Great idea, poor follow

Idea is wonderful, still new to it myself but it needs more people posting meals. The more the people, the more diverse options available on demand, feels pretty limited right now. I would like the option to have my own recipes on certain days that haven’t been posted to cyber space for the grocery tool, but I don’t think other than writing things into the grocery list and the title on the day it’s an option, even then, I don’t know how to add those things yet. Favoreats is promoted by just a few that I follow on Instagram and not a single one of them has a full menu planned out, so you can see the variety of options feeling even more limited when the creators themselves aren’t using it to its full potential. I also have issues opening up the boards on people I follow. It will say they have +X (whatever value of recipes) and it’s not opening. Sometimes I can get one to open but then I can’t get the next one to open. I’ll give it a little more time but as it is, it’s not as great as it could and should be.

Subscription Baiting

I used to love Favoreats and all it had to offer. However, when it wouldn’t let me save meals to my plan I was a bit frustrated and confused after years of being able to do so (pre-the decision for developers to start charging for services). So I decided to buy the basic monthly subscription, as I understood that would limit ads and allow me to save meals as before. Unfortunately after only a few days I was blocked from adding meals to my plan again and still received ads to buy the higher subscription... what they term unlimited? Not sure if it is because I tried to add more then 5 or so meals at a time but that seems a bit ridiculous for something you are paying for. Monetary value aside, the biggest problem I had with Favoreats was communication and transparency up front. Canceled basic subscription due to these issues and deleting from phone. I suggest you search for a different meal prepping app, with a more transparent and user-friendly interface.

Only one per day....

I loved Favoreats and would promote it to everyone. Family, friends, IG followers, etc. was definitely 5 stars. But now with having to pay to meal plan more than one recipe per day I can not in good faith promote Favoreats any longer to people. Meal planning helps keep people on track, budget, save money, save time and now you are charging to do more than recipe per day? Unless you start planning a week ahead of time you will never be able to use Favoreats effectively. Not to mention if you have a party or like to plan breakfast, lunch and dinner or desert you will never be able to without paying. I don’t think you gave any thought to the fact that many people who use your app can’t afford to pay a monthly subscription that’s why they are Meal planning in the first place! They aren’t planning because they are rich or have money to blow. Give people more choices like 3 or 4 recipes per day and some other cheaper middle of the road option and you get stars back.

Missing just 1 thing

This is awesome but it is missing the ability to have multiple people contribute to a single collection. My friends and I would love to all contribute to a single collection for recipes that we have tried and know are good, but as of right now we just have to search through each other’s collections manually. Everything else about this is amazing.

Can’t meal plan without a subscription

I’ve been using Favoreats for over a year and loved it. They started introducing ads, which was annoying but fine. Now they have a subscription for $5 a month for you to really be able to do ANYTHING. I’m going to have to find another app because I’m not paying that to meal plan. It’s really sad because I loved Favoreats and told all my friends about it. I understand it costs money to run Favoreats , but I’m not here for that much money a month. If they lowered the cost, maybe I would reconsider. But for now, I’ll be finding something else and won’t be referring people to this app.

I also wish they’d take your last invitees and use those for the invitation for free upgrades thing, as I’ve had many people join from sharing.

I hope it gets better

The idea is solid but it needs a bigger following. The foods are very “standard American diet”, and lack diversity in recipes and preparation. Navajo tacos or Hawaiian haystacks is not true diversity. Hopefully, once the bulk of the followers are outside of Utah, Favoreats will have a richer, more diverse listing.
Also, if you know exactly what you want, Favoreats can give you a recipe, but browsing by ingredients fails hard compared to Pinterest. I typed in “ground beef” and was shown 37 recipes, mostly repeats, with no option to keep scrolling.
I think the shopping list is great, but searching Pinterest and exporting my recipes into Favoreats is tedious. I hope that as more people join and import their recipes, it gets better. I’ll keep it on my phone and check back next month.

Great concept, but buyer beware

I love Favoreats. I first started using it when it was free. It syncs with your Pinterest account and makes your grocery list for you! After not using it for a while, since they switched to being a paid app, I decided to bite the bullet and pay. I opted for the basic subscription, because I only use it for the Pinterest syncing and digital grocery list. BEWARE the basic paid subscription only allows 6 meals to be planned for the month. 6 MEALS for and entire month, for a paid meal planning app. I was not able to find this information when deciding to purchase.

A busy mom’s lifesaver!

This is the best meal planning app I’ve ever used! I used to absolutely dread meal planning, list making, and grocery shopping, but Favoreats makes it so easy that I actually enjoy planning and cooking for my family again! It’s easy to use and the comment section on each recipe let’s you know if it’s even worth trying or if something may need tweaking. I wish it was a bit easier to include your own saved recipes, but the grocery list is easy to edit. Love, love, love it!

Loved it, but too expensive now

I have used Favoreats for a long time and have loved it. I told everyone I knew about it. It has made meal planning and keeping track of all of my online recipes so easy. When they added adds it was a little annoying but I found it worth it to pay the $11 for add free. It hasn’t even been a year since I paid for add free and now I can’t really use Favoreats . Now they want to charge $60 a year or $9.99 a month. That seems a little steep and just can’t afford it. I’m sad I won’t be able to use Favoreats anymore.

All Recipes in one Place!

Love Favoreats ! Made it so all my meals are in 1 place... All categorized the way I like... And best part is the ability to add the family favorites that the recipe is literally on a torn piece of paper... Simply type it in... And it's saved and so much easier to read!😉 And love the ability to add to my meal plan... Then convert to a grocery list(then can edit that list if already have some of the items). So much easier to have my weekly meal plan on my phone then I never lose it!

Used to love it

Used to love Favoreats and I still use it but currently on the hunt for an alternative.

I love: that you could import from Pinterest, most websites, and manually add recipes. Meal plan, look at the grocery list, and see ingredients and steps side by side.

Ever since they started the subscription plan things have been downhill. Subscription prices, to me, are outrageous for a single app. Especially when there are so many other alternatives. If the prices were more reasonable for unlimited use or there was a one time upfront fee, I would consider it. You can continue to use Favoreats for free with ads but the amount of ads is excessive and they include pop ups.

To use all of the features that were previously included is $12/month or $70/year! To even ask someone to pay that for an app is absurd. Yes there is a cheaper plan but that is just to be add free and does not unlock the other features.

Used to be great but now they charge.

I have been using Favoreats since it first came out! I was obsessed! It was so easy to find recipes and make a meal plan and the best part, it made a shopping with for you!!! But they changed it so now you have to pay $10 a month to use that service and I’m super disappointed. I understand subscriptions take the company lots of money but I can’t throw another $10 charge into my budget every month. I wish they would just make us buy Favoreats and then make it free!
I would recommend Favoreats called paprika. It’s not as good as Favoreats but it’s a one time charge of $5.

Best meal planning app!

this app makes it so easy to meal plan! As a busy working mom and wife, I need all the help I can get ... especially when it comes to getting creative in the kitchen. I love that I can sync it to my Pinterest boards, edit my grocery list, browse my friends dinner ideas 😝 (i mean who doesn’t like knowing what your friends are cooking this week) and best of all... I can do it all on the go! #winwin

One flaw

This is a great idea that people definitely need but I don’t like that I can’t just put a title of what I’m going to make. Not every single thing I make has a recipe, and it’s not saving me time to try to come up with one. I understand why Favoreats functions this way but in the end it doesn’t save time. Hopefully this small feature can be fixed!

Importing is difficult

Seemed great at first and it is really pretty. But in syncing with Pinterest, only 28 of the 45 recipes I had pinned on a board actually are visible because the rest aren’t In the right format. When I tried to import via web page it said they are not in the right format. The recipe I was trying to upload was from real simple and I use a ton of their recipes so this is not going to work for me. Bummer. Going back to a different meal planner. It’s not nearly as pretty but I have never had a recipe I have been unable to add via the web on my other tool.

Amazing Meal Planning

There are a ton of great recipes in Favoreats already but I love that I can access my Pinterest food boards to pull from too! It is super easy to use and makes meal planning and grocery list making so much easier! I have 2 toddlers and having my grocery list organized and right on my phone is a life saver!

Can only click on certain categories

I follow someone who I can only click on a few of her categories. The rest i will tap and tap on them but it won’t show me the recipes under that category. Also, I liked that you didn’t need to put your email in to set up an account but it wouldn’t let me sign in and you have to have an email to set up a new one. That needs to be fixed. Everything else I love!

I love this App!!

It’s made meal planning and shopping so much easier. Importing recipes is a breeze, and it’s flexible enough to handle my own custom items. The support is exceptional. They are very responsive. I have a hard time spending money on Apps, but I don’t mind it when I get the value. This is definitely worth the money.

Great with a few tweaks

I love Favoreats so far but I would like to be able to edit a collection name if I need to. I also have many recipes that are handwritten and would love the option to upload them as a photo into a collection. Then I don’t have to type every ingredient and direction into the format 🙏🏼
