    Love Roots! App could use a couple refinements

    The food is great and super customizable so that speaks for itself, but occasionally there will be a glitch in the system that prevents ordering entirely (for example, I couldn’t do a mobile order at all this past weekend because of the “error with the servers” messages). Also, sometimes when I go to pick up a couple minutes after my set order time, the order number will be mysteriously gone from the app so I need to check my email for the receipt to get the right order number. That’s no big deal, but just a small inconvenience. Anyways, Roots itself is great and v worth it

    Great food, decent app

    Overall a good experience, but room for a few improvements. The pickup location screen could be more intuitive. The email and credit card entry would be improved if they leveraged the iOS auto-fill capabilities would reduce onboarding friction. Also, being able to see your past orders or at least your current order number in the app after ordering would be very helpful.

    App could be better

    The app does the job but why can’t we sync our rewards to it? I had Roots rewards with an established email/credit card before the app. Download the app, thinking it would be an easy way to keep an update on my points/rewards, but developers have yet to get that far. I was told I didn’t have an account and had to sign up for another one. That’s fine, but it would make more sense to have my accounts in sync by using my email/cc on file prior to the app. I’m sure I’m not the only one waiting for the app to start expanding into the reward system vs just mobile orders. Hopefully it’s in the works!

    App experience

    This was my first my experience ordering from this restaurant. I was extraordinarily frustrated I was forced to download an application instead of being able to talk to somebody on the phone to make my order. Really? You really can’t pick up the phone? You are too busy to answer a call from your customer? You do realize that the customer is what drives your business? You want to make it easy for your customer to order from you. More importantly, you want to make it easy for them to give you money. Since it’s my first time with your restaurant, I’m really hoping that your food is better than your online experience. You really should rethink your business model if you want to expand your business base. Just saying…

    Great food. Terrible app

    The food here is wonderful. Unfortunately, the app is awful. In the rare occasion that the app recognizes the Roots location near me, and allows me to place an order, the process of picking it up is convoluted and downright frustrating. Each time I’ve managed to get an order placed, I find out that it is never ready on time. In fact, the last time I went there, I had to stand there for several minutes until an employee asked me what I ordered. Essentially, it was the equivalent of waiting in line. I would not recommend using the app until they make it more reliable and implement a system in the restaurant that ensures the order is prepared on time. At this point, you’re better off waiting in line.

    Great food, app... needs work

    Let me start by saying that you should get this app - it’s great to be able to breeze in and grab your food - so much better than waiting in line! Lots of UI problems here - no order history/reorder button; the app doesn’t remember your name so you have to reenter it every time, when there’s an error (pickup time slot filled) you have to manually click back to the beginning screen, then redo the order. These issues DO make me worry about credit card security, though - given the other issues, it’s hard to believe there’s nothing wrong there.

    Love the food, app is not intuitive

    Food is outstanding and I love the ease of ordering and then picking up without even parking! But, online does not mention availability of an App, that is just word of mouth. Also, the app leaves a little left out - when going “back” it deletes anything previously entered. Also, at the end, you see a place for Name: and I assumed it was the title/category for my email/name, not an input box. Will keep using, but hope it will be improved.

    App works effortlessly except for one minor bug

    One of my favorite restaurants ever and so excited to order online for pickup. The app is super user friendly with an intuitive interface which is super simple to use. Only feature that was slightly annoying was there is no way to remove a bowl if you add it to your order unless you go back and restart. Otherwise easy to customize bowls and place orders.

    Love the convenience

    I love that I can order roots via the app and have it delivered to my work for lunch! It’s so convenient. I wish there was a way to use a gift card when ordering through the app though. Also it would help if you could go back without completely have to start your order over if you decide you want to add another bowl. Overall I love Roots and having the app is great :)

    No gift card option

    Super annoying that I have to go wait in line at the store because there’s no option to pay with a gift card on their app. also think it’s pretty bad customer service that the restaurant wouldn’t make an exception for me by ordering over the phone and paying in person with the gift card. Made what’s supposed to be an efficient dinner purchase into a total waste of time by downloading the app, taking the time to place my order, having to call the restaurant and then being told I have to come stand in line after all.

    Missing One Thing!

    I love Roots! I love that they delivery to my hospital in Virginia! #thankyou. The one thing this app is missing is tracking!!! Sometimes getting off the unit requires timing and if delivery is running a little behind, you can’t tell if it’s 5 minutes away or 15 minutes if you place the order directly via the app. Just wondering if it could be included for the scheduled delivery times of 11a, 1pm and 6pm.

    Needs a Giftcard Payment Option

    I received a giftcard for my birthday to Roots. I was excited to get the app the build up points, as well as have more accessibility to ordering. When I went to pay, there’s only the option to pay with a credit card. Adding this option would be a great improvement to the app.

    Love Roots, app is too simple.

    I love Roots! But the app is a little too simple. As someone else mentioned, there is no easy way to remove a bowl after adding it. I feel like the design of the app could be upgraded. Would also be nice if it provided updates when the delivery has left the store and is en route. The app works fine, but could definitely be better.

    It would be nice to talk to someone at the store

    I had a gift card on file with you guys that someone bought for me. The only way to place my order was to use a credit card, which tended the gift card useless. If I could have an option to speak with someone to place the order, I would have been more satisfied. However the app was really nice with all the options displayed

    Nice but some ordering problems.

    This app is great if you don’t order a custom bowl. However, there are some issues with picking ingredients with the custom bowl. In the store you can ask for half chicken and half mushrooms, but you can’t do that on the app. The app gets the job done but there’s room for improvement when it comes to customizing bowls.
