A real free to play

This game is sort of a Diablo lite, and everything I've been looking for. I won't go through the long list of mmo apps I've tried but I will list what it has that the many others don't..

1. A real free to play. I've been playing about a week and only saw sale ads for packs twice. I've spent $22 but I really didn't need to, just really liked the game and wanted to boost. It's not necessary to keep up with spenders, the game is just as enjoyable with or without it.

2. Enough to keep you busy for hours if you want, but it's not necessary. There are a few daily quests but it's not like other games that you need to spend hours a day to keep up, you can put it down for days and pick it back up, no falling terribly behind so you may as well start a new account on a new sever like other games.

3. Very minimal glitches/crashes. I've been kicked out maybe 3 times in many, many hours of playing.
And the only glitches is sometimes having to hit buttons twice to store or extract or whatever it is your doing. Really I'm so happy that this isn't another cash cow app that I don't mind in the least.

4. You don't need multiple characters to play the different classes. You just equip the weapon for the class you want and you're now that class, no redundancy of having to start from the beginning for each class.

Awesome job developers!

Bait and Switch

I have been a regular player for months, and until today I was a staunch supporter. You see, about a month ago they introduced a VIP program. A generous program, and I have no doubt that almost every regular player paid real money for diamonds (the in-game currency) and spent them briskly to gain the VIP rewards. Today the new update came out and the rewards program has been gutted. Let’s be clear, the original program was specified in writing without any out clauses. I saw it as a good faith contract. Bit Games has broken that contract. I think that a reinstatement of benefits or a substantial refund is due to me and possibly millions of other players. Failing this, please expect shady dealings from Bit games.

The VIP program continues to be modified, always to remove benefits. Additionally they often modify the game play. They just gutted my character, the product of a endless hours of play and a few hundred dollars in hard cash. Instead of a hard-earned top toon, I have a hopeless and irredeemable ghost. But it matters not as the last two updates resulted in a game that loads on about one try in five and then crashes within minute. Further, Bit Games keeps adding ways to squeeze money from their players. This is a vile game company!

Pretty cool but for all the crashing.

To be clear, I’ve been playing this game for several months so I’ve seen it from beginning to end. It could have been pretty cool, with lots of level building and crafting. Lots of crafting! The pay to play ceiling is high enough to make you almost feel like you don’t actually have to pay to play. But don’t kid yourself, you WILL.

The levels are beautiful, the graphics are beautiful, and the animations are beautiful. It ain’t no Balders Gate or Neverwinter nights, but in fairness, I’m sure the developers never set out to re-create those games. There’s really only about a dozen maps, each consisting of four areas which are made up of 3 or 4 screens. So it’s small. But the gameplay is fairly balanced and fun. Unfortunately, what kills this game is, the deeper you go, the more “crashey” it gets. Lots of crashing! Like every few minutes! To make matters worse, the special events are guaranteed to crash, and, can’t be played without paying. The developers are well aware of it, but there doesn’t seem to be any good solution to solve it. It’s too bad really, if this game wasn’t crashing all the time, it would be a great game which I wouldn’t mind paying a little to play.

Nerfing player power? Really?

Ok, so this game is great, I have had a lot of fun playing it. Now though, the dodge bonus conferred by hurricane aura plummeted. I had mine upgraded to a +200 to dodge, after this update it dropped to +46! 46?! Really?! That makes the spell next to worthless, because it doesn’t increase your dodge chance by even 1% and it only occasionally deals damage, unlike before where it dealt damage every time interval. Also, the star alter NPC’s are immune to the initial damage of meteor, as they only take a tiny bit of fire damage on a spell that could deal 2K damage. Not to mention, the power of the flame haste spell was knocked back so far! It used to dramatically increase your speed, now though it is a barely noticeable increase. What is with these changes? Bugs? There was nothing about these things in the update description, soooo? And with my power reduced I can’t get the materials from the star alter to upgrade my equipment and spells, which was really hard to begin with. Until these bugs are worked out, I am a very dissatisfied player, especially since everything costs so much in real dollars. If these are permanent changes, I hope you reconsider the changes, because I really enjoyed the game as it was.

Recent update killed the game for me

So when I first started playing the game, I liked the progress one could make. Leveling was fairly consistent, was about to give a positive review, but then came an update that dropped my character’s power lvl. I wasn’t too happy about that. The change to stars also stuck my armor at 3 stars which made me weaker than my friend who also played when my set was supposed to be higher than his, but he had already upgraded it fully and I had just started. And I was stronger than him to start with. So he got 5 stars on his and I got only 3 with no option to upgrade further. I can overlook some minor bugs, but this is the third time I’ve been downgraded. Every update comes with a downgrade to my character power level and it’s really annoying to be beating up the monsters one day to turn around and get killed by them with one hit the next day. And now it takes forever to upgrade anything because every update also makes things cost more gold. I don’t have the time to spend all day in the game. Who wants to play games you can never progress in?

New Update ruined the game

The new Star Alter upgrade costs are way too much. 12,000 anvil points? With the allotted 2 slots? That's 6,000 points per slot at at least...only an up graded Item will give me that much...and I need the Star Alter for that. What gives?!?!? Plus the new Map out area is way too busy it's almost confusing. And if my items got upgraded by 5x ( damage and Armor) why am U dying in a matter of seconds on a normal dungeon boss with a hired friend....even the arena's are like this. Our characters are do jacked now. If I only have 53,000 HP and someone is doing 70,000 Crit damage that's ridiculous! That's with a good 25,000 armor... in either case, why am I dying in a matter of seconds? If your gonna raise our damage then raise our HP. It should have been left a lone. Which brings me to The different classes. Why are wizards and archers so much more powerful than Warriors? Even hiring them costs more than warriors? Why is that? I've also noticed a lot more and better Wizardry and archery items and abilities pop up more often compared to warrior items. It's like the class was designed to be inferior. Any how this new patch / Update has ruined the games enjoyment.

Suggestion

I think a description should be added to the goblins and bad guys and whatnot. It would make the game more interesting in my opinion and it would give us a description of the strengths and weaknesses. So on certain attacks, the could do more damage than others. And when we use attacks it’s either more harmful towards them or less harmful. It would give us a idea of what to use and what not to use when battling them. Especially on the boss battles. We could figure out what weaknesses and strengths they have so we will be prepared of what’s to come. This would benefit the knowledge of our foes in battle. You could maybe have another person that tells us about the foes will or have faced? This would improve the game by a lot. If you read this, I would be glad if you made a update on this!

Banned for playing well?

Apparently so. Be careful about leveling too fast or getting too powerful. They’ll say you’re cheating and ban you.....then they won’t reply to multiple queries in multiple places to resolve. It’s rather silly because I’ve enjoyed this game enough to actually spend real money in it. You’d think they’d want to keep a player that’ll pay. In fact, I bought gems last night before logging off and obviously haven’t used them for what I’d intended to. It’s almost like they stole my money or something /s

Have only been playing a few days and, as a former World of Warcraft player, it’s been nice to find something similar but less intense. I’m a heart patient and can’t handle the adrenaline of WoW.....but this game provides plenty of in play options to still level my toon and be productive even when I need to take a break from questing and such. But, ya, apparently they think I’ve used software to alter my stats instead of just simply making smart choices and knowing how to maximize a toon’s abilities. Maybe I’m just good like that. If they can’t resolve this and remove ban, I expect a refund of any monies I’ve invested thus far.

Great game, just a couple things

This is a really great game to play with fighting mobs, fighting with friends, fighting other players and etc. I only have a couple complaints about this game though. I like how you can friend other players but I wish you could also trade with other players. In the trading there should be a limit of the highest equipment you can get though so you don’t become op after trading with the top player. Another thing is that it is way to hard to get diamonds after awhile. To fix this, the game should either make easier quests involving diamonds, small daily opportunities involving diamonds, or when you achieve a quest that gives you diamonds, the amount of diamonds should increase( 5, 10, 15 etc). Well, I hope that the game will change this in the next update. I recommend this game to anyone looking for a casual RPG game and good luck to any newcomers or players!

New updates every hour!

Don’t get me wrong, I love this game. Guild of heroes is the only game on my iPhone that I still keep playing after months. As others say, it takes a whole lot of grinding to make progress without spending real money, but I’m ok with that. I have another problem that doesn’t seem to interest the developers.
I’m spending a lot of money on my mobile data just to keep up with the updates you release every hour! Well, I may have exaggerated a bit there, but take a look at the version history and you’ll see for yourself.
Every update takes about 0.5 gigabytes of my data (that I’ve spent real money on) and they may even fail to download or it may crash after installation.
Dear guild of heroes developers, please think everything through before you release another update. Gather all the data you need, plan what you have to plan, and please please please reduce the update release frequency 🙏🏻

Could be good but bait and switch with poor customer service

Great concept of a game but they often do a bait and switch on in game purchases for programs and have horrible customer service. They offered a great VIP program at one time, made several purchases with said program, they then downgraded the program and you lost a lot of tier benefits you purchased and made it almost impossible to reach those same benefits without spending hundreds of dollars a month. Next, I had an in game item missing, contacted support with an over a week process, which they said I sold to the vendor. I can’t say for sure if that happened but I asked if they could return the item and deduct the gold I received for it. Nope, Nada, not going to happen, they said it goes against their policy. I have had other games do this in the past to restore an item for various circumstances. This company only cares about your money and not the customer. Far to many games out there with better support that at least cares about the customer when taking your money.

Guild of heroes

Let’s start of with how great this game is and the potential this game has its incredible, Ive recently started to play this game I would say it definitely has the key components needed in a game to keep a player going but there are a few bugs I’ve noticed witch is why I’m writing this review, for example when in a arena match and I try to back out of it the menus overlap and I can’t exit the match even when I want to surrender and this does happen with some other features as well as in dungeons, etc. I believe besides the events and what not we have going on I believe we should add a tier system or something so the advanced players still have more to grind for instead of just for power, arena, gear, I have to say my self this is a very well balanced game, where players don’t have to spend money but have to take time out of their day to grind but spending money purchasing buffs, abilities, etc is quite useful in that sense as well.

Update- vip nerf made me feel like I was scammed of my hard earned money that I spent my self to get benefits for

First game to ever get me hooked love it so much!!

I am a huge gamer and love how easy this game is and how I don’t have to purchase anything in order to continue to play n lvl up! I’ve downloaded so many mmorpg’s and after a day or two I get bored n stop playing them. I’ve been only playing for about a week now but every chance I get I’m trying to do something with my character! The only thing I wish was different is the character creation part as I can not customize my character it’s already preset to be a certain way but over all this game is so close to Diablo or wow in a way that I actually have fun playing and I don’t have to spend all day taping to fight as a single mom who loves to game this is perfect for my lifestyle!! Thank you so much !!! I hope others enjoy this game as much as I have n will😍🥰😊

Great mobile RPG game!

I am new to this game and usually do not write reviews. But I saw a 1-star review of an angry old-time player, who complained about a some recent update. Honestly, I don’t know why he put 1 star. I’ve been playing this game non-stop! It certainly is a 5-star game hands down. The game is very well thought through. I really like different things you can do in the game without being dependent on some limited energy. There are plenty of opportunities to grind for items, gems, etc. without a need to pay real money. At the same time there are options to purchase diamonds to speed up leveling and getting some perks, but it does not feel like you need to spend real money if you don’t want to. Overall, I enjoy the grind and what this game has to offer. 5*

BS Game

I’ve never left a review before but this called for it. I used to play this game and got sick of it but my good friend played this game nonstop for a few years now. He put so much time and probably a few bucks into this game. Then he randomly out of the blue, after the newest iOS update, got a message saying he was banned for having cheating software on his device. Take my word, that was not true. He messaged their customer service back and asked what he did specifically and they sent back a rude message saying to read their last message and they weren’t telling him anything else. Like, really? Tell the guy what he supposedly did so he can defend himself. I’m sure they could see how much time he had put into the game; why all of a sudden would he start cheating? And to just ban someone who played that long with no questions asked? My point is that they can ban you for no reason at any time. Don’t put your time/effort/money into this game; the developers couldn’t care less about you.

Minus stars

The game is not bad. The negative is for the customer support and the “upgrades”.
1st I am playing in English yet I still wind up with Russian words A ticket has been in for two weeks. They are “working” on it. It’s getting worse. Is the language a big deal no. What is a big deal is a simple thing like this can’t be fixed what else is wrong?
2nd This game is constantly being hacked. Pets higher than the player. You stand no chance of winning. Frustrating. They claim they work on it but it happens all over again.
3rd The events are becoming a joke. As far as I can tell the recent one has not had an upgrade so far (normally they have a few - seems the elite dev team puts things out for the heck of it). Junk event with useless rewards.
Yeah the game is fun mostly and you are hooked. They figure new players will join and get hooked also. Spend money (they are in this for a profit - fine with that). By the time the new ones figure that out there will be a new wave.

Update is buggy, and makes progress impossible

So after the last two weeks of near immortal status in raid boss levels (where I normally have to fight it out for my 3%), we have come full circle. After three deletes and reloads of GuildofHeroes , I still cannot get into a raid boss setting. It tells me to install the new update. 🤨 And to top it off, costs have skyrocketed: I’m at a point where all my equipment is maxed out or needs a star altar-upgrading to the next level. But those costs doubled?! And the fights are WAY harder. I’m wasting huge amounts of resources to stay alive, and most times failing at that. I understand the need to maybe slow the pace down as some players have become God-like, and thus kinda making high level advancement nearly impossible, but I’m low on the totem pole. A reconsideration on this update should come quick IMO.

Great game but too much buying

I prefer a cheaper kind of game. One where you're not required to buy at least several times a day. I don't like that but other then that this is a rather splendid game. Lots of mayhem easy to slip between characters just pick up a different weapon. You want to be a wizard pick up a wand, a hero a sword or axe a archer a bow that's all. It's great you can switch between them keep your skills fresh. I like being a wizard, I've advanced my gear most for that but I'm keeping the other gear advanced to in case I change my mind.

A tragic downward spiral

Bit more of a rant than a review, but anyway... I really wish I had listened to the reviews before starting this up in mid-February, I just thought to myself, “How bad can the situation be?”. Well as straightforward as the core gameplay was, I liked the look and feel of it so I kept going despite the initial signs of waiting/grinding, but it only got more glaring and frustrating as it went on.
I then put the game down after unlocking the mountains, went back about 2 weeks later, got to the second area of the mountains, and quit again, and I don’t see myself returning in this state. It isn’t a bad game at its core, just brought down by its ever-increasing monetization.
The borderline copy-pasted developer responses to other reviews and lack of telling players of power nerfs in patch notes are the cherries on top. Unless Guild of Heroes re-improves itself in these aspects rather than shooting itself in the foot repeatedly (which seems unlikely), I’m probably done with it for good.

Very disappointing support!!!

I played this game for longer then year and everything was ok until bug in game stole me best item I had. I reported it and instead of getting me back my item they gave me some sh** item which is 5 times weaker. I spent real money to get it but they just don’t care. They don’t even want to hear you just repeat some generic message. Very disappointing!!! I did not cheat and did not do anything against the rules but my item is stolen and they just don’t care. Think twice if you want to spend money on this game!!!!
Update:
This game is example how stupid decisions can ruin very nice game. Events are pointless. When i was lever in mage for tier 10 equipment events offered tier 12 equipment and events were hard but doable. Now events are 10 times harder and you offer two tier lover equipment then it is required for specific level. Game become very greedy. If you pay then you can play if not you will grind forever.
