GroomTribeStylingandShaving harasses you repeatedly to give Philips personal information about you so they can sell your data. Why on earth would an electric shaver need to track your location? It helps companies Adobe and Google build a profile of who you are, where you go, what you do, and when. The shave feedback is useless. It measures how much of the time the shaver thinks you were moving in a circular motion and if it’s 59% or lower it tells you’re doing a bad job. It’s an arbitrary number that has nothing to do with the quality of your shave… but it’s there to gaslight you so you’ll think you need their tracking app to teach you. Download it once, give them zero personal data, then go to settings and turn off the shaving feedback feature so the shaver will stop showing you the useless feedback icon. Then delete GroomTribeStylingandShaving and leave Philips a 1-star review. As long as they think consumers believe this nonsense, they’ll keep pushing it and selling us out.

This is a pretty good app, but even though I registered the shaver for the extended warranty using the photo card in the box, GroomTribeStylingandShaving keeps bugging me to register. And then when I try, it guesses the model wrong (7940 instead of the 7783 I have), even though GroomTribeStylingandShaving knows it’s a 7783. Doing a search, it can’t find the 7783.

GroomTribeStylingandShaving works pretty good, it just needs some work.

I’ve given GroomTribeStylingandShaving access to my camera and tested my camera out to make sure that it is working and yet whenever I try on a beard, it’s just a black screen. The other features on GroomTribeStylingandShaving are nice which is why i’ve given it 3 stars but i’m extremely disappointed that I cannot try on other beards.

I am legally blind and use a screen reader. Some of the controls on GroomTribeStylingandShaving aren’t even labeled. I was able to pair the shaver, but my model isn’t even listed so that was a dead end, too. The page with the Videos is also useless, as it keeps popping the screen reader up to the top of the page. I couldn’t access any of the videos. I realize this only affects a small percentage of your user base but it’s very disappointing.

Are you kidding me with GroomTribeStylingandShaving??? I’m using an iPhone 13 pro and so far the camera is completely cocked at the wrong angle so I cannot see myself while holding the phone any which way. Half of the screens within GroomTribeStylingandShaving aren’t formatted properly so it’s like looking at a desktop version of a website in your phone. Please do better Philips, I just blew $249 on you dang shaver the least you can do is have a functional app!!!!!

It ALWAYS says shave smaller circles and I can never get it to do it properly. It always says I am shaving wrong which makes me upset and feel like I’m stupid.


It would be good but it can’t sense proper movement. It will never go green and say I do it right. The shaver works fine, so I don’t need GroomTribeStylingandShaving but I really did try to give it a chance.

Impressive yet simple. Very user friendly and helpful. Results are great!

Very annoying. Continually tells me to register my product. I registered it weeks ago. After a couple of weeks it would only go to a page that demanded that I sign up with a 9 character password and agree to receive crap from Phillips and let them use my data.

GroomTribeStylingandShaving was working fine but all of a sudden it says my phone is jailbroken and will not work. My phone is not jailbroken so I’m not sure what happened with GroomTribeStylingandShaving . Pretty frustrating.

Went to use app received a message saying that this phone appears to be jailbroken and that I can use app. I bought phone straight from the apple store and I have never jail broke my phone. All other app including Phillips other grooming apps work fine

The application is overloaded with blocks of useless information and promotions. Most importantly, connection to the device worked only once and I could never connect to my shaver ever again.

Product registration page can't find my Shaver 7700. How do I know if I got the extended warranty for the actual product I bought? Not sure how GroomTribeStylingandShaving is going to help but I downloaded just for the warranty.

Let’s you use GroomTribeStylingandShaving for a few weeks without creating an account but then hits you with an impassable nag screen. Lame.

I just bought a Philips Norelco shaver 7100 and tried to use GroomTribeStylingandShaving with it but I’m unable to use it as its saying my phone is jailbroken, but it’s not.

I opted out of commercial messages and it doesn't work.

This is absurd and insulting to customers.

I’m wondering if Norelco reads the reviews regarding and feedbacks, Norelco is designing something that unnecessarily complicated instead of being easier to use. It’s S9000 has the worse side burner trimmer has ever been design by norelco, the head blade is bigger than older 9000 series harder to get to the spot to make the perfect shave, GroomTribeStylingandShaving it just tells you that you’re shaving bad and what is it useful for God knows it doesn’t tell you when was shaver last fully charged to figure out for how long the battery charge lasts, I still have my 1290x with old head blade still is smoother and shave better than this one. I hope one day Norelco starts listening to the customers feedback and listening to their reviews.

I get that an app for a grooming product will have suggestions for purchasing more product. But, when the advice seems centered on using the product less, it’s time to stop drinking the Kool-Aide. It literally suggests shaving less with their product to avoid irritating your skin and the style section is a lot about what beard you should grow - actual clean-shaven is oddly absent. And the guided shave is a joke: “Use smaller circles” is its only advice, but its rating of your shave doesn’t correlate with how big your move the shaver and it doesn’t tell you what the shaver is actually measuring to give you feedback. On the plus side, GroomTribeStylingandShaving is just as mediocre as the shave, so that’s consistent.

GroomTribeStylingandShaving is pretty good but when it comes to keeping track of how many clean cycles you used on your clean pods, it doesn’t keep accurate count. There cleaning pod I’m using know jumped from 28 cycles left to 26 left after I used it next. The very next time it jumped down to 23 cleaning cycles left before changing the pod out. It seems that they want you to buy more pods before you get full use. That’s my observation.

GroomTribeStylingandShaving doesn’t work. It give no feedback other than shaving time. No feedback on pressure or technique. All GroomTribeStylingandShaving says is “Not Shaving” while the timer shows shaving time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled GroomTribeStylingandShaving . Paired, unpaired and repaired the shaver and still no feedback. The shaver itself works great, but I paid the extra money to give me the feedback that GroomTribeStylingandShaving won’t give. Disappointed.

Five star product that provides world class service!

The dumbest app I’ve ever been forced to install and it doesn’t let me do anything. I literally have to let the cheap razor do whatever it wants and get scolded if I don’t. App is basically for customer tracking and upsell.

GroomTribeStylingandShaving is only for people wanting some sort of facial hair. Its not for the folks that want a clean shave. Besides, timing at just 3 minutes, what if a person has as issue shaving that fast? Like a handicap or medical issue, you then get the orange shame icon? Not happy at all on this purchase. A device that tells me how long to shave and GroomTribeStylingandShaving is limited at best.

Has some cool features, and could be really neat if there was an option to use the shave monitoring without being forced to share all your information with Phillips who does not need your information, but wants to sell it to other people could’ve been a good app was ruined due to a corporation, trying to make every penny they can

Got my Series 9000 delivered today. Still can’t get my IPhone 13 paired & shaver paired. Running IOS 17.1.1 Followed all the steps twice and nada.

As of yesterday I called Philips # in the small manual. A young lady in NY spent 30+ minutes with me. Eventually, I got my iPhone paired with the shaver app. My suggestion is you have another group re-write the instructions. First organize the steps, as currently the various steps are poorly prioritized. I do like the 9000 series I purchased but I spent way to much time on less than well written guide steps. Bob Morris

The new design for 2024 is much improved. Previously it was hard to find what you were looking for. Now everything is right where I would expect it to be. Give the people responsible for the UI/UX design a raise.

I am a 70 year old man, and I’ve owned a lot of razors over the years and many different brands, but this is the best razor I have ever owned. Very smooth, cuts, really close, and doesn’t break out your skin. I love it, and would highly recommend it.

Since the last update when I tried to login using my global Philips account (I had all shaving records on it) it keeps directing me to Chinese domain of Philips cause my iPhone is logged into a Chinese Apple account. There’s no point I log out of my whole Apple account just for GroomTribeStylingandShaving. Please fix it or I can only login to a Chinese account with no past shaving data available to me any more!

Easy to clean and I really like GroomTribeStylingandShaving it shows me that I am getting better at it and I am looking forward for a lot of great years

Half the time GroomTribeStylingandShaving does not connect to razor, even when the phone shows razor is connected to Bluetooth. Becomes a waste of time trying to connect.
The 7885 razor is excellent with very close shave.

The 700 series razor has got to be the best razor I’ve ever had easy to use easy to clean and smooth on your face. Thank you guys very much.

GroomTribeStylingandShaving is user-friendly and efficiently tracks cleanings and battery status. However, the shave tracking feature could be enhanced. I've noticed that while performing the same shaving motion, GroomTribeStylingandShaving initially records the efficiency as below 50% and then suddenly increases to about 100% after roughly 5 to 10 seconds of use, ultimately settling at 80% efficiency. I believe this could potentially reach 90%. And the competitor in me wants the points that are mine 🙃.

Had always used manual razors and got tired of areas that grow in different directions and trying to get a clean shave. I read about this razor and thought I'd give it a try. I'm loving it! It gets a good clean shave. Since it has rotary blades it gets those privileged areas that grow in different directions. This is a great shaver!
