I just downloaded WashingtonsLottery this morning. I used it to scan my non winning ticket. 😭
Maybe something has changed, but I was not required to give a bunch of data, in fact I didn’t add any data.
It scans a lot of different ticket types, Powerball, MegaMillions, WA State Lotto, plus Scratchers.
You can see the numbers that won and past numbers.
I rarely play the lotto, but WashingtonsLottery makes it super easy to see if your ticket won, or what it won, or in my case that it didn’t win.

I downloaded WashingtonsLottery on March 6, 2021. I was NOT required to create an account/log-in in order to scan my lotto tickets. Of course none of the other app features are available to me. WashingtonsLottery works perfectly fine for the one reason I got it. The one criticism I do have is that on an iPad the image is the size of a small cell phone screen and displays only in a portrait orientation (I use the landscape orientation exclusively). Oh, one more complaint... I wish it would tell me sometime that I have a winning ticket!

Before the most current update you did not have to be signed in to check your ticket. Plus the older version of WashingtonsLottery showed you your ticket numbers even if it wasn’t a winner. The updated version of WashingtonsLottery you have to have an account and be signed in to scan your ticket. Once your ticket is scanned the updated version just says “Sorry, your not a winner”, it doesn’t show you your numbers on your ticket like the previous version. I like comparing my physical ticket numbers to what WashingtonsLottery shows to make sure there’s not a mistake. Disappointed that that feature was changed. Probably won’t be buying as many tickets in the future.

Like all the other reviews said, they screwed the pooch on their apps so they can track and sell your information. This is disgusting that if I want to just check my ticket I have to provide ALL OF MY INFORMATION. I’m almost shocked that they didn’t ask for a social security number.

Not only is their app stealing your information but even after I filled out and created an account it says that it’s locked and I need to contact a customer support person. Really glad that these vultures are allowed to operate a gambling app that is now going to further target you.

Good job everyone involved, you made a quick and easy way to check tickets into a hair pulling exercise in frustration.

Used to be able to scan a ticket without having to give away your information to the jackals but they want to sell your information like so many other to whichever scammer that pays for the info. Funny how everyone says your information is confidential yet after owning a smartphone and downloading specific apps you get scam calls up the wazoo. Not giving these clowns the opportunity.

will the developers have enough junk to update the review pictures to show the information they require to use this scanner? My guess is no they won’t because they know that they are overreaching hardcore.

I don’t play very often but every once in a while I figure I can afford to throw a couple of bucks at it when there’s a large jackpot. WashingtonsLottery used to be a convenient way to quickly check your ticket. I guess there’s been some changes to WashingtonsLottery since last I used it so that you now have to create and account just to check your ticket. Makes absolutely no sense. I don’t have to ID myself when I walk into a store and ask them to check the ticket. Basically they took all of the convenience out of WashingtonsLottery in favor of personal data collection. Good bye app, and WA lottery.

Previously I was able to scan my tickets easily. System was accurate. But recently as of early November 2019 on an update, it now wants me to have an account login to scan. The amount of information wanted to get a login is ridiculous. I don’t give up that much info to any app I have outside of banking. It seems they want to sell or use my info. They already get my lotto $ to pay for this. Hopefully this is a IT mistake that’ll be corrected soon or I’m deleting WashingtonsLottery .

I have been using WashingtonsLottery for a while and I used to be able to just click on WashingtonsLottery icon and scan my ticket in just a few seconds ... with the recent update that the developers did this is a thing of the past - LOL. I had to create an account and now the scanner doesn’t even work ! Stupid update on the developers end! WashingtonsLottery basically doesn’t function now ... I don’t want to check all my numbers because I keep tickets for a long time sometimes and I have to go back and check them ... what’s the point now of even using WashingtonsLottery ???

I used to use this for ticket scanning. Now, with the updates, you must create a profile that includes name, phone, email, age, gender and other invasive information JUST TO SCAN A TICKET. I complained to Washington lottery, and they told me the changes were necessary to 1) make sure no one under 18 was playing, and 2) to participate in the awards program soon to roll out. For the first point, I don’t understand how this is necessary and for the second point, who cares if like 90% of users only want WashingtonsLottery to scan tickets. Terrible, terrible update. What were they thinking.

This was a wonderful app because it contained lottery info pertaining to JUST the games in my particular state.
And now, SURPRISE, must create an account with loads of personal information. Gender? Birthdate? Phone?—-REALLY?
If it was just email and password, I could work with that, maybe. But now let’s gather as much information as we can so it can be accessible to someone who wants it bad enough. SKIP IT!
So now, I’ll just use my $3.50 a gallon gas and drive to the store to do my business. Thanks for ruining WashingtonsLottery I had been waiting for, for a long time, finally got, and enjoyed using. Goodnight!

WashingtonsLottery was useful. I don’t play lottery games all the time, but for the last month, WashingtonsLottery will not scan the barcode on the ticket. I read that they now require an account, so I created one an tried again. No change, it still will not scan a barcode. I checked my settings and the permissions are fine. I don’t know how they could break THE major feature of WashingtonsLottery , but they hav successfully managed to do so and are really slow to fix it, if they even plan to do so.

Now you have to open an account with Washington Loto just to try to scan your ticket. But the real question is will it scan , oh heck no. #1 is why do you have to even have an account and # why doesn't the junk work like the last app did. They make you give name, address, phone# dob just to scan your ticket. Guess it time to stop playing as it's become this stupid. Oh and if you look it's not made by the lotto commission it's made by specific games inc. that's who you are giving your info to.

Zero stars, not one. The people who designed and approved the latest update to WashingtonsLottery should all be walked out the door. You have taken an app that was simple, effective and intuitive into something useless, annoying, and with some obvious failures that should have been considered way before it was posted for download. I don’t want to give you access to my personal information and I certainly don’t care about your “server error” after I have filled in 15 or more fields in your create an account form. Zero stars

Apps easy to use, get to scan my tickets and apparently now I get points even for losing tickets. Been racking up points with all my losing tickets, After reading the reviews sounds like everyone’s deleting WashingtonsLottery , hopefully that means I’ll be able to get something good but I probably won’t lol

WashingtonsLottery used to work fine but then they upgraded it and now requires a login with all kinds of sensitive personal information. Simply it’s information I won’t share on an app.

As part of the state government, I didn’t see any information on how the state is maintaining the confidentiality of this information and what are the permitted uses of this information. Can this information be obtain from a freedom of information request? I don’t need this information in the public domain.

Please return WashingtonsLottery to previous version.

This used to be a 5-star app, giving you quick results, well-written intros, and an easy ticket scanner. Since the major update in November 2019, the scanner only works some of the time (error messages), WashingtonsLottery doesn’t update the results for a few hours after the drawing, and you are now required to register to get any of the benefits from WashingtonsLottery.

I’m out. I’ll go back to the old method of just checking the website, if I bother playing at all. Whoever came up with this idea needs to be demoted.

What’s wrong with it? Having to sign in and give oersonal info in order to scan your numbers. I expect to fill out forms for a drivers license, but to play a lottery game, really? Suggest WA Lottery replace whoever approved WashingtonsLottery change - transfer them to DMV and then roll back to the prior version.
It was a fun game of chance. Some Big Brother control freak(s) took the fun out of the game with unnecessary requirements. It’s like paying someone to make your life more complex. Won’t be playing anymore unless and until they roll back WashingtonsLottery.

I was looking for a simple scanner to scan my lotto tickets. WashingtonsLottery requires an account be created before I can simply scan my ticket. They state in WashingtonsLottery that the personal information they require is for age verification. This is not necessary nor is it required by law. It shouldn’t be this difficult to scan a ticket in my opinion. Let the lady behind the counter check my ID when I collect my winnings, I don’t need an app to “pretend” it knows that I’m an adult because I have given it someone’s personal info.

My last review was low due to not being able to scan your ticket without having to log in.

Now you don’t have to login to scan your ticket, but I still liked it when it showed your scanned ticket and showed the winning numbers from each line.

I downloaded WashingtonsLottery to be able to scan my tickets without having to go to the store, because we buy tickets once a week and check them at a later date. I work nights and don’t make it to the store as often - my wife usually buys the tickets and if they’re winners I give them to her to cash in. However, every time I scan it says “see lottery.” What’s the point of having WashingtonsLottery if my main purpose is to scan my tickets?

I’m sophisticated enough to understand the lottery games are...at best...a tax on people who are dumb at maths. I have played any way, even though my understanding of combinations & permutations means winning unlikely.

When it was simple to scan my tickets on my phone & get near instant feedback, I played the game. Now you want my bio & give me less feedback. My state is stupid to undermine the games with such undesirable features that invade my privacy & make me hate the process. So now, when I want to throw a little money away, I’ll go to one of the nearby casinos. Dumb, dumber, dumberer.
And other states like Colorado, the governments spend their lottery tax earnings on infrastructure that people can see...but not here. I’m done giving $ to Washington via the lottery.
