BEST Task App & AMAZING PRIVACY POLICY

If I could only have one app this would be it!!!!
I have used gTasks for 6 years and to this day it’s still my favorite. Being a productivity snob no other app has come close to its perks in reoccurring tasks, google sync, and privacy. Most apps now days collect so much data. I love that I can count on gTasks and it’s producer to respect privacy while giving so much value in features!! Thanks for providing us this product with no strings attached to our data, you rock!!

✨As for top features:
-Sub-tasks for project management
-Reoccurring task great for bill pay & other chores
-Sort by priority, due date, day, or see everything
-Create as many task lists as you please
-Can have due dates, reminders, location alerts and notes in each task
-Link to google calendar to see events
(they show as tasks)
-Have as many google accounts attached as you need so you can toggle from personal to work keeping tasks separate, organized, and streamlined in the same app.
-Have on all devices watch, phone, tablet, and computer as gTasks or work straight through google.
-They only keep making it better as I’ve experienced over the years definitely an app to invest in for the long game.

Down side:
-Apple Watch App is hard to use and bugs out at times however I have now doubts it will get resolved & improved.

I'm happy.

This works great for my needs. I was using another very popular task management app until I got an Apple Watch and discovered gTasks doesn't work on the watch. I proceeded to try several other apps, one of which wasn't intuitive at all, one of them didn't offer manual re-ordering of tasks (wth?), and many that required a subscription (I don't mind paying up front, but I need another subscription like I need my car to be firebombed.). This one checks all the boxes for me: straightforward and simple but robust enough, calendar integration, the right task-repeating features, and of course Apple Watch integration. All I want now is a complication and it will be perfect.

Haven’t seen better

gTasks itself is a very good one once you get it set up; although mobile and desktop to apple desktop don’t sync on set ups and at that point you aren’t familiar with gTasks to know what you are doing as far as customizing. I agree with other reviews on poor customer service. I sent in questions 2 weeks ago and haven’t gotten a reply. Also can’t find the Windows desktop version for gTasks to purchase either. And, you have to purchase in 3 places if you use mobile and both types of desktops. Also, don’t be fooled by thinking this is a Google product as it’s not. There’s not a better list with the functionality and sharing abilities gTasks has. In addition to having multiple lists. Would be nice to export into pdf or MSOffice or Google Drive format. You can print though. Lots of sorting and organizing features. Doesn’t provide its abilities anywhere so it’s trial and error.

Poor customer service

I recently purchased the full version of gTasks with the thinking it would sync w/ gTasks on my Windows 10 laptop. I felt it would be better than the Outlook interface with gTasks . It did for a few days then stopped demanding that I purchase the full version on Microsoft store. I reached out to the customer service thru app on my iPhone asking why I would have to purchase it a second time. I got an email back saying my message had been received and someone would get back to me. After more than a week no one got back to me. I sent another email saying I was shocked that no one had responded. Now more than a month later still nothing. I will be calling Apple today to request a refund. I refuse to do business w/ any developer who cannot be bothered to answer a question. I would not recommend this as a tool for business to sync across multiple devices especially when there is clearly no customer support!

Used to be really good, constantly loses sync now without any indication

This used to be very reliable and indispensable for me.

Unfortunately, I’m constantly finding that gTasks on my phone is out of date lately, and it’s only because I realize items I checked off elsewhere haven’t propagated to my iOS device. When I go to check on the account sign-in, I see a message indicating “Last connection failed!” - but you’d never know this until you go to that setting. gTasks should let you know at some point if the connection has failed. I keep having to re-sign in to my Google account. Sync appears to be completely broken at the moment.

Another issue (possibly related to this one): when it does re-sync after logging in, many items get duplicated, resulting in a huge mess. Looking for another solution...

Very good

The design and layout is intuitive and is pleasing to the eye. The entry method is great and I can quickly add new items to a list or finish the list because of the way the dev designed the keyboard input. When you add an item the keyboard has a next button in place of the rerun button, just push that and it adds that item to your current list and automatically has a new item entry started so you can just type a new item without doing anything else. If you do not want to add a new item and want to finish adding things to that list just hit the done button on the keyboard and you are done. It's a really great system.

Beats the competition!

I am a big believer in to-do apps. I used Errands for a couple years, but was a little too basic. Then used Todoist for the past year, but they had technical issues that they failed to fix for months, that caused me to start my search again. gTasks is everything I wanted. Syncs w/ my ipad, my calendar items are there, and I can print it! Very organized & easy to use. My only wish is it had a calendar view when picking the date w/out an alarm, can never figure what day of the week it is, but the positives out way that one tiny thing ten fold. Highly recommend!

Dishonest developer

When I got the receipt from apple from renewing the paid subscription for gTasks I discovered that I had been charged an additional $3 in addition to the $6 that the original subscription cost. This developer clearly lacks basic ethics as far as honoring the stated cost of the subscription and happily adds in hidden costs. When I contacted apple support to fix the problem they were reluctant to do anything and said that maybe they would do the right thing in 48 hours. Based on the response, i would never buy anything from this developer and am reluctant to ever pay for an app on the apple store.

Update: The apple store has corrected the problem. Personally, I will never pay for another app from this developer. With the apple response, I can at least try more pay apps.

GTasks Is Wonderful!

I have used gTasks for three days now, and I learned quickly to make sure that when I sync to my G tasks on my Google calendar that I put everything into the default task list. Otherwise, you will have two different lists with the same name. I didn’t have that many tasks in the list so I just simply re-copied them to the default and deleted the one on my phone. It automatically created the sync list to the phone so that I only have one on the computer and one on the phone. So far it works great.

Finally a easy and great ToDo list app

I kid you not I have been searching for over two years for a ToDo list app. This one is incredible. The sub-task ability makes my life so much easy to plan what I need to do. I made a Header “Calls to Make” and then I list all with whom I need to call as “sub tasks” - reminder system great. And what is terrific also is I can suppress “completed tasks” easily. And should I wish to see them, it’s just one click and there they are.

Use gTasks if you want to take control of personal things, business items, and then other Must Dos.

Would be great- IF it would sync... or OPEN.

UPDATE: Dropped to 1 star.
While the following inability to sync was is bad enough - now I can’t even open the desktop app (I have since deleted the useless mobile version). It opens- but as soon as I click anywhere on it, it crashes and closes.
I’ve contacted support about these issues multiple times and have never had a single response.

Previous Review (2 stars, at the time):
I pay for both the mobile and desktop apps- I love the desktop app- it’s simple with enough features to serve the purpose.
However- I can only use it on my desktop OR phone- bc no matter what I do- they don’t sync.
How is it- that going into my 3rd year using this software, that it doesn’t sync- despite it being the first feature you advertise?!
and never get a response, beyond the automated “we will be in touch soon” email.
I’d just find another program if it didn’t mean starting all over- so I’m limited to using the program on the computer alone- and hoping they fix this simple issue at some point before another 3 years passes.
I’ve only assigned 2 stars bc gTasks itself is decent. Just useless if you need it to sync.

Couple major bugs

First bug I found: when on the mail Lists page and need to check accounts (or in my case, add a second), there is no back button unless you got Edit and then back out of the edit function. Then, the settings gear moves to the middle of the header and Accounts shows up. Also, edge swiping did not bring accounts up. But a good suggestion.

Secondly, when actually in the Accounts page, the big plus button (on the Lists page actually as a list/note/etc.) is broken. It presses and depresses but does not have a link to do anything. It's just a pretty blue button.

More than one star because it looks like it'll be good, just need to be able to add more than one Google account.

Issues solved - thank you

Great app. I believe issues with iPhone 6 on IOS 12 with the this app is fixed. Thank you for getting that done. I enjoy gTasks and use it daily.

Previous post...
I have used gTasks for a few years and use it as my main task list, its really been great. That is until yesterday. gTasks attempts to open and closes after 2 seconds. I have looked to see if there are updates I am missing and that’s not it. I use an iPhone 6. Again I really enjoy this this app App, that is if it will just work again. Please fix!

Best organizer and reminders

I use it to set goals, break down into steps and keep on track.
I set it and forget it, knowing it will wake me up when I need it.
One issue is that I have it on iPadPro and iPhone and about once or twice a year, it stops sync’ing tasks and it doesn’t fix itself. I end up deleting app on one device and resync. This is time consuming and frustrating. I know that it is likely a google task issue at the root cause of the problem, so I give this app 5 stars!

Best tasking app I have tried!

Best tasking app to date for both my iPhone & my Apple Watch. It allows easy separation of tasks and lists with due date and time options. It syncs to my reminders, calendar, and entire life. It’s kept my work life on task, my personal life on task, and has been a wonderful tool for my Christmas lists!! I’ve tried and deleted 3 other “top rated” apps that do the same thing but they aren’t nearly as user friendly and efficient as gTask. I wish I would have known about gTasks sooner!

Very nice app

I like this very much. I like the fact that it is free and is not loaded with commercials. I do wish that when you selected an item to check off that it did not disappear so fast. Sometimes my finger may inadvertently touch an item and it is gone before I can realize what I have done. It would be nicer if it checked the item and then allowed me to refresh the screen before submitting the completed task. This way I would have time to uncheck an item if I wanted to.

Good

I use google calendar to post tasks and keep a reminder on them. I tried to use google tasks but it always throws off the notifications for tasks. I use gTasks to mainly summarize my tasks, which it does nicely. Would like to somehow figure out if this can update in the background to keep the badges updated if new tasks are added or old ones removed. Currently I have to open gTasks and refresh.

Love The Subsection Feature

I set out in 2021 with years of previous experience attempting to set goals with detailed plans and to my dismay, easy to edit formatting wasn’t available on my scratch paper. gTasks has provided me the opportunity to edit, add to, & organized a nice detailed plan for my goals. I love the urgency option and how I can check off my tasks. I will be recommending this to the people in my life.

Absolutely love!

Thank you sooooo much! I had been looking for a great task management tool for really long time. Finally I found this one. With this, I don't even have to keep my other task management apps (like wish list; grocery shopping list etc) and the overall app is super easy to use. Now I've been using this for almost 2 years and couldn't find a flaw. The other rain app by the same developer is great too! Many thanks!

Fantastic app but a bit pricey

It astounds me that no one else has developed an app that comes close to this effectiveness with such simplicity. Perfect balance. Please have more sales though because the price for the full version app is a bit high especially in this day when developers disappear and when the next IOS update happens your app is gone. Know others that have put off buying the full app because of price.

I fixed the syncing!!!

After trying everything under the sun to fix the syncing, I finally deleted all 5 devices and reinstalled all 5. All are now almost perfect. Priorities, alerts, and notes sync perfectly. Only the sequence in manual mode doesn't sync. Only caveat is that I haven't fully tested the desktop version and also if you change too many items too quickly between devices it may go haywire. I was playing around, over-challenging the system and everything got messed up and I had to reinstall gTasks for all devices. Everything has been fine for a week now and I have heavily used gTasks . Too bad the developer didn't help out by giving us this type of advice.

Google task Sync partially fixed

It pains me to give a less than a 5-star review since I’ve been using this app seamlessly for years and historically it’s been the best integration with both google tasks and calendar.

But the two way sync with Google tasks has been broken and although an update two days ago says the issue is fixed, it is not fully fixed. I suspect this may be as much a Google problem as a this app problem. When I add a repeating task from this app it shows up on the task list in Google but not on the calendar.

When I move the date of a task in the Google calendar, it shows as original date in this app.

When I clear a repeating task in Google it doesn’t show up in the task list or this app until the repeat date.

When I create a task in Google and mark it complete in this app it clears in this app but shows as incomplete in Google.

I’ve been trying replacement apps for days but can’t find one that works the way this app used to. Please fix this or work with Google to restore functionality!
