No concern at all for customers

I am owed 8 vouchers, I am a frequent traveler on this app and they are forcing me to reconsider who to fly with. I applied for 4 vouchers on 4/4 ( 4 more since)and got an automatic reply saying you will hear back in 2 weeks but might be a little later due to number of claims. Now 3 months later and absolutely no response! i called this app head office in New York and the automated message said, “ if this is about vouchers hang up etc etc”, so I hung up. I then wrote( snail mail) to the CEO in Dublin and he didn’t bother to answer me or even have someone else answer. I tried calling Dublin but to no avail. You would think they would have a dedicated line or online faculty to deal with this, absolutely nothing on the this app website. I wrote a second time and no response. A total scandal, complete silence. I will be doing everything I can to to find an alternative carrier for future flights. I will now be claiming the cost of my flights back through my credit card companies for the failure of this app to deliver to me in a reasonable time the goods and services ( flights or now vouchers)they contracted to provide to me. No communications or information whatsoever from this app makes it much worse, it’s the not knowing. We are done.

Worthless

AerLingus is absolutely worthless since you can do almost nothing with it. After downloading AerLingus I found that I couldn’t check into flight, look at the flight itinerary, or load my boarding passes. Not sure what the point of AerLingus is cause it serves less of purpose than the Expedia app I used to actually book my flights. Developers need to update this because it is way behind other airlines such as Delta, American, and United.

Doesn’t work for me

I’m running the latest version of AerLingus and it doesn’t work for me. Can’t get past the green Aer Lingus screen when I open.
It forces me on to the website which is also pretty cr@p. Step it up Aer Lingus / IAG. They should have invested their money into their digital platforms and customer service rather than that stupid rebrand exercise.

Worst ever

The one lowlight was Aer Lingus. Their website was useless, their app was not functional, and it was virtually impossible to get anybody on the phone. I am talking about a full night of busy signals and being on hold for an hour before giving up. We were just trying to reserve seats, and confirm our flights / get boarding passes. They did not / could not / would not help us. As a result we were placed in the back row going with no recline of the seat and returning in the front row with my toes against the bulkhead / no ability to slip my feet under the seat in front. They were the worst two flights of my about 1,500,000 mile flying career. And, the food was awful / nonexistent. They ran out of sandwiches after serving the first four rows! The flight attendants were clearly embarrassed. Our first leg on the return was late. The crew refused to do anything like call ahead and ask the plane be held / ask passengers to let connecting passengers disembark first / tell us what the connecting gate was. The problems were systemic. I am sure they were not an isolated situation.

Useless for MultiCity bookings

AerLingus is completely useless if you’ve booked your flight for a multi city trip. I’m flying into Edinburgh through Dublin, and I’m planning to fly back into Dublin through Glasgow, and since there are multi city flights, you cannot get boarding passes, check in or check flight status through AerLingus which renders AerLingus completely useless! What a waste.

I downloaded AerLingus thinking it would save time checking flight status and checking in. Since I had flights that included more than one stop, it says it was unable to look up any information on my flights. It told me to visit their website. Why else would I use AerLingus other than checking flight status and checking in?

Poor user experience

Upon opening AerLingus to check in for my flight, AerLingus suggested I update the version which I dismissed. Then every button I clicked in the Aer Lingus app a pop up came telling me to upgrade, essentially bricking AerLingus . On top of that some of the pop ups didn’t even allow you to click to upgrade, only to dismiss. Dissappointed in the clear pack of thought for the user experience.

More app support and updates needed

Trying to use the check in feature on AerLingus but once you get there the message says it's not available. We fly Aer Lingus between Dublin and California by default because it offers the times we need to travel. Other than that, it is quite obvious that the money generated by its customers is not put back into product upgrade and development both in flight and technology.

Besides the issue of my flight getting moved and missing the connection, which AerLingus didn’t notify me about, it also made things even more confusing by stacking different flights atop on another and putting negative layover times

I’m so embarrassed that Aer Lingus is our national airline. It took 12 emails and 7 months to get my points added after several flights. Once I was late for a connection (no fault of mine) and was made pay full price for the next flight they then refused to accept the points for it. On another flight had no option to choose my seat the number rang out several times now i’m beside the loo at the very back. Got the credit card but Avios only accepts MasterCards what a fiasco. Please Aer Lingus make me proud again.

Terrible Airline

First of, flew in Business from LA to Dublin on business and the plane was super old and one of the worse business classes compared to other airlines. Second, flew economy from Dublin to LA because I couldnt upgrade online but there were seats available that were given to another couple. Furthed, my bf was selected for pre screeninf which made us be at security and customs an hour longer than we should have. I have flown on other airlines before and never had security issues like this. This airline vs what you get for it is not worth a dime. FYI paid over 4K for 2 tickets.

Website and app are a disaster.

I Made my flight reservations from the USA to Ireland on the Air Lingus site with out any problem. When it came to booking a rental car on the Air Lingus, regular site. I had no success and had to book through Ryan Air, with their site it was a breeze. That was back in April. Today, August 1, I tried to make another car rental reservation, now 4 Months later and the problem still exists. I even tried AerLingus both times and AerLingus doesn’t facilitate car rental bookings. This is the same issue I had as a few months as previously, I successfully booked rental cars on the Air Lingus site many times over the years. Please note this is a site issue and not the device. It’s the same website that Ryan Air uses so why the problem. I can’t be the only customer with this issue. When I book a flight note Air Lingus website I should be able to book my car also or even separately. I should not have to go to Ryan Air to make a car booking. Please explain this issue and why it lasted so long.

Disappointing!

When I first downloaded AerLingus last year, I had no problems. I was able to sign up for the rewards program and decided to check back AerLingus when I was ready to look at flights. This was before COVID. Several times over the past few weeks, I have been unsuccessful with using AerLingus . It simply crashes each time. So at this point I’m giving a “1” star rating until the issue is resolved and/or someone from the airline/app developer contacts me. I expect way better from you! I was going to give “0” stars but it won’t let me submit without clicking on at least 1 star.

Genuinely useless

AerLingus was never any good. I only kept it around so I could update it and see if it ever improved, and it never did. It is literally functionless and doesn’t really let you do anything other than look up flights, and it’s bad and buggy at doing even that. I don’t know why they even want you to install it. It is waaaaay worse than the website, which itself is only mediocre. I finally gave up and deleted AerLingus altogether. Frequent Aer Lingus flyer. They are “not bad” as a basic long-haul no-frills carrier, but I sadly don’t have a lot of loyalty to (or from) them. I really only fly them for the handy non-stop from SFO-DUB, but I will likely jump ship when United pickup the route next month (July 2020). C’mon Aer Lingus! Fire your IT staff and/or developers! They are dreadful.

Useless App!

It doesn’t allow you to rate less than 1 star as I would put it at a -2 stars! Why? It doesn't provide boarding passes, it doesn’t provide terminal or gate information for departure or arrival gates. It doesn’t provide baggage carousal information or remind or update you of flight/ departure delays. It is basically useless unless you want to see the same data as the ticket email they sent you. Psst, Aer Lingus App designers, visit American or United for ideas on how a mediocre airline app should work. Now, put down the pint and get after it!

App is useless

AerLingus is useless if you have a multi-city booking. Seems a little ridiculous I can’t view, check-in, get a mobile boarding pass for my flight to Berlin, just because I’m flying back from Amsterdam. Mobile site is a nightmare. It wouldn’t let me check in, even though the time had passed for checking in to begin. I’ve also already entered all my personal information when I made a profile, but have to re-enter when you check in under your profile - what’s the point?

Color scheme is weird in recent update

Hi, i don’t know much about other features of AerLingus but I was looking to book a flight and noticed that a recent update has made it difficult to do so with the iOS app.

When I select origin/destination the options are all blacked out and hard to read. Then when I tried to select a date the calendar was mostly white. I clicked on the white calendar and the dates showed up but it was weird. I tried three times to make sure it wasn’t an accident but I had the same results each time.

I highly suggest resolving this as it makes it very difficult to book a flight with AerLingus

Semi-useful but really glitchy

AerLingus works decently for single-flight trips. If you have a multi stop trip, however, don’t even bother. It won’t let you check in via AerLingus , and won’t let you view flight details even once you’ve checked in online.
Also half the time I try to view something it pops a message saying wrong method used to view page. Kind of like AerLingus doesn’t work with itself.

AerLingus will give you flight info ex times but wont let you check in .. developers need to work on that..even after you physically check in, you cant download the boarding pass..

I am at the airport in Amsterdam. I purchased a rat business class ticket from. IAD to Frankfurt and a return from Ams via Dublin after being in Ireland for 10 days. Are Lingus told me I could use lounge 41 here in Ams, but we were refused entry. They said we had to fly from Dublin today not 10 days from now.

Functionality Limited, Airline No Better

The Aer Lingus app has the most limited capabilities I have seen in an airline app (I fly weekly and have a dozen or so flight apps) and AerLingus flight info does not align with info on the website. Experience with the airline has been wretched, from communication to customer service, so I suppose AerLingus is an accurate representation of the Aer Lingus experience.

Not bad but

Agree with others it useless if have multi-city booking. I do however like that it updates the days until trip.
Also no option in app to add details to calendar in phone or share details. Not a big deal but one of the few apps that doesn't have this feature.
Having said that I will say I love flying with Aer Lingus and always have. 🇮🇪❤️
