DelTaco went from bad to worse which is not what an “upgrade” should be. The food customization is cumbersome and tedious now (too many clicks and not intuitively placed), drink size selection in combo meals no longer exists, breakfast cannot be ordered in DelTaco outside of certain hours even though it is available at our location all day…why ask for a location & then not have location specific information available. Awful! All so they can have a rewards program which has far less (and inferior) rewards compared to the previous app. Shame on the restaurant & developers of the “upgraded” app.

DelTaco used to offer decent deals on a regular basis, now they are nearly non-existent. A deal then has to be “saved” first prior to using, then warned you will have a limited time to use it… but doesn’t tell you how much time… 5 mins?? An hour?? A day?? Of course once you commit to saving it, you can’t change your mind… who knows if it will expire before you can actually use it. My god, just let me tap on a deal and use it! Because of this poorly redesigned app, I rarely order from Del Taco anymore. And where is the “Free Coffee Every Day” offer as shown in DelTaco Store photos?? I have never seen that. Ever. Time to go back to the paper coupons in the mail.

Probably the most glaring omission is nutritional data. The Taco Bell app actually calculates your whole meal as you go including the effect of substituting ingredients. If I say no beans extra cheese it subtracts and adds accordingly. Unfortunately the Del Taco app doesn’t even give you the standard recipe nutrition much less detailed control.

Also, as with many fast food apps, the cashiers seem to have a hard time integrating mobile orders into their flow. There’s the now familiar long confused pause, iconic “can’t find your order”, having to be reminded at the window, and attempt to collect your prepaid order twice. Why is this so hard?

Last, my chicken items had several gristly bites which isn’t a prep issue, it would be systemic to their supply chain so I feel it’s a valid critique of the experience. Overall Taco Bell is doing a much better job although it’s a mile farther from home, I’ll probably stick with them for now when I want US quality “Mexican” food.

I just downloaded the latest update (v3.0), and I have lost all access to DelTaco .
It told me that as an existing account holder I needed to update my password in order to gain access to DelTaco . I gave it the email address to send password update instructions to. It said it would send an email to with password reset instructions to that account if the email was registered. I waited for that email for an hour. No email.
So I tried logging in with my existing creds.
It gave me an invalid credentials error.
I’ve been getting Del Taco emails at the account I had them send the password reset unfo to, so I know it’s registered.
I even tried registering for a new account using the same email and I was denied because there’s already an account registered with that password. Yup! That would be me!

Anyone else having this issue?
If so, they just locked out all of their account holders at the risk of losing them all to a restaurant with an app that doesn’t leave them locked out.

Placed an order at 11:15 pm, with a scheduled delivery of 11:45. At midnight I called store and they explained they were very busy and no one had picked up the order yet. Starving, I asked the mgr if I could come pick it up myself. No problem, drove to store to find 15 cars in line. Bc the food was already paid for, I waited. And waited. And waited until an hour and a half later. I got home at 2 am to find my order had been delivered an hour prior. I was never once contacted about it being on the way or delivered. Just showed completed on DelTaco , but when I called the store it still wasn’t picked up. Poor communication. Don’t know who to blame, del taco or door dash but I’ll never use either again. Couldn’t even get a refund, was told contact door dash. So I did. Door dash chat told me to contact del taco and ended the chat. Horrible customer service.

DelTaco is emblematic of what so many companies do now that erodes customer confidence and loyalty. The rewards continue to be watered down, details are overlooked, and most importantly the navigation is poorly thought out. It’s difficult to customize orders. There are too many clicks needed to place an order. Prices are not prominently displayed on the menu items. DelTaco denies breakfast orders when stores serve it all day.

Is the goal of DelTaco to score cool points among a certain demographic? Is it junior employees trying to impress senior management with a new color splash? If the goal is to generate increased sales revenue and customer loyalty DelTaco is working against that. Del Taco would be wise to consider a rebuild of their app with a focus on improving the customer experience, if that’s important to them. 1 star for not putting their customers first.

I have tried ordering through DelTaco and decided to pick up by drive thru because you know COVID and I’m lazy. I ordered 3 different times and every time was horrible!
The firs time I waited 45 more from the time I placed my order to the time I actually got my order, because they couldn’t “find my order”. I don’t remember the reasoning for the second time but I had to just cancel my order and order at the Intercom when I got to the location. The third and last time I ordered a good 30 minutes before I actually picked it up. They said the order was canceled, but the money still was taken out of my account. It was only $7 but still. I am just annoyed. It’s easier to just go through the drive thru and order like we use to. No more of this useless app.

So this is yet another app that used to work well, but has been completely trashed by its developers all to “make things better.” Well, you failed. I’ve had an account for years and now when I open DelTaco it tells me I need to change my password. Okay, whatever. So I enter my email, and never receive a password reset email. I’ve done this on multiple days for the last several days. Still no password reset email. So I decided to try to set up a new account. Nope, that user already exists, please sign in. Well, I can’t. So I try to sign in with Apple, okay, but I'm still waiting for the email to change my password. I’be scoured my junk mail, not there.

DelTaco is now totally and completely useless. Way to go app devs! ✋🏼

Just a note to people if you use the previous apps and prefer a drive-through you cannot redeem any of the offers if your location doesn’t specifically offer drive-through pick up. You have to order ahead on DelTaco to use offers and deals now. The only thing you can do is collect points. I am a 20 year customer and I picked up on DelTaco when they first came out with one. It saved a lot of money but lately due to a lot of quality and accuracy issues with my orders as it is, and my site not offering drive-through ordering for some weird reason but they will allow you to pick it up inside I’m deleting DelTaco for the time being and visiting other places.

Previous app and rewards program was much better. No longer have coupons nor rewards I can use. If you have food allergies or are vegan there are no longer rewards or coupons that work. Staff in stores are frustrated and do not like DelTaco . Scan codes don’t seem to scan so I have to read numbers to them to receive points, which only works part of the time. I sent a complaint to customer service along with several friends and we all receive canned replies. Del Taco appears to no longer care about their customers. After being a devoted Del Taco customer for 40+ years, it is time to move on to better programs and a company that cares and listens to their customers.

This is not an app it is an advertising gimmick. I tried deleting it and downloading it several times but it still doesn’t work. Here’s how the gimmick works. They send you an offer that requires you to go to their app to redeem and DelTaco freezes with some crap about “you will be notified about offers.....” I stood in line the other day and order a tostada only to have DelTaco freeze up. Told them them to forget the whole thing and walked out. I had a great tostada at Taco Bell. I suggest you do the same thing. I can’t believe I’m the only one. If they send me one more offer that doesn’t work, I’m unsubscribing. I suggest you do the same thing. Hasta la vista, Miguel

Just a horrible user interface for ordering. When you click to start an order it shoots you to your previous order history rather than to the menu. Once you are on the menu it is next to impossible to see what offers are available. You have to go all the way back to where you see your order history, and chose a location to order from all over again. Half the items back calorie information. Just a horrible user experience, which is sad because I do enjoy the food.

Every time I click on DelTaco all it does is show the del taco logo and nothing happens. I got several promotional offers by email and could not accept them because of the application not fully functioning. I updated it and still nothing. This time around I just ended up deleting the whole thing and hope it works a this time. This is not an internet issues and I pay for the top tier internet at&t offers; all my thee applications work perfectly but this deal taco app is just sitting there; worthless!

Needless to say I had to delete and then download again and DelTaco is now working. So if you were experiencing the same thing I did then just delete DelTaco and download it again. For the inconvenience it would be nice for del taco to give me a free meal though because I am a faithful customer. I still went to del taco regardless of the application not working, but all the promotional deals were lost.

I used to go to Del Taco every day but the new rewards are incredibly lacking. It was common to see buy one get one offers that you could actually choose from. Now you have to use one offer at a time it seems and save it for use instead of just using it whenever - Then you get another offer which may or may not be good. Can you please bring back the weekly offers to choose from if nothing else? I don’t want coffee - I want food. It takes a long time to build up points that are worth less than the old offers. I have been a much less frequent customer since this started. I used to recommend to friends the $2 off $5 deal when texted but now that seems broken too. The first time I tried to load an offer to my order it didn’t work, the second time it finally did. I lost all of the previous orders from before which was disappointing because I like to pick and choose and DelTaco still lacks Apple Pay or a better way to pay than manually entering card. The redesign looks fine (dark mode would be nice) and things feel like they run a bit smoother but this isn’t what your customers want. I rarely write such a detailed review but I really enjoy the food, being a frequent customer and this has been extremely disappointing.

There’s several food items that Del Taco still makes that are missing from DelTaco ever since the last update. To name a few; Crunchtadas, the 3 Layer Queso Nachos and I’m sure there’s even more, but they stand out the most because they actually advertise them on DelTaco itself.

It’s pretty sad because there is convenience in making your order online. It’s easy to choose what you want and have a decent amount of customization at your fingertips. You even get to choose how you want to get it, whether it be delivery, drive-thru or pickup in the restaurant.

That’s the reason that this review is 2 instead of 1 because it does have the potential to be a good app.

It’s just that when you don’t have all the items there, it pretty much loses the whole purpose of why a fast food app is made; The ability to get the food you want at your own convenience. If some of your favorite food items aren’t there, then what’s the point?

I understand the inconvenience of the virus situation but I work overnights and been to three different store locations and they've all been closed early. If the stores are going to close early I understand and hope everyone is safe but I'd also expect the courtesy, like ALL OTHER stores are graciously and generously doing, and change the hours on your app and Google (I double checked before I ordered!) too to match the stores. I had to cancel two orders because DelTaco said they were open and still allowed me to order! All other fast food chains I've been through have changed their hours.

Navigating DelTaco is pretty easy to do. User interface is pretty good. Reason for the 3 stars is that they don’t have any of their sauces (other than the packets and ketchup) available to order through DelTaco . A lot of the times you’ll get stiffed on the sauces and you end up with a dry meal that doesn’t please the palette. I have no idea why they don’t add this option. The other reason for the 3 stars is the lack of apple pay.

Revision: I heard that phone updates sometimes cause apps to not work properly. I deleted this application then downloaded it again (IPhone 8). DelTaco is now working and I have been able to use my offers again. Thank you!

I have received many offers from DelTaco. I really loved using it until recently. Now, When I click on DelTaco I get a black screen. I drive over 30 minutes to eat at Del Taco and would love to have the great offers DelTaco used to provide. I hope this issue is fixed soon.

I’ve ordered del taco countless times mostly pick up. I’ve always used the doordash app maybe because I’m a full time dasher who knows lol. Well I decided to download DelTaco and order the exact same thing I always do with doordash pick up. Long story short DelTaco saved me $6… are you kidding. 5 stars just for that.

Oh and this is part is for paranoid reviewer who perfers Apple Pay… guess what… Apple Pay stores your credit card info too and it’s a lot more likely for someone to get your info from that than DelTaco. Did I just blow your mind?

DelTaco has worked well for me & my family . After reading all the reviews I can’t understand why people get so frustrated & upset ?
What do they expect? ? ? Nobody’s entitled to anything as well as nobody should feel that they’re owed anything???? People always seem to be very opinionated & judgmental putting all their life’s stress into something like DelTaco when in reality DelTaco is simple there to provide you with extra perks & savings that you might want to use ? I LOVE it whenever I’m able to save $ & or get something for free & this is exactly what DelTaco has always provided me. Thank you Del Taco my visits are pleasing & pleasant along with the friendly staff & quick service at my favorite location in Placentia. 👍✌️

Del Taco is my fav fast food, if only they could make a working app. Couldn’t even sign up before. This time I made it to the Location Permission page before it froze up. Deleted it, grabbed it from the cloud and it froze again on the same page. Seriously, it’s 2019, ALL apps may have a glitch or two, but overall work. Not this one. It’s like somebody hired their ne’er do well brother in law’s son to make their app?? It’s that bad.

DelTaco is the WORST food app on the market. It never works anymore and back when it did you didn’t have access to the “deals” until the cashier scanned your phone... and when you’re in the drive through that doesn’t make sense. What’s also sad is that Del Taco wants to join the world and become tech savvy but DelTaco is garbage and they don’t even take Apple Pay or any other electronic cash free forms of payment. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

DelTaco is useless, I’d rather use paper coupons. There are barely any offers in DelTaco . As of right now I have 3 offers for a free drink with purchase of an Epic Burrito. I am not sure why they would load three identical coupons into DelTaco . The other offer is for fish tacos. The paper coupons offer many more discounts and variety of offers. I feel like they only made DelTaco to glean user’s info and track users. Not a fan at all.

DelTaco is absolutely terrible as it stands now. Everytime I’ve placed an order through DelTaco whether it was pick up or drive thru there is always confusion and people stating they didn’t get an order or some other reason. You pay out of pocket when you place the order and going there expecting a quick pick up and having this unnecessary hassle EVERY time is a huge inconvenience. Fire your developers and hire someone who knows what they’re doing.

I downloaded DelTaco a couple years ago hoping to be able to order online. Online ordering makes it so much easier to customize an order. Unfortunately DelTaco still says “online ordering coming soon!” for all the restaurants in my location. DelTaco may work great in some locations, but here DelTaco has been false advertising for years. Two plus years is NOT “soon”

I asked my closest location about it and was told that DelTaco says that about all locations that don’t have online ordering.

I don’t see the point of DelTaco. I thought it would be like the Starbucks app where you could order plus earn points towards discounts for purchases. But I see no way of scanning in receipts for purchases made at a location or anyway to link purchases to my account. The only way of keeping track is online order purchases which doesn’t make as much sense because they DT drive thru is quick compared to Starbucks so why would I bother.

Anyway I expected this to be a loyalty program app but is only good for online ordering loyalty which isn’t how most people order DT.

I love stopping at Del Taco every morning before work for a ice coffee, but when I’m really hungry I try to use DelTaco to see if there’s any deals I like. The only bad part about that is that every time I try opening DelTaco te screen stays black forever and i have to delete and download DelTaco again. Also the workers always have a hard time to “check in” for more coupons. It would help a lot if they made faster upgrades on DelTaco.

Initially, DelTaco worked fine. Despite being a little awkward to navigate, it was appealing and generally functional. It was nice being able to get specials and discounts. However, it now won't even open just giving me a black screen. Nothing. I have 4 notifications, but can't see them. 😒

Also, not every store accepts in-app ordering, and the ordering process is a bit clumsy. Not clear and it's difficult to find what I'm looking for.

Also, for those of us who choose beyond meat options, assume that most are vegan and don't put the cheese and sour cream on it, or at least offer vegan dairy options or a fair alternative.

I'd give it more stars when it functions properly. 5 stars when I can make minor changes as needed.

Worked fine at first. Then one day it sent me a notification coupon. Wasn’t planning on Del Taco for lunch but it was a buy one get one so I decided wth. Opened DelTaco when I got to the window....complete black screen. No time to delete and download again. Of course the employee didn’t care when I explained. Deleted DelTaco for good and won’t be returning to the establishment.

Ordering on DelTaco is a new great feature but one thing I really don’t like is the fact that after you customize an item the the calorie count is completely lost. Please optimize to include a calorie count after ingredients are included/excluded from item.

Title says it all, if you go here, and don’t like any of the food, that’s a you problem not them problem! Mexican food isn’t for everyone, so how can this have anything less than a 5 star rating !

This Del Taco app is great! I get deals often and I use most of them. It’s a good way to save on one of my go to places to eat. No order ahead in my area yet, but that’s ok since they’re already fast and the deals are great.
