Didn’t receive the full amount I was promised

Hey, so I’ve been running Favor here and there for a while now, and this is the first time they haven’t given me the money that was promised. Now there's usually promos to get you pumped to run for Favor. For example, if you run 8 favors within a certain time frame you could get up to $80. You usually have to complete it with 70% approval rate. And if you did everything in the promo’s requirements you will receive the money.

Back to the point, I received a notification saying I could get up to $120 if I did 10 favors from 2- close, with a 70% approval rate on Super Bowl Sunday. When I finished I expected to see the money within a few days so I waited. Only a portion of the money was sent to my account. So I messaged Favor’s Support Team to see why I had not received the rest of the money. They replied back saying that there was no such promotion in my area but the next town over. When I replied back saying that I don’t know why I received the promotion in my area but since I did get that specific promotion then I should receive the money I was promised by the corporation. I shouldn’t be held accountable for the glitch in their system.
They told me even if it was a glitch in the system I have no way of proving that so I would not be receiving the money. It was a slap in the face, but now I know I’m better off with DoorDash.🙂

Not Worth Your Time!

I was a favor runner for two months. It started off ok but the company does not seem to care about the runners. If a customer has a large fleet order and the store they ordered from screws up the order, the runner is penalized and receives the bare minimum of $4.10 for your service. Also, they advertise bonuses and top offs throughout the week but don’t initially inform you that you can only receive those payouts if you scheduled yourself in certain areas. If those areas are busy, you can get locked out from receiving favors because there are too many runners and miss the opportunity for the bonus. There is not a working number to contact customer if there are issues. You can only message through FavorRunner for concerns. I have been trying to get someone to respond to me since I never received my $25 for completing 50 favors. It may not seem like much but it is the principle. The fact that I reached out to support on 5 different occasions regarding my bonus and they gave the excuse that they were backed up with a lot of emails. Favor has customer service problems that they must rectify before I would recommend anyone to use their services (employee or customer).

Time is money

As one review said above, time is wasted when we have to be the ones communicating with the customer if an item is out. That should be handled before the order even gets sent to us as a runner. Because when it isn’t, it’s wasting our time, which sometimes, we don’t have much time. Why waste 20-30 minutes of our time having us place the order, waiting for it to get made, finding out what the customer wants if an item is out, when all of this could have been figured out before the order was even sent to the runner? It would be great if Favor could value our time more and work out the issues beforehand so we can spend more of our time running favors and less time troubleshooting and waiting. That way in turn the customer will get their items quicker and we will be able to be more efficient as runners.

On the other hand, I really do like the feature of being able to pick which area you want to do favors in and for how long. Just fix the issues stated above and I think FavorRunner and business would excel.

Way too stressful

I started running when the COVID-19 quarantine started bc I lost my job. I’m grateful to Favor as a way to earn money when I had no other way, but it is way too stressful. Unlike other food delivery apps, you can order anything on Favor, but about 85% of the time, what the customer wants is unavailable or out of stock. It takes forever to get in touch with the customers bc they’re rarely ever by their phone, and the customer’sorders don’t go straight to the restaurant, gas station, pharmacy, or store they want their product from. They just basically make a list of what they want, you the runner then have to call and place the order and/or drive and try to find everything they want. And nothing is completely streamlined all in one interface with FavorRunner . You get your order/run, navigation opens in another app, if the customer texts you it’s back in the runner app and you have to multitask with multiple apps open all at once and try to drive or focus on something else. It’s way too stressful, definitely needs to be made easier to use as a customer and runner. I prefer driving for UberEats

Pretty good aside from some issues

I’ve been doing favor for a while now and in certain areas tips are pretty good. However, I should not have to place the customers order for them. It’s very annoying having to drive to a location to pick up an order while also calling it in at the same time and then having to wait for it to be prepared. The order should automatically be placed once a customer has submitted it that way the restaurant can contact the customer and let them know if any substitutions need to be made. That way, I don’t have to call the customer and restaurant back-and-forth to confirm everything and all I have to do is pick it up. Same for fast food. There should also be a minimum tip that a customer is required to make depending on how much food they ordered and how long it took me to complete the favor. Sometimes a favor can take up to an hour and the customer doesn’t put that into consideration. Other than that it’s good that I can do favor at my own schedule. Hope these flaws are fixed.

Good, but we must talk about ordering..

It’s incredible unsafe to ask us to order FOR the customer.. like if I’m shopping for them at HEB/Walmart/Convenience stores, by all means, I can get those items.
But for restaurants and the like, it should definitely NOT be my job to order the food, like this needs to be a **major** change in the future. Like I’m driving on the highway, I can’t order the food if I’m driving to a Hot Spot. Its fine if I get an order before dropping a current order off, because at the customer’s address I can place my next order. But when orders don’t overlap, it’s very insane to expect us to pull over and call. To make matters worse.. a LOT of restaurants aren’t even allowing us to call in orders anymore, it must be done online. And for $2-3 per delivery before tips, this process must be eliminated entirely. Maybe put online links for each restaurant and phone numbers for those that accept call-in, so a customer can get EXACTLY what they want and if it’s wrong then it’s on the restaurant, or them.
This will take Favor to 5 stars for me, promise.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

Everything about this company is just wrong. Do not work for Favor if you are trying to earn any reasonable income. 95% of the time you are delivering just for the customers to tip you $2 on top of your $2.10 base pay. Customers usually don’t pay until 6-8 hours later and that’s all the tip you get. So basically they aren’t paying you for your time or trouble, hell barely gas. Any grocery fleet order you get the base pay is like $9 and that’s for delivering the groceries and carrying them up 3 flights of stairs. There were several occasions where I accepted an order, got there either the restaurant was closed or customer had cancelled and I was not reimbursed for my gas or time. I’m really sick of this company and their total disregard for the workers who are out here during a pandemic risking our lives only to get a $2 tip. It’s so messed up man. I will definitely never ever work for this company again. Seems like at this point they do not care about the bad reviews from customers they’re waiting to be bought out by a bigger company. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

easy job for quick money,

i worked for favor during the summer before i went back to school and will probably run again over christmas break

it’s super easy & you will catch on to the job quick... if you want during orientation they’ll let you run with someone so you can see how it works.

reading these negative responses i can’t relate because i have yet to have a bad experience.

i saw one about why did favor only deposit $15 when i made x amount today.
- they deposit what you made the previous shift OR sometimes you’ll get random small deposits like that because sometimes favor will adjust your shift bc you are guaranteed to make a certain amount of money.

again, not sure about these negative reviews because i had a great experience w favor. you literally pick your own schedule and can take your self off the schedule right before it time to run & they don’t ask you any questions. you manage yourself.

if you really take advantage of running for favor you can make some pretty good money. even if you’re lazy you can come out with at least $100 in a week.

you get out of this what you put into it for sure.

Instant pay and app doesn’t work!!!!

Instant pay does not work with most cards so you cannot access your pay to pay for gas and continue working! FavorRunner if you try to find out why you cannot get paid sends you to the website that instructs you the information is on FavorRunner (it isn’t!) then locked you out of FavorRunner pay section completely by looping you to the website until you delete and re install FavorRunner …. If you have plenty of money to start off and pay for gas and extras then great if you do not then you are screwed! I called the bank even to ask why I couldn’t link it, the lady said she only knows because of the excess amount of calls she has gotten lately that the favor app will not do instant pay onto the bank debit card! Also the favor app clearly states that money cannot be deposited into a savings account, I waited for hours trying to find what account my money had deposited into only to log in and find my money in my savings account!!! Yes you get paid once a week but this is a train wreck!

Improvement

Overall it’s a typical gig job that allows customers to order from anywhere and do custom orders. The pay structure is horrible Favor pays $2.10 & forces the customer to tip a min of $2 which equals a min of $4.10 off the customers payment clears if not it’s only $2.10 until they can clear payment (can take months). Having to place the order abs go back and forth with a customer due to them not specify certain things for the order leads to wasted time and possible cancellations. This is the greatest flaw of Favor as this should be handled by Favor and would make the delivery process more efficient and cut down on customer wait times which average 1 hour or more due to runners taking on more than one order at a time to make more money. Favor is overall okay for curbside/fleet orders and fast food but having to place, pay, go back and forth with the customer, & wait on the restaurant is what makes me personally go to other apps that are more efficient.

Potential

FavorRunner has the potential to be great. I’m not sure how to fix the problem I’m having but I can’t ever even start running. I made $70 from trying for an entire week every hour to do favor. Because the entire Houston area is locked. There is obviously way too many runners which means a lot of people get left in the dust. I try for hours I check every 30 minutes to an hour it’s ALWAYS LOCKED. I’m getting extremely discouraged and thinking about deleting FavorRunner because the gas I’m spending almost isn’t worth it. When it isn’t locked I got ONE order after waiting 2 HOURS!!! After that order my runner time was up and it was LOCKED AGAIN!!!! It’s so so so stressful. A lot of the times it takes me almost a whole hour to drive from my house to the location, then order, then drive to their house. For a measly $4.10. If they don’t change the tip. If I had more runs/ it wasn’t locked all the time I could potentially make decent money. But no.

Bad runner support . They dont care about the runner

THEY DONT CATE ABOUT THE RUNNER. I had a delivery i went to the place got the food ready then the customer called me crying and yelling that she dont want the food and she been trying to contact favor for more than 90 min to cancel the order. So I contacted-the runner support which took more than 20min to respond with one sentence (sorry we cannot compensate you unless you finish that order) to get compensated for the time ,gas ,and mileage they were like no we wont pay u because u didn’t finish the order. Not to mention i had to argue with the restaurant to cancel the order after it got ready and take their attitude . Not to mention favor only pay you 2.10$ per delivery plus tips which is no more than 2$ and 5$ if they are lucky. Some rarely time u get more but don’t happen every months vs. doordash pay min. 4$ plus tip and they compensates you with no hustle and having you going thro runner success which all take time and u have to prove u r right

Think about it!!!

I have been a independent courier since 2018 and never bumped into a issue like this. So favor doesn’t tell you how much you’re getting paid before hand, they also don’t tell you the mileage. You have to do all the thinking, guessing, calling. So if you take HEB orders the base pay is $8. Favor pays $3 and the customer has to tip a minimum of $5. Remember you don’t know the mileage. Well I’m still new to Houston I take a order, the customer lives 20 miles from HEB. I get paid $8.... I can not make this up. I email favor and was told that I need to pay attention to the details. So if you’re new to Texas and don’t really know all the cities yet, be careful you can get hit with a far drop off. Any other company would have paid for the mileage but favor does not. At least postmates pay for pick up, drop off and miles.

Think about it. You’re better off doing doordash or instacart, shipt. At least you’re not working blind.

Awesome support!!

I have been running with Favor for a while now. I have no complaints when it comes to the support provided to the field. Every staffer I have communicated with has had a great attitude and resolved the issue promptly(whether with a customer or platform tech). They are on the ball with their promos as well. Making it attainable and always adapting to the changes that are occurring in the field, with the fluctuating demand for the service. I have had many thoughts as to improvements to be made to either the platform or the promos and they were implemented not long after. I give them tops for being proactive and listening to what the runners need in the field.

WARNING TO ALL PEOPLE DOING FAVOR

If you want to make less than minimum wage, sign up for favor. If I run for 12 hours I’d be lucky to clear 10/hour ON A GOOD DAY. You get a 2 dollar “tip” automatically from the customer and $2 base. In FavorRunner it shows 4 as the base. If the customer tips $10 for example, that $2 “tip” is still included, so you actually get an $8 tip instead. You basically rely on the customer to tip you very very well to make above minimum wage. If a run takes me 40 mins to call, pick up and drop off the order and they don’t tip( as a lot of people will do) I only make $4 AN HOUR. This is disgusting, I’ve never had a service like this pay the people who make FavorRunner work so little. It’s especially disgusting that this is happening during the virus because I cannot work and I know I have to work 12+ just to survive because I cannot work. I hope this business fails to be honest for paying its money makers so little.

LOW PAY. 👎 App dangerous while driving

$2.10/delivery?

We do the ordering, quality control, the driving, shopping, checking IDs, maintenance on cars, customer service liaison, etc - everything a waitstaff/clerks/drivers/customer service reps/mechanics do (whom get paid a DECENT FLAT RATE & tips) - for peanuts!

At least pay you ELITE DRIVERS a better base pay since they have showed that they are reliable.

You’re passing our wages to your customers - expecting them to tip big. What does that say about your company respecting its customers?
I love driving and I love the ease it is to create a schedule. I love interacting with customers and driving to different restaurants to see what’s new to try out. But more often than not, the math doesn’t work out with all the work we put in (on job and into our vehicles).

Also! When running multiple Favors at one time, can you start color coding each favor interface? Example:
- New Favors: blue
- while in store: green
- En route to drop off: yellow
- At house: Red
I’ve gotten orders mixed up when accepting multiples and driving at the same time. Ive been telling the wrong ppl that I’m ‘at house’ when I’ve ment to push ‘accept favor’.

When I decline a Favor while driving. My ‘Acceptance Rate %’ lingers too long on the screen. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING since I cannot see my directions. PLEASE FIX.

Crap

Dear heavens don’t have any issues with the deposit or changing a card such as you had fraud on your bank card and need to ipdaye to a new on the only response you will get is woops we can’t process that request and for the love of all that is good when you contact the text support they tell you turn the phone off and back on then try resetting FavorRunner then try uninstalling and reinstalling and after all that reach out to tech support did all that waited all day for an email from tech nothing at all text the support back they can’t even give me a day or time that tech can call back like at all this is the most unhelpful app I have ever used. If they could have customer service like door dash it would be great but no eventually someone from tech support will call and the money I have and need at the moment I can deposit at some point but who knows definitely not customer support

By

I am considering deleting the app.

The experience is not a good one. Having to make multiple phone calls to place an order is a bad model. I call the store, they say they no longer sell an item or they ask for further clarification on an item, I call the customer, then I call the store again. This usually takes at least a few minutes. And all the while I am fumbling around between apps. This is not to mention how bad the customer service times are. You disabled phone support altogether... This seems like the wrong thing to do. Why not have more people available to take calls? And the barrage of notifications urging me to do deliveries is incredibly annoying. Lastly, the promos are oftentimes not realistic, because in order to complete the given number of deliveries, I have to sit around for long stretches of time.

Good I guess but needs more improvement ASAP!

I really like favor but I wish I could be able to withdraw the ENTIRE amount of money I make like Uber drivers instead of bits and pieces doesn’t make sense. I made $167 less than two days and the amount that’s going to be deposited to my bank account is $15 ... like really? What’s the point? What am I going to do with $15 in my bank account? If that’s the case might as well wait till the end of the week like a regular job or something pretty stupid, illogical and irritating...

Other than that it’s pretty cool driving around makes the time go by fast, it’s also good that I get to set my own schedule and what not take off whenever I need too. I recommended to my friends/family that want to make a little cash on the side. Will continue to recommend..

Great experience but pay not the best

Honestly I was a bit disappointed when starting last week. I didn’t get a lot of favors and made less than $40 in 6 hours. At the orientation they said we could guarantee a base pay of at least $9 an hour but I only made $2.15 in the hours that I had no favors.
I was hoping to make this a full-time job but it hasn’t got me to making enough to do so. I honestly made more money through favor working in Austin over the weekend than I have in DFW. Sadly not many people know about favor out here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Other than that I have enjoyed working for favor. Everyone has been very nice even the customers. I just wish favor could pay the drivers better knowing we are using our own gas, cars, time, and miles to do favors.

By

So far so good!

I have done about 250 favors and only had an issue when I left my card at a previous stop. Favor support always has my back and are always so friendly! Their response time is always quick (minus a few bugs sometimes, but hey! Technology Does Fail sometimes!)

To the previous negative comment. You must be doing something wrong on your own. You have to put the customer first rather than your own needs. If you are doing it strictly for money profit and do not put customer needs first, you will not succeed. It also depends on the AREA you run. Favor has many tips and tricks for success it’s up to you to be successful, considering this is practically your own business. So treat it like one.

Doing favor part time has been the best extra source of income for my family. I will continue to run for them because I know the process works.

Responsive customer support

I had a miss understanding with a order. I texted customer support it took about three minutes for a reply and it was longer after each text. I was next in line to purchase to item when the customer texted back with a different order. I also texted the customer asking for the correct order no reply. Customer support took about 5 minutes to reply. I called thinking it would be faster but that was just a longer wait. I think they should have fast quicker responsive supporters especially for runners trying to deliver at a excellent timing.

Do not waste your time and Gas!

Hey, i want to write a LOT! Basically, you will only get paid $2.10 per delivery plus %100 of tips ( Big Lie)!! They tell you you will get a %20 of the order from favor plus tips. THAT IS NOT TRUE! They charged my friend $25 for a happy meal!!! They only give drivers $2.10 plus what ever amount they choose from the customer tips. Typically, allll you get per order is [ $2.10 ] plus $3.00 OR $5.00 as tips from customer!! It’s a lie! That 3 or 5 dollars is the amount that favor chooses to give you!!!
Do not waste your time!!! You will get 7 to 9 dollars an hour ==>> Minus Gas, Minus Tax, Minus tear and wear on your vehicle THAT EQUALS to about $4.00/hour at the end!!
I chose to do DoorDash that pays $13-15/hour so after all the expenses you can get what a regular job gives you. $9-$10/hour!

Go try it yourself, and THANK ME LATER.

Running for one year

I find only one useful activity on FavorRunner that is legitimately worth my time, and is minimally frustrating.

That’s taking fleet orders for HEB. It would appear the minimum value paid to driver is twice the promised traditional favor. If done twice in an hour you could be making up to twice the hourly guarantee, thus invalidating the need to take any other deliveries.

I encourage the developers to make it so runners can schedule themselves to only take fleet orders or something in settings where they allow early assignment. Especially with the heb promotion going on my local heb retailers are overwhelmed with the amount of delivery happening and it’s going on at odd times like early morning so I believe this would further offset this issue.

TLDR; Only take fleet orders from HEB. They pay twice as much. Overall running is a good experience if you stick to that. Experience may vary by region.

By

Make it easier.

The issue is that you need more runners but there are barriers for most of migrants to work in the environment that Favor opted to work in. Work together with the restaurants so that they can accept fleet orders so that runners don’t have to hustle ordering food for customers, sometimes making mistakes on what customers want. Secondly work on your system dispatching, imagine if you are picking up from Barton Creek Square Mall and delivering to far East 290 Hwy and at your half way you get a pick up from downtown to far West 290. Please update that.

By

Very Disappointed

You can’t see how much you earned on each run without having to sign in to the website itself. Most people tip the minimum of $2 only because they have to. You aren’t given your total earned automatically bc customers have until the end of the day to pay so you really don’t know exactly how much you made until the next day when those who haven’t paid are processed. There should be some way to rate customers. Most are chill and really nice but some can be a nightmare. For the running I did in one day I earned just over $120 and only $27 was deposited into my account. What gives?

By

Favor

Yo FavorRunner is cool.. I enjoy working on my own time, but favor has to do a better job at depositing people’s money. My deposits fail over and over again which makes the process even longer for me to get my money THAT I EARNED. Also the support team needs to reach out to people faster if people email them with their problems. And you guys need to start reposting people’s money all at once instead of in bits and pieces... that’s irritating..

Another Gig Economy Scam

Good luck making minimum wage when factoring in gas, maintenance, depreciation, etc on your car. You will be doing everything from placing the order, picking it up, contacting customer for any changes or mistakes they made, dropping it off, and everything in between. They force you to attend a orientation that is unpaid, you will be screwed come tax time as they consider you a contractor. Basically a bunch of tech bros looking to take advantage of the time economy's most vulnerable in the hopes they can sell their app to one of the big boys and cash out. Don't believe their marketing or hype. It is in essence the gig economy's version of a pyramid scheme, just tweaked to not be one.

Love Favor

I do Favor full time and it has opened up so many opportunities for me. I got my own apartment and since I make my own schedule I am planning on going back to school. Thank you so much Favor!

App review: FavorRunner is really easy to learn no complaints. Sometimes it does glitch when trying to open templates but I’ve noticed it’s when my service isn’t on full bars so that probably has something to do with it.

By

Hours are only ever available for 5 minutes..

Conveniently FavorRunner won’t load only when the schedule drops. This is nothing more than a badly executed copy of postmates, without any kind of ordering system with restaurants which only makes deliveries longer. They say you can make up to $25 an hour, I haven’t made more than $15 an hour on the platform since 2015, and that’s if you can even get on the schedule for more than an hour or two at a time. Great gig if you want to make barely above minimum wage after paying for your own gas if you only need to work about 5 hours a week.

By

App froze during the middle of an order

I lost out on runs for this entire hour. Support takes too long to reply with supposedly instant help through text. I’m trying get an answer on IG I will be paid for this hour because my app froze. I was working on the road and your app stopped me from completely a current order and receiving an other one. I am a sitting duck. I have a scheduled shift tomorrow 5-10 and I probably won’t be able to do it if someone doesn’t respond back to me. I’ve contacted through text. No respond because my order is technically completed. And now email. And nothing.

By

New Update. Absolutely one word. Stupid.

Why would you limit areas to where you can only get a couple jobs at a time, rather than multiple jobs in a large area? The fact that shrinking down places where you can work, simply divides the Runner community in only certain areas. I just can’t imagine runners lining up in cedar park, waiting for only one or two favors a night, just to have less pay, with less area to work in. I’m certain I’m not alone on this. If they can increase the size of places and areas where you can work, this would not only benefit everyone, but the company itself.

The truth   1 year ago

I’ve got different type of situations with as a runner. I have been sent to a address that is supposed to be a Waffle House and it is a house. The same with a circle k on highway 6. And have been at a hotspot sitting for 2 to3 hours and seen same people getting orders 3 and 4 times how is this possible. The thing is that I reported these issues and nothing has been done. The craziest thing is that the ones that only run 3 to 5 miles are the ones that they always treat better.

Terrence Wiley   2 years ago

I don't see why you have to log in by 6:05 a.m. to get a position just to get one to 2 orders 4 hours later or be locked out, plus their incentives are really bogus they make it seem like they doing you a favor but you are working for it but they want you to stay out there on a what if.

Jennifer   2 years ago

I was supposed to get my guarantee money yesterday and still haven't. I've tried contacting customer support and they don't respond
