Order not going through! Slow wait times!

Just downloaded this for my first week of school. My school switched from Tapingo to this app, but I’d have to say Tapingo was way better! First of all, the order number on the receipt screen was way too small and located all the way at the bottom of my phone screen. It took me so long to figure out my order number! It should be big and at the top of the screen so that people can actually see it. Also, I’ve used Boost 3 times this week and two times out of three, my order never got printed out or never went through to the food service and I had to wait super long for my order before finally asking the cashier about my order. They had my order made right away because the first time it never went through. I’ve seen most of the people waiting in the actual line receive their food after just a couple minutes while I had to wait super long. I don’t know exactly how this system works, but It’s not “skipping the line” if your order doesn’t get put in the same “line” as the people who are physically there. Boost needs a lot of improvement and until then I won’t be using it anymore.

Do not get this App!!!!!

I really liked Boost at first and it was super convenient being at school and having classes. But then one day I tried to place an order on this app and it needed 15 min to make, I was placing my order at around 11:50 and needed it by 12 because my class started at 1230 but my order wouldn’t be ready until 12:15. So what, anyways about 2 weeks later I’m getting random $1 charges on my card so I ordered another one, I activated it and right when I connected this app to it about 2 mins later I was getting $1 charges again and had to order another card!!! Lastly, this past week this app has consistently charged me DOUBLE for each transaction I make using it, I have a designated card for this app bc I don’t care if someone tried to ‘hack’ into this one, but i usually don’t carry more than $30 on this card but it keeps charging me double or will even charge me for things I haven’t even bought. I am done with this app and highly suggest not wasting your time with it. I’d rather just stand in line :)

Do NOT trust

UPDATE: I have not used Boost in over a month and today an unauthorized “pending” charge showed up on my credit card again. Customer service stopped responding to my previous tickets so I opened another one. Based on the other reviews I’m not the only one with this issue. Don’ttrust Boost with your financial info!

————————-

Seemed like a convenient idea but the orders don’t go through consistently. I’ve placed orders then had to re-order at the counter because Boost never sent the order to the restaurant. Defeats the purpose of using Boost ! They never responded to the ticket I opened for that issue.

I also had the issue of double and triple charges for the same order and got the “it’s a pre-authorization” scripted response from customer support that everyone else seems to be getting. I understand pending charges, but Boost is the only vendor I’ve ever used that puts multiple pending charges on my card for a single order. It’s not a $1 hold like some places do, it’s literally three separate pending charges for the full amount of your order each time. Sure, they drop off eventually, but why is this app the only vendor doing this? I sent screen shots of the multiple pending charges because apparently the customer service rep didn’t believe me. And he never responded after I sent the proof.

Now they won’t even respond to my requests to close my account. Don’t waste your time or money.

Horrible Customer Care Service

This is honestly the worst most basic app there is. I used it three times, the first time it was useful, as I was able to skip an entire line. But, the second time I used it I wanted to order my lunch and have it ready once I got there (I needed to go to work right afterwards). Not only did they charge me TWICE, they also did not have my order ready even after I ordered it 15+ mins before hand. I was late for work trying to dispute the second charge with a worker that handles this app (it took over 30 mins) until I finally received a refund in cash. I decided to give it a second chance today and I will never make that mistake again. They charged me twice yet again! But this time the workers told me I could do nothing but contact Boost . And the customer care is infamous for replying DAYS LATE. It is honestly not worth the hassle and the money. Don’t use. I still haven’t received a response nor a refund.

Horrible.

My school uses Boost and it’s completely crap. First of all, there is no costuming the food to the way you like it. And They don’t put everything on the menu and the time slots are not accurate, I’ll schedule to pick up food for after my class and most of the time the food will be ready way before my pickup time. (I get cold food) Boost is not guarantied to always be working. (so I can’t get food until it’s back up and running) And every time I go to check out I have to search for the SAME payment method EVERY-TIME. I don’t know what a board meal is but it’s always set to use that. It’s just irritating to spend an extra 5 minutes on the stupid app just to find the correct payment method. So many stupid flaws in Boost. Make it more user friendly. AND PUT ALL THE ITEMS ON Boost !!!!!!!!!!

Won’t let me add payment method

Today I tried pre-ordering food and when it was time to enter my payment method, I tried entering in my campus card to use flex dollars. Literally every time I entered my email and card number, a little window popped up saying “Unable to Add”. I tried this a few times, then I tried contacting support through Boost . I asked them why it was happening and I even sent a screenshot of the window that kept popping up and I still haven’t received a response from support. I have to order this food and I have plenty of flex dollars to do so, so it doesn’t make sense as to why Boost is “unable to add” my payment method. Also, support needs to answer my question. They said that if a response was needed they would respond quickly and I still haven’t received a response.

Issues as a College Student

Boost was great for the first few times Ive used it and It’s not bad. However, Boost is very clunkly in the sense that although everything is quite simple and intuitive, NONE OF IT WORKS. I keep running into this issue where I cant switch my payment option from campus cash to my personal card, and whenever I’m prompted to select the payment, it never really follows through and doesnt register the input. The amount of times ive done “Manage Payment-Wallet-Card ending in ****” only for it to go straight back to the Manage payment screen with nothing fully registered is annoying and quite frankly disappointing for an app meant for convenience.

By

Alright So, As a College Student

Boost is irritating. There’s no way to cancel orders once placed. Boost isn’t working in the store I ordered from, the store wouldn’t make my order, and I couldn’t get a refund on the order and it was marked as completed. So I spent nearly $9 on food I didn’t get. Customer service is nearly non-existent and to get the refund I have to share personal information over e-mail and I might not get the refund for a week or more as it takes 15-30 days for a refund. That’s ridiculous. I’m a college student just trying to get my money’s worth. I also have higher expectations because my university used Tapingo before and that was more reliable than Boost.

Order went through a closed location!

It is my first time, I write a review for an app, since I had my worst experience on Boost. I used Boost for ordering before going to the location (Ordering ahead: One of benefits of Boost) ! When I arrived to the location, I saw the location is closed. I surprised that Boost does not have a feature for canceling the order even it has not been accepted by the restaurant! I surprised even more when I saw the day after that my order went through the day after it. I think these bugs in Boost is enough for apple remove it from AppStore.

App is whatever

Ordering food on Boost is basic, nothing amazing or making anything super convenient. However, the contactless pay option where you just check in to a reader, grab what you want and leave could be cool IF there weren’t three employees standing by the door harassing you. I’d rather deal with one check out person, or even a line at self checkout than the bombardment at the door. I prefer not to shop at that location on my campus now when it was my favorite spot.

App charged me when the business was closed

Placed an order and went to the business only to find it was closed. What’s worse, my refund request has been ignored for a week. I finally had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge.

Even my attempts to contact the developers receive no response. I can’t help wondering what’s going on, since fraudulent charges are serious stuff. You’d think they’d want to resolve it.

Boost is also missing basic features like letting you save your orders. Every single time I went in, I had to recreate my burrito order. I’m done.

Satisfied

App is great to cut lines or at least not stand in them for long. Would like to see more product customization for Chick-fil-A and Panda Express at the University of Houston. Also many people have Cash App cards and they are not accepted by this app. Students can send each other money through Cash App and help each other get food in advance being able to use their Cash App cards.

By

Useless app for the University of Houston

Every time I use this app I always end up waiting in a line anyways because the orders are never ready when Boost says that they are. Today the longer line at Panda Express moved faster and people got their food before customers in the this app line. After all of this Panda Express got the order wrong and now I have to go through this app’s sub par customer service to get my money back. I will be deleting Boost and my this app account once I get my refund.

THIS IS THEFT- AVOID THIS APP

I began using Boost when a friend told me about it, and it was really helpful in saving me time because I could just ore order my food. However, when I checked my bank account, I saw that it had CHARGED ME TWICE for every single order I had placed (I had placed around 6 orders in the preceding days, so it added up to a lot of money). I emailed them explaining the situation, but I did not get a response. What these developers are doing is theft, and this is not okay. Unless you want to be stolen from, do not download Boost.

Some glitches but alright

I got Boost the other day to pick up Starbucks on my campus and it’s been working just okay. Every so often Boost just closes and sometimes it buffers for just a minute. Otherwise it’s worked well for me.

Love it!!

Not only has Boost saved my day several times by helping me move on with my day quickly, but now it’s offering discounts, promotions, and (temporarily) little chocolates when you use it! this app, thanks for being awesome. And partnering up with Awake? Pretty clever.

By

Tapingo was better.

The system is slow and inaccurate. The estimated time for pick-up always end up being an extra 20 minute wait and I end up waiting in the pick-up area way too early. Also, it sometimes does not notify you when your food is ready... I got a notification for an order 45 minutes after I had already picked it up. I hope my school switches back to Tapingo because it’s kind of ridiculous.

Wonderful!

Wish I had started using this sooner, allows you to grab a coffee or something super quick in between or before classes!

When will the basic features work?

I select a location that allows a “meal transfer” option, and after selecting my order, it won’t allow me to apply a transfer meal.

I’ve tried every on campus location that offers the meal transfer option and it’s all the same.

Good at first

Made a few orders on campus. Worked to skip lines, however now all of a sudden it says something went wrong, resubmit form. So disappointed. Went out of my way to delete and reinstall app too. I’m very disappointed. Hope this is fixed.
Not only this, but it also charges me twice. FIX IT

Pretty Good App

I think if y’all found a way to incorporate meal exchanges that would be great. Other than that I love it

Worst Customer Service

Boost is ridiculous. Yes it is super convenient to order ahead but it is really ANNOYING to keep getting charged TWICE. This has happened to me 3 times already. I contact them and I don’t a get response until a week or 2 weeks later. I am not surprise though, when it comes to returning someone’s money that’s usually the case.

App doesn’t work and customer service no help

Boost worked for me once at Northeastern University but got double charged. Tried to use it again and no vendors work... “oops! Your order could not be processed.” Would be a great idea if it worked. Contacted customer support and they only told me to make sure I was on the newest version of Boost , with no other help.

Slow, error-prone, better apps out there

Orders tend to be slow, if received at all. Estimated time is always way off. No real time notification that order is ready when it eventually is. Other alternative apps are much better and more reliable and don’t charge a service fee.
