Google Smart Lock Status

I shut my phone off at night when I restart smart lock works seamlessly but then lthe app crashes. I can go back into smart lock but there are no vhoices to select from, it's just a blank page. Restarting the phone only eliminates the problem for a few minutes. Galaxy S20 FE. I have a duplicate S20 FE that doesn't have the same problem. It is newer but has the same versEd. software installed.

not sure what changed but on Pixel 3 XL smart lock now stops working after some period of time. when I go into the smart lock area in settings it's just blank where there used to be devices/places listed. Just started happening in the last month. seems to come back after reboot but eventually quits working again.
