Nano X is NOT a mobile only device!

2022-05-22

Ledger is holding my Ethereum hostage! I bought the Ledger Nano x because I do not own a compute nor a Mac. I’m working on my iPad and iPhone and Ledger told us this was a hardware wallet that I can use with my mobile divides only. Now two years later I cannot access nor transfer my Ethereum. The only way to access it is to update the ledger nano x with a pc or Mac. The update does not work on an iPhone. The Ethereum app on my ledger stopped working without any prior warnings. Without that impossible update I have absolutely no access to my funds.
I am traveling in remote places of this world. Even if I’d find a person with a Mac or pc, id have to trust a random stranger’s computer with that update and I was told I would need my Pass-phrases for that update because my ledger would probably reset. This is absolutely unbelievable. Pass-phrases are for emergency only and not for regular access to my funds.
I demand Ledger makes the updated version of the Ethereum app available for their initial Firmware of the ledger nano x. You can’t just offer something and then render it obsolete without any warning.
Under current conditions I suggest everyone distance themselves from this product as fast as they can and find a reliable alternative.

Ledger Live and Nano S: Lost control of assets while value declined 52%

2022-06-23

I Ledger Live which is the software to control a new Ledger Nano S device I bought. I transferred my assets, BTC, BCH, ETH, and XRP. In early March 2020, foreseeing the eminent crash of the crypto markets due to COVID-19, I transferred my assets to an exchange in order to liquidate them. Ledger Live would encounter an error whenever I tried to transfer assets out of the BCH wallet, so I was unable to withdraw the assets. I contacted customer support on March 6. I didn’t hear back from them until March 25. In that period BCH had lost a bit more that 52% of its value. The one and only reason that I suffered those losses was because of Ledger, their software and their device.

It was of course no surprise that customer support said that was a bug that had been fixed in version 2.0.1 of Ledger Live, that had been released on March 23 and that if that didn’t work they suggested updating the apps for all wallets on the device. Also it was no surprise that their solution did not work.

If you want to lose access to your assets you are looking at the right company. In my case that led to a loss of 52% in asset value between the time that I reported the issue and the time I got a response from customer support - which still has not resolved the issue.

Dongle delivered DOA from Ledger, total run around

2022-07-24

Their support is email only and they ask you to make a video as you attempt to follow their instructions to resolve your problem. Not a business model i want to support. iPhone 13 pro with iOS 15.3.1 will not recognize the device, website instructions advise to use Windows app to update firmware, website diagnostics and firmware instructions do not match their Windows app, even the Windows app does not validate this as a Nano X which was purchased directly from Ledger. Their instructions eventually suggest trying a different phone, ridiculous. Buyer beware, can not recommend, i feel certain that i will never get my money back.

BTC, XRP assets transferred out of my wallet without my permission!

2022-08-25

All my Bitcoin was transferred out of the wallet twice, the second time taking all my XRP with it at the same time. I contacted Ledger customer service, and was told it was impossible, unless someone had access to my private keys. Well, no one did. Yet it happened twice. I bought BTC when the market dropped it at the beginning of the pandemic. It has more than doubled since then. No advantage to me, as all my BTC was taken. It was very frustrating to be told something was impossible, when it clearly occurred, and I had transaction data records. I am a buy and hold investor, and this was very frustrating. I have used other places to store my crypto subsequently, with theoretically less security than a hard wallet, and had NO problems. It makes no sense. Avoid LedgerLive and hardware.

Bluetooth does not work

2022-09-26

I just upgraded to Nano X and after 2.5 hrs of trying to connect the device via Bluetooth, I give up. The device will not pair on iPad 2, iPad 11 proof iPhone X Max. I spent $119 on this piece of junk so that I do not have to use desktop and it was money wasted. Their support tutorials - no live support is available—tell you to “forget the device” in settings (as if I hadn’t tried it already more than 10 times), reinstalling, etc., in other words, simplistic stuff that everyone would already do on their own. Do not buy the Nano X if you plan on using with Bluetooth. It does not work. I don’t know what I regret more, wasting my time or money, probably both equally. Trezor, here I come.

Make sure it supports your crypto

2022-10-27

I purchased the leger nano x because it said it supported my crypto. However I didn’t realize that the nano and the live app were too different things. Leger live doesn’t support anywhere near the amount of cryptos that the nano does so you have to use another application to manage your crypto. So now I’m stuck managing my crypto only from my computer on metamask. The live application is virtually useless because I can’t see all of my balances in it.

I’m giving this application one star because it should be more tightly integrated with the nano x. I believe the company purposely obscures this fact because they want to sell more nano x devices while leaving the development of the leger live app stagnant.

Fix your header

2022-11-28

Please add some margin below your header. Cannot click close or portfolio holdings because the cards are running into the headers. Unless I use my fingers to drag down and quickly click and hope I get to click on it. I don’t think UX team wanted this way.

Also why am I paying a fee for my stake rewards into my own address? Why are you making me do this? I do not see others doing this.

Update: trying to send eth, your app immediately close out the transaction details and I couldn’t even get a chance to see. I couldn’t even check again after it was submitted. It never showed up on the dashboard either. The numbers kept changing from original to net sent amount. This is so scary.

Computer only firmwre update on NanoX?? Bluetooth broken

2022-12-29

Recently I’ve tried adding my NanoX to a new apple device and I’m immediately prompted for a firmware update. Ok cool… except suddenly my phone won’t pair with my wallet anymore nor with my new iPad and I’m made aware that I must do a firmware update using
“My Computer”. Well that would be fine and dandy if I had a computer. Well………… I do not.…………I opted for a NanoX and happily spent the extra $60-$70 because of the fact that I could use my phone directly with out a computer to access my crypto. I’d like to add that It set up perfectly and with ease on my phone when I first got this fancy dancy whoop whoop Bluetooth doo-hickey wallet that was the supposed Cadillac of crypto hardware wallets! There was no need for a Mac or computer. So I’m really feeling the burn of a pointless feature sold under the premise of convenience utilizing Bluetooth technology that now can’t function without another device I didn’t intend on needing. . The ironic part is that the firmware description online for this 2.0 firmware update boasts about easier onboarding and ease of use for new users. So do those of us a favor that have zero need for a computer and live off our phones and tablets in these technology advanced times. Find a work around or be VERY VERY BLUNT… when advertising for the X that a computer will be necessary to access your funds at some point.

Please fix this bug!!!!

2023-01-30

PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!!!!! I've contacted support, but it's been a week, and I haven't got a response yet! I've added token accounts to the ledger, so when I buy them and have the tokens sent from another exchange, the account is already there. In the settings, you can enable the ledger to hide empty tokens, which I have, and it says to long-press to hide them, but it doesn't work!!!! Trying to hide the empty token accounts on the desktop app on the Mac doesn't work either. I thought it may have been fixed in the update y’all JUST released (2.21.2) but nope still doesn’t work. Why even offer a feature that doesn’t even work? Please fix this bug!!!!!!

Ledger Not Live

2023-03-03

LedgerLive has a clean design (but needs a dark mode), and 50% of the time the currency values are delayed or do not update. In rare occasions clearing the cache works but most of the time it does not. You will need to use a 3rd party app to track your portfolio in actual “real-time”. It’s sad that they haven’t been able to fix this. This issue with values not updating has existed for well over a year and it basically makes LedgerLive pointless to use half the time unless you forget how much crypto you own or need to make a transfer. The actual Ledger cold storage hardware wallet is great and I’ve had zero issues with it but the Ledger Live software should be called Ledger Not Live.

Secure but clunky navigation

2023-04-01

Been using my Nano X for two weeks now, installed on both my iPhone 11 Pro and two-year-old laptop. I do agree storing your keys in network detached devices such as the Nano X is the most secured option, but the HOME screen reflects your transfer history and not your current holdings. The latter is on a secondary tab but it refuses to refresh to the latest prices and is stuck at earlier ones. Tried clearing cache to no avail. Also, swapping coins is impossible for U.S. users, and transferring some coins back to the exchange took 3 hours! My window of opportunity is gone!

Not updating balance

2023-05-03

Crypto is very volatile especially as of late. It is rlly annoying that the balance is not updating. I feel like I should not have to sacrifice functionality for security and security is the only reason I use this service. I had my money in exodus and it always keeps the current values updated. I like knowing exactly how much I have. The true value of my crypto is over $1000 more than what my ledger account shows and that is a big deal to me.

My honest review

2023-06-03

Great security, although, I do have 2 minor annoying problems with the ledger live interface that has been going on for the past year. The first being the yearly graph in the interface seems to be showing spikes in price at around the first of every month that doesn’t ever seem to get fixed. And second, the value shown in ledger live isn’t always correct, and it takes some time to update if you don’t reset it. Other than those two issues, i love the interface and will still continue to use ledger live with my ledger nano x.

Decent BUT staking needs help

2023-07-05

Like the UI. Staking needs help! There is very limited info on the validators listed to help make decisions and once you do stake, there’s no simple UI for each coin that says what is earned. Cosmos says what was warned fairly clear but I have no idea for Polkadot and others. That is pretty basic! We want to see what we are earning. Please make these adjustments! That is one thing Exodus does much better. Simple info.

Also, please offer a dark mode on LedgerLive . The all white is harsh at nighttime.

Getting there and works with ledger well. Just needs refinement for sure.

Enjoy the app. UI could use alittle work imo

2023-08-05

Title says it all, app does what it needs to do & it does it great, I just wish it was alittle ✨prettier✨. For example, I wish the price graphs were alittle more detailed with real time updates. I also wish it was a little easier to view the price for a specific currency, I often find myself digging for a second to find that info when it should be right there. I also ran into issues with purchasing currency from LedgerLive but that’s really no problem.

Overall LedgerLive is amazing I’m just picky lol. 9.5/10

Not too shabby.

2023-09-06

Used a lot of wallets, this is my first cold storage. Really enjoy the simplistic UI. Super easy to navigate and to easily let others understand, although it takes some adjusting for beginners. I’d like to see a more in depth explanation about ERC tokens though. And a constant address checker. Like how papa Johns remembers my address every time. I still enjoy verifying address. But a small hint telling me on screen with a check mark which addresses have been verified previously for when I don’t have my device would be nice. Also, the portfolio function is great. Love the look. But would also like to see a side button that would allow to see only the gains of the entire portfolio. That’s something I really enjoyed about exchanges such as robinhood. Other than that. Great app, great device, most reviews I see are complaining about things that are easily avoidable, but it’s hard to know every bit of how to do it because it’s very little hand holding, which has its perks. I wouldn’t mind seeing ledger live also launching with a quick intro on how to use addresses correctly, lending tutorials and explanations, and the most common mishaps. Be safe, buy dips, and happy crypto season!

Best cold storage on earth.

2023-10-08

Ledger developed the best User Interface on earth. And it’s constantly being improved. I think it’s crazy people will actually use soft wallets that take control of your keys. Not with Ledger, not only do you have absolute full control of your keys but multiple methods to enjoy moving crypto using their platforms.

It’s just fun fun fun! Think of it like taking a vacation to some beautiful island owning your freedom being in control on sandy beach without any fears, worries or banking systems. Can you see it in your mind? On your phone being in that first generation to participate how we’d change payments. Your keys, your very own beautifully design wallet on an iPhone or MacBook sipping a cool drink trading around the world. You own it, it’s completely yours, a truly bank that never closes, that never experiences bank run, impossible to collapse, nobody to abuse power leaving you destitute. This is how I feel every time I login into my Ledger. It belongs to me, it’s my bank.

Fifth star will come when developers update app to fit my iPad in landscape.

Excellent hardware wallet solution

2023-11-08

Ledger Live is a great companion to my Nano X. The bluetooth connection and navigation are quick, and the included instructions are dead simple to follow. I appreciate the ability to add all of the crypto tokens I hold. You can add up to 100 but I only have the need for 6 so far.

There is a desktop app available as well. Syncing your accounts between these apps is flawless and only has to be done once. Really cool to see how my portfolio of all my crypto performs together too.

You can’t truly own crypto unless you hold your wallet’s private keys—and this hardware wallet/app combo is the best way to do it.

Would like to see some new features

2023-12-10

The security of this hardware wallet is great. And its software is easy to use. The Ledger Live app looks also really good. But I would like to see some features, here’s my list:

- Bitpay Payment Protocol integration.
- Transactions Memo (custom description for each transaction) (and display it in the transaction row (without having to click the transaction to see the memo)) (look how Bitpay or Exodus does it).
- Daily option for the charts.
- ‘All’ option for the charts (starting from the first transaction).
- Double finger touch and hold on charts to see $ and % change between that timelapse.
- Notifications when you receive money, and once it gets confirmed.
- Contact List (Name and Address of users)
- Improve Bluetooth connection speed (if possible).
- Be able to choose the Blockchain Explorer.
- iOS Widgets (btc price, cryptocurrencies price list, portfolio balance, etc).
- Display more information in transactions (amount when received/now, coin price when received/now, etc).
- Show info about cryptocurrency somewhere (price, chart, news, exchanges, pairs, detailed information, official website, etc).

Cold Storage Solution

2024-01-10

It is a nice complement to the hardware wallet. I had some concerns with network fees quoted when receiving BTC, however it would appear that those are combined for all transactions on the block. So my actual fee was what was quoted when sending.

Still, this should be made apparent in App. Also, there is a need for more Coins support as I would like specifically to store FIL and is currently not supported.

Keep improving and I’ll upgrade to whatever’s next.

Synchronizing prices way off

2024-12-18

Idk what it is about LedgerLive , maybe it’s because I have two wallets linked to it, but every time I view my coins value they are always way off. Same thing happens with my desktop app. For instance if the current value of my coins is 500 usd, it’ll show it at 300 or some other random number. But when you click on accounts tab and view it that way it shows the correct value under your current count of coins. There have been times where I’ll hit synchronize and it’ll be correct, hit it again moments later, the value drops way down, and then you hit it again it goes back to the correct amount.

Transfer and display issue

2024-12-18

Transferred from coinbase to ledger with no problem .... tried to transfer some of my btc back to coinbase and LedgerLive shows I trnansferred all of it which I didn’t. Went to the application on my laptop and shows the correct amount. For some reason LedgerLive does not display the correct amount when transferring btc

Limited Live Coins App

2024-12-18

Hi all, the Ledger Live chose specific coins that can only be used on their Live App i.e.cellphone and desktop. For example, cardano, Tron and Stellar etc...are only available on the Ledger Nano X as well as many others. It’s disappointing because this company is playing favoritism to a selected few. I saw coins on their Live app/ desktop that I’ve never heard before. Pay to Play is NOT fair. Great companies and people get the short end of the stick. It just makes you wonder, why couldn’t you do the right thing ?

Great, but..

2024-12-18

Hey great app, very useful btw, but I have to make a suggestion, when showing the account balance you should include the ETH tokens like USDT, because I have to use an external portfolio app just because of that, I can’t get accurate management of my funds and that should be easy for you guys, seeing everything you have done so far 😉

Please allow exporting if accounts to a desktop client

2024-12-18

Overall pretty okay. Tons and tons of sync issues but overall I’m happy. Please add the ability to export accounts from phone to another device. Very difficult to keep things in sync with older Nano S’s and Ledger X accounts added via mobile. Thank you

Very limited app support

2024-12-18

The problem is that there is vey limited app support. Updates are slow to come, I hope ledger will continue to add features others already. Kind of frustrating.

when iPad version? + it crashes on iPhone 5 iOS 10.3.3

2024-12-18

This is super awesome. Hope you guys will make it tablet friendly also!

LedgerLive crashes at launch when trying to open on iPhone 5, iOS 10.3.3

All Issues Fixed

2024-12-18

Scroll through the reviews and you’ll find many refer to issues with Bluetooth, Face ID, syncing desktop to mobile, etc.

I experienced all of these issues too. Back in June 2019 I actually put my Nano X back in its box because I was so frustrated with it.

A few months later, I gave it another try and have found everything to work very smoothly. I am very happy with the Nano X device, the desktop app, and the mobile app.

Amazing intuitive and easy to use

2024-12-18

If you’re a fan of the ledger wallets and use the Ledger Live desktop app, than you absolutely want to check this out for your mobile device.

Not only is all account/wallet data synchronized, but the interface is intuitive, easy to use and pleasant on the eyes. The only thing I’d add is a potential to have other “themes” or at least a dark theme.

All in all, Ledger did very well with putting this together!

Love it But...

2024-12-18

Needs to allow the "nano X" to install more crypto wallets(like the btc or xrp wallet) to make for an easier and more user friendly experience. Also, the "nano S" should allow more than 3 different crypto currencies. Also a more detailed, step by step, instruction manual included with the devices would be a huge benefit to todays average non-tech savvy users to follow and refer back too. Everything else is great! Love what the company does keep up the great work!

An Amazing Application!

2024-12-18

I have had an amazing time using LedgerLive to manage and Organize my portfolio. My only hope is that an iPad version would be available! I know the future is bright for this platform!

Masterpiece wallet

2024-12-18

Best wallet for crypto but only one missing option , when i want to send for example btc to an address there is no send max amount and always small amount stays in wallet, please add send all or send max amount.

Easy and Intuitive

2024-12-18

LedgerLive is pretty dang good. Esthetically very pleasing. I wish the portfolio could display daily changes. I wish there was a today center widget that showed my current value

So easy and helpful!

2024-12-18

By far one of the best apps I’ve used in 2019. If you are involved with cryptocurrencies you need LedgerLive.

Great UI, little to no bugs, easy to use, and all around great app.

Plus it’s free! Give it a try.
