Terrible, broken app

Update 3/8: I didn’t think it was possible, but the latest update appears to have made BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp even worse. I can no longer even sign into my account. BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp is now entirely broken; if I could give 0 stars, I would!

Update 2/6: They replied to my review here asking me to email them, presumably to gather more specific error logs. Well, I emailed them and just received a generic response thanking me for my feedback and they’d look to address my concerns in a future release.

Original Review:
There are very few things in BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp that actually work. The worst is the fact that practically every link (ex: express-scripts) seems to open in the Safari browser preview popup. This would just be a minor annoyance if it actually WORKED. Yet the webpages never actually load. Plus the UI has still not been updated to scale appropriately for newer iPhones with the camera/speaker area that extends into the screen. It’s been 3 years since the iPhone X... when are you going to update that? It’s become a bit of a tradition where I open BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp every few months just to check in. Inevitably I immediately close it in frustration and login on my laptop.

Can’t log in

Ridiculous can’t log in at all ! Useless Called number provided, I was told this is a known bug and to try back in 2 days it would be fixed Obviously not — any clue when you’ll have it fixed since it has not worked for at least 2 months You should just remove BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp — it would be better customer service then asking what is happening when we are all expressing quite clearly you cannot log in through BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp you should be able to replicate this if not happy to get on a call with you just let me know, give me a real phone number to call Seems like nobody really cares about fixing the problem but only seeing complaints wish I could just give it a zero rating rather than even one star

Remarkably unhelpful

This is a pretty bad application from just about any standpoint it is possible to have. Somehow, finding a doctor in BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp is even more frustrating than on desktop, which is truly saying something. The act of fighting with this apps completely non-intuitive layout and horrendous load times, much like the act of talking to a pile of bricks, is comically futile.

I suppose I shouldn’t be too mad about the fact that BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp seems to have forgotten how to do anything but give me a loading icon, since actually using the application is like trying to hold a cup of water in the palms of your hands. It’d be cool if I could log in or whatever but honestly I’m not missing out. It’s time to delete this eyesore

Disappointed

Last year BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp worked fine for me and was a great resource despite much difficulty initially getting into it. At the time with the initial login problems I was told IT was working through issues. All of a sudden I can’t get in again. App opens up then closes immediately. I’ve even offloaded BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp and try all over again. Same thing. Very frustrating. It’s a shame bc the information on BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp when working and consistent is terrific. I want to give it more Stars for the content within BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp but the reliability of it working is a big issue.

Amewll Visits fonts seem to work

Whenever I try to get a doctor to see over the phone, it tells me there’s a single patient waiting when there weren’t any to begin with, and then just sits and spins. Been on for over an hour and have tried various physicians.

UPDATE: developers told me to update BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp but it’s on the latest version. Installing and reinstalling doesn’t work. Doesn’t matter what provider, just says oh they aren’t available after waiting 15 plus minutes being the only patient in their waiting room.

Should be more customized

BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp is rather frustrating. In the course of using it for 10 minutes, I had to login to my account at least three, probably more times. Each time I searched a topic, I found general information that referred me to check my specific plan, then was prompted to login into my account again. I’m using BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp to find my plan’s info, not general information. You should login at the beginning and only see information that is relevant to you

Painfully slow

Even running BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp on an iPhone 11, it’s still unbelievably slow and laggy. It takes around twenty seconds (if I’m lucky) between when I tap on something for it to actually do anything. When searching for a medical provider, once you click on someone’s name, you can’t go back to the search you had open. Incredibly inconvenient. Only good thing is being able to sign in with Face ID because typing in your password takes forever for it to actually sign you in.

Terrible user interface

Unable to do the simplest of tasks without encountering a bug in BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp . Logging in was a nightmare and after that finding any information relating to doctors was impossible and took forever. Looking at my plan information was just going through menu after menu, and completely disorganized. Search bar would kick you out and stop after typing in a few characters to load results. All screens have same animation so you have no idea where you are in navigation. Terrible lily built app.

Littered with usability bugs, limited features.

I love the concept of BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp, but creation of an account with password easily triggered a bug where I could not use a special character even though it was required. After making my account less secure in order to work around the bug, I was able to move forward. However there are still bugs around multiple usernames.

With all that said, the only useful feature here is digital cards, and that is not easy to find.

My expectations were low

I mean, the Find a Doctor tool never worked for me even on the web version, so why would it work on BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp . I had to end up calling customer service every time and had them send over a list of in-network providers that would accept my plan. Totally useless..

Broken, fragile, frustrating

BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp (and account system) doesn’t appear to have any QA. For example, you can’t log in with a phone number. You can’t use an existing email when switching employer plans. It makes you feel like no one there thought through any use cases and can’t maintain basic functionality. Almost neglected by design.

You can’t rely on BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp whatsoever—very frustrating for something you want to rely on for care. You’d be better off taking a picture / scanning your ID card.

Can’t verify my account

I’ve tried over and over again to verify my account and it’s not working. Every time I toe in my Member ID it tells me that an account already exists with that number. It tells me to log in or try a different number. Then when I go to log in it still asks to verify my account. I just keep going in circles. I think I’m better off just using the website with my browser. And yes I do have the masters version downloaded since I downloaded BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp just a few weeks ago.

No point in this app

Truthfully, I have had issues accessing BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp for about 6 months. Barely able to get on, and when I do (in the most rare of cases) it runs so slowly and doesn’t allow me to access any features I need to without restarting my phone. I have an iPhone 11 and it shouldn’t run this slowly.

BCBS: please don’t respond with your generic response to me like you have with all the other reviews on here. I know it’s been just copy and pasted. We would appreciate if you could just execute a functional app.

Houston you have a problem

I have 54 years of using computers everyday and a ms in computer science. Why is this the only app/site I have problems with?

Because everything you put out has blue this or blue that without any explanations on whether they are seamless. Shouldn’t I be able to sign into all of these without separate email/phone and multiple passwords. I even a password manager but can’t sign in. Many of us over 70 have cognitive issues and you aren’t making it any better.

Terrible app - makes me think my company doesn’t care

In switching to a new job, I didn’t expect that a terrible app experience could be such a driver of dissatisfaction in my benefits. Coming from another blue plan that I really enjoyed, I can’t believe this is so much worse. BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp is packed with features that are poorly implanted. Worst of all is well connection. It takes forever to connect to a doctor and BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp times out in 10 minutes and forces you to start over. It is terribly frustrating.

Add Digital ID Card to Digital Wallet?

Is there a way to add my ID card to my iOS (Apple iPhone) digital wallet? I’ve be researching the MyBlue app, as well as the BCBSMA website on my PC to find out if this is actually possible and it’s just me that can’t figure out how to do it. At this point, I’m starting to think that if this was possible, Id already have it done. Anything I’ve ever been able to add to apple wallet gives you the option without having to dig around.

If I’m wrong, please let me know! If this is not a feature, please add it. Many, many insurance providers whether health, auto, home, etc. give you the ability to add it to your digital wallet and it’s absolutely fantastic!

Needs more improvements

BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp itself is a great source for help. The down side and the over shadowing part is the constant system errors, technical issues, missing appointments because BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp isn’t well structured. Lag is a bit noticeable, including BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp assistance help chat. I was charged for an appointment I wasn’t able to attend because BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp wasn’t functioning properly. A lot of improvements need to be made for BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp to be the great helping tool. 😔

Phishing app?

Starting to think this might be a phishing app. Asks for lots of personal information after I created an account, then when I put in my bcbs member ID it says it’s associated with another account (I’ve never made one before) but there’s no way to proceed. Doesn’t seem like I can actually do anything with it now, but It just occurred to me that it collected a lot of details that could be used for identity theft though. Looks official though, so I’m really not sure.

The absolute worst!

We used the BCBS WELL CONNECT app many times for the telemedicine appts. It worked without fail - was easy to navigate and hardly any wait. It was amazing. BCBS has now switched it and it’s a constant problem. We just tried 3 separate times to reach a doctor for my sick daughter and once it’s time to connect, it just scrolls. It’s been over 30 minutes waiting for a doctor with no one ahead of us. Never did reach a doctor. BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp is worthless.

Tragic

BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp is atrocious. The links just keep looping back to the front desk page. The page doesn’t dynamically fit a phone screen (super lazy coding). The profile section is just blank (I’d attach a screen shot if I could). I was only on it for 5 minutes and these were the problems I found. There must be countless other problems should I actually try to use it for anything if the basic functionalities are already this bad

No Apple Wallet support

I don’t want to have to open BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp and log in to get to my medical card. Please put it in Apple Wallet like everyone else!

App isn’t bad (although I don’t use it much). Easy access to the card without having to physically carry it would be the feature I used most.

Cheaply built and slow.

BCBSMA app is a disaster. I don’t think it’s an actual app. The windows, interface even is not designed for any device. It SLOWLY connects to bcbs website and provides a hard to navigate webpage. Sometimes it cannot even display. BCBS, how much did you pay BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp developer? Hope the answer is 0. It’s awful.

BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp is terrible. It logs you out when you click on options, it pops up error messages to call a 1-888 help line that is only staffed 8:00 - 5:00, it only show one family members information ...etc. absolutely terrible app. I’m begging my employer for Harvard back. They were a well oiled machine. Not BCBS.

Reloading again, BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp just sits on the start up page. With the old app, I’d search for providers in my area which is Phoenix and only get providers in the New England area. I switched zip codes, cities and every other setting I could. Seems like both apps didn’t work.

It constantly lags and every link is broken. The result when I click on things is “Sorry, there is no information”

I am connected to my WiFi this happens or on cellular it happens. I want to use BCBSMAMyBlueMemberApp but currently it’s unusable . Please fix this soon. I need it to submit medical claims

Big setup gotcha

Be aware that if you use third-party keyboards, like the Google Gboard, you will not be able to setup your account. The social security number spinner goes all wonky and won't let you enter anything. You have to use the default Apple keyboard.

Also, why only 10 characters for a password? I thought medical records were supposed to be secure? How about use the built-in features that allow me to connect to my password manager app of choice as well as TouchID. And then let us use 24-character alphanumeric and symbol passwords that are truly secure.

Slow and almost useless

Tried for first time today. Responds VERY slowly on iPhone X and links land you to the wrong information. Shouldn’t have been released. Don’t bother downloading.
