Unable to download content

I used this app a lot when I worked in rural Honduras where I didn't have internet access. The ability to download content ahead of time is a huge plus, and I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to do it again since moving to Nepal last week to work in a rural hospital. Every time the download progress bar hits 100%, it just resets to 0% and never finishes. I have tried deleting and re-downloading DynaMed multiple times, to no avail.

Bugs, bugs, bugs

DynaMed used to work great for me. Now it has turned completely unusable. It crashes constantly. Whenever I search for a topic it goes into a “fetching...” bug loop and finds no results, crashing after it does. Was expecting at least a usable app from the developers. A total deal-breaker.

Just skip and subscribe to UpToDate

this app not clearly recommend treatment pathways and abx like utd does and most certainly not with bold face, easy to reach tables, indenting and paragraph spacing. Where are the pictures, diagrams, illustrations, information for patients?

this app absolutely pales in comparison to UTD in any medical setting. It’s a cheap excuse of anything else available to a practicing clinician and barely suits a medical student. I would never pay a nickel for it to use, yet forced to use it since our institution chose the 4th rate option to save money. As a result, most of the attendings and housestaff across multiple services signed up independently to UTD, effectively wasting any potential economic savings with this app.

Unstable

I keep having to log in every week.

Support responds but don’t fix the problem.

Just use the website. Even that requires to be logged in frequently, therefore being inconvenient to the provider during acute situations.

App update

The most recent app update is a huge step backwards in its user friendliness. Please bring back the side toolbar that allows us to directly jump to the subtopic we would like to read rather than having to bring up the toolbar that then takes up the entire page.

Buggy

02-04–20: categories missing. Already emailed support.

Previous review: My past complaints about not having split screen has been corrected. This is a killer app now. Everything from the website is available even sub-categories. Thank you.

Not open

Please update DynaMed :( it won't open since 14 IOS update!

My Favorite Point of Care Tool

this app is ironically more up to date than UpToDate. I like the bulletpoints and it is more affordable. Great tool.

Best App I’ve used

I’m an APRN in private practice. Worth the cost. User friendly, thorough and up to date. Highly Recommend!

Great program

I have used this app, Epocrates and UpToDate. this app gives you more bang to your buck than UpToDate which is $300 + for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Epocrates CME are not as easy to claim like Epocrates.

Review

Great for quick information but limited in volume of content.

PSA for those experiencing user interface bugs like in-topic word search or absent topic outlines

Fully uninstalling DynaMed then reinstalling fixes said bugs and restores all mobile app features. After that, everything works fine. Couple with a database that's often updated, this is a valuable point-of-care tool.

Excellent content

I have used this app Plus for approximately 1 year. Throughout my experience I have been able to locate information easily. Content has been updated frequently presenting evidenced based guidelines. Well done.

To the point

The content is designed well, topics are to the point without additional unnecessary information. Please keep it up, keep it simple but comprehensive for real practice.

Super useful

Often more clear and concise than Up to Date.

On iPhone app it is not super easy to find the section you want in a topic- you have to scroll through all of the content.

Great. Evidence based and concise clinical info

this app gives great, relevant, evidence-based, concise information which can be used at the bedside.
The vetted patient information sheets are priceless. Not too much information, but covering the essentials. Patients don’t need to be college grad to understand.

Initial crash

DynaMed is nice and all, but it crashes every time I first open it. After the initial crash, I re-enter DynaMed and then it works just fine. The start up problems get to me though, so I often find myself opening up the UpToDate app instead, because I know that one works without bugs.

Much better than UpToDate

I am a resident physician. I use this app all the time for concise information regarding guideline based evaluation and management of patients.

Why is it better than UpToDate? Because in UpToDate you get lost with so many links driving you to different pages and having to scroll back and forth between resources.

In this app everything is neat and organized, concise and summarized with updated ACP based guidelines.

You can also finish reading the summary which is also expanded enough and go down to more detailed, specific recommendations.

Keep up the good work. You already have lots of clinicians following you.

Amazing Clinical Resource

In the past I was introduced to UpToDate and I had been using UpToDate for quite sometime before discovering this app. I believe I have found a superior resource for my clinical practice in using this app. I find this app to be more user friendly, better organized and I find the most current evidence based answers I need much quicker and easier than in UpToDate. Thank you for this great resource!

Wonderful resource

It has comprehensive and up to date information that is well referenced. Highly recommended
