There is a lot that can go wrong with an app like this, but the developers did a really good job. The QR scan works very quickly and often finishes the scan before I even have time to center and straighten my phone. The payment also works pretty much instantly. The user interface is simple and intuitive and allowing the user to pre-load funds makes the whole process very straightforward. My apartment recently started using this system for the laundry machines and it’s far better than having to pay with quarters. Definitely recommend.

The concept is there which is great. Makes things very convenient. There is a charge of roughly .35 cents to reload money ever time but I can get over it since gas stations do the same when you pay with debit/credit cards. My biggest annoyance is that at times my machines ask for $2.25 for a wash, and ShinePay only transfers $2, making me have to do the payment a second time to cover the extra 25 cents remaining. The issue is I now paid $4 instead of $2.25 because ShinePay doesn’t recognize that the machine is asking for a amount other than the $2. It’s annoying and a rip off, because I send a request for a refund and I’m not sure I’ve gotten it ever before. So, for an app that’s supposed to make you not need quarters, if I don’t have quarters at hand I’m just going to over pay for services. Also, when these machines were installed, the prices to wash and dry increased over 30%. Also not cool. Like I said great concept, but it fails to deliver. I want my refund ppl.

So ShinePay and/or the machine (1 of 4) never worked in the 8 months we had it. They claimed to have come out and said they fixed it and it was never fixed. It’s a small 8 until apartment building and no one was ever able to get it to work.
Another time I had a machine say it was on and took the money but machine didn’t ever start. 2 times this happened. I emailed for a refund and no one has gotten back to me. That was in October and it’s now End of February. The haven’t emailed to even say that aren’t refunding me. Whether it be the machines or ShinePay it’s never properly worked and before we had working machines.
Now I don’t want to use ShinePay and I have money still on my account I can’t get off.
Plus the convenience fee for every time you want to put money on! Oh and if you don’t have WiFi in your laundry room bc it’s in a garage...forget it! It won’t work.

I downloaded ShinePay today when I saw the laundromat used this. I have another brand for here at my apartments but I needed to do my wash at the laundromat today. It’s easy to use, the scan feature works really well—you don’t need to center it or have it precisely in the box when scanning which made it really easy to use. Just add your card, and pick from many options of time for the washer and dryer. You can add increments of time—The one for my apartments don’t have that feature and I really liked that. Overall a good app for laundry day!!!

I went down to my laundry room in my unit to do a load before work. I washed without an issue, ShinePay is very convenient and user friendly. When I switched over to dry, the dryer didn’t accept the funds from ShinePay , and I tried using processing several times. I logged out and logged back in, that solved the glitch and I was able to start the dryer. I emailed their customer service address with the issue I had with the dryer, the responded immediately! They asked for a bit more information and gave me a refund for the funds that didn’t work! Great app and amazing customer service.

The best thing about ShinePay is that it doesn’t need WiFi to work, just your cellphone. Also most of the times the machines were broken before was because people vandalized the coin boxes trying to steal the money and that happened all the time. Since the this app app was installed in the laundry, the machines haven’t been down once in 2 years. They do charge a fee, but I don’t have to make a trip to the bank to get quarters, and I don’t run out of quarters half way through doing my laundry. The fee is minimal.

The days of sneaking into a laundry mat to purchase quarters or rushing to the bank are over. The days to asking a neighbor if they have a quarter for two dimes and a nickel because I almost have enough for a load are over. Now I can click an app on my phone and BOOM! Done! I love shine pay! I get notifications every time I use it which makes me more comfortable. Shine pay is legit and makes my laundry life easier. Here’s to one day having my own washer and dryer! Until then, this app will get me through!

Compared to other apps I’ve used this is complete garbage. There is no option for quarter amounts. My washers on light cost 1.75$. If you bump it up to medium it takes 2$ and heavy takes 2.25$. It takes 1.75$ to start the machine and if I’m doing heavier loads, unless I have quarters at hand, you literally have to put another 1.75$ just to make up the extra quarter or two. What is the point of ShinePay if I can’t put quarter amounts? There is also no indication of time remaining on a specific washer or dryer or notifications to let you know the machine is done. It gets 2 starts just because it’s easy to navigate through. My advice is bring quarters unless you want to pay extra for no reason.

It’s got a few bugs/weird things, like the cancel button being in the same place as the home “button” area swipe zone, and oops spelt wrong, but it works.

Now, I assume this uses Bluetooth LE, maybe WiFi? But based on that, I feel like you guys could make an Apple Watch app, and this would be so much more convenient. Have a keypad pop up that you could enter the machine info(since the QR codes at my laundry don’t work anyways). I use my AW to set laundry timers already, having this on there would be a complete package.

The answer is no. this app has worked effortlessly to do laundry (without the ancient usage of coins) RIGHT!! They have troubleshooted their product over & over again and continue to do so. Even if the product or situation isn’t right the first time, you bet it’ll be the second, because the creators of this app are robot-like super humans! All of my accolades go out to them. Ditch your coins. And tell your apartment buildings & local laundromats to get their businesses connected with this app! They are only missing out...really, truly.

I have sadly experienced many issues with the machine. I don’t blame ShinePay for the issues I experienced but I do find it bothersome that when I request a refund on a me gone that didn’t work ShinePay doesn’t follow through with it. I have had many issues with the machines and have never been refunded back for any of those issues. Disappointed in this. Additionally, when writing comments on what went wrong, be sure to type everything write because the phone will not auto correct any spelling mistakes, spaces, etc.

Great app it’s easy to use. With the exception of not having any instructions at first i Found it difficult to understand what to do like where to add your info & how to load money if it had just a little wording like load funds here or Star here or some thing that would’ve been extremely helpful. Instead it has the tool box and a plus sign but other than that a snap to use

Overall, I like ShinePay. It is easy to use and I rarely have any issues with it. However, I dislike that I get an email for every transaction in ShinePay . If I wash and dry 3 loads of laundry, I get 6 email notifications. Since there is a transaction history inside ShinePay , the extra email notifications seem redundant and unnecessary. I looked for a way to turn off these notifications and didn’t find one. It would be great to have an option to turn off email notifications.

If you have a cellular connection at your laundry machines, and your machines are outfitted with this app, then ShinePay works great.

It would be helpful if ShinePay automatically configured the options on the machine, and notified me when the machine is finished. The version I’m using now only transfers payment. I have to set options on the machine itself, and then press the Start button on the machine to begin. Then I have to set a timer to remind me to go check if the machine is finished.

So I was at a laundromat that’s used ShinePay exclusively. I am on an iPhone 12 and downloaded ShinePay ...again. It’s been about a year since I used it last. It was fine then. However this time I fought with ShinePay as the keyboard is covering the log on button. I somehow got logged on and added money to ShinePay . Used it to start my wash. Now I can’t access ShinePay again use the remainder of $ or even see how much $ is left on it. I just wanted to dry my clothing. Until they fix ShinePay to work correctly on the log on screen with the new version of apple software ShinePay is useless. We tried it on the IPhone SE as well. It didn’t work there either.

Usually ShinePay works great, and it’s made the process of doing laundry so much simpler. Since the most recent update, though (just installed), I can’t get ShinePay to open at all. It stays frozen on the sign-in screen. I’d appreciate it if you could look into this. Thank you!!
UPDATE: Tech support was extremely fast and helpful. They are working on a new version right now.

I enjoy ShinePay cause I can just scan and go! It’s pretty seamless after the initial set up period. My fiancé and I have been using ShinePay at our apartment for quite some time, and it’s saved us the hassle of buying quarters over and over. I can transfer the exact amount I need as well into ShinePay ! So far so good, and I’d definitely recommend ShinePay! Keep up the good work shine pay!

This is an easy efficient way to get your laundry done! I appreciate the added feature that lets you know your cash balance. Only drawback was the enter all your info first before laundry selection. Make sure your phone is charged on a high percentage or the money transfer has a delay or you have to charge and go back to the machine.

At first I thought that using an app to start my washing machine would be super bothersome and tedious, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it very fast and convenient.
You can transfer money into your account in advance which is convenient. When it’s time to do a load, scanning the machine and starting takes less than five seconds

If you’re like me (and don’t own your own washer/dryer), the idea of doing laundry fills you with dread. Will it be in use? Do I have enough coins? Do I need to go to the bank?, etc etc... this app eliminates so much of my laundry anxiety. Now i just pop in to see if the machines is free. If so, I’m ready to go with no money worries to slow me down. 10/10 would recommend.

I love the convenience of this app. The only thing I can say and it’s really not a negative but just something that I’ve noticed from other services like this is that on your phone it would tell you when the machines were done and this app does not but other than that I love it

I have only used ShinePay a couple times but so far it has been effortless and so much better than coins. Easy to load money right from my bank and starting the machine right from my phone. Really awesome so far!!

There should be a way for me to transfer funds without a convenience fee, like through PayPal or something (that’s what I’ve done with another laundry app). Or at least charge only for credit card, not debit card/bank account, like Venmo. The bank was closed today and I got ShinePay so I don’t have to get quarters doing laundry, but if I’m getting charged each “deposit” I make I might as well get quarters and save money in the long run.

Works great. Innovative and timely during the Great Quarter Drought or maybe “quartertine”. But our apartment complex. Has machines in the garage and my AT&T is often “no service” there. So I have to go halfway upstairs to get reception and hope it doesn’t disconnect when I go back down. I have made it work twice, still...it is a hassle.

When I had hard time using ShinePay , customer service team refund my money right away and once I started using regularly, I cannot think of the way to use our laundry without it. It is so convenient!

Was a little nervous at first but eliminating going to the bank for rolls of quarters or running out of them when you’ve got a final load, is now a thing of the past! Easy, convenient and essentially hassle free!! ShinePay is easy to download and easy to use!!
