Very Disappointed

I have been using Even for almost a year. It was working perfectly, and it was the best financial app on the market. It allowed me to get money from my paychecks early, and my favorite part was the “spend” tab. It organized my bills very plainly, so I knew what bills I had to pay with each paycheck. It was the best. However, recently ONEWork is no longer compatible with my bank, so I can’t use that feature anymore. I honestly valued that feature more than being able to get paid early. I don’t understand how it worked for so long, then stopped. I’ve contacted the support team several times, and they’ve said that there is nothing to be done. Now I’m having to use another app for the planning/budget aspect. I’m paying every month for the even plus subscription, and it’s disappointing that I can’t use every feature on ONEWork . Had my bank been more popular, I’m sure this wouldn’t have been an issue. I feel that smaller banks aren’t given as much attention during development. Even though this could very well be an issue with my bank’s software development, I think the spend tab should be available still, to allow manual input.

One Star for Intregrity

UPDATE: Was told by Even Support that Even Basic is in fact free for employees of qualified employers. I still believe that should be more clear, as that’s only informed in the membership screen.

Even has a lot going for it. It’s a beautiful app with amazing features for financial planning. However, it’s payment structure is very hidden from the user and awfully misleading. ONEWork description mentions nothing about a subscription, neither does ONEWork ’s setup. If I hadn’t gone into my settings I wouldn’t have noticed that A: Even has membership options B: there is no free membership option C: I was signed up for a free trial membership (the Basic plan) and wouldn’t have known the date or anything had I not checked that section. Upon reading their website FAQ, it mentions that Even charges no fee except for their Plus membership which is $6 a month rather than $3 for Basic. Things like that should be made evident to users, not hidden behind doors. Also as a critique to hopefully have this pushed in a future update, it looks like Even has iPhone X support but items are getting cut off on the notch and on the bottom portion of the display. Please fix it as it really ruins the sleek style of ONEWork .

Doesn’t even do the fastpay

I am new to ONEWork. I signed up the other day so I could take advantage of the 1X Weekly pay that my company offers through the Even app. Since signing up I have been able to open ONEWork and otherwise scroll/flip through the main pages of different sections. However, whenever I go to the instapay page, and click continue so I can fastpay, ONEWork crashes and force closes itself making me reopen ONEWork and start over. It crashes every time I click continue to do the fastpay. I have been talking to support for the last day or so, and over that time they have told me they were speaking to someone to try and resolve the issue. First they told me they were talking to just normal IT, then they were talking to their software engineers (I’m assuming to try and see if there was a flaw in my apps downloaded coding), and then a third agent came on the line and said they were speaking to management to try and figure out what was going on. Like really it shouldn’t be this difficult for me to use the fastpay feature y’all are making it way more difficult than it has to be. Get your act together!!!

Best finance app I’ve ever used

Even is AMAZING! I can see how much I make every day, how much my next paycheck is, and get paid EARLY! It keeps track of all your income, bank accounts, and bills. It budgets for you 100%, shows you how much you can spend everyday and still pay all the bills and rent coming up. It’s like having a personal accountant. Also customer service is fast. My question (adding my raise) was answered and the representative fixed everything for me in less than 2 min. They responded instantly, within about 10 seconds which really surprised me. Oh and you can set aside savings without opening up a new bank account. I don’t even use my bank’s app anymore, Even does it all.

Pretty great app! except …

I have been using the even app for quite some time now and i haven’t had much issues with it , it’s got instapay which i love , i get paid EARLY , and i know exactly how much i’m going to get paid for the next couple of paychecks. I ran into a problem although when i tried to change my bank account , i think it’s RIDICULOUS that in order to change your bank account you have to delete the whole app!! there is LITERALLY not an option to change it at all! I literally just want to change it however what if someone else entered the wrong information on accident ? or what if something happened to that bank account thus forcing them to rid the one they have currently , it’s not fair at all and i feel that’s something very simple that should have BEEN an option on ONEWork , PLEASE fix this it’s very frustrating. Thank u. - Ashlee

Tsk tsk tsk smh

Just a tad misleading, guys. "Even's budgeting features are free to use. Even Plus blah Instapay blah blah employer in the list they may blah blah $8/ mo." I must be a real moron because I downloaded ONEWork thinking my employer didn't have to be on the list to use the budgeting part of ONEWork and if by some chance my new employer WAS on the list, well, I might get really lucky. They may pay for the Instapay part and even though the idea of being paid early really wasn't all that appealing to me because if you took advantage of that aspect of ONEWork , it might be helpful at the time, but it would just be that much harder to make it until the next payday features or would be farther away, I thought I'd check it out too and just pay the $8/mo myself if my employer didn't ---just in case, you know? Well.....that would be a huge NOPE!! If your employer isn't on the list, you can't use the budgeting part either. That was a bit of a let down so 1 star for being misleading.

It was okay until a mistake happened on their end

It’s a good app really. But someone on the even app really needs to do their job correctly!! My instapay got messed up with my last paycheck and now they had to take money out from this paycheck so they could fix the problem. Which I don’t honestly agree with at all. I ain’t saying I want free money. I’m saying the job should have been done correctly. Because now I have to wait for ANOTHER paycheck to pull money if I really need it. Like right now I need it because bills have got to get paid and now imma be behind and it’s gonna cost me more money!!! Can’t pull an instapay out from the paycheck I’m working on now. Y’all were doing great up until this situation. Now I’m skeptical, especially since y’all want us to do that savings thing. So because this happens I WILL NOT be using that savings part on my Even app BECAUSE of this situation.

Great Initial Experience

I used ONEWork to get an advance on my first paycheck. The required steps were clearly defined and ONEWork functioned just as the description said it would.

Also, it appears to me that the confusion about subscription costs mentioned in a previous review, has been clarified. It couldn’t be more clear that the “Plus” subscription is available for a one month FREE trial period. What’s really awesome about these developers is they set up the default to NOT auto-renew the subscription after the trial period. You actually have to select auto-renew for that to happen.

This is a great, easy to use app, that really saved me when I needed it most. Many thanks to the developers.

1-5 stars

Even can be a lifesaver. Allows you access to funds for your emergency situation.
On the other hand many things are not clear or partially hidden from user; for instance the price. It is not free! It leads one to believe it is. Also i hope you dont have any questions that require immediate attention. Your led to believe that you can just text them and all is well and probably will be, but it may be 6,8 hours later. There are other issues that give it that shadowy feel of what are they not telling me even though you wont find out till too late. I asked for maximum draw then the second i closed that screen the mac went up 40 dollars. Guess ill text them and get that straightened out. Nope text was closed. Didnt tell me that either

Good for emergencies

ONEWork always came in handy when I needed money before payday. Unfortunately I can’t use it anymore since I’m no longer a Walmart Employee but when I did have access to instapay I was able to cash out at a Walmart store which was convenient. The only thing I don’t really understand is why we have to pay our own money back from hours we’ve already worked. I know it’s an advance before payday but it’s literally coming from what we’ve already worked. Anyway, I would definitely recommend ONEWork to anyone who works for Walmart and needs money instantly. I just wish that I could utilize instapay with my new employer in San Bernardino County but nonetheless, i was happy to be able to use it when I was able.

Best money/budget app I’ve used in a while!

After all my years of using apps on ONEWork Store, this will be my FIRST review. I love the Even app so much that I have to say THANK YOU to the developers for creating such an innovative & convenient way for people to budget, plan & save money accordingly. I use ONEWork in conjunction w the Digit app & not to sound cheesy, but it’s decreased my stress & improved the quality of my life already! The money transfers quickly (depends on your bank) & picking up the $ at the Walmart center is always stress free as long as you have valid ID matching the address you’ve given ONEWork . This such a brilliant idea, I can’t imagine how I lived w o it before. Thanks again Even!

Kind Of Annoyed

ONEWork is wonderful to see your bills and plan ahead how much pay checks will be, and it updates when you get overtime hours and roughly 24hrs after that overtime shift, your paycheck will update to see its new amount which I love!

BUT... ONEWork completely lacks to do its main purpose. Its supposed to deduct from my bank account bills from my banks current status so I know how much I can spend. However ONEWork WONT UPDATE MY BANKS STATUS. At one point my accounts went into a status of -$0.80 (gas oops) for my checking and $285 for my savings. It has been like this for 3 weeks. I have undownloaded and redownloaded ONEWork . I have refreshed the banking connection. I have tried to disconnect the bank account but ONEWork ACTUALLY WONT ALLOW ME TO.

A little frustrated. Why does this company have my banking information if it is not going to accurately keep up to date with whats in my account? WHY ELSE DO YOU NEED THAT INFO

By

Savings

I love ONEWork , but recently I checked my Even Savings and it takes 5% of my paycheck out (or its supposed to.) 5% of my paycheck would be $33, not $17 and ONEWork said it was putting 17 dollars into my savings to be 5% of my paycheck! 5% of my check is $33, it’s supposed to add 33 dollars, why is this not correct? Where is the rest of the money going? It needs to be going to the savings! Do y’all have an actual person running the savings and they can’t do basic math? What is going on with that? It’s like half as much.

*update* the account is NOT under THIS name, ONEWork is kept on the wife’s phone- under the husbands name, who works for Walmart, because the wife keeps track of the bills. So no, you wouldn’t find the account under this name.*

Useless

Yet another app that wants to steal all of your money. First, you can sign up with a text plus number. So have fun with getting random calls from people when they sell your info. They may not doing it this second but it’s just a matter of time. I’ve looked into several other apps and they accepted texting apps. There’s no reason this one shouldn’t. Second, you have to link your bank account. They WILL charge you a fee you did not agree purposely agree to. Third, their customer service is a whole joke. If you want help, just delete all your information off ONEWork and delete it. It’s funny. Their customer support couldn’t help me for over a month or find my previous requests for help but after I deleted my banking info they still charged me for two months. Stay away from ONEWork. It looks pretty but it’s useless and will just give you a headache.

Love the app, just one question.

I’ve been using ONEWork for awhile and I don’t have any real problems, the savings is good, the calculations, everything is great. One thing I would like to see a change to is the amount you’re able to pull with instapay. There have been times where I needed practically my whole check before payday for bills and I can’t pull out enough. So, I then get late fees and I think it would be amazing if it could be raised to at least 75% or maybe just 100%. Please, think about this. I’m sure it has to do with trying o help people manage their money more but in dire times of need I need everything. Thank you.

Not updating.. frustrating

I loved ONEWork... at first. Helped me keep track of my bills, spending, and budget. In the past two months, I have I had nothing but issue after issue with it. It isn’t consistently updating— having my transactions from over a month old be my most recent ones. I’m paying for ONEWork and it’s still not up to date. I pretty much message daily to the “get help” crew who just consistently ask me to re-sign in which doesn’t always work and when it does, still doesn’t update my account. This is so beyond frustrating for an app that was working perfectly fine and super helpful before. Now it’s just annoyed, out of date, and useless. Glad I decided to cancel my subscription, not to mention that it has barely worked for the month I have already paid for it.

Continues to get better

At first, I was not sure about ONEWork. Certain information it was quoting about my bills seemed incorrect. However, the longer I use ONEWork , the more spending habits it has to learn from, and it truly does seem to learn. My advice if you have a bumpy start is to give it time. Now, ONEWork is able to more properly quote my bills and judge more accurately how far I’m behind or ahead monetarily. Also the instapay is a great feature. Instead of juggling around bills to suit my paydates, I just use instapay. I’m able to receive my payment the following business day, enabling me to pay that bill immediately.

By

Are we in the future?

My first impression of even is that it gathers all of your upcoming bills for that months and basically adds what you’ll be paying in total for that whole month. And, that is perfect because now I know exactly what I’ll be paying monthly, which makes it easier to view. Anyways, I haven’t fully used the instapay option just yet, as I have just started using ONEWork . ONEWork is an absolute genius idea who would’ve ever come up with such a brilliant idea! I’ll update my review once I try the instapay option. And, I’m really hoping it goes well, as I have already left 5 stars.

Rough times

I’m going through a very rough patch in my life a major mile stone and I don’t get much good news. But with the even app I get so much positive information it changes my day for the better. When I really need to focus on where the money is and where it’s going even helps me to prepare for the future whatever that may bring. The best part is that I don’t have to pay fees for this wonderful service because I am a Walmart employee. Ms. Janice told me about ONEWork and I have been grateful ever since. thank you very much for all you do. ONEWork really helps me.

Dont make a mistake

Don't make a mistake on here they will make you feel stupid for it. Also when you change your account info they dont tell you if you have weekly payments, the whole reason to have them, then you have to go in and change what account gets paid weekly. Even tho you have stripped all the other account information from ONEWork. When it comes time for the weekly payment. You keep checking the new account not there. Then you check the old account and it’s there. Go to customer service. Agent tells me its my fault for not changing the weekly account info. Should just be one account info that you change when they use terms like “main account”. And you only put in one and don't hit add other accounts. Ok rant over…

Amazing

Its a really good app i love it its the best to know exactly how much you getting on your paycheck how many how’s you have and if you want you can use it a savings app i love that feature it really helps

Theres a month fee for insta cash but i feel that its really cheap compared to being late on a payment or having to overdraft you debit card

The support team it’s super fast i had a question and the chat said that there was high traffic that it might take up to 24 hours for a response but in seconds becky answer my question and she was really friendly and kind and she answer exactly what I needed.

She was so amazing I actually took the time to let you guys know my experience with ONEWork (tbh I don’t review any app so this is my first time) hope you guys feel like this help you get the answer of if you want to download this or not (i can tell you something I wish I had ONEWork 5 years ago I would of been on my feet’s sooner.

a waste of time!

don’t waste your time! you an only use their service if you company joins their program. Let’s be realistic... their isn’t many big companies that’s going to want to join them, i work for Hilton Hotels & Resort they use adp for payroll processing etc. I showed my manager this she said it’s a joke because i’d have to email corporate to get in board and that just isn’t going to happen! The old saying is something isn’t broken, don’t fix it! As fast as i created my account i deleted it. I’ll stick to Earnin and Moneylion. the only reason i wanted to join was to use to app in the form of an advance paycheck i get paid every 2 weeks and sometimes it’s nice to be able to pay bills up in advance so you don’t worry about them, so if ur company is participating then you’re in luck but don’t waste your time!!!!

Love everything about the app other than there shouldn’t be a one time instacash use per pay period. I think I should be able to use it as many times as I needed up until the 50% of my pay I can get. For instance one scenario…. Was allowed up to like 450$ instacash. I only got 150$. So I feel as if I needed the other 300 I could get but only allows one per pay period. Needs to allow as many as one wants in my opinion. But great app other than that

Kim Rose   1 year ago

The app is not very useful most times. It’s takes days for this crappy things to refresh or update , your available balance is always less than what you actually have due to this slowness. Useless at times

App disappeared will not let me download again
