Worst food ordering app ever

I wanted to use BrueggersBagels to order 2 dozen bagels. Should be pretty straight forward, right? Wrong! I looked at the “bagel bundles,” but the flavors were already set, and I didn’t want those. I also didn’t need the cream cheese. So I ordered the bagels separately- and it said the total was $46. For 2 dozen bagels?? So I call and explain what I’m trying to do, and the manager says they charge a lot more if you order the bagels like that. She says I have to go ahead and order the bagel bundles online, then immediately call her and tell her to change the bagel choices to the ones I want. I’m not mad at the manager - she was actually going out of her way to help me. But this is ridiculous. There is no way, using BrueggersBagels , to just order 2 dozen bagels— no cream cheese, and just the (4) flavors I wanted. Finally I go to pay, and it asks me “what funds I want to put on my account.” Why can’t I just pay for the order directly, with my credit card, like you do on every other food ordering app?? BrueggersBagels was useless - it would have been a lot easier to just forego the rewards points and call in the order.

Please develop online ordering within the app

I love Bruegger’s Bagels, BrueggersBagels is functional in terms of showing you your points, the menu, and nearby locations, but unlike Caribou’s app (or BrueggersBagels of most food service places), you’re not actually able to order ahead through BrueggersBagels . This would be a much better option because you could make the experience completely contactless + people would be able to automatically apply their rewards as they check out. I know you can order ahead through DoorDash, but if you do that you’re unable to use any rewards you may have, so that doesn’t really fix the problem.
If ordering ahead through BrueggersBagels was an option, I’d give 5/5 stars!

Lacks Many Expected Features

I order food through apps frequently and this is my least favorite because it lacks what I consider pretty basic features like being able to view what I ordered and when. It shows transaction date and amount, but no order details or time order was placed. The customization of food is severely limited and there is no place to write a note on the order. I’d love to order a plain bagel with bacon, egg, and avacado as I can in the bakery itself. But that is not possible on BrueggersBagels . Also would love to put a note saying “I prefer to fill my own coffee cup” because I like to do half decaf and half hazelnut and have room for cream. The lack of customization means I often skip Bruegger’s completely because the in store lines are long and I can’t order what I want ahead, so I go elsewhere.

Worked Great Until....

BrueggersBagels worked awesomely for a long time and was a time saver. Until a chunk of months ago. Then I stopped being able to see updated totals of my account money nor could I add to it (I would add money using my Caribou app which continues to work fine). Then after a while of this, it randomly logged me out. I could no longer log in as it would give me an error (oops! Something when wrong). Couldn’t log in, sign up for an account, request a new password.... I attempted to contact Bruegger’s via their website, but it was not very helpful nor responsive. Eventually I was able to log back in, but that lasted maybe a few weeks before it once again logged me out, and I haven’t been able to log in since. No helpful response from their website. It is very frustrating.

Just okay. Many options missing

BrueggersBagels had improved in the sense that they added the option to add only the amount needed to compete your order, rather than having to add in increments of $5 each time.
The complaint I’ve had, that still hasn’t been addressed as of this update, is that you can only customize your sandwich orders to change the bagel flavor or how many eggs (if breakfast) you want. Why are we not able to change cream cheese flavors on bagel sandwiches, or leave off things we don’t like or can’t have or add things we want added- onion, sun dried tomato spread, etc.
my favorite breakfast sandwich, Better Bacon Cheddar, is not available in BrueggersBagels , but low and behold if you order in store, it’s still available. Manager at store said “just add cream cheese the the peppered bacon and egg bagel, but there is no option to do so...
I also love the herby turkey lunch sandwich, but do not care for the flavor of cream cheese it has, or the sun dried tomato airways, yet no option given to change/remove.
Going in store to order is an option, however the deals given to you in app are usually for order ahead only, of course!
Fix these issues and my rating would go up, for now I give it 2 stars at best

Love the points!

I am loving the points vs the re-fillable mug this year! The mug might be great for some....but definitely did not work for me. Too many times I simply forgot it.

BrueggersBagels has been very easy to use and I like saving and spending points for items I want! Only draw back. If you for get to show BrueggersBagels if you are in a hurry then you lose out on points if you go back to the counter and ask for them to be added. I was told to call customer service and say I forgot to show BrueggersBagels .

**suggestion** maybe allow a scanning feature in BrueggersBagels or a quick way to add your points. Obviously coming up with some sort of safety feature so some can’t add double points for a single visit.

Always and forever

Bruegger's has been a part of my life since the late 1980s! I grew up near Troy, NY, home to the first store. Bruegger's is where I learned about the magic of hummus + sprouts! The magic of a fresh, hot bagel and olive pimento cream cheese! The magic of Hazelnut coffee. A lot of joy of my food-based youth was from the discoveries I made at this establishment . I am currently living in a town where I can have access to bagels that are boiled and then baked - the magic that not every self-respecting bagel joint employs - and I am truly so grateful back. Thanks for more than 30 years of deliciousness, Bruegger’s, truly!

Ability to order is severely limited

I haven’t lived near a Bruegger’s in years and am on a trip at a hotel with a Bruegger’s nearby. I LOVE Bruegger’s, so I downloaded BrueggersBagels that night so I could order the next morning and then just pop down and pick it up. So - here I am - ready to order. I hop on BrueggersBagels , and you cannot customize hardly anything. I was looking to get the beef brisket egg sandwich - without the cream cheese. You cannot do that. The only options are bagel type and add an extra egg. You cannot build an egg sandwich to get to it either. So, I have to to go there and wait in line and order the sandwich and wait. What’s the point of BrueggersBagels ? This is 2021. You can customize on just about any other decent food app. This is NOT a decent food app. I’m a bit amazed at the poor quality.

The bagels are good the people are GREAT

I patronize the store in Brecksville, Ohio frequently and as I indicated I really enjoy the bagels and for that matter the soup. The individuals really seem to put an effort in to show that they care. The only issue I have is the coffee. Starbucks is much much better. Frequently I find my self going to SBUX for coffee and then ordering one of their sandwiches. If you had a better tasting coffee I might frequent your store more often. When I go to your facility it’s almost always a take home order and I stop at SNUX for coffee.

Rewards program is pretty flawed

I almost always get the smoked salmon bagel. It’s delicious and one of my favorite things. Probably slightly addicted at this point. I downloaded BrueggersBagels in order to build up some points and get rewards. However, regardless of what bagel you get, you receive the same number of points. So I could buy the cheapest “egg bagel” and still receive the same number of points as the smoked salmon. When you go to redeem for a free bagel, you can only get an egg bagel. Seems dumb to prevent customers from getting a free bagel of any kind. Just stagger your point system so that I either receive more points for my smoked salmon, or make redeeming a “premium bagel sandwich” another redemption option but at a higher value.

Limited functionality in my area

I really made good use of the Breuggers app during the pandemic, ordering ahead for pickup and adding funds via gift cards, etc. Unfortunately that all came to a grinding halt two months ago when locations in my area quit being able to order ahead, or even scan BrueggersBagels to use the funds or bonus points. Instead it’s back to ordering in person and paying with cash with no bonus points. They blame BrueggersBagels , and say eventually Breuggers will fix it and honor my funds but I’m not holding my breath. Good thing we have other good bagel shops in the area to go to.

Thanks Bruegger’s!

During this time of pandemic Bruegger's has been one of the great comforts in life, I mean how scary can life be as long as I can still walk down the street for a warm toasty bagel and coffee! And the best part, it’s made to perfection and ready for safe pick up just inside the door. I’ve never waited or come into contact with anyone, yet there’s always a friendly “good morning”, “thank you”, or “have a great day!” called out from afar.

Thank you Bruegger’s Bagels!

Very poorly designed

App does not allow for any of the modern ordering conveniences. You cannot place an order for a dozen bagels and choose which kind you want (SERIOUSLY? I have to let them pick? Isn’t that the point of going to the bagel store?) payment options are limited to Apple Pay which didn’t work and filling out the form to add my credit card, why no PayPal option? I placed an order and was told to click in here when I get there but can’t find that option anywhere and cannot navigate back to see my order details. Overall the worst ordering app I’ve used so far.

Almost 5 Stars

We love the bagels. The portion is on point. The crust is chewy. The jalapeño cc has just enough spice. And the BLT is generous.
I have been going to this store for over 10 years and the staff has always made me feel welcome.

The drinks offering has changed for the worse. It use to have more healthy options like Naked Juice. Seems like they made a choice to change due to Covid. I hope they bring some additional choices back.

No Customization

Although I really enjoy the flexibility of ordering ahead, Bruegger’s has sacrificed customization and removed some of their bagels from BrueggersBagels on purpose.

I only order one or two of the bagels on the menu - those are not available on BrueggersBagels . The coupons I receive for ordering bagels on BrueggersBagels will not show some of the bagels that are available typically in BrueggersBagels . I feel like every time I open it I get disappointed.

I believe that Bruegger’s is trying to use BrueggersBagels to push us to buy some of their less popular bagels. A recent interaction with customer service (through email, because their phoneline has been gutted) proved this to be the case.

I brought to their attention that some bagels in store weren’t available on BrueggersBagels . Their response “unfortunately some items aren’t on BrueggersBagels ”.

While I love their bagels, I will probably think twice whenever I see one of their promotions or emails, thinking only of the nasty cinnamon sugar or cinnamon raisin bagels that I can order through BrueggersBagels .

Disappointing

My local shop doesn’t seem to know how to fulfill orders from BrueggersBagels.

I ordered a dozen in advance knowing they would have run out of the ones we’d want by the time I arrived. Gave them plenty of time before my order would be picked up. I get there and they don’t even know about app ordering. They try telling me I already picked it up. Then that the types aren’t in the dozen that I ordered.

Either don’t list the shops that don’t know how to fulfill app orders or train staff on how orders work. Someone did see that my order came in when they looked at the registers computer. This was disappointing.

Simple, painless and touchless way to pay and redeem rewards

BrueggersBagels makes life simpler and safer. It’s touchless. You don’t need cash, thus a simple process to pay for your purchase. It’s also easy to add cash to your account either via a credit card or gift card. You also can access your transaction history. Finally, you accumulate points as part of the rewards program, and they’re easily claimed from BrueggersBagels .

Make another pot of coffee!

Have been a patron of Bruegger’s since opening in Jacksonville, FL in the 90’s. I now live in Irmo, SC and my home Bruegger’s is at Lake Murray Blvd. Love the variety of bagels and cream cheese! I do have a grievance toward the older lady at the register when ordering a coffee. If I order a small, she pours an extra small. If I order a medium, she pours a small. If I order a large, she pours a medium- two inches from the top! It irks me to no end that I want to make an extra trip to Starbucks for a coffee after picking up a bagel/cream cheese at Bruegger’s!

Love it’<3 The bagels are freshly made Here!

Best bagels: Perfect cleanliness. Honestly the greatest for fresh, gourmet bagels breakfast sandwiches, etc. The website: shows bakery’s info for the store, the ability to look at the full menu with easy give you the ability to look at their offers, deals &prices. Love that there’s a rewards system and they give promotions to members, which is the most enticing thing and t heir deals they send me get me every single time.

Great food at a great price!

Bruegger’s has the best bagels in town! The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. They have something for everyone. I’m a vegan and they now offer Daiya dairy-free cream cheese, as well as hummus and sundried tomato paste. You can also add up to three free vegetables to a bagel, turning a simple bagel with cream cheese into an affordable and healthy sandwich. There are delicious bagel options like Whole Wheat and Whole Wheat Everything that not only taste good, but are good for you too. They even offer free refills on large fountain drinks.

Love you guys!!!!!

This has been my favorite place since I was a teenager in the 90s. My husband worked there and I have been a weekly client for over 20 years. We now bring our kids. I wish there were more open in Rochester NY. There were 2 in Greece NY and since closing one location the other is now so crowded it’s hard.
Since I’m there all the time anyways I do love BrueggersBagels. I have earned a lot and get a lot of free items. It’s a great system.

Good bagels, downgraded rewards

My kids love the bagels so we go and get a dozen every week or so. They used to use a punch card reward system where you got a free dozen for every 12 dozen you bought. Now the force you to download an app, harvesting any data they do, and after buying a dozen a week for almost a year, I still don’t qualify for a free dozen. App is good because I realize I have spent more than $300 and not got any perks, but my plan is to hang on for a short while longer, then find another bagel shop. Second star for good info about how much money I spent, but no more stars because of loss of perks. Thanks, but no thanks Bruegger’s!

Why did I get charged $1 to load money on the app?

Downloaded app on day 1. Used it successfully for a dozen purchases as I am a regular at Brueggers. At first it would take a day to post points but now it seems to do it instantly. Yesterday I decided to load $25 on my card as it promised 30 bonus points. The points posted immediately along with the $25 available to use in store. But I got popups from Amex which alerts me instantly about charges. It showed the $25 from Brueggers but 10 seconds later a $1 charge from Caribou Coffee. I know Caribou and Brueggers are the same company, but why did Caribou steal $1 from me with no notice? I never authorized this second charge.

Customer Service

I’ve only been in here a couple of times. Each time I was greeted with warm, friendly and personable staff and a different staff group each time. A fast moving line is nice. A fast moving line with eye contact and a smile is even better. The bagels are delicious and the best I’ve had but I would go back here just because the staff seems happy which makes me happy to be there.

Best bagels!!!

Bruegger’s has the best bagels! They had a shop in my college town and I’ve been a fan ever since. Now my kiddos are big Bruegger’s fans. Bruegger’s is always a hit with my family. I really like their sandwich options. My son gets a plain bagel with peanut butter...then he goes back and gets another. 😁. My daughter is a plain bagel with bacon and cheese kinda girl. BrueggersBagels is great too. It’s the quickest way to get free bagels and is easy to use.

Love Bagels

We love to go to Bruegger’s for a quick, fresh bagel with cream cheese. My favorite bagel used to be the jalapeño/cheddar, but now I also love the jalapeño. The cream cheese is always fresh as well. The servers are always very pleasant and work quickly to ensure everyone is served as soon as possible. We always take a dozen bagels and a few containers of cream cheese when we visit my sister. It just wouldn’t be the same without Bruegger’s!

Great Changes

I took a break from coming here for several months simply because it was too expensive. While it’s still somewhat pricey, the updated menu offerings and store layout is very appealing. BrueggersBagels rewards makes me more likely to pick this place over other coffee establishments in my area. The food and drinks are as good as ever.

What is the point if you can’t order on the app?

The whole point of quick service restaurants like brueggers having apps is having an online ordering component. Why in this day and age can you not order ahead of time and pick it up at the store? I would go here so many more times if I did not have to wait in the extremely long line at our local brueggers. I have been waiting for a year or two to add this and finally just deleted BrueggersBagels . An app to do more than track loyalty points. They are missing a major business opportunity. So dumb.

Minor issue

Was at my local Bruegger’s and had BrueggersBagels open. A pop up showed saying I’m not connected to the internet. I tapped “connect” but received an Error 404 message. Tapped cancel to go back, where it asked me again if I wanted to connect. I was basically stuck in an endless loop. Ended up killing BrueggersBagels , turned off my WiFi settings, then opened BrueggersBagels again. It worked fine after that. There should be a way out of that loop.

Can’t log into my account...it says user name/password invalid. Then I select forgot password and Prompts for email address..I enter email address and submit it. System responds that it sent a reset email. When I check no email received in either inbox or junk mail box. If I try to create a new account using Delpat@redacted the system rejects the new account. Hope you can fix my account with this email address.
