved my service to a new house and upgraded to then newest and best panoramic Wifi with gigablast. Bought a set of three extended pods. That was four days ago. The WiFi itself works fine, but I cannot access the router via CoxPanoramicWifi. It continually loops back to the login. Can’t even use the extenders I paid 129$ for.
Customer service did not even know about CoxPanoramicWifi until I called to ask for help. They kept asking if I meant the Cox Connect app.
I finally gave up.

Cox Communications panoramic wifi is really bad. I have the top plan they offer and it's bad. my old dial up internet was by far bettter than cox communications wifi. Constant drops. It just dropped me 3 times while I'm typing this review. Streaming anything is unbelievable. Took me over 2 and a half hours to stream a 45 minute show. It's annoying but when it starts buffering I just go and do some chores or something while it's buffering. It usually takes 2 to 5 minutes of buffering for every minute it actually streams. It's even worse when they cut your speeds down which they do all the time. you pay for the top plan but they give you the lowest and they think it's great. Sounds more like bait and switch tactics. I can only image how bad the lowest plan is. Their lowest plan probably lets you on the net for 2 minutes a day before they just cut you off and then charge you for overage. That's how they work. Nice racket to be in. Never having to deliver what is advertised. They do have monopolies in a lot of areas so they know they got you suckered in. I got rid of their cable service because it was so bad and expensive. Over $100.00 for basic service and they increase it all the time sometimes twice in a year. While giving new customers over half off but loyal customers get a increase on their bill. That's what cox thinks and cares and appreciate their customers. Best thing to do is cancel the service and start over just to get a better deal. The only problem is you have to go into a cox store and wait in line and return all the equipment. Ive had to do this 4 times in the past and each time saved over 50%. It's a pain but it was worth it. The first time I did it. I went from paying over $250.00 to paying $125.00 with the same exact service. They like to make things hard on their customers. Most people don't have the time to hassle with it. I just wish they cared about their customers. It's funny that at the top of this page it says they have a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars but they have a Negative experience of 85.4%. How is that ? Advice if there is another service in your area I would jump on it.

Brian Curtis   1 year ago

Not what they say it is. You can have a device sitting right next to the router and it will buffer every minute. they should be more honest and have some integrity. They could be a professional company one day if they only put some effort into it but that is highly unlikely to happen. They have a monopoly on the area I'm in so it's difficult or impossible to get any other service here. Their cable service is even more of a joke. I got rid of their cable service because it's a rip off. Charge too much for crappy service. They have to update their system everyday ( No joke) they can't even get broadcasting local channels down. I understand updates every so often but every single day is a joke. I guess they are still trying to figure out how to broadcast television shows. I hope one day it can become a professional top notch company but you would probably have better luck winning the lottery without buying a ticket. Very sad excuse for a company.

Cox has been nothing but problems. Since there is no one else in the neighborhood I have to deal with all the buffers and drop internet. Sad with the customer service too.

For the last few months, I have been having considerable difficulty with Cox Internet disconnecting. I work from home therefore uptime is of utmost importance. Initially. I had a standard modem and router combination and began experiencing disconnects when the microwave would come on. In talking to Cox, the technical salesperson suggested that the problem could be solved by going to Panoramic Wi-Fi, and of course there was an associated cost increase. We installed the Panoramic Wi-Fi and the problem continued. So, I was told that I dd not have the latest Panoramic Wi-Fi modem and it was changed out. Then a technician came out and said that the Wi-Fi needed to be split into 2.4 and 5.0 G. The last time they came out, the changed out the cable from the street to the house. I am still experiencing drops. Meanwhile accusation was leveled against my PC and then the VPN. So, I started using another PC. I still have drops.... So today, in order to get some work done, I used my hotspot. What a travesty, I wouldn't have suspected this. So I decided to check Cox reviews, and so I join the chorus singing how poor, Cox service and support is.

In the Cox WiFi application, for a profile, it states "Limit Met & Paused". How ever above it, it states that the profile has been active for 4:15 and the limit is 2:00. Seems like the pause feature is quirky, but maybe you have an explanation?
