Like with most Japanese companies, they tend to be insular and only want to work with other Japanese companies. So I assume they are working with a Japanese app developer, and if that is the case, I get why GyuKaku isn’t fully flushed out and why it’s so basic (there are no big/successful Japanese dotcoms, and they lag when it comes to the internet/apps).
Regardless of the rewards/promos offered by Gyu-Kaku/Rein which are great (minus going from a flat $25 off to a percentage), this is a basic app with very limited functionality. It is so limited that even if I turned off notifications via my iOS, I am still inundated via email of how my points are constantly expiring (yea, they added that too, why? We earned the points except “use it or lose it”).
I have/had ten of thousand of points, so this can get extremely annoying quick because I am constantly being notified of expiring eff’n points!!! or of promos.
I know Gyu-Kaku as a restaurant operation is at the top of their game, except GyuKaku reflects their limitations as a company and the 3rd party’s ineptitude. Get on it and fix this issue (I don’t expect that to happen tho).
