Metal Pay: Buy & Sell Crypto Reviews

A new issue. I sold some ETH in the Metal Pay app, cashing it out for Metal Cash. I am able to withdraw these funds by transferring them to my bank if I choose, but when I try to purchase any crypto product, my balance displays as $0. I cannot see any place within MetalPay that shows my balance as not being settled, and I would think I could not withdraw the funds to my bank if they were not settled. What is the point of Metal Pay cash if it is treated differently depending on the transaction type you are attempting to complete? If there is a difference in the way these funds are treated by Metal Pay based on the way the user is attempting to utilize them, the documentation of such handling is poor enough that I have not been able to locate it.

Update: I contacted Metal Pay support and received a response that my funds cannot be used due to a delay with MTL sell orders. This issue does not relate to a MTL sale and I am able to transfer the funds out to my bank if I want to, so this issue does not appear to be relevant to me. I am disappointed that Support would try to assign blame on an issue that does not, on its face, have anything to do with my issue. If somehow it does relate to my issue, the Sell Order outage notice does not indicate such, nor did the feedback from Support. Extremely troubling for a company that wants me to trust them with my money and crypto.

I thought I would try out Metal Pay’s ACH direct deposit system, probably not the best idea considering we’re in the middle of a pandemic which is killing the economy and specifically hadn’t received a paycheck for over a month prior to this direct deposit. Received an email and push notification with a exciting confetti animation and all....when I attempt to send that money out MetalPay displays an error telling me that I don’t have permission, REALLY?! I don’t have permission to use my money?!?!

So then I thought okay, I’ll just buy some crypto with it and cash it out that way, NOPE WRONG! Also blocked from doing that, received an error I had insufficient balance a thought the balance at the bottom of the buying portal showed a positive balance from my direct deposit.

Being extremely disappointed and now very stressed and concerned considering everything going on in the world, I contact support and receive a quick reply from Jeremy whom tells me he will forward my ticket to a support specialist who may take up to 3 business days before I get a reply! Cool METAL PAY, thanks I’m sure you guys need those funds a lot more than my extremely broke self.

Opened account with all items required upon account implementation. IDs, face scan, & more. I began using account and liked it a lot but then all of sudden my account was frozen without any warnings or time to remedy ...for not being able to verify the items MetalPay captured (ID -face scan etc). I responded within hour with the documents again. I'm now on 3rd business day of being locked out from some funds (thank god I did not have more) and can't get in to dispute what's an incorrect debit by metal pay. So...you follow the instructions and they'll hold your money & your info hostage for 3 plus days and if you follow up with Chat or email they give you generic busy response with the added stupidity of someone any new emails I send yo follow up just moves my original to theback of line. So basically, don't bother us. Also, there is nobody that will contact the mystical approval time so no wasting time as customer service to get you estimate. They'll disrespect you / don't use

I’ve used Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, and Metal Pay to buy crypto. Metal‘s clean, beautiful design, easy UX, and low fees make it my favorite. If you just want to buy and send cryptocurrencies, this is MetalPay . Registration and connecting my bank account was super fast and easy, sending and receiving crypto is a breeze. If you have questions, their support team is very responsive. Their Proton wallet is great too. I send crypto between Metal Pay and Proton with no fees, while the same transaction between Binance and their official wallet, Trust Wallet, costs an arm and a leg - worse than a traditional bank. I’m looking forward to Metal Pay adding more trading pairs. Then I can just stay within its ecosystem and forget about the crazy fees and clunky payment processes of other platforms.

I wish I gave 0 stars MetalPay not even worth 1. contacted them about referrals and they said they will get back to me and credit me haven’t heard from them in days so I wrote a review. They replied on App Store to contact them again they will help. Which is a lie. They said that same stuff that anyone who referred people on the 17 would get credit but it was the 25-26 when I brought it to their attention. Now their saying referrals are closed and won’t credit me for the 4 people who signed up!. Which is a scam because they just decided to close the referrals on the 30th of Jan. Y’all are scamming people y’all referrals service was still open durning the 25-26! An y’all said y’all would credit. It was closed down durning the 30th it wasn’t closed on the 25-26! Now everyone who signed up under me saying I lied and scammed them so Thanks! I be letting Apple know and also all the people I was gonna referral and the people I did to not download this scam app! And I will be deleting . Everyone get Abra! They actually pay for remand don’t lie like MetalPay

A few weeks ago this app deposited money into my bank account and within days removed these funds. This erroneous transaction put in to question the validity of my bank balance. I reached out to the this app support channel because once the funds were removed from my personal bank account by MetalPay, I found my account in the negatives. The this app support channel has done nothing to rectify this issue, other than saying it won’t happen again. How are we to trust the integrity of this apps system if it’s actions are perfidious?

I really enjoyed Metal because it was a simple to use app and clean, and I was stoked to hear that they filled for a bank charter a month ago, however this right here doesn’t look good. The company that wants to be a bank is making erroneous charges like this to its users, and not compensating the users who were effected by this says only one thing: This will happen again and it could be worse.

Downloaded MetalPay today and loved the interface. MetalPay is very easy to use and very appealing to the eye. I sent myself some btc from my gemini wallet and the funds reflected in not even 10 minutes! Not too long after I was given the option to withdraw if I wanted to (I didn’t).

Fast forward half a day later - I purchase $500 in BTC and withdraw to an external wallet. Everything seemed to be going fine with the transaction until I left MetalPay (literally for 10 seconds to reply to a text) & once I returned I was signed out of MetalPay . Now, every time I try to login I receive an error as if the account does not exist!

Now I am stuck with no access to my account (or the $27 and some change that’s stuck inside), nor do I have any assurance that the $500 in BTC that I sent will ever reach its destination. I have submitted a “ticket” with customer service so I will update accordingly…

EDIT:: I’m in a metal pay Facebook group and everyone is having issues withdrawing money. When they email support, everyone is getting the same “your account needs to be manually reviewed” message. So over 50 people all need to be reviewed at the same time? Sounds like bs to me.

Don’t waste your time with their refer a friend program. Your referral will sign up with all their information and NEITHER of you will get the $6 bonus as promised. When you email support about it, they send you a generic copy and paste response about how they’re “quickly” trying to fix it but you will not get paid for those referrals whatsoever. False advertising, borderline scam. They get the download and the new users while the person who referred gets 0. I missed out on over $50 because of this. Deleting. Don’t give them any more free users. DO NOT REFER YOUR FRIENDS. Use Abra. They pay $25 for a new referral and they actually pay out.

Not worth it. I got MetalPay because of the positive reviews but they are obviously fake. I can relate to everyone that submitted 1 star in regards to the issues they have experienced.

Don’t put all of your personal info into an app that DOES NOT WORK! I wasn’t able to add my primary card to add funds. It kept giving an error. I tried a third card & they submitted a preauthorization then canceled every attempt to deposit. I would recieve an email saying “your deposit was successful” but the status in MetalPay was “failed”. Then when I asked them why it wasn’t working they said “we found “discrepancies””, so they went ahead and closed the acct. No there are no discrepancies, this mediocre app has too many bugs and glitches to even be on the market. FYI I’ve given MetalPay and customer service over a month to get it right... just never happened.

I was using metal pay for nearly a month, when all of the sudden after i made a large deposit, they froze my account! This was on December 10th. Ive been trying to get my money back ever since. They are requesting documents like bank statements, Along with the selfie, holding a note and your ID. Even though the requests were absurd, I sent them the documents anyways because i want my money back. The person Ive been Emailing back and forth “Edwin” Said it would only take 3 business days. He has made all sorts of empty promises. It’s been 17 days and counting. He hasn’t even responded to my emails since the 20th. This company is an absolute joke. I would suggest you run in the other direction. Go to a more reputable company like i wish i had done. These people literally stole my money!! How can they get away with this! Please advise!

I recently downloaded the this app thought I could use the direct deposit for my payday check . I am very disappointed with the KYC verification. I have tried verifying my identity several times but keeps saying” we weren’t able to verify the information you provide” . I have used several money app with KYC verification but never encountered such difficulties when trying to verify my identity. I wrote your support services n tried to explain the problems with the KYC verification . You guys keep sending me an automated mail over and over again. This is the worse money app ever made.

Metal Pay has an easy to use product with a well-designed user interface. Very easy to get into the crypto world using Metal Pay and they have some of the cheapest fees I’ve come across yet in the crypto space. The Proton Wallet is also great if you decide to get further into the crypto world.

Their customer service is amazing as well. Had to get my account reset because Metal just got licensed for crypto service in my state (Washington) which is no small feat. Customer service responded to my ticket within minutes and had me hooked up and ready to go.

I have been using mobile payment apps for years and have always had issues besides the ridiculous fees they charge. Whether it’s freezing my account, bad customer service or just a boring experience. FINALLY an app that is changing all this, exciting and fun to use and now both myself and whomever I send money to get PAID instead of having to shell out hard earned cash in the form of fees. I’m already paying bills with it, sending money to friends and loved ones. Once merchant services is available I’ll be using this for my business as well. Excellent customer service to boot!

I have been using MetalPay for over 4 years without any major issues. A few small problems and support helped resolve them quickly. Just shake your phone while in app to contact support or click on your profile picture and scroll down to contact support and provide feedback. MetalPay is extremely easy to use. My non-crypto savvy friends can use this easily as you justuse a phone number to send cash or crypto funds. Bitcoin, Metal MTL and Proton XPR purchases are feeless, which is very nice compared to the competition. Metal Pay Rocks! 😎🤘

Pros
Through the Metal app you can buy Crypto I feel easier then coinbase, you’re awarded with Crypto using MetalPay with slicker interface then that of Venmo or Zelle. Also verification through ID and SSN is a great addition makes me feel all warm and safe inside, with my money that is.

Cons
Jokes aside only thing MetalPay that is missing, which has been already mention is no debit card for your cash balance which ultimately means no interest, which ultimately means money just sitting there...doing nothing. Point is add a debit card guys and this would be one of the best apps out right now.

I feel as if there should be something telling you that your Referrals Are on the way and pending other than just playing the waiting game also I have multiple people who have Don’t the Sighn up for the bonus and it’s been 24hrs so now I’m loosing trust witch in turn will make me not be able to help get people to use MetalPay love MetalPay just cashed out waiting 3-5 buisness days I’ll be back with a review on that please take the time to fix/add something To Tell you were the money is at In the Process of getting it don’t like the waiting game or guessing game Thank You

Some fees are high I can’t lie I tried to send 50 in usdt and it wanted a 24 dollar fee for that but with other stufff like btc and eth it’s rather normal and simple app for people who are maybe not investing in crypto but buying daily or weekly for leisure activities like crypto gambling or etc… definitely more simple and easy to use than most of the apps out the and the minimum purchase is 15 bucks so that’s a plus as well. Overall I’d recommend to anyone try it out it’s probably something your looking for.

I’m simply blown away but the layout and design of MetalPay amd platform, don’t listen to the hater reviews, those who use Venmo will love it especially if they’re into crypto. Very clean. Customer service actually does their job and replies back to questions via email or on Twitter super fast. Hoping big things for this company and MTL. Would like to see a trade/convert crypto feature in the future for the marketplace. A great app and worthy of competition to Voyager and Coinbase. Give it a try!

My account was initially flagged for security reasons and I was unable to access it for a short period of time. After getting into contact with some very kind Metal employees and support team my issue was quickly resolved (within 10 minutes). I am beyond satisfied with the care they have shown for their customers and their dedication to making a quality application! I would highly recommend MetalPay to anyone who is considering it!

After constant emailing, I reached out to them via Facebook because i did not receive any deposits after my account being suspended they unsuspended my account and let me rewithdraw my earnings from referral bonus that was cancelled and sent back to the suspended account. I was thinking it was a complete joke but, they did resolve and let me withdraw and apologized for it, I received my earnings. I understand this is an new and developing app, awesome concept and pay out just needs to brush up on a few things. Thanks metal!

1) The Metal Pay app is beautiful and very creative in its design. It blows away existing payment apps and makes them look old and outdated. Sid Parihar known for many of the IOS graphic images that we are familiar with on the IPhone really hit a home run with this one.

2) First it costed money to send money with PayPal, then it was free to send money with Venmo, and now it pays money to send money with Metal. Very cool.

3) I plan to save all the Metal pop I earn in MetalPay because I think it might be worth more in the future... AND DID I MENTION HOW FUN IT IS TO PRESS THAT POP BUBBLE OVER AND OVER FOR THE REWARDS?

4) I am also using their Crumbs app which is part of the Metal ecosystem. Works really well and invests my spare change in crypto. Plus the instant buy feature they just released finally makes it easy to jump into crypto with my dollars.

Metal pay is the obvious choice for attentive intelligent people. It is identical to other payment apps with the exception that you earn a 10% rewards on all payments made through MetalPay (for the next eight years per their white paper). Of course convincing your friends to switch to metal is an inconvenience, but long term both parties are rewarded. I am unable to fathom why MetalPay will not overtake its competitors. I am a blockchain enthusiast and it is lovely to see MetalPay make a bridge between enthusiasts and the general consumer.

Great app love the look and ease ability of the interface to buy and sell crypto and gain metal from transactions. Only thing that concerns me is the wait time on cashing out. I shouldn’t have to wait 12 days for a transaction to be sent to a banking account. That’s my only hiccup, but metal does have good customer support that helped me through the wait. I would definitely recommend MetalPay to a friend that’s getting into crypto.

If you ever need to send people money, you need to use metal pay. They give you free crypto whenever you send and receive money. And it’s so easy to transfer to your bank after that. I can’t lie, I’m very biased towards metal pay because of all the free crypto I’ve earned. I love earning on my normal activities. I also like that it goes instantly if you keep money in it. I just wished banks worked as quick.

You guys suspend my account because of a red flag? And have waiting for more than 24 hrs stating you guys will escalate to higher person, to how man people do you guys need to escalade a situation.? And you guys suspended my account , now all im worried off is my chase information being there. If you guys have a problem with removing money all at once and flagging me you guys should state that with removals of first timers it can red flag the account but suspend? Thats too much. Super easy to use and now you have options to purchase multiple different crypto currency . Only thing is I wish the funds would go in more immediately, and that’s probably the biggest thing that compares to other similar apps but for the most part it’s simple and easy to use. Cash app is a little confusing and Venmo everyone is on but lately has been crashing.
