I’ve used this app for over a year to track my journey since surgery. The most recent redesign and update is not as user friendly and the food search is suddenly MUCH more limited. For simple things like searching for applesauce it only gives a sweetened option, I have unsweetened Motts. It used to be in the app but now it’s not. Frustrating when you pack a single serve in your lunch at work but then can’t track it because there is no barcode on the container. In my “recent” foods it is showing me items I ate 10 months ago but not what I logger yesterday or last week. Hopefully it gets fixed in a future update because I can easily track what I eat in other apps that allow me to actually search, too bad they’ve ruined a great thing.
So first off I love this app! It has been great in helping myself to keep myself accountable. I had surgery ten years ago and noticed I was starting to put some weight back on. This app has been great at helping me to recognize old bad habits starting to creep up on me. The one issue I have is with the formula used to calculate calories. For example I made the fluffiest scrambled eggs that they have listed in the recipes. This is four eggs and cheese. It is 153 calories in the app. The next day I made the exact same thing only with three eggs instead of four. It was listed as 273 calories. Additionally the three eggs have more protein, sugar and carbs than the four egg version. This is the exact same ingredients as the four egg just missing one egg. If anything it should have less not more.
I have only been using this app for a short time, but I find it to be very user-friendly. So far, what I have found is that using the voice feature doesn’t recognize brand names, that could be one improvement that I see should happen. Otherwise, the app gives those of us who have had bariatric surgery a quick look at what’s the most important. Getting in enough protein while not taking in many calories. I love that you can customize the look based on your own story. I am three years out from bariatric surgery and was using a different tracker which didn’t look at my calories very accurately or appropriately for my surgery. This is much more realistic and I love it!
