It’s an good operating system and easy to book buses, but when it comes to the actual buses it’s pretty awful. I’ve been left by two buses now and as a foreigner it is very stressful, specially when you’re relying on an app. They tell you a location and it’s really another one, or it’s a different than bus than it says (which according to immigration officer is illegal) very poor communication and perhaps it’s the buses themselves but when you have only the app to trust, it’s very disappointing. I think it might be better to over pay at one of those your agencies than risking maybe getting picked up maybe not. I had some easy buses, no problem but it’s the ones that never showed up that make me never want to use this system again. Very unfortunate and extremely irritable. Plus I only got one of the no-shows refunded. I know it’s India, but cmon. Maybe if you are risking it, only use the high rated bus drivers and try to call them at numbers they provide. This still won’t guarantee them showing up.

The biggest thing is that you can’t open the ticket after you’ve booked it. It’s there in the My Bookings tab, but then they always “fail to load”. The emails from redBus are also always jumbled and hard to read, missing important information such as the address of the bus terminal (crucial when a city has more than one station with similar names) and seat numbers (something we needed to prove/provide to the bus company in order to get the seats we paid for).
It’s also nearly impossible to book on the app due to bad design. I always had to use the webpage on my phone anyway to do anything with redBus.
Lastly, they should stop selling tickets with really poor bus companies. There are so many more providers than listed on redBus—and many with better service, routes, and prices than offered on their site/app. If you can’t book a route with more than 3 stars with them, just buy it in person at the bus terminal.

I find redbus as a company that is interested only in making money but not to make sure customers get the money’s worth . I booked a ticket via redbus on SRM transport in a volvo multi axle bus for 840/ ticket. 4 hours prior to the travel SRM called me saying the bus is canceled due to breakdown and they shifted me to a sleeper bus on 760/ticket. Neither did SRM bother to refund the difference nor redbus works . Every time I call redbus to complain regarding this my call goes on waiting for 20minutes and gets disconnected.
Pathetic to see such companies thriving in our country.
