It’s clear Wheels was not designed by people that travel for work. If it was, then it wouldn’t auto log a flight as a 700 mile drive. 🤦♂️
I’ve had to disable the GPS logging. Even when I wasn’t actively logging a trip, Wheels decided to log one anyway, which became obvious when it logged the miles of a recent flight. I recognize that this is a complex task for the developers, but nobody wants another app to baby sit. Fortunately, you can just turn off the GPS access and manually log your trips. And sadly, this is easier and less frustrating than trying to decipher the collective mess of trips Wheels auto logs. I just wish they would make manual trip logging easier… maybe utilize Siri or extend Wheels into Shortcuts, or make a CarPlay app.
Also, do we need to login every time? Face ID is fast, but it just adds another frustrating delay to things. Nothing in Wheels is so secure and sensitive that I should need to authenticate every time I open it. I’m already on my unlocked iPhone, even if someone swiped my unlocked iPhone out of my hands, they’re not going to find anything of value in a trip logging app. Maybe instead of making the whole app secure, they could just make viewing the log history secure?
