They say they are on top of everything they’re not!Look at any other medical device on Apple and I am sure they are up-to-date with the new phone this is ridiculous they can have it back! I never wanna use them again.
Update, I am now under the assumption that this is Apples fault, at least by there response to my complaint. I am to assume that all other companies that have medical devices on the iPhone are having the same problem with updates to their apps because Apple doesn’t give them enough time to get a work app up and running before they release a software update to the phone. So we should all complain to Apple for not giving enough time to them. Maybe a class action lawsuit to force Apple because thousands of people depend on the functionality of their medical devices on the phone. if Apple doesn’t care about people that use their service than it’s all their fault, not this little company that can’t upgrade to work on a new operating program after a month of it being out. So Apple Watch Out You Are On Notice.
Now respond to that one!

The ap has many errors. After calling them, I discovered that it’s because it’s not compatible with iPhone update.

GuardianConnectUS isn’t stable at all. I had to uninstall it because it had my entire phone frozen. I’ve had to calibrate at least 3 times a day because GuardianConnectUS isn’t working properly. Last week GuardianConnectUS updated and I had to pair my transmitter again. Which means I had to disconnect it from the sensor. Using this system is the worst decision I have made.
I’m editing this review to add that I called tech support as directed after my initial review. I pressed 4 for the stand alone CGM and was something connected to support for an insulin pump. The rep tried to transfer me to the right department, no one answered, and the call bounced back to that original rep I spoke with. This is sad. People depend on GuardianConnectUS to assist with making medical decisions and it’s unreliable. This is unacceptable.

Why does it take so incredibly long for Medtronic to update it’s software apps relative to others. To me, it’s so unreasonable to take so long having been in the diabetes game so long (along with other technologies). Working bugs out of an app in no way compares to the rigorous checks and balances I would think are in place for research and development of the actually equipment. I have spent years waiting for software to communicate with my sons pump for years. With every rollout, an update to my hardware’s OS renders the tech useless for sometimes more than a year. It’s just unreasonable for the type and size of company Medtronic is. You need to do far better far faster in regard to the tools you provide for diabetes management you offer. I picture comfy app developers giving lip service in meetings that isn’t appreciated by superiors or other departments. My son’s life has been largely affected by the lack of those promised features never or inconsistently being realized. Now into adulthood, he will struggle to manage his diabetes as it has been a laborious experience confounded for him by the other health issues he happens to have have. Being less likely to face his diabetes consistently as a young adult will cost healthcare a lot more and diminish his quality of life. GuardianConnectUS represented years of waiting thru U.I.s and extra equipment only to be let down by bugs!!!!!

Why the guardian connect app does not work with 630G Pump and the Guardian Link 3 Sensors and Transmitter. You put out these apps that doesn’t work with your systems.

Promised updated app in two weeks, four weeks ago.
I have reverted back to the freestyle libre 15 day gcm until Medtronics gets their act together.

GuardianConnectUS supporter’s are extremely slow to get updates to GuardianConnectUS to stay up to date with the iOS software.
by John.w.young
Welp, it’s been 2 years. Redownloaded GuardianConnectUS and still doesn’t work. Since Medtronic are making apps now for their devices and their devices work about 20% of the time, you know the answer of “wonder if this will work”

I upgraded my phone from an iPhone 6 (doesn’t update to iOS 13) to the iPhone 11 because I was having system crashes. Well evidently GuardianConnectUS doesn’t work with iOS 13 whenever I called about GuardianConnectUS not working the lady asked if I called apple and had the most up to date software (obviously I do I purchased my phone yesterday at the apple store) and whenever she finally got in contact with someone else they told her to tell me to call apple back and have them downgrade my software and if I didn’t want to do that to call and order an insulin pump instead. I just got this CGM 4 days ago. I do not have interest in an insulin pump quite frankly if I did it wouldn’t be a Medtronic one. Why is it so difficult to update an app? And yes I asked if there was an update that was coming to work with iOS 13 and she said they don’t have a plan for that at this time and they are trying to work on making GuardianConnectUS better but if it works out they have no idea when it is going to be out.

I don’t understand why a company would abandon its own medical device product and leave it without support. I’ve been in dire need to connect this sensor to my phone and it is IMPOSSIBLE because GuardianConnectUS will not allow me to connect to my device, maybe because it’s older or whatever but we’re talking about someone’s health and your app fails to deliver what it promises

The new iPhone has been out for almost 3 weeks: my work forces me to upgrade every time a new one comes out, and their mundane staff did not think it would be a good idea to be proactive to update their software to support to the most popular device inthr world. I had Dexcom for years and was forced into this joke of a cgm because of insurance limitations. Medtronic is a bargain basement device at best. Shame on your incompetent programming staff.

i just received a new 770g pump and GL3 sensor after months of struggle with insurance and was super excited until i tried to set up the system and connect it to my phone, which it will not do because it does not support the current ios updates apparently. super ridiculous of medtronic to promote and recommend this product when it doesn’t even function correctly 🙄

So i got the system so i could use on my Newest released Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3… downloaded GuardianConnectUS and stated it was not supported…. Then i figured… “Im thinking about getting a tablet for other personal reasons, and it would be great to see results on a bigger screen.” Went out and purchased at 2021 ipad Mini.. also not supported… so its not supported with any of the newer andriod or apple devices… what device supports this???

This this will work for 2 weeks then not. I’ll install a fully charged transmitter and not even 24 hours I will get either a lost communication (when I’m next to my phone) and ultimately will never connect again or I’ll get a reinstall, literally after one day! This has put me in danger more times than helped me. They make all kinds of excuses just to continue to bill your insurance company. Go with another CGM

If I could not give a star I wouldn’t. I upgraded my phone- in the process found out GuardianConnectUS is not supported on the most updated software. Who know! I know have 3 months of supplies on a product I can’t use. Any responsible company would be able to roll with updates, however- I am left in the dust. I am beyond upset, as when I got the device I told the person from Medtronic that I was upgrading my phone, and he didn’t say anything about it not being supported. I called the tech support and they told me it could be 1 to 2 months before it was supported. I don’t know what to do for 1 to 2 months without the ability to continually monitor my glucose levels. Disappointed beyond what you can imagine.

Medtronic invest a lot in develop sensor and transmitter but GuardianConnectUS looks developed by third party Apple overseas developers, after 1 year waiting for an update the core of problems are not fixed. Bluetooth disconnects a lot and the annoying app beeps at every hour!!! Inclusive the notifications have non sense as keep GuardianConnectUS open when is running in background. But the worst are the iOS versions compatibility, by example I bought a iPhone SE 2020 that is in the list of supported devices, it has iOS 13.7 not runs, in my old iPhone with the same iOS version run with a warning I realize GuardianConnectUS only supports until version 13.5.1 and the 14, but I am fear of update because the last from Apple is 14.0.2 maybe won’t run or give a warning who knows?
Medtronic if I will find another product with a better app I swear I will change, but seems that your competitor doesn’t care too its app to more than 4 months without an update.

Ever since GuardianConnectUS updated, I’ve had an issue where I will calibrate the sensor, and while the new calibration is loading GuardianConnectUS will send me a message telling me to calibrate it soon. Immediately after getting that message, GuardianConnectUS will cease calibrating and tell me it failed. I’ve also had bugs where it will tell me the second calibration failed and I need to change the sensor... on the first calibration. Furthermore, after taking the sensor out today because of that very issue, it “connected” a new sensor about 10 minutes later, while I had not yet put a new one in. As you can’t even escape the new sensor calibration screen, I had to shut the whole thing down to get it to work again.
Also, I agree with everyone saying GuardianConnectUS notifications now mute calls.

Real time data great. No 7,14,30 or 90 day average glucose data? No approximate a1c data. Have to calibrate way too often. Sometimes in the middle of the night. No real help.

When I first went to download GuardianConnectUS I read the reviews and I thought “Just great! Look at all the negative reviews.” Well this one is not going to be negative.
I was a little skeptical about using The Guardian Connect after reading these reviews. Not pairing properly with your phone, draining your phone battery so you have to charge your phone 2 or 3 times a day, having to calibrate 4 or 5 times a day, not getting accurate readings and so on and so on..... none of that has happened to me. Maybe it’s not the device but the user.
I was trained to use my Guardian Connect by a Medtronic Company Representative. She explained how GuardianConnectUS numbers and your meter numbers can differ because one is using tissue fluid and the other blood. The higher the number the bigger the discrepancy (as much as 30 points).
As for the drain on the phone battery, I noticed that I have to charge my phone by end of each day where as before my battery lasted a day and a half. iPhone 8+.
I have been using this for a month now and it really gives me peace of mind knowing I am going to be alerted when I go low. It also made me hyper aware of the impact certain foods have on my numbers. I have better control and I feel this device is a game changer.
Been a Diabetic for over 25 years, Type 2 Insulin Dependent. So glad that my Diabetic Pharmacologist recommended The Guardian Connect!

GuardianConnectUS is the absolute worst! I wish I would have gone with the Dexcom CGM. Here’s why:
1. GuardianConnectUS drains my phone battery like no other! It might be the frequency of the Bluetooth call to the transmitter, but I shouldn’t have to charge my phone 3 times a day to use.
2. You can’t change the alert tone. I would just like a quiet vibrate while at work. I don’t need an obnoxiously loud noise. You should be able to chose. It startled me every time.
3. While GuardianConnectUS ’s alert is obnoxious, it conveniently manages to make my text messages and phone calls be completely silent. They used to vibrate. This is a huge problem since my phone now spends more time away from me charging because of the battery drain.
4. It even manages to impact Apple car play! When the phone is plugged in for google maps, it will override the radio in the car and play no music at all. Complete silence. I’ll switch back to radio and get out of Apple CarPlay only to have the car/phone switch back to Apple CarPlay silence every 5 min. I’m guessing this is every time the Bluetooth makes a call to the transmitter. Basically I have to chose music and no maps, or maps and silence!
To summarize... GuardianConnectUS is the absolute worst and needs major fixes! It’s like GuardianConnectUS hacked my phone (and kinda my life for that matter).

I would consider GuardianConnectUS pretty barebones. It’s also not been updated since May. Another reviewer says it doesn’t work with IOS 13.
My biggest gripe is GuardianConnectUS /device do not update glucose in the Apple Heath app and there is no Apple Watch interface. I do think the device is pretty accurate on glucose values, although I have not done a two device comparison other than the 6/12 hr calibrations.
I’ve used GuardianConnectUS and it’s related device for two months now and have friends with the competition. I got this system because I wanted to go to Medtronic 870g in future but now I’m really second guessing my decision.

The Guardian Connect system uses a tiny sensor to measure glucose levels in fluid just below your skin, every 5 minutes.
With the Guardian Connect mobile app, you can see your most recent sensor glucose data and glucose trends over time.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This app will only work with Guardian Connect transmitter, which was specifically designed to communicate with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch via Bluetooth.
To use the Guardian Connect system, you will need the Guardian Connect transmitter and Guardian Sensor 3, as well as this app.
It will not connect to other Medtronic CGM transmitters, including the MiniLink and Guardian Link 3 transmitters.
Introducing the Guardian™ Connect continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system.
You can also receive alerts to notify you when you're going above or below your preferred range and keep track of daily events which may impact your glucose levels.
Your mobile app also sends your data to CareLink™ Personal diabetes management software, so you can see your full information online and share your information with family or friends.
It takes readings all day and night and sends them to your phone via a small wireless transmitter, so you can see how you're doing anytime.
Those closest to you can even receive text messages whenever you go out of range.
This transmitter has the letters "GC" on the front.
