This app is overall very well made. It has all the features you need after bariatric surgery including water logging for free. It tracks macros well. It’s intuitive and easy to use. So why only 2 stars? A lot and I mean a lot of the nutrition information is wrong when you add a food that’s in the database. There’s also a lot that’s not there at all. To address this they have a very handy “request a product update” feature that allows you to take a picture of the product and the package. You also use the same thing for products not in the database. Okay you say so still why 2 stars? Well it appears these updates go to an unused folder somewhere at the app developers offices because I’ve requested the same items updated many times over months now and nothing has been fixed. The new items I eat that are not in the database? Yeah they have never been added either. It’s really to bad. This app would be great if they kept up to date with the proper nutrition. If you use it be careful. You could end up quite a ways off on your macros by just blindly trusting their data. If they ever start to update products again I’ll revise this review.

I’ve used this app for over a year to track my journey since surgery. The most recent redesign and update is not as user friendly and the food search is suddenly MUCH more limited. For simple things like searching for applesauce it only gives a sweetened option, I have unsweetened Motts. It used to be in the app but now it’s not. Frustrating when you pack a single serve in your lunch at work but then can’t track it because there is no barcode on the container. In my “recent” foods it is showing me items I ate 10 months ago but not what I logger yesterday or last week. Hopefully it gets fixed in a future update because I can easily track what I eat in other apps that allow me to actually search, too bad they’ve ruined a great thing.

Overall this is one of the better tracking apps. The barcode scan works great, and if it doesn’t recognize something, will have you send a pic of the nutrition label so they can add it to their database
The feature to add your own recipes needs a lot of work. Adding foods by barcode works nicely, but the portion size does not show correctly on the confirmation screen. Typing in ingredients leaves you at the mercy of their software how a food is listed in their database. For example, if you enter “Beyond Sausage”, it only “sees” sausage and calculates for that. You need to know that the database calls it “plant-based sausage, hot Italian”. I can work around those issues though. However the biggest deficiency is that once you Save a recipe to your recipes, you can never go back to edit it. Say you make meatloaf with 85/15 burger one time, but 93/7 the next. Or you decide to skip the yogurt in your usual smoothie recipe. There is no way to go back to a saved recipe and tweak the ingredients. You have to re-enter the whole recipe again. This is a dealbreaker for me, since I never cook anything the same way twice.
Love the vitamin tracking for all my post surgery requirements. Make the recipe feature editable after saving and I’ll go back immediately
