I am honestly never really write reviews before but MOHELA and their website is absolutely horrendous. Nothing loads and I can’t access important information. I would never take a loan out with them again !

Any information, bank account, password…nothing saves as it’s supposed to. I keep needing to re-enter everything. It’s annoying.

I was recently transferred from Fedloan. I have found that Mejia has nothing but clunky and difficult to use. I have also found their customer service to be lacking. I wish that I could give zero stars.

I don't understand.. Is the 'Remember Me' & 'Face ID' just a decoration? What's the point of having those options if MOHELA doesn't even remember your login info...? It's the end of 2021 & you're telling me MOHELA STILL doesn't have Face ID down? Get it together please..
This is a payment app that fails at making payments because it deletes your bank account information. You have to link your bank account for every payment you want to make. I wonder if this only happens to people who are paying more than they should be paying.

The face recognition never works. App is very bare bones, so I only use it when I want to quickly check my balances and make sure my auto pay went through. Inconvenient when I can’t quickly log in.

I generally liked MOHELA when I was using it for my private loans through Sofi but recently my federal loans were transferred to this app and once that happened I can no longer access MOHELA . I simply get an error (CWA-002) that says since I have two account types I have to access them through the website.

It’s what you would expect from a payment app. The bank account information never gets saved even after you hit “save”. So every time I go to make a payment, I need to fill out all my account information again.

This is a great app, easy to navigate through. The only issue that I have experience is my bank account that is saved will sometimes get deleted. Besides that I am updated with payments and all notifications.
With haveing to keep track of my loans, this appp makes it very easy to do. It’s user friendly .

iOS engineer here. App used to be great: easy to schedule payments, and use TouchID to login. I literally didn’t need anything else, just want to reliably make my loan payments.
Now, attempting to login with TouchID fails with alert “Your account is locked” (it isn’t), and logging in with my userId+password just leads to an endlessly spinning circle on the home screen. I assume one of their network requests is broken and there isn’t a timeout.
This is frankly unacceptable and this app should be fixing this ASAP, in addition to compensating its users for interest being applied on principle that should be lower if I were still able to make convenient payments.

MOHELA was created by a monkey. Forget being able to sign in. Once it asks you your “secret question” it crashes and isn’t able to load anything.
Typical bank. You try to make progress, and they try to prevent you from doing so.
I got sick of their garbage so I called them up and made a one time payment if $32,000 and ended my relationship with them.

1. MOHELA constantly makes you log in.. even if you click “remember me”. 2. I have tried to make multiple payments.. and it keeps saying it takes a few days for it to post.. but it’s literally been 2 weeks and the payment STILL isn’t posted. What’s the point of having the option to pay online if it doesn’t even work. 3. MOHELA is buggy and frustrating in many respects. FIX IT. I am sure you are making millions of dollars... make MOHELA work for the consumers! Jesus Christ, MOHELA is pathetic.

I can log into my account on a desktop or laptop with no issues, but cannot log into MOHELA . I receive error messages saying the account is not recognized. After answering security questions, my account was immediately found...went back to try to log in again and once again...not successful. Tried it on multiple other machines via the website and logged in just fine. Please fix MOHELA. It looks bad when you send ads to use it, but it doesn’t work properly.
After I login and get so excited to make a student loan payment, I get hit with the loading circle that never ends. You would think it would get tired after a while but no, it has better endurance than my dog who hasn’t stopped barking for 4 hours. I am not sure what is bothering me more, the dog or MOHELA. I would say MOHELA is considering I am writing this and allowing the dog to keep barking at birds. It seems like all it takes is a simple update to fix a vital feature of simply logging in to MOHELA , but I understand making things easy for people would make too much sense. Here is my generous 1 star rating.
Good idea but lacks in performance

Downloading MOHELA ? Slow and I had to request it multiple times for download. (On hi speed wifi, nothing else is slow).... then
Logging on has locked me out of the account because it isn’t recognizing my correct answers. (I screenshot the correct log in and file those pics so I KNOW I entered it exactly correct all three attempts).
After successfully entering the log in, progresses to the security questions. I answered the security questions correctly and then I get a message that my password is wrong. Um, what? Just told it was ok. Next attempt I can’t get past password screen to the security questions at all. Last attempt, security question screen again and the “password and user name wrong”.

As if the student-loan burden isn’t bad enough, to have a provider whose app doesn’t work is the icing on the cake. None of us got to choose the provider that services our Direct Loans and I guess we got stuck with one of the worse.
As others have noted, this is one of those rare apps when the latest update took away Touch ID and most of the time locks up after signing in. Really? In 2020?!
Probably little hope for much improvement. Expect to use web portal going forward.

Had a pretty good experience. But I made a slight mistake on two of my payments and they were late. Received a notice saying that after three late payments my auto pay would be cancelled and my interest rate discount would be revoked. After two, they cancelled it and revoked the interest rate. When I called them up to figure why they had cancelled it they said that their policy was two, not three as the letter clearly stated. I showed them their letter and they admitted that’s what they said however the letter was wrong and they would not adhere to what it stated. I would have been happy with them saying “I’m sorry our letter is wrong, and we will be updating it but since we told you this we will reinstate your auto pay and interest rate.” Instead they said our letter is wrong, we will correct it, doesn’t matter what we told you. I’ll admit my wrong in this, but imagine if you received a letter saying that you will be evicted from your home after three late payments and the evicted you after two. Don’t want to work with people who say one thing and do another, I am looking to refinance with a different bank.

You’d think with all the money they make off of students they would at least invest some of it to make their app worth having. Half the time I want to check and use MOHELA I get nothing but a spinning wheel. MOHELA will never remember your sign in information even when you click “remember me”. Sometimes if you are lucky, you’ll be able to sign in, but that’s usually eat with another spinning wheel that keeps you from navigating anywhere away from the home page. MOHELA is useful about 25% of the time when it actually works. Used to have Touch ID until they updated that, and did not even implement Face ID.. just got rid of Touch ID. Disappointing.
As a previous review stated, every time you try to load MOHELA you just get a spinning wheel on the home screen. I’ve sat for 5 minutes before, waiting to see if it will load. Sometimes if I close MOHELA and try again 3 or 4 times it will load. Yes, the update looks a lot cleaner and is easier to navigate. But what’s the point if most of the time we can’t actually go anywhere? Also disappointed that they took away Touch ID. Thought that was a strange move.
Improve sign-in

I tried to get it to accept a fingerprint, but despite clicking the button to give permission, the next two times I went to sign in I had to type my credentials. I have security questions turned on and one time it simply wouldn't accept my answer (which is correct because I've answered it before) and it wouldn't go back to the login screen (useless). So anyway, there are a couple things that need work. From inside MOHELA before it was working for me, but with how often I need to use the site (rarely) I'd rather use Safari until it's fixed.

Before the update on MOHELA, I could sign on to pay with no problem. Now, I have to retype everything in... okay, that is no problem.... until I get told I have no registration. ?? How can I go to the website and sign on, with the same info, and not be registered on MOHELA ? I even tried to redo the registration and it tells me it doesn’t match account info. Umm..... what?? How does this make sense??

MOHELA 's fine if you just want to pay a lump sum and allow this app to apply it across your loans, but it really needs a way for people with multiple loans to specify how much to pay for each loan like on the website. It's disappointing that this sort of feature wasn't included at launch which makes MOHELA less useful than just using the website.

MOHELA works really well for its intended use and I really appreciate how easy it is to make payments on my loans. I’m currently a college student and try to make interest payments monthly, but one issue that I have is that the payments I make take days, if not weeks, to finally show up on my account. I received two additional loans for the school year and got an email saying I did, but my account for some reason has not updated. This can get pretty annoying. I understand that some things take a few business days to process, but it should be much quicker than it is now.
I just installed MOHELA but already I find it very convenient, I'm able to make my payments and view account details. My favorite part is actually the Fingerprint ability so easy to login. Great job developers!!!
