Didn’t work and then expired!

I tried EpicRideWeather linked to RidewithGPS. I did not purchase it, so was on the free trial mode. I tried to get it to forecast a route I was planning and it would just come back with an error and never did work. Then, in less than a day it aside my free trial was over and wanted me to pay. NO THANKS. I agree, my trial is over. EpicRideWeather not ready. The idea is great. Maybe after some more development.

Accurate weather forecast at your fingertips!

Do not get on you bike with checking EpicRideWeather first. Living in Tampa Bay it is essential at this time of year (Spring leading into Summer) to check on the conditions especially as we approach another hurricane season; the afternoon storms and potential for lightning strikes increases dramatically so it is essential to check what I could be riding into before I set out and the ability to do so hours in advance is an added plus.

The wind arrows are especially useful and on a number of occasions I have been able to prepare myself for rides and not experience the unexpected gusts out of nowhere!

Overall a great tool and very inexpensive for a one year subscription. This is a “Yellow Jersey” app.

Great product but slipping

I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. It's really a great product but lately it's been slipping. There has been a performance downgrade in soled and accuracy since the shift to Apple weather. I'm. It sure what service they were using before but at least in my experience they absolutely nailed it. Since then the accuracy has been fine but noticeably like accuracy than before. Also the speed, loading, etc has decreased since the switch. I'm not sure if that's related or not.

Indispensable!

I live in the northern Rockies and bike year-round. The weather is tough to predict in the mountains, but technology has made the weather-guessers so much better. The proper application of this technology through Rpic Ride has helped me properly chose my routes and gear and has lead to far more enjoyable rides. EpicRideWeather helps me live by the old adage, “There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.”

I will ride in the wind, but I prefer to let it blow me home. Again, big win here with forecasting direction and magnitude at the precise place and time I will be on my route.

Sure, I could pack the kitchen sink every time I ride (and occasionally have to), but EpicRideWeather helps me avoid overpacking. I worry less and ride more.

Always getting better

EpicRideWeather is fantastic! The platform is great and it communicates very well with other apps like Strava and Ride With GPS. The developers listen to consumer feedback, updating EpicRideWeather regularly to stay on top of ever changing tech.

It is very intuitive and with 10-minute interval forecasts, one can very accurately measure how long they’ll take on a particular ride.

Download EpicRideWeather and go chase that tailwind!

I don’t ride without checking here first

I love EpicRideWeather! I never leave the house without checking in here first. I especially love it for making sure I get a nice tailwind on the second half of my rides ;)

Greatest App Ever!

Thanks to The Ride Collective for putting EpicRideWeather on my radar. I can't count how many times I've tried to cobble together this kind of ride forecast from other "point" weather forecast data sources...

Don't Leave Home Without It!

I'd like to echo the sentiments of a previous reviewer from Colorado. The weather in the Front Range can be volatile, and changes in elevation throw additional variables into the mix. Epic Ride Weather is very reliable and easy to use. It's become an indispensable part of my ride planning!

Go-to resource for difficult days on the bike

Surprisingly accurate; especially useful determining wind direction over longer routes. I use this for gravel racing in particular where changes in wind direction and temperature at higher altitudes can determine where efforts are spent and clothing choices. Haven’t been let down yet!

Just do it

I don't review apps as often as I should, but this one deserves it. If you ever ride when the weather is cold and you're trying to decide how many layers to wear based on how high the temperature is going to get while you're out, then you need EpicRideWeather.

We've also had some really windy days recently and I selected a route to do based on the wind forecast in EpicRideWeather. Great stuff.

Great app for Time Trialists

EpicRideWeather is awesome if you race TTs. If you have a data file (like a Strava or Ride With GPS route), you can import that into Epic Ride Weather and get wind speed and direction, plus temp and precipitation forecasts for your course. Enter your start time, course and expected speed and Epic Ride Weather will give you the relevant weather data for each leg of your course. Sweet. So helpful in planning how to ride your splits. Love EpicRideWeather. And great technical support too!

Seriously awesome app

EpicRideWeather that you think there should be an app for this, and luckily there is! This has saved me more than once. I went to do an 80 miler a couple hours away from me one time and EpicRideWeather warned me that at the high points in the ride that the temperature would be below freezing. Wasn’t going to wear any layers but did because of this. Saved me from freezing to death!

Essential application for cyclists

Extremely useful application for any cyclist that rides outdoors. Overlays weather data with your planned cycling route, departure date/time and speed. It allows you to make educated decisions regarding what route to take on any particular day, what clothing to wear, and what time to ride. I especially appreciate knowing wind direction and speed. The application is very easy to use and the output is easily shared with your riding partners. I lead a lot of rides with my cycling club in Chicago and always use EpicRideWeather as conditions can change, depending on which direction we travel and who doesn’t want to have the tailwind home….. Well worth the subscription price.

Great app

I’m a weather aficionado and I love EpicRideWeather for understanding the weather forecast along a ride route. Here in N California we live with wildly differing microclimates across fairly short distances and times. EpicRideWeather looks at the weather forecast along the route at the time we will be there, showing the expected effect of those microclimates. I could dig this out from localized weather forecasts, but this is so much easier and faster. Love it!

Better Than All The Other Weather Forecasters

After a concern about EpicRideWeather , the explanation I received was very prompt I was able to discussed the situation with our Group Leader and since we were looking at the total area for our rides we saw no reason to suggest a change in the way they handled the data for rides. The weather predictions and forecasts for the days we ride are spot on
.
Keep up the good work. Your forecasting is better then The Weather Channel and local weather combined.

Perfect for Colorado’s Changing Weather

I ride four season on road, gravel and trail at wide-ranging elevations. When planning my routes I use EpicRideWeather to check conditions and often pick which direction for circuit rides...particularly thanks to the wind arrows. EpicRideWeather pulls my Strava rides quite easily and makes it easy to scan my options...and put the wind at my back on climbs. I’ll check in advance and then again before setting out.

It does one thing and does it well...weather for your ride. It’s simplicity is its strength.

Amazing app, amazing support

7 friends and I are about to embark on a 3-day ride from Grand Junction, CO to Moab, UT later this week.

Given that it’s early May in the Rockies, we are concerned about weather (including possible snow). I discovered Epic Ride Weather, and uploaded our route. The .gpx file has all 3 days as one ride, so I couldn’t figure out how to separate each day’s ride for accessing the weather for each day, as EpicRideWeather assumed I was riding straight through, without stopping at designated spots each day.

I reached out to the developer, David Green, on a Saturday morning, and within minutes, he responded and walked me through how to accomplish what I was trying. I now know the forecast for each day’s segment, and was happy to learn that there was no rain or snow in the forecast (I’m wondering if David can do anything about the expected headwinds!).

Thanks, David, for a great app and even better support.

Wow!

I have been using EpicRideWeather for several years, but I am giving a review now for the first time. Everything about EpicRideWeather is awesome. I pair it up with my Ride With GPS routes and it gives me an accurate weather forecast, including wind direction along the route.

I had a pretty major hiccup today. I was basically locked out as I was trying to get a forecast for a century that I am riding tomorrow. I trashed EpicRideWeather and then downloaded it again... no luck. I wrote the developer, David Green, and he responded right away and said that the problem got fixed on his end. Seriously amazing support!

Excellent Support and App

I haven't used Epic Ride Weather very much, but on the occasions that I have, it has been extremely useful. Being able to see the wind directions on the route I intend to ride is the most useful feature for me. I just had a small problem with EpicRideWeather on my iPhone; it said my subscription had expired, even though I had renewed it about two weeks ago on my iPad, and I reached out to David. He responded within minutes and told me how to resolve the issue. Extremely pleased by that! EpicRideWeather is valuable enough to me, that when I renewed, I opted for automatic annual renewals. As a road cyclist, this is an extremely useful addition to my riding 'kit'. Thank you David!

Just an awesome cycling support app

Love this product complete forecast for ride planning and forecasting critical weather indicators like winds, temperatures, rain etc. can’t plan a ride without it.
