Amusing idea—but Beardpreviewstylingadvice is absolutely terrible. Don’t waste your time

Saw a previous review that attempted to speak to this with a response from the developer that also missed the mark (and somewhat snide at that). The issue with Beardpreviewstylingadvice isn’t the colors available, it’s the texture. There are plenty of men that the lone texture used would not fit (i.e, anyone non-white). Kind of untenable in the year 2020.

Just downloaded this and and going to delete it as there is no option to see a beard in grey... unless I missed something ? Many bearded gents are older- grey to white spectrum... would be nice if this was more inclusive .

I like the concept of having an app that can be used to show what a beard would look like on a person. Kudos for making an app like this.

That being said, there is one question that i cannot help but ask: why does Beardpreviewstylingadvice not preview black beard hair?

They preview brown hair, red hair, blonde hair, etc, but not black beard hair. It’s bizarre, because virtually 100% of black people have black hair, as well as a large chunk of white people and i’m willing to bet a pretty large chunk (if not all) asian people do too. Yet Beardpreviewstylingadvice makers didn’t include previewing black facial hair.
I feel ridiculous previewing my beard with brown facial hair.

Just spins around and around

As someone who already has facial hair and is looking to change styles, there is no option to work with a bare face. If you use the camera to take a picture, it cannot remove existing facial hair.

Thankfully, it lets you upload an old picture from your phone. Unfortunately it enforces a static aspect ratio and squeezes all my pictures to be too long vertically. I’ve played with cropping pictures and it still does it. No options for me to get a bare face in Beardpreviewstylingadvice , so it’s unusable except to look at pictures of models. I can already do that with Google.

Also the ads are too repetitive and annoying.

Not helpful when you only have black to blond choices. Some of us have gray beards.

The only problem is that us old guys can’t do grey hair. :-)

Great app

Makes me feel great and confident about my facial hair choices.

I discovered Beardpreviewstylingadvice on the side of a grooming kit and decided to give it a try. I didn't know what to expect when downloading it, but to my surprise it actually offers really cool hair styling looks techniques. You can even take a photo of your own face to see what different facial hair styles to try.

i like this functionality of being able to preview different beard styles
