Doesn’t work...

My phone was an iPhone 5S and I’m upgrading to an iPhone 8. For whatever reason when I backed up my old iPhone to update my new iPhone not everything transferred over. I was using iCloud to transfer everything but there were some things that didn’t make it such as my contacts and calendar appointments; ironically all my photos and apps did. So I tried this this app Mobile Transfer app. Upon setting up it took forever to “get connected” or whatever term it uses. After that it said it was “finding content”. The issue is that it never stopped loading... I kept both of the phones connected for about 45 minutes to an hour and the entire time ATT said “finding content”. I decided to close ATT down on the phone to see if anything happened and it didn’t. Other people are saying theirs took a few minutes....I was not so lucky.

2nd time around: I went through my old phone and I deleted apps and photos that were transferred with iCloud. I think this made connecting to the this app Mobile Transfer much easier! However, there still 200 or so contacts that will not transfer over. I go through the prompts and select contacts, it sees 378 of them, but when I hit transfer only 178 actually transfer... I’ve tried it like 4 or 5 times and it still doesn’t work.

Does what it’s supposed to do!

This was one of the rare times where I’ve downloaded an app, used it and it worked flawlessly, not to mention quickly. ATT was so easy to use, transferring all of my info from an iPhone 6 to iPhone 8, that I came back to ATT Store immediately to leave my review.

ATT gave me an estimated transfer time of one minute...it was under two, which was perfectly fine by me. For reference, this was for 626 contacts (man, I need to figure out how to keep business emails from saving to my account), 34 pics (you know, because the other 3,000 are already on laptop and iCloud) and 8 videos. I would be confident that ATT could handle much larger amounts quickly, depending on network speeds. Thank you for making a great utility app!

Not all contacts transferred

Was transferring from iphone 6 to iphone 8 and though it SAYS most of my contacts transferred, some of them the numbers didn’t transfer. Because iCloud is impossible to deal with when you’ve had lots of photos and several phones (somehow even when deleting it’s always full) I’m still left frustrated that many numbers didn’t come over.

I don’t know how else to respond to the developer response, so here goes: It does seem like the contacts that weren’t transferred happened after my icloud stopped downloading. With that said, when you go to set up the phone, it already gives you the option of syncing with icloud, and I knew that would be problematic in my case. It’s a free app, so I can’t complain too much, but it would be WONDERFUL if an app could be developed to actually just do it phone to phone somehow. I’ve had issues with itunes too, btw on my laptop - I connect the new phone and it tells me it can’t connect, so I’m kinda screwed :(

iPhone transfer a SNAP

I initially tried transferring content from my old phone by backing up to iCloud and then doing a transfer. That quickly became a headache as iCloud stated that I had ran out of storage. In googling alternative ways to transfer I ran across the AT&T app. After downloading ATT it initially would not connect the old phone to the new. I had to restart the phones a couple of times and open ATT . When they connected it became a snap to move content over to a new device. It took about 10 or 15 minutes for transfer to be complete.
Love, Love ATT.

Mobile transfer app

I’m pretty sure my contacts and photos were transferred between iPad mini gen2 to Mini gen5. However, I was expecting music to be transferred too, but reading what it is supposed to do, music wasn’t part of it. There were a few issues because older iPad was running iOS 12.4 and some things were not supported it said. Ended up going to iTunes, backing up to my old Mini-2 backup and attempting to transfer to new mini-5. My purchased and Downloaded Music and playlists were supposed to transfer but did not fully do that. Didn’t see any helpful information to accomplish that. Missing 60-/+% of my downloaded music and about 20% of music on playlists. 3rd party or after market app was needed to complete the music transfer. Therefore 3 stars out of 5 = 60% satisfied.

STICK TO ICLOUD

My dad switched from a galaxy to an iPhone, so ATT worked great for him since he didn’t previously have an iCloud account. However, if you’re switching from an iPhone to a new iPhone, do not waste your time. Stick with the iCloud account. ATT duplicated every single photo I had and messed up my iCloud account as well so I have duplicates of every video and photo I have. It also brought back all my deleted photos so instead of 10,000 photos I had on my old phone (after I cleaned up all the pointless screenshots, pictures with ex’s, etc.), it made my new phone have over 36,000 photos. I have no clue how. Best part... it also made my photos completely out of time order. I have pictures from 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 SCATTERED EVERYWHERE. DO NOT USE ATT IF YOU’RE TRANSFERRING CONTENT FROM IPHONE TO IPHONE. Apple sadly couldn’t help me with this situation since this is a third party device issue, so I have to waste a whole day deleting all those pictures.

Very smooth process, after I...

The design and functionality of ATT is great, and it worked like a charm.
My only issue was that ATT kept crashing on my old Nokia Windows phone early in the process. When that happened, there wasn’t a good way to abort it on my new iPhone so I could try again.
I finally uninstalled all the added apps on the old phone, restarted it, and it worked like it should. Something was apparently conflicting.
The bottom line is that I didn’t lose any contacts and my photos and videos didn’t have to be manually copied from OneDrive.

BEWARE: Mixed everything on all our devices.

The first time I used it was great, it transferred all contacts and videos and photos to my new device. But this time not only did it take 5 hours, but it somehow mixed my photos and videos with all the families photos and videos. I transferred over 50GB of data but my new device shows only 12 GB used. It did this on ALL OUR DEVICES. So my iPad now has videos from my phone and my phone has pictures from my iPad. I can’t even delete the ones I don’t want because it says “this will delete from all devices” very annoying as I now have to scroll thru thousands of photos that aren’t even mine. How did my families devices who weren’t even connected to the transfer get involved? Why can’t I get MY photos back on MY phone? Are they all in ICloud? If so how can I get them back?

Yay!

Thank goodness! I didn't have enough iCloud storage to put my photos on the cloud then transfer them to my new iPhone 8 (previously had 5s). ATT took 10 minutes to transfer my photos/videos. I had a ttooooonnnn. I didn’t allow my contacts to be transferred since I have way too many outdated contacts. You can also have contacts transferred if you choose. I’m giving 5stars bc it worked excellent for what it said it would do but I was considering 4stars because I wish it transferred my notes & email account settings. Free app 10 easy minutes.

Super easy

ATT was recommended by the at&t sales person and it could not of made transferring photos and videos easier. I am pretty sure my 3 year old could’ve done this without much help. I did not use the contacts transfer feature as I need to do some serious clean up (many duplicates and outdated contacts) and would prefer to start with a clean slate, but I imagine this would be an ideal feature for many. Overall a great app and worth the few minutes to download and transfer!

Transferred broken S5 -> iPhone 7+

ATT was a lifesaver for me ! I sent my 6s swimming so had to get out my broken screen, barely functioning Samsung out for temporary use. When I upgraded to the 7, ATT helped me get the photos and videos out that I could no longer see as well as all of my contacts. (My google account sync was off on my old phone during the first transfer - 600 contacts took 6seconds! - but the second transfer brought all 1200). Videos and pics take time, however.

Not all contacts transferred

I really hope I can find an easy solution before I have to send in my trade-in phone. I upgraded from 7+ to 8+ and I used ATT and I recalled from before that it's much faster if you transfer a lot of photos and videos from my phone to my computer so I basically transferred contacts only this time and not even all of them transferred over and I'm trying to figure out why. I believe some of the contacts were either create it in or connected to the exchange that I use for work. I am wondering if the problem iOS 11 had with exchange servers is causing this to happen somehow

Missing Photos & Videos Transferred

I have a replacement iPhone 6 since my original’s screen started bulging. I started by restoring from an iCloud backup but that omitted most of my music and all my local photos & videos. AT&T Mobile Transfer offered to transfer photos, videos & contacts. I didn’t need contacts since the iCloud restore got all those fine. With AT&T Mobile Transfer I now have my photos and videos. Maybe I can get the music using a restore from iTunes backup. Moving to a new iPhone is quite challenging but it is nice to have this tool.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU...

This is the way it’s SUPPOSED to work. Why is it a nightmare every time I upgrade my iPhone? Seems simple enough—just make a COPY of everything, from the OLD place on my old phone, to the same place on my NEW phone. But, it’s not so simple for Contacts and Pics. If you’re not an iCloud user, it’s a miserable, time-consuming hodgepodge of iTunes (cross your fingers and hold your breath), Windows workarounds—and all the rest. It shouldn’t be this way. Thank you AT&T— ATT worked beautifully, in an instant.

ATTN: if your screen is broken

Make sure you turn your brightness down on your old device if you are transferring from a phone with a cracked screen.. Also I was having an issue for a while ATT not working saying it was “testing the connection” the fix for this was to turn off and turn on Wi-Fi on both devices if you get this issue to fix it. Once it worked it took less than a minute to transfer all my contacts so I can’t complain!

Easy to use and understand

I give it a 4 star . Even though most of the contacts transferred, it is infuriating to have more than 20 contacts that did not transfer. Seems like the system pre selects the one that won’t be imported. It also seems to be the problem with the other apps in the market. I had high hopes on ATT since it has the the AT&T name. Just know that before you erase the data from your old phone, you are going to go through all your contacts and manually add the ones that did not transfer.

This app is so helpful!!

I tried for literal days to move my data from an old droid phone to a new iPhone with various apps (move to iOS being one) with no success and much frustration. Then in store a worker told me about the AT&T transfer app. I downloaded it and it 10 minutes had everything from my old phone on the new one. My only complaint is that I didn’t find ATT sooner. Cannot recommended enough.

Saved my life

Arguably the best way to transfer information. My icloud hadn't backed up my phone in six months because it was out of storage, so when my phone broke and i needed a new one i thought i would lose the pictures i recently took forever - but upon activating my new phone i found ATT! It worked so well and transferred all my information (contacts, photos, videos) in under an hour. A great app and serves a great purpose!

Good app overall

Even though everything I thought was going to be transferred wasn’t it did do my pics and I think my contacts .. none of my apps where transfer though or my messages etc.. it took a long time about an hour so I figured with that time it would do everything I needed to transfer that it would have done a true complete transfer but it didn’t.. above all though I guess it was ok nothing seems to be corrupted so that’s a plus on the other end.. but wished it just did it all instead of me having to do so much work after ..

Read the Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions 5.2- (paraphrased) any content submitted through app, AT&T is able to use, distribute, reproduce and display worldwide and you waive all moral rights. Why does AT&T need this in there terms and conditions?? Why did there employee download ATT for me as soon as I got my new phone and wanted to wait till I transferred everything for me to pay, even though it would’ve took an hour. AT&T makes an app that grants them full rights to all your photos and contacts then has there employees push it on there customers, Seems sketchy. Also why is ATT approved for 4+ years old when it explicitly says you can’t use ATT if you’re under 13?
