Enjoy your first 30 days. Then be forced to pay more!

If you own more than 30 stocks, beware that you must pay for the “Ultimate” package and not the “Premium.” What they’ll do is give you full access for 30 days and then block access to your portfolio instead of simply capping stocks over the initial 30 you own. This change happened after I paid for full portfolio access. Like they literally made a change after I paid for the service, citing “technology investments.”Additionally, the 30 stock views per month don't carry over, making it difficult to monitor multiple stocks regularly without limiting research on similar ones. Disappointed with the lack of prorated cancellation option, just offered to disable auto-renewal.

Well it was good while it lasted

Simply Wall St. has succumb to monthly subscriptions. The recent update has introduced limited information, you basically get the company’s name and the snow flake, not even the current share price. While I agree the information is compiled in a way that make it easier for us to read, the new UI system is very confusing. When it was introduced it took me along time get used to it Vs. the old UI system. Making a portfolio is pointless, it is so hard to just enter information in the cells on a iPhoneX that makes me wonder who they make this app for. I would love to see the application come back but it is on the path of IBillionaire.

There’s a Disconnect

I love Simply Wall St. for their overall concept — taking a plethora of complex statistical data and simplifying it for the average investor. However, I’ve taken to just using the mobile website when accessing my portfolio instead of the app. The developers seem unable to provide users with consistent data from one device to the next. On the website, everything is as it should be; however, on the iOS apps everything is off. I am invested in 18 stocks, but on the iPhone app, it says I am holding 27 — the sum of the ones I am holding and all of the stocks I have liquidated — even though I have “checked” the option to not show liquidated stocks. And on my iPad, it shows 23. Three different views for one portfolio.

More still, there is a disconnect across every category of measurement of my portfolio’s performance from one device to the next. All this makes their iOS apps pretty much useless.

I trust that Simply Wall St. knows a thing or two about finance and statistics. And the UI is gorgeous. But if they want to make it in the app market, they need to get people who can make the experience consistent.
