Update: if you read the review before, many of these items have since been addressed. While it took a long time, I am now extremely happy with the changes.

The major change that would help would be a change to the date selector to add the day &/or modify to select a date in a calendar format so that someone wouldn’t have to refer to the calendar on their phone to select a day. Kudos!

Old:
This review is to be constructive, and not destructive. This is a good start, but there are a lot of improvements that can be made.

1. Speed: when selecting any item, it loads very slowly. Menu is large display and could be shrunk.

2. "Today" is good, but it would be nice to switch users here.

3. Calendar: Can we have the events of the day selected load below instead of a new screen? I would like to be able to filter dates here too. Change user is slow here also.

4. Contacts: it shows "recents", but never updates after a search. We would like to quickly add a contact/prospect in the menu function and/or in "Contact" section. When going into a contact, seeing more details (holdings) in Accounts would be nice. Note comments are good, but would be better if they loaded below and flowed rather than in another screen. Activities are not loading at all.

5. Search with criteria would be greatly appreciated.

6. Adding an activity no longer syncs with iPhone calendars.

RedtailCRM with some changes can easily be a 5 star app, but it is a good start.

Continued updates but simple things still don’t work…

I have received notifications several times in the last month that require me to do an update to my Redtail CRM app on my iPhone/iPad. One of the basic functionalities of RedtailCRM has not been working properly for months now yet the “updates” still aren’t addressing it so I don’t know if it’s because people no one is notifying you or whether it’s just being ignored? When I log in on RedtailCRM & the summary of my calendar comes up there is a small calendar icon and a “+” symbol in the bottom right corner. PREVIOUSLY when I would tap on the calendar icon it would take me directly to my calendar so I could see it but now I repeatedly press on it and nothing happens.

Nice improvements in the recent update but still lacking as an app

Definitely an improvement but still has opportunities. Face ID was used in the update video but I can’t find a setting where I can enable it (it is enabled in my iPhone’s general settings but I don’t see it in RedtailCRM itself). I also wish you’d include an About menu that would show the current version being used, as well as a Check for Updates button. Also, I wish that filters could be applied when searching for a specific group of contacts. The developers need to step up their game because there are other excellent CRMs out there that also integrate with our various systems but have superior mobile apps. Keep improving, and we’ll stick around.

Recent improvements going in the right direction

I like your recent improvements. They make my Redtail app experience more enjoyable and I now find myself using RedtailCRM more. Integrations with Calendly and Doodle would be a big boost. I’d like to know I can run more and more of my business from my iPhone. Keep it up!

We use Redtail everyday

Have been using Redtail for ~4 years. For the cost it is the best CRM around. Salesforce is not worth 10x-20x the cost of you have employees. They continue to make improvements. We like the new “snipit” copy and paste ability for notes. Way better than say 6months ago.

By

Redtail is amazing

We likely only use half of the features in our office and red tail is the central nervous system for our entire business. I highly recommend using redtail as your CRM if you are in the financial services business.

By

Great CRM with 2 major needs

RedtailCRM is extremely easy to use. I love being able to add tasks and opportunities on the fly for myself and team members.
I wish the opportunities had a Kanban view like Salesforce. Also, doesn’t integrate well with Zimbra Calendar even though that’s who Redtail uses for email archiving.

Allows most functionality of full version

Very good app and even better full office desktop version CRM. My only complaint with RedtailCRM is the slow loading.

By

Excellent

Works great. Much improved over the last version. Finally matches the intuitive function of the website. Great tool for my business.

By

New Format of App Rocks!

The new format is far more intuitive and incorporates some of the recommended benefits I mentioned to their team. Much easier to enter data, notes and other matters from my iPhone.

Thanks, Redtail Team!

By

Much better update!

The July 2020 release is an excellent move forward. Developers, I congratulate you on making RedtailCRM work quickly and give a lot more information.

By

Changing calendar

I think it’s fairly easy and intuitive to move things around.

By

Def improvement but needs more

Need to be able to search and sort opportunities and/or up opportunities by contact.

When I view the description of an activity on iPhone, it has the html source coding rather than plain text. It makes it impossible to read.

By

Can’t see my calendar of activities

This has been occurring for the past 1-2 months and it’s very frustrating. It makes it difficult to prepare for the upcoming day. I have been a user for almost 10 years and I have never been so frustrated.

By

Great since the update!

The new update as of a couple of days ago resolved all my issues I'm so glad they gave it the time it needed to make it better. Thanks Redtail!

By

Experience with Redtail

I really like the functionality, especially the ability to use Siri to dictate notes

By

Redtail is still the best

The newest updates made RedtailCRM way more user friendly. Keep it going!

By

Past events

It would be nice to be able to look back on RedtailCRM in the calendar and not just forward.

By

Great App!

Recent updates make it sooo much more functional. Ties in perfectly with my desktop. I use it all the time.

By

Convenience at your finger tips

The RedTail app allows access to my CRM when on the go and not at my computer.

Miserable

This Ap has been miserable for a long time. I rarely use it except to check my schedule in the event that I forgot to check it before I left work. Adding appointment is clunky. Looking at other employees schedules is about 4 more clicks than it should be. The appointments take forever to load the information. But that’s not even the worst part. the Ap now started doing this thing every few days where it refuses to even let me log in. I can usually use my fingerprint, but that option randomly goes away sometimes. So I have to type in my real password. That would be totally fine...except it won’t take my password. I’ll try for like 2 or 3 days before it randomly accepts it. Then, 2 or 3 days later it kicks me out again. Yes...I’m using my correct password.

What’s the point of using an Ap that won’t work?

Unfortunately for me, Redtail knows that I can’t move my CRM. It would WAY too much work. Please please do yourselves a favor and avoid redtail. Worst decision we made as an office.

By

Improved

Redtail has improved RedtailCRM and I am grateful. There’s still a ways to go but this is so much easier than logging in every time on safari with my iPhone. Thank you and keep improving! You are on the right track. I access my phone schedule and contacts 80% of the time and laptop 20% of the time.

Redtail, please invest much more into RedtailCRM, it’s your future.

By

What happened to fingerprint login

Was finding the feature incredibly useful for viewing and managing my schedule while mobile. Then it just went away and RedtailCRM is much less useable now. Oh, and still need to add weekly view to mobile schedule on app. Otherwise this version is better than previous RT apps

By

Use it for simple things

I don’t see why RedtailCRM is getting so much hate. It is good for the simple things. Checking a contact, or simple information. Looking up scheduling and whatnot. Just don’t run your practice on RedtailCRM. It would be a disaster. My advice: keep it for simple purposes. Still needs some upgrading but I can manage fine.

By

There And Gone

I had the Mobil version which looked like my computer version. All of a sudden I could no longer see my appointments. Thinking maybe there was an update I downloaded it again. This new version is awful.

By

Awful

I finally figured out why my I phone 6 was almost non functioning. All I did was delete RedtailCRM. I rely on RedtailCRM to get my job done but 1) it really messed up my phone and 2) RedtailCRM is so basic it's almost not worth it. This company should get serious. Maybe they are waiting for someone with $ to acquire them so that can make some real improvements.

By

Works Good

This works great for checking my schedule at home to start the day and making small edits. Good to pull up appointments or client contact information.

By

So little cross functionality

I’m sitting here wondering how they show this nice interface on their front-facing webpage of Redtail on an iPad and in reality it looks nothing like that. So poorly designed. It allows almost zero formatting in notes, can’t use bullet points, takes my input and makes a mash of words. So very disappointing for those of us that are mobile users...

By

Works for me

I use it everyday for my calendar. I view, edit, and add activities. I use it to find client info and occasionally add notes. Does a great job for what I need.

By

Lazy effort

It is like they made this so they could say “yes, we have an app”. Weak design and layout. Functional but a lot of room for improvement.

By

Disappointing

We migrated to Redtail about a year ago and are wondering if we made the right decision. RedtailCRM hasn’t been updated in a year. Features are limited and primitive in functionality. The web version is the same. They are glacial in their speed to fully develop RedtailCRM.

By

Just awful...

There are too many things wrong with RedtailCRM to explain. About 75% of what is in the desktop version is NOT available in RedtailCRM . That makes no sense. We like the CRM but with the world being mobile, why is RedtailCRM so bad? Please, please invest some time and money into RedtailCRM.

By

Not User Friendly

I would love to see RedtailCRM have more. It is very hard to contact clients currently. A simple contact list link on the main page would be very helpful. Right now you need to physically type in the contact name in order to populate.

By

Omg

How is it possible RedtailCRM can be so bad for so long. If your app is a two star rating I would think that’s enough feedback to hear, fix this now! What are they thinking. Completely useless when checking schedules without wifi.

The Desktop version seems to be fine. The APP is useless to my advisors. The calendar takes SO long to load that by the time they get it, they literally could miss an apppointment. We clocked one calendar on a new android phone at over 6 minutes to load. It just sat there and frze the phone's other functions as well. TERRIBLE experience.

I have been a customer of Redtail for both CRM and hosted email for more than a decade. I don't know if it is a coincidence, but since Redtail was acquired by Riskalyze the customer experience with Redtail has fallen off a cliff. My experience with Redtail hosted email has gotten to the point where Redtail is proactively harming my financial planning practice by blocking important client communications without notifying me. As an example, a series of important emails from my account manager with Adviser Websites were completely blocked. I would not have known were it not for a screen-sharing call with AW where I saw the messages that were sent but never received. Redtail acknowledged that they were blocked at the gateway because of malware concerns. The messages were completely innocuous with no malware. I have no idea how many more client/vendor emails were blocked. At the same time, Redtail completely floods my inbox with Spam every day and tells me it is my job to manually enter all of the thousands of crapmail email addresses that I want to be blocked. Redtail has become an absolutely horrible company. I am working to find a way to extricate myself. My recommendation - AVOID
