The robots got stuck everywhere they go. It takes forever and Starship is not able to give you any sort of accurate time on when your food will be delivered. I had to cancel my order the other day after waiting nearly an hour (despite the original delivery time saying 20 min) and Starship constantly stating my order was only 2 minutes away. Customer service is even worse than the actual robot service. This business will fail dramatically.

It took 4 hours, 4 HOURS, to have my order delivered from the store a mile and a half away. We wanted to try this service out as we saw all the robots on the streets, but we will NEVER use this again. Two items were “substitutes” which I have a hard time believing they were out of my original order. And, yes, I still paid full price for the “substitutes”. The store said they were having “techinal difficulties” which apparently is why it said 90 minutes to deliver when I placed my oder, an hour later it said 59 minutes, than an hour later it said 61 minutes to deliver. This service is NOT worth the increased price on all items and if you get the substitutes, you are still charged the higher price.

I wanted to change my location today, and not only can I not do that, but Starship became unresponsive. After many times of clearing Starship out and trying again, I just decided to delete it and reinstall it. Now, I cannot enter a location and it keeps freezing on me. So glad that they have tech support to help you with this problem (they don’t). Add in many other issues I’ve had with this and I’m just sick of this company in general. I really wish my school had a different delivery service.

I’m patient with new services. And technology. Allowing for kinks to be worked out. 100% of my orders have been charged, but either wrong sizes of items were sent or items were omitted. The order receipt and the to go print out would have conflicting information.
Fortunately, the resolves the first issue which incentivized me to try them again. But after the second issue, one ticket showing I paid for a drink and the other saying not to add a drink to the robot, seems just careless.
I don’t need a third time to know that I’d have better luck walking across campus to get my food done correctly.

This has to be one of the worst apps I have ever had the misfortune of using. Once you set your delivery address at the very start, you better hope that you don’t ever accidentally change it because it is borderline impossible to change the address in this worthless, half-baked app. You can literally go in, search for a delivery area, hit confirm, have it tell you it confirmed the delivery point, back out and voila, it hasn’t change the address at all. Starship is so ridiculously unresponsive using it is akin to pulling teeth.

NAU this app has messed up my order three times this semester. Then they just want to offer you a refund instead of just reordering the food for you. This last messed up order it took 20 minutes just for them to give me a refund and then the place where they messed up my food closed their delivery option and on hop of that it took over an hour to get the wrong order. Making it an inconvenience for me who works on the other side of campus trying to get food before my shift. Don’t waste your time and money!

I love the this app delivery service, the robot is fast and convenient to get my food from.
But Starship itself seems to be less than functional.
I’ve ordered from Starship about 10 times and 9 times out of 10 I’ve had issues with not being able to place my order because of “connection issues to the service” that have me sitting on the checkout screen for at least 20 minutes, while I sit attempting to “snipe” the order button during brief instances of regained connection. Within that time I could simply walk to the place I’m ordering my food from.
My WiFi connection isn’t the problem because every time I have this issue I have full bars and every other app I use functions without such issues.
If this issue wasn’t so prominent I would give Starship 5 stars, but as it stands it’s a 2 for me.

I appreciate the convenience of the robot, but the inventory is lacking. The robot delivers from the same local store that I shop at, but there are not nearly the same options from Starship as I would find in the store. It’s also difficult to search for items you need - especially when Starship has them spelled incorrectly.
Starship is not user friendly. You can add items to your cart at any time, but if the store is closed - you can’t see what you’ve put in the cart or make any changes to it until “open hours”.
Also, I understand supplies are low, but sometimes I feel that the shopper in the store is just too lazy to look for an item and therefore I receive a message that there is “no item”. And then I have no option to choose a different item - just a message telling me I’ll be refunded in a few days.

When the food is actually sent out, its wonderful. However, their estimation times have been continuously delayed and not even close to accurate repeatedly. When I order say a burger, I’m told 30-45 minutes. That’s fine by me, but then at around the 35 minute mark, my then 10 minutes left order jumps to 20. It then repeats thin for another 40 minutes. I’ve ordered it as pickup from places a few times and this is the consistent experience, rush or no. They prioritize you back of the line, always. Its a bit infuriating when you order ahead of time, but your friends who ordered 15 minutes later in person get their food a whole 30 minutes before you.

Starship is okay if you don’t have high expectations and you don’t feel like walking to get food, but I will say that 1 item in my meal is ALWAYS messed up. Starship does not refresh to tell you what the place you’re ordering from does and doesn’t have so you’re left guessing what you’re going to get when the robot shows up at your door or when you go to pick up your food. It is very frustrating and annoying to want one thing and one thing only, but to have that item be replaced with something else without your knowledge.

On iOS the buttons are positioned in such a way that makes navigation difficult. Also, I’ve had a lot of problems getting my payment accepted. You can’t edit an existing card if it expires and sometimes I’ll have the payment rejected multiple times before it suddenly works. Still, having a robot deliver you groceries is awesome.

So, first off, this is a very interesting, cost effective way to grab a few things you need last minute, without having to go out to the grocery store! That’s the “love” part. Now for the “hate” part. You select all of the items that you really need, and they charge you for ALL of those items, and let you know the progress. Still great! THEN, inevitably, they send you a message 20 minutes later saying that they do not have either ALL, or part of your order. UGH! In this day and age, I get that, but you would think that there would be a way for Starship to sync up with the inventory. Especially since they charge you up front, then take 3-5 days to adjust the order amount. Not to mention the disappointment of having to go get the items you needed anyway. So what was the point? If you don’t have what I need, understandable, just don’t allow me to order it and don’t charge me for it. So all in all, IF, you can get what you actually ordered, it’s awesome!

Easy to use, but some places don't have their menus set up very well (some may have missing or incorrect customization options).
Customer support is amazing and you can easily get a refund if your order is wrong/missing or if theres an issue with the robot. Every time I've needed to use instant chat, I got quick responses and my issues were always resolved.

This is incredible technology! The robot arrived within the delivery window. It's secure because the robot is locked until you unlock it with Starship .
The individual item prices are higher in this app compared to the store's other channels though.

I am so glad I decided to try this out! I live in a townhouse and it was able to navigate right to my door. No easy task as the UPS drivers often have difficulty. The food was hot and arrived exactly on time. The robot was more polite than many delivery drivers. The entire process was so much fun and super easy. I highly recommend this and look forward to using it again very soon!

I found Starship very intuitive. It took me 5-7 minutes from start to finish with a loaded cart of groceries and payment submitted. My husband tried it out first, and I got hooked! Setting up payment was less than 10 seconds. Overall, the tool is super convenient. I only wish it could deliver more than 20 groceries at a time. Regardless, I love it! This is SUCH an incredible service, especially during these times. We expected to order ahead to allow for the commute, especially for busy hours where limited bots are available but our delivery was still within 45minutes requested. Grateful to the businesses and technology making this happen. Our kiddo is so delighted waiting eagerly each chance to spot these bots on the go delivering deliciousness. Such a trip!
by PeterDeNatale
There are many reviews about long delivery times or food arriving cold, but I’m guessing most of those occur during peak hours. Every time I’ve ordered from the robots, my order arrives in under 45 minutes and the right temperature as well! There are certainly improvements to be made, but I think they’re headed in the right direction and making lots of people’s lives a lot easier right now. It is painful to walk to get food in the cold or while I’m busy studying which is why the robots are very helpful!
by Moonstars96
Had a few hiccups, order canceled 2x after 15min of placing the order. Had to delete and reinstall Starship and then it all worked beautifully. The only thing is that it didn’t take the Idaho3 discount but everything else great
by Itsybob
Honestly hasn’t been flawless, but it’s brand new to our neighborhood store, so still just working out the kinks. In the meantime I got a few groceries delivered with a little Bruno mars to make the experience even more fun. R2-D2 beware! The little this app bot is cute AND brings me treats!

Honestly, the idea of this sounds really cool and all, but I can’t even use Starship when every ten seconds it freezes then crashes. I saw you put out an update that would “fix” that, but it clearly didn’t work for my phone. My phone is just a iPhone 6, but surely it should work on that?
by Lexi&$&
This is so awesome I really wanted to try it.. but there’s none anywhere close to me, please update it to a location in Orange County CA!! Besides, whatre you even doing in those states.. California is the best for business and they have the most stoners and fatties, you’d seriously get much more business if not twice the amount you’re getting now if you set a location in CA
by Sadcuznorobtots
I was so excited to try using one of these, as I’ve seen them rolling about all over my campus. However, even though they say “we deliver to (my area name)” Starship says that they don’t. So sad and disappointed
by Minecraft Ownage
I get stuck at two points on Starship depending on what I click. If I allow Starship to use my location, it basically loads forever on that page. If I click "not now," it moves on till I have to select my neighborhood. When I click "GMU," it loads forever and gets stuck on that page again.
Very disappointing, as I was looking forward to using Starship.
by Loraleijade
Starship still crashes every time I open it, no matter what time of day. It’s getting to be really frustrating when I used to be really excited about the robots. Unfortunate
by Endeverafter
Can’t use app for more than 5 minutes before crashing, always during the payment process
by Wolfsister_
Now that they only deliver to places near by, there is literally no point in having the robots or Starship. The point of the robots was to deliver food wherever on campus, now that that’s changed, our student money is being wasted on this.
by SmileyRhyleigh
Starship would be awesome if it didn’t freeze and crash so often.
by AJ122707
I think Starship is AWESOME. But I’ve never been able to try it because there are limited pickup areas. Please expand!!
by MYtaterSKIN
Would be nice if you could comment on your order to ask them to make it crispy etc. and other preferences, I wouldn’t mind a dollar or two extra to add it.

Just needs a bigger selection of restaurants.

My first day back I got cut off and brake checked while walking by one of these guys and honestly he was so cute that I wasn’t even mad. Plus I ordered a pizza the next day in 14°F weather and the pizza was warm when it arrived. Very nice.

What a lil funky man 😎 shout out to my man Ivan who trained the robots, he’s the real champ here

These little guys are so cute!!! We tried ordering something from them for the first time today and had the food within 10 minutes! Excellent app and easy to use :) Have I mentioned how cute these things are?!?!

this app is new to the UTD campus and already delivers food flawlessly! Comets loves Tobor!
My starship was supposed to take 10-15 mins. However, I waited an hour and a half for an order of Taco Bell that was 10 minutes from where my dorm is. Also when I received my order, the drink was wrong and my quesadillas were not warm or cheesy. Overall, the food was shit. Don’t get starship as it is terrible.
This is still a fledgling business in the UK and has many issues to iron out. Using two separate despatch points on different evenings, stated delivery times aren't just missed but are frankly misleading. Based on my experience, you are lucky to see a robot delivery in much less than 3 to 4 times the stated time, causing much disappointment. Apologies and token free delivery codes are offered but that doesn't resolve the issue. Stated delivery times at point of order must be made accurate and realistic, giving customers the choice to go elsewhere. At one point, a 7pm order which stated 72mins was still awaiting despatch at 9:30 pm. Basically, an over-subscribed, under-resourced gimmick. Great idea. Technical marvel. Grossly ineffective and doesn't deliver its stated purpose.
