Didn’t work. Scam!

In the new update I can only get my money on payday which means I can’t use it before that. This is extremely annoying but the old version was great. Now it is annoying!!!

The kid lesson content is blocked for parents, and there’s a stupid message saying to use your kid’s phone if you want to see it.

So as a parent you are not allowed to review content displayed to a kid before deciding to create an account for them and exposing them to it? Stupid product choice.

So I had to add my spouse’s phone as a kid first to actually review the content before adding our kids. Then I deleted the fake “kid” account from my parent account. I also deleted the fake “kid” account from his phone. When adding him back as a parent it took forever for his phone to stop going in a continuous loop of prompting login/registration because of the account deletion.

In hindsight I probably should have created a throwaway email to review the content instead of using phone number, but why did I have to do that to begin with? Dumbest decision ever to go out of your way to prevent parental review of content meant for kids.

Every single week, my daughters reoccurring chores do not show up. I’ve emailed twice about this and nothing is corrected. Because, I’ve spent a good chunk of my time recreating the chores weekly, because Gimi does not work correctly, I would not recommend. That single flaw, renders the entire app useless.

What is the workaround for if your child doesn't have a phone of their own? Gimi says 4 and up but surely you aren't expecting 4 year olds to have phones?!

Great app for tracking money earned for chores, interest accrual, and kids’ responsibilities. However weekly chores that I spend 10 minutes creating are deleted after payday. I can’t waste spending 20 minutes each week to create chores over and over for two kids. PLEASE KEEP RECURRING CHORES IN THE CHILD’S CHORE LIST!

Also, there needs to be a batch approval option. Approving each chore one by one isn’t efficient. When each chore is approved Gimi gives me. Notification that I just approved the chore - even though it is already removed from the list of chores to approve. This becomes tedious and annoying.

Not the most intuitive of apps to use. Also, you can’t make a mistake. Accidentally approved a chore and cannot undo that or the money that was added to the piggy bank because of that mistake. I really want to like this because I love the concept for my kids. Just make it more user-friendly.

Nice app but chores that you schedule to be done daily will disappear after one week and you’ll need to keep creating the same chore task. Very tedious and irritating. If the issues are fixed, it’ll easily be a 5 star app

I’ve been looking for an app to help teach my kids about money and work. I was so excited about Gimi. Setup was fairly easy, features were just what I was looking for. Once setup was complete however, everything went south quickly. Child couldn’t complete chores. Days are 1 day ahead, so if you schedule a chore for Tuesday, it places it on Wednesday and then displays the following days chores under the “todays chores” section. It’s totally bizarre and unusable. Once these bugs are fixed it’s a solid 4 Star app.

This is a great app.

My only issue is the disappointment that a child can only connect to one of the two parents.

Looking forward to the family experience that will allow both parents to monitor the same child and the child, connected to both parents.

Gimi does exactly what it says it will, it even let's kids select physical product goals. It would be nice if they could somehow incorporate the option to use real money, such as having the parent connect with a bank account and this app would pay out in the form of a prepaid debit card or Amazon egiftcard. Still pretty cool though!

Great app. Has helped me learn to save my money until I have enough to buy what I really want instead of buying something every time I have money. Had a little bit of difficulty with chores at first but eventually got them to work out. I recommend this to parents looking for a easy way to do chores without having to worry about payday and all that.
